They seem to do a lot of call ahead take out, which I plan to do in the future when I'm actually short on time. Fantastic bread from the bakery next door, the pretzel rolls look so good with the roast beef sandwiches, but I don't see myself ever getting anything but the Bahn Mi, lol. Drive up here from downtown to check this place out. They only have ONE soup (which is the soup of the day) today was "Fideo". Tus consisted of big chunks of chicken (including skin, $2.99 am (4.99 lg). I must say the broth was good. Ordered a half tuna sandwich (4.99) to go with it. I thought a little pricey! Lunch crowd consisted mostly of military & workers in the area. I wouldn't excatly drive a l-o-n-g distance to try this place out but if you're in the area, it would be ok. P.S. If you're near Randolph or Pat Booker, this is definitely a solid lunch choice. This was our first visit to Four Kings. The menu consists of a daily special, sandwiches, salads and a soup of the day. I had the Bahn Mi sandwich and let me tell you, it was out of this world. The bread was nice and crunchy, the flavors were bright and fresh. I dreamed of it last night it was that good. My daughter had the turkey sandwich, she subbed regular mayo for the chipoltle mayo and there was way too much mayo on it. My husband had the roast beef and liked it but wasn't too impressed for the price we paid as a family. I was tasked with finding a healthy spot near Randolph AFB for my BF, his coworkers, and myself to dine for lunch today. If you have ever spent any time near Randolph, you probably realize that healthy dining establishments are not easy to come by in this area. So, when I happened upon Four Kings during my search, I was pleased and knew I had found a winner. We arrived at Four Kings a little before noon and were met with a busy dining area and quick service. The BF and myself split the soup special - Chicken and Wild Rice soup. I had the Thai Beef Salad and the BF had the Thai Beef sandwich and followed it up with Banana Cream Bread Pudding. The soup was good but not great. It was definitely fresh and the wild rice tasted great, but the chicken seemed a tad overcooked and it could have used a bit more seasoning. The salad ingredients were fresh and I was pleased to find that the Thai dressing was made with fresh herbs, spices, and vinegar, thus not unhealthy and it added a lot to the salad. The beef was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The BF's sandwich looked amazing and he said it was fresh and he really enjoyed it. He also raved about the banana cream bread pudding that looked delish, but I passed. While Four Kings doesn't have waiter service we had three people come by our table and check on us which was really nice. Having a place with fresh, healthy food close to Randolph is really nice. This little gem, which was unknown to all but one of the coworkers who joined us won't stay that way for long. Everyone dug their meals and I think we will all be back soon. read more

This was our first visit and we loved it! We both had the turkey sandwich, and shared a cup of French onion soup - delicious! We also indulged in dessert - salted caramel brownie and a lemon poppyseed butter bar. OMG! The humor at the beverage station was also appreciated (watch for it when you go in)! I've had this bookmarked for months so I was super stoked that I was in the area and able to check this joint out. + ample parking + friendly service + ample seating inside I had the black forest ham sandwich. My total came out to $8 with a bottled drink so not bad. I kept getting a weird fishy smell as a put the sandwich up to my face which was incredibly off-putting but the sandwich itself tasted fine. The ingredients were noticeably fresh. I ate half and took the rest home to my honey. 3 stars because the flavor was okay. I have no complaints and I wouldn't be against returning. I've been going to Four Kings for about a year now and I've never met a sandwich or soup that I didn't like. I've tried just about all of their regular sandwiches and they are all delicious (I'm not a tuna or pimento cheese fan, but I've heard good things). My current obsession is the Veggie Sandwich--the ginger chili sauce is AMAZING. Four Kings has daily specials that veer off their standard menu and are posted on their Facebook page every morning. I recommend checking it out before heading over. The special is typically the deciding factor in our office if we end up going there or not. Although, if one of the options is Four Kings, we almost always end up going. While their food is great, the service could be better. Occasionally I order for the office and take the sandwiches to-go. One of my colleagues doesn't eat cheese, or any form of dairy for that matter. When I asked for no cheese on one of their sandwiches the cashier asked someone who was preparing food and that's when I saw the infamous eye roll. I could tell by the look she gave that they were not happy with any form of substitutions or changes to their sandwiches, and I've seen other customers receive the same treatment--which I think is unfortunate (especially something that seems as simple as not adding a slice of cheese to a sandwich). Other than that, Four Kings is a great place to grab a quick and delicious lunch. read more

First off, I love Bhan Mi sandwiches. The interesting thing is that they're always different, there's no right way to make them. French imperialism certainly had bad aspects, but the good news is that spreading their delicious breads worldwide allowed local culture to have their way with them and one of those beautiful Frankenstein monsters is the Bhan Mi sandwich. These at Four Kings don't have pâté, but a lot of people are scared of these sandwiches based on their description, even without that divisive ingredient, so I can understand the exclusion. These are voted the best in the city and they are delicious. Bread is fresh and the pork, sauce, and veggies are well balanced. If you've never had one, go here and check it out. Being stationed at Randolph AFB, this place was a convenient lunch spot and I inhaled these little bunfuls of happiness on a regular basis. Also, even if you're not a soup person, just try the soups here. They're always snazzy, and Four Kings often run out before the day is over because they are liquid amazing in a bowl. I had a tomato grilled cheese soup here one time that was so addicting, I felt like tying off and injecting it straight into my bloodstream. read more

My husband and I go just about every Saturday and usually end up meeting friends and family there to break bread. Their sandwiches, soups and desserts are all made from local organic ingredients, veggies etc and do not disappoint. My go to is always the Bahn Mi salad. It's tangy, fresh with a little heat (fresh jalapeño slices) and the Bahn Mi meat is cooked fresh when I order my salad. I love this place and have never tried anything I didn't like here. A little unassuming restaurant in a strip mall next to a base, Four Kings on its face does not seem like it would be much to Yelp about. But based on other yelpers I came here when taking a class in the area. Now, I can only comment on the sand which I ate, which was the Bahn Mi, but that alone is enough to deserve a good review. The bread was fresh and crunchy on the outside, the pork perfectly cooked and tender, and the pickled vegetables were crispy and fresh. The one thing I might change about the sandwich would be to add more vinegar/acidity, but that is a personal preference. It's not a traditional Bahn Mi exactly, but a damn fine sandwich. read more

This was a great mom-and-pop sandwich shop! The service was excellent, and the staff were all very welcoming to my family. I had the Black Forest Ham sandwich. They used a tasty apple chutney and tangy mustard to complement the ham. My husband ordered the Banh Mi sandwich, and he loved it! We ordered the turkey and cheese (also came with applesauce, cookies, & drink) for our toddler, and one of the waitresses also brought out sliced apples for her too. It was really thoughtful.
