We asked the waitress could they either turn off the bar music or the restaurant music because both was very difficult to listen to and was ruining our birthday dinner. This place isn't Covid safe. They put customers as much as they can inside. I was sitting at counter and one side got new customers, so I moved to another side. The waiter told me not to move since they will add more customers. I was very close to other customers and didn't feel safe. Also, my food (only salad) served after other customers got food. Only because there is not negative stars does this even get one star. What a horrible experience, we left before we started. We ordered and then waited almost 40 minutes for our food. The house made buffalo ranch sauce was seperated on my son's order. My sauted vegetables that was supposed to be zucchini, broccoli, carrots and fresh beans was 90% broccoli with one piece of zucchini and one carrot. It wasn't cooked correctly. The part that topped it off for a horrible experience was that my husband found an eight inch long hair in food the hard way, nearly choking on it before pulling it out of his mouth. The manager was very complacent and didn't say anything or apologize the whole time my husband was explaining what happened. Our waitress was the only one to apologize for what was not even her fault. This was our first time at this location and obviously our last ever at either location. read more

What a great addition to Waikoloa dining! It's the only place we visited more than once during our most recent two-week trip to the Kohala coast. Everything was so fresh and good, from the kids' burger to the pork chops (do what it takes to get some of that red-eye gravy!) to the fresh catch of the day. Desserts were great (loved the monkey bread, the strawberry shortcake, and the lava cake -- which is definitely enough to share), drinks were tasty (inventive without being unrecognizable as cocktails!), service was delightful. Delicious food. Would highly recommend the pizza for anyone, or the Mac and cheese for kids. The hostess staff was incredibly accommodating for our big party. However, our server made condescending comments to my friends like: "I couldn't understand a word you just said, you mumbled the whole time" while we were ordering. Made me kinda uncomfortable. The other server that we met was super nice though. Loved the atmosphere inside the restaurant, and they had vegetarian options which I always appreciate. Check this place out. read more

Table of twelve tonight, ranging in age of 13 to 82. All family tonight, food was excellent, service was excellent. Food ranges from fish and chips to shrimp and grits, good flavors, large portions, and moderate pricing. Drinks were flavorful and large. Even the guitar player was very good. This is one of our favorite restaurants, but tonight's togo was a no-go. Our order sat for awhile because the wrong name was on it and we waited for 40 after the initial the 25 minute wait time. When we brought the burgers home, they were not the usual quality and the fries were soggy. Sadly, the fries were also half the usual quantity. We assume it is just an "off" night. We will still support Foster's because it is usually a 10/10, just disappointed with the togo hiccup. read more

We had a great dinner there on November 14th. Our server was a young man from Minnesota or Michigan. He was extremely personable and friendly. The female manager came by and talked to us (she stopped to talk to all diners), again very friendly. The food was very yummy. We will definitely stop by on our next visit. Foster's Kitchen has lost a star with my wife and me for one reason: they do not pour free coffee refills. They have it listed as Kona coffee on the menu--but not 100% Kona. Every other restaurant in the Waikoloa resorts area has free refills. Anyway, the food is still good, and the service is friendly and attentive. read more

Huge menu, fair prices for pretty good food. New place that will probably have growing pains. Added a side of mashed potatoes which was five bucks, ouch. Should've asked about the price there. Wings appetizer was disappointing, not recommended. Our great waitress Pua brought hot sauces to go w them, which was a sign. Just tried Fosters Kitchen in Waikoloa Resort for the first time! I absolutely enjoyed my meal. I had garden salad with house made dressings that were flavorful and delicious. It was our first time ordering from this place and the food wasn't great. My little sister order chicken tenders and they gave her 2 poorly cooked tenders with really bad mashed potato's. I was given their bland pesto pasta while my parents both got flat breads that looked like it could be from a school cafeteria. First time at this restaurant. The salad and the gumbo soup were excellent. However the fish tacos were a huge disappointment. There wash no fish taste in the taco just of the sauce and slaw. My wife had fish bites and they were disappointing. Not very happy with their fish. read more

Great dinner!! Had the steak pasta , steak was delicious, pasta was very flavorful. Daughter had a burger with garlic truffle fries, so yummy. We also ordered the cookies to go, oatmeal, chocolate chip macadamia nut, also delicious. So glad we found this place. Patio seating next to lake at sunset was great. Hostess and server were nice, although no apology for the 45+ minute wait after ordering our food. Other diners appeared to experience the same delays. Two of the five entrees arrived, then another 5 minutes for the remaining three. Food was just ok. They need to work out the kinks in service or they won't survive. read more

Terrible service. Drinks took too long, weren't correct and came out separately for our party. Same for food. Wrong orders, 1 in our party didn't have meal come out till we had already asked to have removed and bring our check. Didn't even offer to put in to go box and give to us. Food was sitting in window waiting to be picked up for long time. Entire window full of food. Management didn't seem to care or just didn't have any customer service experience as 1 worker folding napkins with silverware and manager standing by front door. We were all excited over the great selection of food, but unfortunately it was terrible quality. We had a table of 5 and not one of us enjoyed their meal. Food was not hot, dry, and overall tasted like it was from Mcdonald's. Extremely disappointing considering we paid over $200. Should have known it wouldn't be good when they couldn't get a simple vodka soda right. It also now makes sense why we got seated immediately when all surrounding restaurants had a 1 hour+ wait. The one good thing I can say was our waitress was very kind and thorough, not her fault the food was awful so we will not be returning and will warn others to not eat here. read more

However when it came for food, despite there being a total of 5 customers in the entire restaurant.....they somehow forgot multiple ingredients in the salad and then my drink. I was there in June. Local tour guide recommended Fish Taco and it was great. But the best part is server Nainoa.  He kneeled at our table to be our eye level. You don't see that at high end restaurant anymore. He is pleasant,  pay attention and provide an excellent service read more

Two stars only because we liked our server, Oscar. Otherwise, total rip off and crappy food. Ordered $19 burgers that we asked for as "medium" cooked. They came well, well, well, well done cooked. Actually so overcooked they were hard to chew. Just nasty. Fries served for all three of us were served at actual room temperature. Gross. This place was simply a total rip off.
