I am sorry, but to believe you were mistreated due to race is a completely unwarranted comment. The fact is that you feel so obligated to receive special treatment in today's day and age is something that is wrong with society now. Did you forget that you are not the only ones in the restaurant. There are many things going on during the course of the evening for a restaurant, in which I am sure it was not there intention to make you feel as though you were not a valued customer. Liked the beachy vibe of the restaurant. Very open and tidy. Wait staff was helpful and friendly. We ordered blt sandwich with chicken. The insides of the sandwich was good. The focaccia holding it all together was not completely cooked. This resulted in a completely soggy bottom of the sandwich. My husband sent his back to be crisped up, but they only did the top. Ehhhh. Not my favorite dining experience. Not the worst. We were seated next to a ramp, off the bar, in a sunken seating area. They kept serving over the railing which was weird because you don't expect someone leaning over you bringing your appetizer or drinks in that direction. Also our drinks were never refilled. Not once. They were also in tall, glass cups. The straws sink to the bottom bc they are paper straws and you loose your straw. Silly! Ran out of fries for dinner (I had my kids with me). Ordered mashed potato and they were sticky and no taste. I ordered the calamari and the waitress warned me that it was grilled. It was ok-ish, bland, small slices of the filet. I didn't taste any garlic like it says on menu. I'd never order it again. My Cobb salad was actually pretty good. I think 4-5 shrimp in it. All fresh and tastes great! My husbands burger was like a burnt hockey puck (he ordered it cooked Medium). Should have never have made it off the line that way. Took one bite and didn't eat any more. Waitress noted when table was cleared... the burger wasn't eaten? We didn't want to push it, but she asked again, so we said it was super over cooked. She said she'd talk to the line. I'd think they'd offer to do a no charge for it, but no. Plus we were all thirsty, no one came between when food was served and then when we finished. My husband and I enjoy this place whenever we go time to time. Last night we chose take out like we've normally have in the past. Never had any concerns with anything we've ordered before, but I suggest ordering a salad someplace else. I ordered a small garden salad with ranch and grilled chicken (extra $7.00). This is what was in our bag: 1 slice of grilled chicken for an extra $7.00, and an unwanted fried cheese ball of some sort. My small salad came to a total of $15, which is outrageous if it only comes with 1 strip of chicken and 2 other small pieces. A little disappointed, but will continue eating here because there are other items in the menu that are worthy. I will be sure to avoid ordering any salads though. read more

We ordered the pesto chicken pasta and the steak house pasta. The meals came out and there was absolutely zero seasoning/taste to either of the pastas. Both resembled an Alfredo-like sauce, but they tasted like watered down milk with absolutely no taste. The steakhouse pasta was supposed to have an a Gorgonzola cream sauce with Gorgonzola and steak on top, but it did not resemble Gorgonzola (visibly or to taste) at all. My sister and I came here after a lovely bike ride to the beach. We read the online description of Foster's Kitchen's stating "local," "fresh," "innovative," "scratch kitchen" and were very impressed and excited. Our experience was the furtherest from what this restaurant advertises. To begin with the atmosphere was odd, we ordered a beer and our waitress gave us a seltzer as she stated she thought it was a beer, as she was unclear what a beer was. My Hibiscus heat cocktail was very yummy but the description listed a nice balance between sweetness and heat from jalapeños, but where in the world was the jalapeño? No where to be found. Now onto the food. What a mess. I ordered a ~vegan~ burger and not only was the presentation horrendous and subpar it had meat on it. It took a long time to figure out to get my order corrected. My burger said it came with grilled jalapeños and I received raw jalapeños. My "crispy" onions were stale and had absolutely no flavor. I don't think I have ever tasted an onion with less flavor I am not sure how that was even possible. My sister and I ordered side salads and oof what sad salads we got. The descriptions of the salads and burgers were so detailed and yummy and only let us to be disappointed. My sisters burger was even worse than mine. Not only did it just look so unappealing for what was a $20 burger it was nasty. The meat was grey and gnarly. She asked for medium and got a well done hard chunk of meat on a soggy bun that was not brioche as stated on the menu with half a pickle on top. Also my silverware was dirty if all this wasn't enough trauma for one restaurant experience. Awful service. We got there around 8:00 p.m.(they closed at 10pm) and the server took over 15 minutes to get to us just to bring us water. He asked if we were ready and we weren't so he came back about 15 minutes later and I ordered the stuffed chicken, my husband ordered the chicken fried steak and my kids ordered the chicken nuggets. The waiter comes back about 10 minutes later and tells me that they ran out of stuffed chicken. So I ordered the chicken fried steak like my husband. It's supposed to come on a bed of mashed potatoes. He brings out the first dish and it's tiny. Like literally it's pieces of chicken, not one big chicken. The chicken nuggets were awful too. Way over cooked and dry. Then he brings out the second one and it's on a bed of rice. We asked the waiter "why is this on rice it's supposed to be on mashed potatoes?" He tells us that the kitchen just told him that they were out of mashed potatoes. We told him "why weren't we informed?" We don't want this. It's supposed to be on mashed potatoes. It tastes weird on rice. He tells us well they just told us. We end up getting the bill and my husband asks for the manager and the waiter asks him why? We told him that we're not satisfied and he says that the manager was unavailable and that he can give us $3 off of our meal! Such crap. I will never eat here again. read more

We were some of the first patrons to try out this new location recently and it is really great. The decor is very nice, the space is lovely and relaxing and the food is on point. We tried the calamari appetizer and it was unique and tasty. The fine food offerings of Hawaii are once again notable at Foster Kitchen in Waikoloa, Island of Hawaii. Just reopened December 15,2020, the chef here has reinvented the menu with marvelous dishes. I encourage referencing the menu on their website and wager on doing si, one will salivate at the excellent choices. I highly recommend the Ono if available. Prepared in a wonderful cajun sauce that is a compliment to my favorite fish, it is not too spiced as to detract, but enhances the flavor with a warm,enduring lingering taste on the palate. Also, the chicken linguini is awesome. A pasta of perfection in inexplicably amazing sauce. The service was attentive with every covid precaution observed. Tables amply separated, masks and distance respected. The seating inside or outside. accommodates patrons in fine Hawaii dining style. I placed an order for delivery via the Foster's website at 4 in the afternoon for a 6pm Mother's Day dinner. When my food had still not arrived at 6:30 I started to worry and attempted to contact the Resturant. After numerous busy singles and "voice mail turned off" messages I started to call the Kona location in hopes to get some insight as to where my dinner was. Aron who claimed to be the manager answered I let him know I had placed an order online, it has been over two hours and I was concerned the Resturant never got my order. I asked if I should expect a delivery at all. He stated he "can't wait till this online ordering is no longer a thing" that "I should call the Waikoloa location and he wouldn't be any help getting ahold of them as he would be calling the same number as me" like really? Your a -manager- And you don't have a line cooks phone number? Aron basically told me I was on my own. So why the 4 stars? Because PAULINE you see after I got off the phone with Aron I started calling the Waikoloa location (39 times) and finally I got a answer. A real person, at the Waikoloa location, ready to help and profusely apologizing. She let me know they were simply backed up, that my order was currently being made, that she was personally going to deliver it. 10 minutes later... She texted me from her personal cell phone to let me know she was on her way. PAULINE made my Mother's Day. She knew how important this meal was and she made sure I was not left hanging. Foster's is great. I am gluten free and they had quite a few well-marked choices. Everything was fresh and delicious. I had their lemonade and limeade from scratch, the sausage stuffed mushroom appetizer and also the fish and chips. Terrible. Walked out after waiting for over an hour and a half for lunch, order never came! On top of that, three other tables who arrived after we did received their orders before us! Manager completely preoccupied taking inventory while the limited staff was struggling to serve the customers. Would not recommend this restaurant until they "get it together!"
