First off make sure you have cash if you ever think about coming here as that's the only form of payment they take. Don't expect any excellent customer service or anything because you won't get it. But whatever, it's been around for years and it's a family owned location. It's cheap which is great and it is still extremely tasty. I enjoy their classic burgers and fries which is what I typically get along with a shake or a twister!! (Twister=ice cream) If you come here you have to try the shake or the twister. Or even both if you can. Probably the best shakes I have ever had! And the twister is awesome because it comes in butterfinger flavor with the actually chocolate pieces in there. I love butterfinger, and I totally think it's underrated but that's just me. If you're a hater on butterfinger, don't worry they have all the basic flavors too, plus Oreo (which is a good one as well). Fosters just isn't what it used to be. I used to come here in high school quite often for burgers and ice cream. I most likely was just young and oblivious to what was going on around this place but I used to enjoy it a lot more than I do now. The place appears to be owned by the same people as it used to when I would come here years ago. The customer service is not spot on at all, everyone who works here does not make you feel at home. The place doesn't have any sort of upgrade anywhere, I feel the signs that advertise the food is the same as when it first opened. The place feels pretty dirty and ran down. I feel like it will only be in business until the place literally falls down. With all that said I'm sure I'll continue to come here for ice cream due to its the only place you can to in Spring Valley. I always enjoy worms in dirt and a banana split! Usually I only come here for dessert items, but this time I decided to try it for lunch. I am glad that we came here because the food tasted pretty good. I got the old fashioned burger combo and was happy with how good it tasted and I loved the fries. The price didn't seem too bad for the meals that we got. The only downside I had to coming here (especially as a pregnant woman) is that there is no bathroom for people dining in. Luckily we don't live far so I didn't have to wait too long for a bathroom. We looked it up on Yelp, which had its hours wrong. We informed them and they stated that they'd tried to correct it with Yelp 2x and it keeps going back to the wrong hours. They have a great menu with lots of choices, treats as well as food. I had a malt, and it was great. They were also quick, even though they were doing quite a brisk business. Well my experience at Foster's Freeze unfortunately was not a good one... There was one guy working the counter/kitchen and he was extremely rude and unprofessional... Quite frankly very weird... At one point while he was making my cherry shake he was suspiciously snickering and making what looked like spitting gestures ... I asked him what was so funny and he didn't respond... He just handed me my shake without saying a word... I didn't have the guts to drink it, so unfortunately, I still don't know what Foster's Freeze tastes like... Only had ice cream here. The portions are generous to say the least. And they were really good, the wife had a small dip cone and I have a reeses freeze with dip cone chocolate in it. The medium I ordered was the size of the large everywhere else you definitely get your money's worth. They only take cash though. I've been going to this place for 35+ years and I don't know if they've recently changed owners but I didn't see any of the Asian family I am used to seeing behind the counter. The new guy was a rude and unfriendly douche. He saw my son and I standing at the outside counter and didn't even acknowledge us for what seemed like FOREVER.
