This is one of my go-to dinner spots. One of my favorite things about this place is the fact that it has a parking lot, which is pretty much nonexistent in the city! The service here is pretty good. You can tell they make an effort to give you a good experience. I love the vibe here as well. It's a nice spot for an after-work happy hour, business dinner or a date. I've done all 3! :) The drinks are consistently good. You can tell they use high quality ingredients in their bar. I love their rum punch and mai tai the most. As for food, you can't go wrong with anything. I love their burger and fries. I love anything they sell with short rib and their steaks are always pretty good. Neat spot that can easily be missed. Copper Shark is located across from Don Tigre in Locust Point. I like that there is a dedicated parking lot for the establishment so you don't have to deal with street parking or feel shady parking at the shopping center next to it. I came here for brunch twice and both times were amazing. From the decor and ambience of the place, to the food and service quality, everything was to my liking. Immediately when you walk in you'll see some copper distillery equipment, and a wide selection of whiskey. The restaurant has a modern rustic vibe to it. The mini beignets were yummy, the chocolate espresso sauce that came with it rounded everything out and wasn't too sweet. The brussel sprouts were an absolute favorite. It is full of flavor and accompanied by crispy pork belly. Delicious! The breakfast burrito was a solid choice, especially with the chorizo that came with it. My other half ordered steak and fries and the shoestring fries came out hot and crispy! The mocktails I had were amazing as well. Out of the Bramble had a yummy berry flavor, and the tamarind sour had a slight tartness with an almond undertone to it, making it an interesting NA drink that makes you feel just at home with your alcohol drinking friends. I've visited Copper Shark twice now for brunch and haven't been disappointed! First, parking is easy with a big adjacent lot and service was excellent both times. It's very cozy inside too, I loved the ambiance. Food was also delicious! The cinnamon roll appetizer is to die for (and that cream cheese dip? Perfect cream cheese flavor.. YUM) and I enjoyed my crab omelet! I got the crab Benedict the first time which wasn't as good in my opinion (crab was a little lacking and tasted a bit dry). Friends have recommended The Copper Shark and I came here for happy hour. The happy hour specials are at the bar, high tops, and outside patio. I ordered the Rum Punch which was light and not too sweet. For food, I got their Curried Cauliflower and Beef Tartare. Both dishes were huge and really good. I loved the amount of pine nuts and sweet raisins included in the cauliflower. The inside is nice casual and the bartender was friendly. Early dinner with some friends on a Monday. We shared everything that touched the table. Emma* was our server. She said she had been out for a few months, but we couldn't tell. She was very attentive and when she was unsure/forgot she would come back to clarify (of which we appreciated bc most servers wouldn't even bother). We were initially seated near the bathroom (in an almost empty restaurant) , then spoke with a manager and moved up a couple booths. The fried green tomatoes were very firm. So the texture of the entire dish was off. The crispy fried burrata was a star! More bread maybe. The cavatelli dish was very oily but tasted good. The food was just mediocre for the price, and I probably wouldn't rush to return. Our service, and especially our server Christian, was terrific and super attentive. When I saw jumbo lump crabcakes on the menu, I was super excited and highly considered ordering. However, when two people at my table ordered, I opted for the 14-oz. New York strip. The steak was delicious, cooked to the correct temperature, and presented nicely with fingerling potatoes, asparagus, and a cup of CS steak sauce. As for the crabcakes, you should be ashamed of yourselves. This is Maryland, and anytime I see jumbo lump, I'm usually all in. The crab was backfin meat at best, and compared to what I see for crabcakes in other Baltimore-area and Maryland restaurants that are top-rated for crabcakes, yours didn't come close, both in size and lump meat. It just wasn't there. Our friend, whom we brought for his birthday dinner, was also very disappointed. He had been to the restaurant six times and was eager for us to experience it with him. However, the menu completely changed since he was last there, and the soup, fish, and chips he had raved about were no longer on the menu, and he, too, was disappointed. Lastly, the bread. A great find! We made reservations for Mother's Day! They were busy but handled it like the pros they are! We started with the brussel sprouts and whipped ricotta! The sprouts were perfectly cooked and full of flavor! The ricotta was fresh with fried garlic and fresh herbs. Yum! I stopped into Copper Shark for their last 10 minutes of happy hour just to get a feel for the place. This was my first time visiting as I was just passing by and wanted to check them out. I sat at a hightop table across from the bar. The bar area was cozy with tvs and an extensive bar list. I was helped immediately and was able to benefit from the happy hour menu. The server was attentive and helpful and explained that after happy hour the menu items are still available just at a different price point. Very solid restaurant in Locust Point! There's tons of parking and the menu is seasonal. We were seated outside on a beautiful night and I was pleasantly surprised with how much seating they had outside. Lots of food options for a group and the service was prompt and informative. Stopped for dinner, it was easy to find and there was plenty of off road parking. They have a nice whiskey selection and on Wednesdays there is a bunch 1/2 off! Winning! Absolutely amazing first time experience! Walking in, I was shocked at how cozy and warm the environment felt- the photos definitely don't do this place justice! The bar is to your right as soon as you walk in, the tables are towards the back. We were greeted and actually taken out to the patio because they had an event going on! I've never experienced such a cozy environment inside and out! There were food samples being offered around as well! He was knowledgeable and did a great job walking us through history of each bottle. I've never been able to differentiate bourbon but i definitely did this night- every description he made was incredibly accurate. I was able to buy a bottle as a future gift and they had a truck parked right outside the patio offering engravings... perfect gift, absolutely satisfied with my purchase. Eventually, we were seated for our dinner and got a nice, spacious booth - they have booths and table seats if I'm not mistaken. FOOD- Pan roasted half chicken. I actually ordered this because I looked at photos prior to arrival but something different came out- I'd show photos, maybe some names get mixed up. My food was still fantastic and the presentation was pleasing. I'm looking forward to trying new foods out in the future. I forget who we had as our waitress but she was sweet and also patient while we were making drink decisions. I would've opted to order another drink, as they offered more non-alcoholic drinks on the menu. Now, let's talk about the food! We ordered the blackberry salad and omitted a few ingredients to accommodate the vegan dietary restriction. I loved the portion size of the salad, which was full. The succotash was flavorful and tasty and it turned out to be a good pairing item with the blackberry salad. The zaatar grilled lamb duo was delicious and fully cooked (upon request). The pairing sides and condiments that came with the lamb were great compliments. The house fries were a tasty classic, paired with the ketchup provided. Fantastic Birthday Dinner Experience with Exceptional Service! My wife and I recently visited The Copper Shark to celebrate her birthday, and it was a truly wonderful experience. We had dinner on a Wednesday evening and loved the atmosphere and the excellent service. Our server, Elon, was absolutely fantastic--helpful, knowledgeable, and genuinely pleasant, which greatly enhanced our meal. Food, Drinks, and Specials We started with the Crispy Brussels Sprouts appetizer (held the bacon), which were perfectly cooked and delicious (we highly recommend them!), and the Butternut Crab Soup. For entrees, we enjoyed the rich and flavorful Duck Bolognese Entree and the Shrimp Vodka Cavatelli. We finished the meal with the delightful Bread Pudding dessert, which was the perfect celebratory ending. We took advantage of the Wednesday special, which is half off bourbon drinks, but we didn't arrive in time for the Happy Hour (Monday through Friday until 7:00 p.m.). We had two Negronis and two Wandering Days bourbon cocktails. The savings from the specials were a great bonus! In addition to them comping the bread pudding. We had a really good time and look forward to returning soon. My mother and I were in Baltimore to see Lech Walesa speak on protecting Democracy at the convention center .... and the tavern in our hotel lobby did not look appetizing. We got to The Copper Shark at 8:45PM on a Saturday night and were warmly welcomed. The place has that upscale industrial decor however the ambience was more inviting and less trendy than other places. The leather seating, the prohibition era artwork and the chandeliers ... and the copper burnished lightening was inviting. Also, there were many other diners obviously enjoying themselves. My mother's spicy shrimp cavatelli was not only plated gorgeously, but my gym rat mom who is not excited about ... My braised duck bolognaise was delicious. Rich, yes, so I boxed it up. Delicious? How 'bout I actually and factually ATE IT FOR BREAKFAST THIS MORNING before heading out for th National Aquarium? It was full of a warm spice on rich fatty peppered noodles goodness that paired deliciously with the pinot noir. My mother enjoyed her white (I forgot what she ordered). We were both very happy with the wine list. Our waitress ... why did I not get your name? She took excellent care of us, didn't miss a thing and without the awkward thousand interruptions to ask if we were doing okay. She welcomed us very warmly and asked what we were doing in town and set us at ease for the great meal to follow. I appreciate that she helped me choose my dish. So I stumbled on this place from Google and I was a bit excited because I never been there and also it looked to be pretty high / casual upscale. When I got there there was plenty of parking which is always a plus. The inside was pretty nice. I really liked the wallpaper decor. It was pretty straight to the point. Being as though I only eat seafood there were not a lot of options for me but I did try the rockfish first. I have to say I was a bit disappointed because upon ordering there was no mention of the temperature that it would be cooked. So when I got my meal it was a bit uncooked on the inside which was highly disappointing. I did bring it to the server's attention and he then made me aware that the chef Cooks it at a particular temperature because if you know Seafood then you know that Rockfish is normally cut pretty thick and it can easily be overcooked if cooked too long or at a really high temperature. So I understood that whole dynamic but it would have been nice to have had that mentioned in the beginning so that I could make a choice. But the server was pretty good about it, it kind of seemed like this was a common thing for it to be sent back. I ended up trying a salmon dish which had couscous and pomegranate seeds. The server did ask me if how I would like that one cooked, and I said that it could be medium because salmon is pretty easy to cook and it's not that bad if it's medium to well done. But when I got my meal it was a little bit on the uncooked side in the middle which was disappointing yet again. I ate around the parts that I did not want. The pomegranate was a different touch that I had never tried with seafood so I did appreciate that. But overall I did not enjoy either meal. Of course I did not make a big deal of it because I chose those options even after the server asked me my choice of temperature with the salmon. The amazing part of the whole experience was the strawberry mocktail that I ordered. I don't remember the name but I do remember that the ingredients were some sort of strawberry flavored liqueur or a strawberry syrup of some sort, mixed with club soda, and ginger beer! Sorry to say but that was the best thing that I particularly ordered at this restaurant. If I had to rate it by number I could only give it a four out of 10 just because the food was not only not that great, but for the price points the servings were not to par in my eyes, and even if the foods were cooked at a better temperature for my preference, neither had much taste or seasoning. But the restaurant over all the atmosphere was pretty chill clean the customer service was perfect so I guess there's always some type of balance! We got there around 12:30 and had no issues parking right in front of the door. The parking lot is pretty big which is a plus. When we walked in, they were expecting us and greeted us warmly. Our server brought us water out immediately and took our drink orders while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. The server brought all of our food out in a timely fashion and checked on us based on my opinion a decent amount of times. Service was pretty good. The food however was juts okay.
