The food is really great value for Money and our server was really good but the two African American girls checking us in could not have Ben any more rude and cared less about our request. We had a reservation for outdoors. She wanted to put us outside in the front instead of by the lake. When we said we did not want to hear the music from the other bar we asked for a seat by the window. The restaurant was empty inside. She said we couldn't because tables were all reserved. Ironically we ended up getting sat by the waiter at the window and we were here an hour with ABSOLUTELY NO ONE taking any of the four tables by the window. Poor first impression. Would've Given 5 stars until the poor initial service. Check your attitude when you come to work. read more

Blah.. seriously my meal was horrible and the service wasn't any better. My fish was nasty and tasted like frozen fish. They said they ran out of mashed potatoes but it was only 7pm, huh???!! So they gave me Mac and cheese instead, oh boy that was a mistake it tasted like a salt lick and the vegetables were almost raw and cold. The server said "the kitchen closes early and they are trying to clean up and sometimes food gets made in a hurry" I can't make this up, so ridiculous. Will never be back! read more

This seemed to be the best option of the restaurants in the area, but we were disappointed. Our food came out extremely quickly but it was cold. We had our server heat it up and that made a huge difference. The pork chops were dry and the ribs we just ok. The best thing we had was the Cajun shrimp pasta. This is our 2nd time here in 2 days and we loved our experience the first time so we had to come back before we leave back for home. I accidentally made reservations for the Kona location and Kaylee the hostess was so incredibly sweet she squeezed us in and could not have been more friendly! You guys should consider yourselves lucky to have someone like her working for your company! The waiter (Mark) was also awesome! Greeted us promptly and was friendly and accommodating:) checked in on us often and was one of the best servers we have ever had ...food was outstanding as always! We had a company luncheon here for 34 people, and it was fantastic. As soon as I walked into the restaurant 10 minutes prior to our scheduled time, I could see they had already allowed our employees to start getting seated and get them water or soda. The servers were right there and showed me where our tables were, and they introduced me to Chris who was leading the luncheon for us. I was so worried, but everything came out quickly, correctly, efficiently, and really delicious! I received a lot of great feedback from the employees on how much they enjoyed the food and experience. The employees who ordered Pork Chops said that they were too salty (which I think was the batter) while everyone raved about the pork ribs. Much mahalo to the Foster's staff...You all are awesome! Vegetarian options were a great grilled cheese and tomato bisque (verified vegetarian!), Fried green tomatoes, hush puppies, and a lilikoi bbq beyond burger. Everything was delicious! Nice local twists to the menu items. As a local, I was happy to see a local restaurant with delicious food. Ordered Stir Fry Ahi, omg, so good, had a perfect spicy kick and sauce amazingly complimented the fish! Portion was on a smaller side but perfect for me (not a big lady). Go elsewhere.... Even if there is a wait. I ordered the fish of the day, Opah, which is supposed to be light, flakey, and moist, it was thin, over cooked and dry. Sent it back and they redid it, still not good, but I ate it (6.3 out of 10). Mediocre at best. The chicken pasta was bland and flavorless. The worst part was the banana puffed pastry desert. The flavor profile was acceptable. However, the puffed pastry, which is supposed to be light and flaky was nearly impossible to cut, even with a steak knife. Should have been served with a chainsaw to cut it. It took a long time to come out, I think they overcooked them heck out of it and tried to cover it up by over-saucing it. I give it two stars because they have a decent puff pastry app (where they cooked the pastry properly) and the NY steak was good. read more

Omg this place is amazing!!!! This is the second time we have come here and we absolutely LOVE IT! This time we came on our honeymoon and we had Amber as our server. I believe that was her name? She was tall, brown hair a large tattoo on her arm and really really pretty! She was absolutely FANTASTIC! Best server ever! Absolutely perfect and knowledgeable and friendly and just all around amazing! The food is incredible! Comes out super fast and it's beautiful on the plate! It's delicious and generously portioned! I ate every bite and I never do as I'm just not a big eater. I was today! It was so good I couldn't help myself! The bartenders Ashley and John were absolutely amazing also!!!! They were Super friendly and knowledgeable as well! They were absolutely amazing! I have to recommend the lychee martini! It looks kind of weird at first but PLEASE FOSTERS NEVER CHANGE A THING! That has become my all time favorite martini! The flavor hits every taste bud! It's like juice but it's def not. Locking for some mainland home style cooking? This is for you. You can get chicken pretty much anyway you want it and other dishes too. Nice sides add to any meal and many unique sauces to choose from. We chose to do take out because they would not take a reservation by hone but rather used something called wait list which despite repeated attempts did not work to put me in a wait list. It was an irritating experience from a service perspective -especially when I kindly asked to be waitlisted. So I should reduce my star by 1 due to service. read more

We came here just because Guy Ferrari came here with Diners, Drive ins and Dines. I ate the same dish Guy recommended and it truly was incredible. I got the Stuffed chicken. Also the bruschetta. Unbelievable. Fresh! Flavorful! Just incredible. It was so good that we said we're coming back tonight to try other dishes. You won't regret it going here! Logan was our waiter- very, very good. We went here three times on our recent trip, and were never disappointed (except that we had not found the place sooner). Excellent Mai Tai's (best we had over 12 day visit to the island). First things first I'll say the waiter was very nice and accommodating. I don't remember his name tall Caucasian guy with tattoos. I ordered fish tacos specifically without dairy (my body can't handle it) I told him no sour cream and no cheese, It was loud in there so I don't think he heard me right. He brought out my tacos and they had sour cream I wasn't going to say anything about it but my fiancé asked if he could correct it and he apologized for his mistake, he brought the tacos out and half way through my second I spotted cheese melted under everything that was on the taco.. Since about an hour after I left my stomach has been insanely sore and I'm having food poisoning symptoms. I'm wrecked. Other than that the food and atmosphere were great. I recommend dining here but if you have any food aversions, make sure they understand what you mean when you say you can't eat something. read more

Stand-out dining experience! We ordered the seafood puff pastry, stuffed mushrooms, paniolo salad and Cajun salad, ahi tuna salad, primavera, gumbo, and truffle fries and they were all delicious! Oscar provided incredible service. Foster's is fusion cuisine at its best. Their menu is a blend of southern comfort food and Hawaiian. We started with the pimento cheese and cajun dip with crostini. My husband was immediately plotting returning during happy hour to enjoy this dish for a second time in one day. It's seriously so good. The components come separate, so you're seeing my version of the perfectly constructed bite in this picture. My husband ordered the fish and chips. It was an elevated take on a classic dish. The fries are homestyle and delicious, served with homemade ketchup. I ordered a garden salad (available regular and smaller) and I added grilled chicken (also available with blackened chicken and shrimp). I had to get a salad because I saw the chili macadamia nut Thai vinaigrette. It was everything I imagined and more. The food was fast and service was friendly. We live here so we've been to this place dozens great experiences here. So this isn't a reflection of the restaurant. This is because Friday 9/24 6:30,,, this bartender suuuucks. Sat at the first two chairs that were open. He tells me I have to sit all the way at the other end of the bar. Which sucks because he never goes to the other end of the bar. Took over 10 mins just to get one drink,,,, and then I never see the guy again. 45 mins later my drink is gone, he never comes back to see if I want food or maybe another drink. I have to go to the other end of the bar to ask for a check, which I never get. I have to flag down random waiter to pay my bill? That bartender suuuuucks. No tip for that asshole. read more

Almost didn't go here because of some of the reviews but gave it a chance and very happy we did. Went here in a large party of 12 with 6 adults and 6 children ranging In age from 6 to 13. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and worked together to get our order out. The food was excellent and the prices fair for what we ordered. I would definitely come here again. This was our second visit to Fosters. Earlier in the week prior to a rain storm the food and service were excellent. This visit the food didn't click. I had the identical meal but it was without taste, or flavor. My wife's salad was supposed to be mixed greens and was all iceberg. The positive was the hustle of the female front of house or kitchen supervisor. She was busy and committed which was in total contrast to what appeared to be the male front of house supervisor who spent long periods of time propped up near the bar slurping water or chatting to the hostess staff. The wait staff and kitchen were hustling but he seemed oblivious. Hopefully he's not better compensated ($$) than her! read more
