Love love love Fox & Pearl. I usually dial in on a favorite menu item at restaurants and order that repeatedly. Since the menu at Fox & Pearl is changing constantly (due to seasonal availability of locally sourced ingredients) I'm typically trying something new each time. While the menu is small, especially for vegans, there's usually a salad in the small plates section - I've tried 3 or 4 versions at this point and all were delicious. There are two sizes ($8 or $14) and the larger size is generous enough to eat as my meal.

Vibes, amazing. Service, wonderful. Food was incredibly delicious and we can't wait to come back. The bone marrow was so flavorful. The Sunday night smash burger was seasoned so well. Fries with house aioli were amazing likewise. The Chicken Tagine was to die for, chefs kiss. Our drinks were perfectly crafted as well.

I'm conflicted with this review as part of our meal was exceptional and the other just meh. The location and setting was super unique with a mix of plants and decor that is a mix of a library and speakeasy. The service was just odd, the hostess and bar staff were indifferent at best and appeared to hate their lives, our waitress was great though. The small plates were outstanding, mushrooms, fries and charcuterie were unexpectedly good and exceeded my expectations. The charcuterie doesn't include cheese which seemed odd to me but wow, the combo of meat and veggies was outstanding! The steak was our main dish and was fatty and lacked flavor. I've had much better steaks for the money. They are known for their pork chop which was our other main dish and for me was overcooked, dry and chewy and while smokey lacked flavor maybe because it was overcooked cooked. I'd go back and stick with the small plates.

I was so excited to try this place and felt a little let down. I made a reservation for a birthday and marked that in the online reservation. We also told the waitress when we were seated that it was a birthday. Some places don't do anything, so I wasn't upset until we saw that the table next to us was celebrating an anniversary and had a special note on the table. Not a huge deal, but something would have been nice. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful, even helping to make some menu recommendations. There is a designated parking lot that was easy to use and find so that was a plus. The dinner itself was good. We started with the cheese curds, which felt pretty standard. There were also a few surprise fried pickles mixed in. I don't eat beef or pork, so my options were limited but I was excited to try the Beet Penne. The pasta was delicious, so many things going on but they all worked together! I would definitely return if I saw something interesting on the menu, I feel like I can count on this place to knock an entree out of the park. Things took a turn when we got to dessert. We ordered an ice cream flight, and it came out with a hair on it. They took it back and made us a new one, but not a great start. We also ordered a creme brûlée ice cream that was supposed to be torched. When they brought it out, they didn't say anything about not torching it and when we asked they said that they didn't have the torch in the kitchen. They didn't really offer to bring anything else or take that scoop off the check. For a nicer place like this, I think I just expected a bit more and the issues with dessert put a damper on the whole meal.

Decided to come here for our Anniversary and loved that they were able to find a tucked away spot for our dinner. The food was pretty good, the service was great and the whole experience was really nice overall. The fact that they offer an upstairs and downstairs area really makes this place unique as it gives two different moods.

I've visited a few times, however I've never ordered off the Fox and Pearl menu. Instead, I've ordered off the Night Goat BBQ menu - Fox and Pearl's blue collar alter ego - which is available on select days. Craft barbecue with a hint of a southwest influence cooked low and slow over oak and hickory with a sweet sauce on the side. Meat plates, tacos and sandwiches are available. Super sides like potato salad, cheesy grits and smoked jalapeno slaw are, too. Feel free to pair your meal up with an adult beverage option from the fully stocked bar. If it's available - the downstairs is a vibe. The hollowed out space gives off Grandpa's basement vibes with a working record player stocked with your favorite 1950s and 60s records and a small bar in the corner.

I came here for a special event with queer dinner club. Walking in we had a complimentary charcuterie board which was delicious, I loved the pickles. I wanted a mix of some small plates so I ordered shishito peppers, fries, and the farro salad. The peppers were perfect for a fresh taste, the fries were super seasoned and flavorful with the classic salty, sugary, peppery seasoning. You definitely have to be okay with a ton of seasoning. Lastly I was looking forward to the farro salad but it was extremely salty and fake smokey. It overwhelmed even my palette which loves salt and bacon. The fruit was even super salty and smokey so I couldn't get any relief. It made me sad I couldn't finish it because it looks beautiful and the textures and pecans were great. The service was decent and the space itself is very cool. I would go back and try new things. There is parking behind the building.

Holy Meat, Batman! We were lucky enough to score tickets to an incredible meal at the Night Goat collaboration with Swade lunch. The meat was perfection and needed no sauce, however we had to partake and enjoy the mustardy Carolina-style goodness of one of the two sauce choices we had. The spicy slaw was a great kick and paired perfectly with the pork and the flank steak. But I can't forget the pickles, which were way better than grandma's! The mocktails were colorful, inventive and very tasty. I love this restaurant and the communal vibe. Our server was amazing and we walked out with full bellies, a little buzz and had a wonderful, relaxing day.

Went to this place for a bach party and it was a hit!! we were seated in the basement, which is a dark medium sized room with a bar. It kind of reminded me of a speak easy. The only comment i have about that is it seemed a little too dark. It was hard to see our food when it came out, which was not a huge deal but something to note. A few more lights would be nice! The food was delicious!! overall, we did not have any huge complaints with the taste or presentation. The only thing i did not enjoy was the NA pina colada that tasted like an old bitter pineapple drink. It was not super cold and was a small cup for being a mocktail. Besides that, the waitress was kind (she even took a picture for us!!). Our favorite was the charcuterie board which had pickled veggies and various meats. Definitely worth the price. I highly recommend this place for a date night or a night out with the girls

Had a fun evening of small plates and cocktails. Great old building with a metal stairwell to downstairs dining. There was a wedding reception occurring in the lovely and shaded outdoor space. The wedding g didn't detract from our indoor experience and wait staff was very responsive and helpful.

My better half and I celebrated our anniversary at Fox & Pearl as first-timers at this wonderful spot! Situated in a lovely part of town, 30 seconds off I-35, and in a gorgeous, historic KC building, Fox & Pearl was a wonderful place for us suburbanites to celebrate a big occasion! We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation, but were promptly shown to a lovely seat by the windows. As we perused the menu, we were offered some champagne to start our meal, which was a wonderful idea! The menu is straight-forward and easy to navigate: about a dozen small plates and a half dozen entrees. We decided to order a few small plates to start with, all of which were outstanding! I think the biggest "good surprise" was the carrots and beets dish, which had a rich, smoky undertone to it, and a really lovely, fresh cream sauce! We also enjoyed the bone marrow dish (awesome!) and short ribs (delectable!), and then felt it was time to try an entree. We shared the ravioli, which was absolutely fantastic! Super creamy, the opulent cheese really stood out. My wife tried one of the handmade cocktails, which was really bright and fresh as well, and had a super-unique flavor profile. By middle age, it's pretty rare to feel like you're tasting a new flavor profile, so it was quite the treat! The dining room we were sat in had a front-row view to the kitchen, which as a foodie, I absolutely love! Our waitress was attentive and very helpful, especially as first timers! Checked out Fox and Pearl's BBQ Menu and it was surprisingly good! My faves were the flank steak and the pork belly tacos. And their fries are so flavorful! I enjoyed a cocktail and their beautiful well-lit space. They even have a speakeasy style bar downstairs on the weekends. I will definitely be back. Hey we're kind and inviting.

Did the brunch pop up for Night Goat (I've previously been here for dinner before). I was delighted by the drink options (the michelada was good! Spicy!) The menu looked really good but the food was unfortunately subpar. (I feel like the idea was there, but the execution was flawed) the slaw is good, spicy, and ginger wasn't overbearing. The hotdog was a miss..bacon was soggy instead of crispy, the dog was cold and lacked flavor, and the bun was a soggy mess from the juice of the pico. The flank steak was dried and chewy (in a bad way) the pork sandwich was good, bun needed toasted a little longer so it didn't get soggy from the wet of the slaw. The pork belly tacos were great, the pork belly was cooked perfectly, like the Montreal style cut in the seasoning (very good flavor!) who doesn't love Carmello tortillas though?! Some of the best products out of Lawrence. The staff was great, friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is fantastic, great lighting, plants, and color scheme.

TLDR: MUST EAT HERE. You can't go wrong dining here…read more In the short amount of time that I've lived in KC, I've dined here 4? 5? times. I can't believe I haven't written a review yet bc this place rocks my socks off!! The thing that blows my mind is that I've never had a bad meal here. We usually order 5-7 dishes here, and not a single one has been bad. Sure, we've had one, maaaaaybe 2 items where we were like, "okay, that was good but not amazing"--but it's rare. The first time I came here, I looked at the menu and was like, none of these words mean anything to me and some of these straight up sound like Harry Potter spells, but then the food comes and EVERYTHING tastes amazing. It's magical! The menu does rotate frequently, but somethings stay on for a while, like the cauliflower. Never have I ever been so excited about a head of cauliflower, but this one is just so delicious with the nuttiness of the almond slivers and the mild spices from the romesco. YUM. That's a dish you'll have to get! The cocktails are equally magical! The seasonal spritz is my go-to. Definitely don't snooze on the cocktails. They also have an interesting list of wines too, for those who are into some funky stuff. **They do have a sister restaurant called Anjin (which is supposed to be a "Japanese" Izakaya-esque experience) but as a Japanese person, it was a hard no for me. The Antler Room is definitely the better of the two.

Upon his suggestion, plates should be shared, we ordered the following: Cauliflower - this was a delicious dish, highlighted by the perfectly executed romesco 5/5. Honey Roasted Carrots - the use of honey indicates a certain flavor that you would pick up on which was void of this dish. 3/5. Chicken Dumpling Bao Buns - these bow buns had perfect tooth feel, and the chicken was flavorful. 4/5. Scarpinocc - the parsley sauce was creamy and the dark meat rabbit was very moist. 4/5. If you have not eaten at the antler room, it's definitely worth the dining experience. They have a nice open kitchen and it's enjoyable to watch the chefs working on each dish as a well orchestrated team. The bartenders work as a team and the service was excellent. And last, but not laced was the Beehive dessert 5/5. This alone was well worth the dining experience.

My colleagues and I went to Tannin on a random Sunday based off a recommendation from another business owner. He said that they had a killer wine list and great apps. And he was right! What we didn't know was that we picked the best day to go for a group of 6 people. Sunday's buy a bottle get one free really suited our group. We ended up ordering two bottles of white and two bottles of red ($40-50 price range) and shared those between the six of us. We were also allowed to cork-and-carry any wine that we didn't finish. We ordered and shared the following appetizers: cheese & charcuterie, roasted red pepper hummus, crispy shrimp, pommes frites, and chicken shawarma. All of it was great - especially the chicken shawarma. Why this review isn't 5 stars: We were there to ask questions about different wine profiles and really learn about what we were drinking. This task seemed out of the comfort zone of our server, which we thought to be odd. However, there was another gentleman there (whose name I have unfortunately forgotten) that really helped us out and steered us in the right direction all night. His recommendations did not disappoint. The other reason is that the rest of the menu is at a high pricepoint. We only ordered appetizers because of this. Overall - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

It's a lovely restaurant. It seems a bit out of the way with mostly corporate buildings around. The restaurant has a nice modern aesthetic. I like the purple hyacinths hanging from the ceiling in one area. It was very steady for an off time in the afternoon. First, our server Olivia was amazing! Very attentive and we were extra needy this day so I really appreciate her patience. We even dropped food on the floor. Oops! She was so nice about it and cleaned it up immediately. We had customizations and extra requests. No problem for her! She went above and beyond. I hope she sees this because she was such a joy! The food was also very good. We started with the biscuits and one peach compote and one blueberry. Both were yummy. They were traditional drop biscuits and I love a good biscuit! We also had an order of fried green tomatoes on goat cheese grits. You get 4 very large slices. I could only eat one. The grits were yummy but there were not enough of them in relation to the friend green tomatoes. They were also encased by a sauce. I'm guessing a remoulade. I don't really care for remoulade sauce so I'd have removed it had I known it came with the dish. It really overpowered the goat cheese taste in the grits. The tomatoes were very al dente and I would have preferred them cooked a bit more. The dish was still good but my least favorite and I would normally love anything with those ingredients and fried green tomatoes are a favorite so the remoulade (or whatever it was) sauce was a real problem for me. I would definitely get them again without the sauce because they are great otherwise. But that sauce just overpowers every other flavor! I got the chicken tender dinner and others in my party got the bone in fried chicken. Everyone liked their chicken. The tenders were a big size. 4 of them but I hit 2 meals out of them. Everyone liked the Parmesan rosemary potatoes. I really liked the bacon green beans. The only side we weren't impressed with was the Mac and cheese unfortunately. The cheese was not good. We got coffees and a chai. All of them were very good. A bit pricey for the amount you get though. Even with the smaller complaints, I'd still give th a 5 because of the outstanding service and the dishes were overall very good and large portions. We will definitely return and I hope to try out a breakfast item next visit!

Every detail feels intentional, from the plating and presentation to the atmosphere itself. As someone who appreciates design, Noka absolutely delivers. Food-wise, there were two undeniable stars of the night: * Wagyu Nigiri (100/10) - One of the best bites I've ever had. Rich, buttery, perfectly balanced, and worth ordering every single time. * Crab Campanelli (11/10) - Absolutely incredible. Comfort food elevated to fine dining quality. If I came back tomorrow, I'd order this again without hesitation. Other highlights: * Filet (10/10) - Beautifully cooked, incredibly flavorful, and paired with perfectly prepared bok choy. Everything on the plate felt intentional. * Night Market Wings (8.5/10) - The quality was excellent. The sweet heat profile just wasn't exactly my personal preference, but that's purely subjective. If you enjoy spicy food with a lingering, slightly numbing heat, you'll probably love these. * Shrimp Tempura Roll (8/10) - Very good and executed well. * Tuna Roll (7/10) - Good, but it was the least memorable item compared to some of the standout dishes we ordered. Noka excels at creating a complete dining experience. Beautiful atmosphere, thoughtful presentation, excellent service, and several dishes that genuinely surprised us.
