The Dena has some great spots and Founders is one of them. Got my second covid vac shot today and wanted warm and filling. I got the penne rose and a side Caesar salad. If you are GF, they have several options. I'm not but the salad was fresh and the pasta hit the spot. I didn't think I'd clear my plate but here we are. Hubby got the fried chicken because that's his go to meal. Cleared his plate too. High praise for the baked beans. The heathen child got grilled cheese and said it was too much cheese. He was wrong. Just released a fun new menu with lots of additions, two of which I tried and were incredible. The hot honey pork belly was the perfect combination of sweet and salty with great texture. I was really looking forward to a tender braised short rib; it was not moist at all as I hoped for! The mashed potatoes and spinach (chewy) were just okay. My husband's meatloaf was not so moist either. My son's cheeseburger was also not moist. The wide sliced tomato and bun consumed the meat patty. Always 5 Stars! We went to Founders last Thursday for live music, dinner, and drinks. This has always been my favorite local restaurant because they always get it right, but I have been particularly impressed with how well they are handling Covid. They are definitely going the extra mile to keep the customers safe and it is apparent the moment you arrive. We had Jefferson mules, strawberry basil gin, and muscles, shrimp tacos, and wings. Everything was fantastic. Ashley was our waiter and she was also great. It was so hot, but once the sun went down we were very comfortable. Cool lunch stop on the way to Millersville for a business meeting. The atmosphere was very welcoming and really made me want to order a whisky since that is what they are known for. I was with my picky boss who is never impressed and usually says everything is OK or not good at all. My boss ordered the buffalo bites and a bowl of French onion soup. I predictably ordered a salad. Their F O U N D ER S FARMHOUSE SALAD romaine, Parmesan, garlic, red onion, hard-boiled egg, pepperoncini, tomatoes, basil & oregano, served with homemade red wine vinaigrette ~ 11, and added chicken $6.00. Our servers were very nice. Servers meaning more than one lady was taken care of us. This was a little confusing and at times inefficient like waiting 10 minutes for drink refills. Our food also took longer than I expected to wait for lunch, so give yourself some time when dining here. Once the food came out I was impressed. The salad very fresh, and the chicken was grilled and seasoned perfectly. However, for the price it was a little on the small side and as for the hard-boiled egg, it was just small pieces of it on the corner. The dressing, though I didn't really use it but to try it, was nice and not too sweet. Overall I enjoyed my lunch and if in the area again would stop in. My boss on the other hand was not a fan. He said his soup was watery and the chicken was basic. I'm not surprised as I noted he doesn't seem to like much that isn't served from the kids menu at Denny's. I am so glad we found this cute restaurant! It made for a perfect date night. The cocktails were on point (we went with the Maryland My Maryland and the Spring Fling Martini, no regrets). Cheese fries were decent, but next time I'm going for the crab dip. The bacon & bleu burger and fried chicken were both spot on. Mac & cheese side was decent, but not as unique as I was hoping for.
