Tea experience at The Four Seasons
Christina G.

This is an annual Tea experience for my friend and I. Cocktails, Tea, savory and sweet treats with a view. The Winter Warmer A-Tea-X - Afternoon Tea Experience is seasonal, Sep 25 2025 thru Jan 4 2026, on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm It's $78 pp You do need to make your reservation well in advance when they open up. This year, we reserved for Friday Jan 2nd. And unfortunately, our server was a bit rushed and not as friendly. It seemed very transactional and not the great experience we've had in prior years. The mini sandwiches were ok, but the bread was dry as if it has been sitting out too long. You get 1 of each of the 4 sandwiches. The sweets were delicious. Especially the mini scone and cheesecake. The tea was ok, not hot enough and the loose leaf was all in my cup, I couldn't even finish it. Overall it was an ok experience this year. What made it great, I got to spend the time with my dear friend! We'll be back next year and hoping for a better experience!

The cutest high tea for my bachelorette!! Food was great but the staff were even better

Celebrated my friends birthday here for their afternoon A-Tea-X experience ! It was absolutely perfect. Their mocktails were sooooo delicious, I got the Blueberry one. All the little sandwiches and pastries were also very good. Service was great. 100% would recommend to go with your girlies!

The sheets alone get 5 stars! We checked in during a busy weekend.... Football, car racing... and we were made to feel relaxed from the start. Though I am not a UT fan, I found the celebration of school spirit contagious. So fun. The bar had great live music and strong drinks PLUS enough seating for our gregarious group. Three thumbs up.

Did you see the bats? A delicious cocktail

Looking for some Christmas cheer? Come here! This beautiful hotel has seasonal displays of other 4 Seasons hotels around the world made out of gingerbread, a giant polar bear to take photos with, an outdoor skating rink, and so many lights. The food and drinks were divine and came out quickly despite it being a busy night. I would recommend this for a sparkly date night or night with friends.

Came here for the Ice Rodeo at 6pm and so beautiful! I would have given five stars because of the hot chocolate drink didn't get replaced on a timely manner. Otherwise, the hot apple cider was good. We didn't rent the cabanas was early to get a table. We got charcuterie board and s'mores kit and hit the spot! The skating shoes were well maintained. I've got really rough and needed re smoothing after an hour. Nice area to walk around and the cabanas are great for bigger group. It was magical and our server Anna Laura was good and friendly.

Had an amazing spa service today! It was a full sensory experience, absolutely one of the best spa sessions I've had. Highly recommend!

Go to Ice Rodeo!!! Had the most AMAZING time at the Four Seasons Ice Rodeo. I'd recommend going a slightly chilly day to make it feel extra Christmasie and get a cabana to sit by the fire and roast some marshmallows for s'mores. The holiday lights and decor are stunning and beautiful. My favorite drink was the Floral Elixir. I'm not huge on sweet drinks and this was made perfectly. Also you have to get out on the ice rink. I hadn't skated since I was a kid and slowly, but surely it comes back to ya lol had the best time! Thank you Four Seasons.

Holiday decorations at the Four Seasons is one of my faves in downtown Austin! Their gingerbread display is fun, playful and festive! This year's display in the lobby and on the grounds is no different and will definitely get you in the holiday spirit! We visited Four Seasons today for their afternoon tea at LiveOak - A Tea X. But we can't wait to come back at night for the beautiful lights outside. A must visit for the holiday splendor

We also dined at Nido, the hotel's restaurant, for both dinner and breakfast, and it was definitely a highlight. Located on the topmost floor, Nido offers stunning views of the river and downtown Austin. With both indoor and outdoor seating, the ambiance is elegant and ideal for a special evening. During our visit, we saw a couple of groups celebrating birthdays and wedding anniversaries, which shows how perfect this place is for special occasions. The pricing is on the higher side, but it matches the upscale experience and beautiful setting. For dinner, we ordered the Burrata as an appetizer and the Autumn Garden for the main course, along with an American IPA and a Jack Frost cocktail. Everything was delicious, but the Burrata truly stood out as my favorite. Breakfast was equally enjoyable--we had custom-made omelettes with veggies and avocado toast, both fresh and flavorful. Overall, The Loren Hotel, along with Nido, offers a great blend of comfort, excellent food, and a beautiful atmosphere. A perfect choice if you're looking to celebrate something special or simply treat yourself to a high-end experience.

The Friday night gathering was amazing. It was a perfect setting on the eight floor to talk, mingle, and meet new people. The evening was warm enough to go outside on the balcony/deck and have conversations and enjoy a breeze. The room itself is large with a water station and a bar. A few short tables were set up for sitting and a few tall ones for standing. They had a nice selection of drinks from beer and wine to mixed drinks. The food included lobster rolls, sliders (chicken and beef), a tray of different veggies and dips, little balls of cheese and something, and aroncini? My favorite was canapés of Mellon and prosciutto. The saltiness of the prosciutto added to the flavor of the melon. This event was 5***** I blame the architect for the room setup. Why would you put bedrooms on the side of a hotel next to traffic. The noise, honking and sirens. It finally quieted down around 11:30. Saturday was also an issue. They do provide ear plugs and sound machines, neither works for me. I was also surprised there was no lotion in the room. There was no microwave. Everything else in the room was top notch. Robes, slippers, a safe, a bar, and fridge. Overall, the noise is what created the 3*** rating. That was very disappointing.

While I mostly kept to the hotel, when I did venture out, I found that there were lots of great dining options within walking distance. My only nitpick is that the Wi-Fi was unreliable, which I've seen mentioned in a few other reviews. My first night, there was an outage throughout the entire hotel. If this stay were not reimbursed, I would have removed a star considering rooms average $500 a night and reliable internet access is expected. However, I was given 2,500 bonus points after calling the front desk when I first noticed I didn't have service. Completely unexpected but very much appreciated and yet another testament to the great service here.

I so wish I'd taken a picture of the shower! The shower was luxurious and I started each day feeling like I was showing in a spa. I definitely will stay here again next time I am in Austin!

We were supposed to receive nightly turn down service and got one bottle of water and two mini "moon pies" one of the three nights we were there. That was it. The "Butler Pantry" in the morning is kind of a joke. The decaf coffee was cold and the regular coffee was empty one of the three mornings. The Biscoff biscuits and apples were inadequate to qualify as anything other than a nice gesture. The restaurant was closed one of the nights for a "private party" and booked the next night, so we were not able to dine there (we were busy the third night). The accommodations were nice and the shower was great, but not worth the price we paid. We had to call room service for ice, so that was kind of a pain, but they were very quick in bringing it, so not a big deal. I would not stay here in the future.

We had a clean and tidy suite on the first level. Two double beds were comfy and plenty of towels. Our first night's stay was decent. Surprised to know they seem to use softened water because it made our skin feel slippery. I noticed the shower gel holder was falling out of the wall. A precarious situation of having to carefully pull the mechanism to dispense without pulling too hard. I did notify the night staff but the next day, it didn't seem like anyone came to fix it. No extra body wash or soap was provided even when I asked for some. The wall sockets with the en-suite appliances was not usable. The electrical outlets weren't working so we couldn't toast anything, use the kettle, or the coffee machine. Couldn't find one with a GFCI breaker to reset that side so gave up. Interestingly, the full-sized fridge and microwave were working ok though. The rod for one of the window curtains fell off while opening them. Because it's floor to ceiling we just left it alone. The common spaces around the property are well decorated, from the Library, Executive board room, kids corner, gym/yoga studio, and outdoor lounge space. Although, the snack/tea/coffee station with Keurig isn't filled maintained often. We had to ask the night staff to refill the water for tea and the lobby water dispenser was constantly low as well. On our second to last day, I found the hot water and still water station downstairs at Simona's. Pros: Clean, comfy, affordable stay. Enjoyed the bottomless drip coffee $5 and their signature Breakfast at Tiffany's latte. Also appreciated them letting us do late checkout and upgrade our room. Cons: Complimentary water station, Keurig / snack station, overall maintenance of room amenities could be handled better. Warning: If booking from 3rd party (BILT, Capital One Portal...) the added parking is not the same price that's on Colton's House's website. It's actually $40/day (with in/out privileges). However if booking directly through Colton House for stays, parking is 50% off at $20. Would we stay here again in the future? Most likely not. For an SLH property, we may look for another better-maintained option in the future.
