Had a fantastic dinner and drinks while staying on the big island. Our young bartender was kind, cool and made the BEST Old Fashioned I've ever had. The other cocktails we had were fantastic as well. Food was MEH at best. The service was poor and the owner was sitting beside our table where he was unprofessional to say the least. The conversations he was having showed that he does not care about the patrons that drive his business. We spent 11 days in a hotel in Hawaii where we at out every meal. When I asked my family the best and worst meal, it was unanimous. Foster's Kitchen got the award for the WORST MEAL during our lengthy stay. So...stay clear of Foster's Kitchen. We went to Foster's for what we hoped was a quick dinner before my parents headed to the airport. There was a line out the door but we managed to find a few seats at the bar. After explaining our time crunch to Kyli she was amazing at recommending dishes that took less time in the kitchen. Our food came out quickly! The parents shared the fish and chips and a salad. I had a special, Ahi tacos. Everything tasted delicious and the Kyli and Curtis took great care of us making sure my parents made their flight with full bellies. Apparently this place just opened 2 weeks prior, but I wouldn't have known that if Kyli hadn't mentioned it. I enjoyed the food and service so much I went back for lunch the next day on my way to the airport. The grilled fish burger was a yummy preflight meal! Such a relaxed atmosphere with really well prepared food, plated and served by kind, professional servers. They aren't there to rush you through your meal...instead allowing you to relax and enjoy being out. The view of the lake is lovely and also lends to a relaxed feeling while dining. read more

Maybe I was expecting much more but left here kind of disappointed. My steak was about as thin as a cracker and over cooked. Cheese grits were runny and did not have any cheese. I live close to Louisiana and have had amazing cheese grits, these were......not. I did give them three stars because my wife's spinach, artichoke and feta flat bread with balsamic glaze was way over the top good. So was our appetizer (Cajun Tuna Poke). It was like we ordered from two different restaurants! Respond to Owner- definitely going back because while my order was not to my liking , the flat bread, and Cajun tuna poke my wife orders was amazing. I ordered fish taco, my husband ordered chicken sandwich, artichokes pizza and my daughter ordered pepperoni pizza and all our food came out warm. On top of that I found fish bones on my fish taco. We took the server, I felt like she never care, manager cam and all he said "sorry about that." Nice and efficient servers and staff, beautiful place, but the food was some of the worst I have ever eaten. Poorly cooked, often overcooked, flavorless and poorly presented food. I have had better food by cooking frozen dinners from the grocery store. Not just dinner either: they managed to make a chocolate torte taste like a burned brownie. Truly uninspiring and just plain bad: they need to hire new cooks. We tried several different items, and the only tolerable item was the salad. Additionally, half the items were out on the menu, including all fresh fish, and they didn't tell us until after waiting 45+ minutes for a table. Expensive too! read more

I am not one to write reviews, but this is how ANGRY I am with this place. My husband and I walked in to an empty restaurant (that should have been a red flag right there). We sit down and are greeted and told the specials with recommendations of appetizers. We opt for an appetizer, the whipped goat cheese bruschetta which took 30 mins to get to our table!! Our waitress was sweet and very polite and was honest about why it took so long and was very sympathetic. We enjoyed that part of the night, and ONLY that. Time started going on and on and next thing you know 20 mins go by and no food. The waitress came over and apologized and said that the kitchen was backed up. Still very sweet. But I couldn't help but to think she was lying as the restaurant was completely EMPTY. So we WAIT, 15 more minutes no food comes out. We are pissed at this point. I get out of my seat to go up to my server to ask for a manager, who was standing right next to her and the manager 100% completely IGNORED ME. DIDN'T ACKNOWLEDGE ME OR ANYTHING. I know she heard me too! I was in arms length of her, but she just continued to look at a screen and went on with her merry night. I couldn't believe it. It's no wonder why this restaurant is empty, the ignorant management team says it all. Thank you to that waitress for trying her best, what a shame on management. Nice varied menu with several vegetarian options. Service is wonderful. One of our go to restaurants while in the area.

We waited way too long to receive our food. Wait staff seemed overwhelmed. The buffalo ranch sauce on my sandwich had separated and was way too thin. Just can't show enough appreciation to the entire staff that worked the day we came in... unfortunately our dining experience started off pretty crazy and had unexpected circumstances upon entering their establishment. The professionalism and compassion that we were shown by the manager, Jazlyn(sorry for misspelling), to the entire kitchen staff to out server Lisa to the hostess should absolutely be commended by the owners. They really made us feel like ohana by making us feel secure to continue to dine in even after the incident. They don't do takeout orders after 5pm. Not over the phone, not in person. . . But you can order food at the bar (which was empty) or at a table, then just ask for the check and a couple 'to go' boxes with your order . . . Which wastes WAY more of everyone's time. Just left the Fosters Kitchen in Kings Plaza in Waikoloa. The service was very good... Isaiah was our server and he was very informed about the menu and quite personable. The food was some of the best we have had on the Island in 3.5 weeks. Very pleasant atmosphere and we had a lovely conversation with Chris ,the manager. We are first timers and last timers to Foster's kitchen. Our server was lovely and all smiles. Parts of our meal was good, parts of our meal was burnt and inedible and parts of or meal never came. My family of four went there last night. We had to wait well over an hour to be seated so just keep that in mind. (This wasn't a problem as we expected a wait on a Saturday night). My issue was when we were finally seated it took over 30 minutes for a waiter to come to us. Actually, my husband had to go tell someone so we could actually get service. There were many parties that came after us that got service and were able to place their orders ahead of us. Once we finally got to place our orders our waitress knew about our situation but nothing was really done to rectify the situation. (It would have been nice to ask the kitchen to prioritize our orders since we were technically there first and it wasn't our fault no one came to our table). It took a long while for the food to come. The food was just ok. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. I understand that restaurants get busy and mistakes are made but when there is nothing done to rectify the mistake that's when it's a problem. I am so surprised to see any negative reviews here because me and my family had a great experience! Everything was amazing, we got the bruschetta, fish tacos, a cheddar burger, and two steakhouse a burgers (substituted w/ a beyond burger). Our server Isaiah made sure that any food followed our dietary restrictions, which we really appreciated. He was very kind and attentive and made our experience so much better! We walked in after finding out our first choice was totally full and we're very pleasantly surprised. The drinks were delicious, the calamari appetizer was unusual but amazing, and hubby said his shrimp and grits were some of the best he's had (and he spent several months in the Carolinas!). After trying this restaurant 3 times we'll never come back. The 1st time was amazing. The 2nd time the ribs were burnt. This last time was the worst. It took 20 minutes to deliver a beer after ordering. The regular fries were cold (we did say something about them and they brought a fresh order). We were very hungry arriving from a flight. We arrived at 7:15pm and got seated right away, however it all went downhill afterwards. When ordering, the waitress informed us that they were out of many items (why not tell people when they first sit down?!!). We ordered at 7:30 and the (terrible) food arrived at 8:45. I ordered Carolina pork and there was no hint of vinegar in the bbq and 1/2 the pork was fat grissle. I gagged when I took a bite. The mashed potatoes were super bland. Daughter's Mac and cheese just tasted like buttered noodles and son's pizza crust was awful-so bland. No salt whatsoever or flavorings. Worst experience I've ever had between service and food quality. Waitress said she'd take off my meal from bill but then did not until we brought it to her attention. Don't eat here until they hire a new chef!!!! We unfortunately still left hungry and dissatisfied after paying $80 for an awful meal. read more

Manager Preston Branco was very polite. Staff members were helpful and WERE NOT MASK NAZIS! Everything clean, people appropriately distanced and no problems eating inside or out. The atmosphere and waitress was awesome at waikoloa village.. She was professional, kind, and attentive. The restaurant wasn't busy on the evening of 11/24./19. Took 50 minutes to get a flatbread pizza. Appetizer came 10 minutes after that. The food was good. The waitress apologized about the wait. We just shrugged it off and decided to have a nice evening while we waited. The manager came to speak to us about the long delay on our food. This guy is a blowhole! Seriously! Very unprofessional to his staff and guests. Told us there was nothing he could do about the delay because he didn't know how to fix iPads for the orders and it wasn't his fault. He pointed fingers at everyone else. No apologies, just left our table. A professional response would have been appreciated. read more
