They have a self serve system. You can order one to two broths. All you can eat meat and veggies are self serve from their cooler bar. Grab a plate and take whatever you want. They have different types of seafood, thin cuts of meat, eggs, veggies, and noodles. Fountain drinks and ice cream bars are included in the price ($17.99, I think). While you are waiting for the broths to heat, enjoy the homemade peanuts and the carrot salad. Restaurant is clean, self serve bar is clean and stocked, rice is fresh, bathrooms are clean. We were introduced to Hot Pot 7 years ago and this place will always hold a special place in my heart. The owner (we just knew him as "Boss") is so friendly and helpful. The location is small but very clean and well maintained. I love the food, we just sit and eat and eat. I love the veggies,my husband's loves the meat, it's all great. You have to call ahead to order dumplings which we've never done but they look so good so we will the next time we go. It may be different and there are a lot of tips that make it easier so either google how to eat Chinese hot pot or even better, go with an experienced diner. Just go! This place is good and I was super stoked to try it again, since the last time I came here was probably 7 years ago. My family is in town from D.C., and this has been bookmarked for me for a long time, so I decided to take them here. The concept is fun, and the good is yummy. The problem is that they do not run the AC and to have a burner on the table creates a tough environment to enjoy when there is no AC. It is hot in there, at least it was tonight. The food is good and the concept is fun. We all enjoyed the food, and as far as an all you can eat option, to ou $15/person and get soda and ice cream bars included is a pretty good deal. They have a solid selection of meats and veggies to put in the hot pot and the broths are flavorful. The couple who owns the place are very nice and thorough. I honestly cannot believe the 5 star reviews for this restaurant. The food was practically inedible. The edamame wasn't fresh and wasn't salted enough. Both the dumplings and potstickers had hard edges and my sushi roll was not only bland despite the ridiculous amounts of strange spicy seasoning unevenly poured throughout the roll, but the pieces of fish were in huge chunks and the only thing holding the roll together was the paper it was wrapped in since the nori had fallen apart. I ended up just leaving it in a large pile on my plate. On top of all that, I thought it was expensive considering the atmosphere and quality of food. read more

I've been putting off this review for months because every time we go in we're told that the person who makes the dumplings isn't in that day - we've tried 5 different times now and every time we've left sad and dumplingless. Having said that, I still really like this place. The Hot Pot is great fun and you get tons of food. The man that runs the place walked us through it our first time and was very sweet to us, which was very much appreciated since we had no idea what we were doing. We had a great time trying the various things and watching them cook so I've gone back since and have never been disappointed with that, the only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is because it's been so difficult to actually have dumplings and since that's in the name of the place I feel like I should be able to order them more often than not. Unfortunately, I did not get to try the hot pot. I stopped in with a party of four seasoned and authentic Chinese eaters for a snack of xiao long bao, and we were not disappointed! However, the owner had forgotten about our call-ahead, and it took about 20-30 min for our first order of dumplings to appear (which is a totally acceptable time frame in my book for fresh made-to-order dumplings!). We downed 3 servings of xiao long bao (8 pieces per serving) and a bowl of za zhang mien (not as good as the dumplings). My mom said the dumplings were perhaps better than the ones she had in China from a world-famous restaurant there! I compared them to the ones I had a few years ago from Joe's Shanghai in NYC. Four Seasons' xiao long bao had a certain home-made quality about them that I really loved. They were plenty juicy as they should be, so make sure to let them cool down before you eat them! Xiao long bao should be eaten in a single bite, so as not to let any of the juices escape. They had vinegar and chili sauce to enjoy with the dumplings. This is a totally authentic gem in the midst of Provo, and well worth the effort and time JUST FOR THE HOMEMADE XIAO LONG BAO! The hot pot offerings looked pretty good, I will have to wait until I can make it back to Provo to try it out. Four Seasons is a locally owned all-you-can-eat Chinese hot pot restaurant located in Provo. Traditional Chinese hot pot involves a large hot pot with either regular or spicy broth (get the spicy and even if you don't like it too spicy, ask them not to make it too spicy). Once they bring out the broth, the work is pretty much on you to get drinks / food near the "bar". The traditional order is to put meat first, and then the veggies. My favorites were spam, beef, and some fish filet. The beef will cook in 15 seconds, and I'd let the fish filet and spam soak in flavor for about a minute. For veggies, my favorites were potatoes, tofu, and cabbage. These take longer to cook (you want them really soft and flavorful) so definitely leave them in for a few minutes at least. They will also give you a small cup of sesame sauce and chili oil. On your plate definitely mix these two and put your cooked food on it to enhance flavor. Finally, after the meal go ahead to the freezer and pick out dessert from ice cream sandwiches to creamsicles. For cold winters, there just aren't many things better than hot pot. I don't come here nearly as often anymore because there is a new hot pot restaurant in Salt Lake City that's much closer, but I make it a point to come here anytime I'm in Provo and really hungry. read more

I've never been to China myself, but I heard from at least two Chinese friends that this is place to go for authenticity. It's an unassuming little restaurant - the kind of place you could live just blocks away from and yet never even know it was there. But let me tell you, it's worth stopping in. We were greeted by the wonderfully nice couple that runs the place, and seated at a hot pot table. We decided to go with the miso flavored broth - very tasty. Simple, small and unassuming place tucked into a strip mall. Inside is a palace of wonderful flavor a and aromas. The owner took this newbie by the hand and walked me through everything step by step. He is gracious and friendly; you can see that he loves his little place and adores sharing his food with people. This man is cook, buster, waiter, host, etc. He never stops moving. He never stops smiling. When you're in his restaurant, he treats you as thought you're in his home. What a fun little restaurant! We'd never been before, and our host was more than happy (if almost a little too happy) to show us exactly how things worked here. He was hilarious! Even if the food was terrible, I'd have to throw in extra stars for service. Luckily, the food was as good as the service. So that you're not as clueless as I was when you go, here's how things work in a nutshell. You get a big pot of broth. You turn up the heat on said broth. You drop various uncooked food items into the broth. You cook for varying amounts of time, depending on the item. Once done, you go fishing for your goods and serve them up over some noodles or rice. Repeat until full. Rumor has it the dumplings here are quite good. However, you have to call in advance if you want those, as we sadly discovered. Oh well, I guess I'll have to try them next time! Last bit of advice: while almost everything I tried was tasty, the "beef balls" were as weird as they sound. I'd skip them if I were you. read more

I went with a friend not knowing what to expect, and was greeted by a friendly Asian gentlemen who explained the process. A bubbly pot of chicken broth filled the air with savory aromas. We choose from a variety of fresh, raw meats and veggies. The raw stuff was added to the pot, and after 10minutes an amazing soup emerged. The friendly servers will also add a divider to the bubbly hot pot of broth, so you can create two different soups. What a great night out! read more

I've been here twice over the years and was pleased both times. The first was my initiation in Hot Pot. As others have said, it really is a dining _experience_, so, if you're looking for something to do on a date (since I know that's a thing in Provo :P) this is definitely a viable option (unless your picky). The price is all inclusive of drink, dinner and dessert, so it's a clean $15 bill/person. I won't go into details on the logistics of hot pot, as those have already been explained, and the owners do well in showing you the ropes if it's your first time. My only complaint is that the water from the drink dispenser tastes pretty awful. I don't know how to describe bad water flavors, so just know it's not Brita filtered. This is definitely some place I'd return. This second visit I brought two of my aunts and they were both very pleased with the flavors and experience. We have been here a few times and it's the best!! We tried their dumplings for the first time and they were SO good. One was steamed and had pork and cilantro in it and was SO juicy and delicious. The other was boiled and had shrimp and vegetables inside! It was served with this yummy garlic sauce that my husband couldn't get enough of. Hot pot is a method of cooking that comes from the northern part of China. A pot full of Chinese broth of your choice is brought to your table. You go to a buffet table, individually, where there are huge prawns, vegetables, meat of your choice and other delectable treats that are ready to be cooked. You place your food into the hot pot to cook until done. When you're out of food, return to the buffet table and select more food. You continue the process until you eat yourself silly. Now, if you don't want to try the hot pot, the dumplings are just fantastic. The owners, who are from Northern China, make them from scratch. From the menu, you select the type of dumpling filling you want and how you want it cooked - steamed, boiled or pan fried. One of the owners rolls the dough, flattens it into a circle and then fills it with the filling of your choice. This is as authentic as it gets in this valley. The food is a bit pricey but definitely worth it. ------------------UPDATE------------------- If you go in with a large crowd, don't order the dumplings because the owners will try to talk you out of it. We had 8 people show up on a Friday night and the owner said it would take too long to make the dumplings all of us wanted. We ended up going somewhere else that night. This was my first time having a hot pot meal, I was a little skeptical at first because I wasn't sure exactly what the food was and how it was cooked etc. So basically you get a hot pot brought to your table and you get up and choose the meats, veggies, noodles and bring it back to your table and it all cooks in front of you in the hot pot. The have variety of meats including chicken, fish, shrimp, crab, and beef. Veggies they had were broccoli, squash, zucchini, potato. For the broth you can choose different types, we got the spicy chicken broth. Oh and this place is ALL YOU CAN EAT!! And you can end your meal with free ice cream! read more

I don't really know what happened, i see that most others rate this place highly, and I've heard from friends how great it was too. But it was probably one of the worst dining experiences I've had. Just to highlight: not enough plates or cups (my wife and i shared a glass all night and the staff were backed up washing dishes), food buffet station was half empty and we kept having to ask them to refill it, food was not actually very good. I wanted to walk out so many times. So maybe I had a fluke night? The staff were really friendly and I'd give them 4 stars. Maybe they were under staffed that night, but for whatever reason, dinner service that evening was a disaster. Advice: i don't know...try it out maybe since there are so many high reviews? They have spicy soup, chicken broth, and miso soup base. We had spicy and chicken ones, which were very good but be careful with the spicy one because it's real hot. I absolutely love this place. My wife and I have been here at least two dozen times over the last 6 years. If the owners are both there (a really nice Chinese couple) are both there, ask the wife if she can make you some dumplings. They're to die for. So stopped in based off Yelp reviews on a Friday for lunch. BE AWARE!! We were told only hot pot was being served at that time, no dumplings or noodles --bummer! So OK. we were game to try. Ordered spicy hot pot;(we love spicy Asian food and pho so...). Waited a while for the broth to arrive then were directed to a salad bar type station to pick out ingredients. Okaaayyyy...owner was very nice to help us to understand how to cook it but be aware..THIS IS NOT A QUICK LUNCH. Also at the end of the day you get soup, pho if you will, that you cook yourself. So if you want to go to a restaurant to cook your own food, this place is for you Broth is very good, staff very friendly. I'd advise (unless you know you like them)/skipping/minimizing the fish/shrimp/beef balls and stick to the fresh meats (although shrimp are shell on making eating them out of a soup difficult) veggies and noodles. Probably a better dinner option, (especially at $32 for 2 of us!!!!) if you like to make your own food like fondue. I might come back for the dumplings but the hot pot experience was just meh for me. My coworker and i checked out this place yesterday while taking our lunch break. Pleasantly surprised how super friendly the owner was. He explained to us how long typically each ingredient is cooked. Food was good. My Venezuelan friend had his very first taste of fish balls and shrimp balls and he loved it. This mom and pop restaurant is great. Just be prepared to try something new. The man is great he noticed our confused faces and walked us through what to do. Just know you will be putting everything into the same pot to cook. So watch out if you have allergies. My group went with the Miso broth, which I really liked. We then loaded up with all our goods. The fish was a favorite. The beef balls were a bit odd as they were very processed. I enjoyed the veggies as well as the lotus flower (I'm pretty sure that was what it was). My favorite noodles where the bean noodles as they were very small and delicate which paired well in the miso broth. As we found out, if you want to order some dumplings you must call ahead as the man said, "2 hours good, a day before better!" I will defiantly have to call for them next time! I loved dinning here it was such a unique experience and it is great to find a restaurant in Provo that isn't a chain! The best part is the meal comes with ice cream bars at the end! read more

Took the advice of our fellow Yelpers and checked out this place during a recent overnight in Provo. We fell in love with it. It was a little daunting to walk in and be the only ones there (I usually HATE that) but it worked out perfectly because we had the attention of the owner all to ourselves. Since it was our first time, we had no idea what we were doing but he patiently walked us through everything. If you're doing the hot pot (which I'm starting to think is the only option as the person who makes dumplings was in China when we visited) you sit at a table with an induction cooktop. Then you have your choice of broths - hot and spicy, chicken or miso. We went with chicken. He brings out the pot of broth and gets it bubbling on the cooktop. Then you head to the buffet and choose from a nice selection of raw meats and seafood, veggies and noodles. Trust the guy when he pushes you to the lily flower - I wouldn't have chosen it on my own but I'm glad we did - it was awesome. Back at your table, he starts tossing stuff into the broth based on how long it needs to cook. He basically teaches you the first time and then lets you have at it - as much as you can eat. The key here is the dipping sauce - some combination of soy, ginger, sesame, peanut and garlic and it is delicious on everything. We couldn't get enough and would have bought a bottle if it had been for sale. Drinks and ice cream (a selection of frozen treats like popsicles and ice cream sandwiches) are included with dinner which ran $13.95 a piece. Great deal for a great experience. read more

I read the reviews here and had to go try it out. For those that are more familiar with Japanese cooking think shabu shabu and gyozas on steriods. The owners are very friendly! I walked in not knowing what to expect and they were very nice. There are two types of dumplings, ones like gyoza, but also another type that are much larger.
