When I refused to upgrade, he gave me the worse car in the lot, I asked him for the other ones in the same category and he simple denied me. I wish I could give this place zero stars. You wait in line for at least an hour. (They should have an express prepaid reservation line) Then when you get to the counter their employees downstairs are too busy doing God knows what because they can't answer their phones when the counter agent calls downstairs so you wait even longer because they have to provide a stall number to complete the reservation. To give Fox Rent A Car some credit, they did run out of the size of car I reserved but gave me 1 size up at no charge. The car was brand new (it didn't even have license plates yet). The part that frustrates me the most is how quick they are to take your money but slow as hell to return your $150 deposit. They say up to 14 business days. Well it's been 15 days and no deposit return, no call, no nothing. I will be reporting this place to the BBB for stealing my deposit. In summary: Service = poor Car = good My recommendation is to pay a little more elsewhere for better service and less wait. Well what can I say, everybody was right. long line to pick up the vehicle etc but something I just notice is that the front desk people offer gas a$3.19 saying is cheapest than outside average but the one thing they forgot to mention is that NO MATTER how much gasoline remains in the tank, mean 3/4, or half tank.... guest what? They charge you for the full tank!!!!! I called customer service and after be waiting for 51 minutes I asked the representative why did they charged around $70.00 over the deal I had with Expedia and he just told me they charged me the full tank of gasoline. Awful service. Arrived after 15 hour flight and there was a mix up on their reservation system. It was an easy fix all the customer service rep had to do is call their customer service or fix himself. Instead he insisted I book a new reservation with him at a 30% higher rate for the same car. I said I would just go somewhere else and he said ok and didn't care obviously. No one else was in line, very slow, I was the only customer so it's not like he was too busy to help. This same issue happened before with then but their reps at their desk at Sea Tac airport always fixed it easily. So I went and called fox and 20 minutes later they fixed it by phone then I went back to him and told him it was easy someone just had to call his company. He said ok and never even apologized. Then I walked to car they said keys would be inside - freezing weather and I did not have a jacket. No keys in the car which was far from their booth. I tried to find their staff - one was hanging out in a Parker car listening to music. He said I would need to walk to the office due to system issues sometimes the keys aren't in the care. He eventually offered to walk and get the key for me, so at least I was able to leave with the car after about a 1 hour total delay. Upon exit however they parked a car somewhat blocking the exit booth so very hard to navigate into the narrow space and then no one was at the booth for several minutes. However once the rep arrived at the booth he was polite. Drove off to discover rear view mirrors (both sides) so covered in water spots almost impossible to see clearly while changing lanes at night. Won't rent her again. Never had any issues like this with enterprise or hertz or Alamo or Avis or thrifty. read more

My wife and I had an experience so bad we both shamefully feel ripped off by the nice lady with a pleasing set of arguments. We paid $1,000. for a car my wife had been guaranteed to cost some $350+ for the period: 9-4-2018-9-18-2018. To make things worse the SUV upgrade they offered turned out to a Purple Jeep. You may wonder why we just didn't request another car. Reason: the line was so long for the so called lower rate we couldn't imagine waiting another hour in line. Key for you: Do Not Buy Their Insurance-No matter -what they say about your coverage not handling time in the shop. This insurance comes in Silver-Gold or Platinum. Just say no. Just say no. Worst rental car experience I have ever had . Slow check in (90 minutes) . Car smelled like smoke. Instructed by Fox that we could exchange the car in Portland . We went to the airport and they don't even have a location there. When we returned our Smokey rental in Seattle , we accidentally left our 3 year old son's blanket and stuffed animal in the driver's seat. It's been over 2 weeks and despite more than 20 calls, numerous emails, and contacting corporate we still have not received a return call or email from Fox. WORST EVER!! read more

Boy I wish I had checked out the reviews before I rented here. I got a good deal ($60 w/tax for 3 days), but I would have paid double for fast service! I believe Priceline says its only .3 miles away from the airport, but it was about a 10 minute shuttle. And the shuttle? I waited FORTY minutes in the freezing cold for it. And that was after I called their 800 number 3 times to request one. I was tempted to just go inside and rent from enterprise. When we finally arrived at the lot, it was in a dimly lit area. The employees were friendly, but that was the only plus. Thank God there weren't any damages to the car when I got it because I wouldn't have been able to see them if there were! The car was in an uncovered, dark lot. I got In and waited for it to warm up for 10 minutes. In the meantime, I gagged from the smell, which was of a skeezy lady of the evening. I pre paid online to rent a convertible. When I showed up to pick up the rental convertible I had paid for, guess what? It wasn't there. The agent spent 20 minutes attempting to locate the convertible, which turned up empty. I was forced to take a Dodge Challenger, which the agent continually assured me "You'll love it". You know what I would have loved? The convertible which I booked and pre paid for online. To quote Jerry Seinfeld: "You know how to take the reservation. Rented jeep at airport 06/19. Left for 3 week vacation to National aparks. On top of hurricane Ridge in Olympic, during intense heat wave had flat tire, and tried to call roadside assitance got nothing. So, changed tire our selves. Next day planing next leg of vacation still having heard nothing we took punctured tire to tire shop for repair by qualified people. Now just before midnight we finally get call from them alomst two yes (2) of being stranded if we had waited on them. They now tell me they want me ti call back to schedule a tire inspection and if it fails I will have to purcase a brand new tire, despite paying extra for extra coverage. Thanks for taking advantage if your customers and total desreguard of thier safety.Not wasting any more of vaction chasing you incredible poor performace. With service and attitudes like this your company hopefully will not last long. read more

Worst car rental experience I've ever had. Was headed to Seattle for a quick weekend vacay. Got a marginally good deal online but had to pay up front. That ought to have been a warning. Arrived at this rental counter to find the line snaking across the indoors part of the facility, out the door, and across the pavement where the bus unloads. Waited in line for an hour and forty five minutes. Again: an hour and forty five minutes. To pick up a car I had already paid for! AN HOUR AND FORTY FIVE MINUTES! They had between three and five counters open up there over that period, and some customers seemed to be standing there for 20 minutes or more. Why, only God knows. How complicated can this operation be? How many things can go wrong? I'll never use Fox again and you shouldn't even try. read more

This is by far the WORST car rental company. The customer service at this rental counter was disgusting. The woman at the counter had no empathy for others, was extremely rude when my reservation clearly stated that the deposit was $150 with a debit card for the deposit hold. Once we went to the counter she told us our deposit was $400! A whomping Total of 700 dollars for a rental car! Ridiculous. After explaining to her that the reservation and confirmation email never stated that she replies with.. "well, you used a third party website, I recommend next time you use our website directly." How was this my fault? And after explaining to her that I could use another card for the deposit she cut me off and said flat out "no". I will NEVER attempt to use FOX AGAIN. It made a lot of sense that FOX had no other customers in line but myself and enterprise 2 counters down had a line wrapped around the inside of the building. I waited for enterprise since FOX refused to help me in any way and with enterprise I got a BIGGER car, a CHEAPER price rate, a $60 deposit, used my debit card with no problems and great customer service! WORST COMPANY OUT THERE! I'd rate negative stars if I could! Let me just start off by saying this, I am one of the most understanding people and I HATE complaining. Also, with everything going on with covid, I expect some hiccups along the way. However, Fox rent a car is a HORRIBLE company and their customer service is AWFUL and RUDE. I was contacted 3 days before my trip by Fox saying that the location I was renting my car from was now temporarily closed due to an employee contracting covid. So okay, that's out of their hands that someone got covid, even though they should be checking their employees. But thats besides the point, they had NO BACK UP PLAN. They called me 3 days before the trip letting me know the place was closed and that I needed to call them back. I called back and was on hold for almost an hour, finally got in touch with someone named Angel urbina with Fox who was very rude. He told me that he saw that my reservation had been cancelled which I NEVER authorized or asked for. Nor was I told anything about it being canceled, no email, no call, text NOTHING. So I asked if they could fix the situation and rebook my reservation and he said no because the place was closed. (Found out later that this was a lie and that there were alternative options available) so they just upped and cancelled my reservation without saying ANYTHING and left me without a car DAYS before my trip. When I said that they had to be supplying people with cars and can't expect everyone that had a reservation to just find another option last minute and I asked for more help, he transferred me to billing and I asked if he could please make sure that billing knew the situation so I wouldn't have to keep explaining myself over and over again after waiting over an hour on hold. He said not to worry and that they would know everything. THAT WAS A LIE. They didn't know anything and I had to repeat EVERYTHING. Billing was EVEN WORSE! She had the worst attitude and put me on hold and NEVER CAME BACK TO THE CALL! All I wanted was an email confirmation of my "canceled" reservation that I never authorized so I would have proof until the money was put back into my account. I checked my email after being on hold for a while, and saw that she sent a very short and brief email that she obviously typed up herself at 4:56. I was still on hold until I hung up after realizing what she was doing (ignoring me) for 20 minutes. I am BEYOND LIVID with this company. They just screwed so many people over and I'm sure they lost a TON of business including mine and everyone I tell. NOT TO MENTION I now have to book another car with another company and hope that I can find one for next week and I don't have the money from the fox refund to do so! read more

I've got to say, Priceline is awesome. I had just landed, still on the plane, taxing to the gate when I secured my one week car rental with Fox. The SeaTac airport has a seamless shuttle service to the car rental counters. When I arrived at the Fox location, the employees were friendly and fast. (They also decorate their station fun for the holidays.) I signed the contract, walked to the parking garage, and found a car without much hassle. I will note that it would be helpful to have a Fox employee directing renters to the various parking rows. I found myself helping others when I dropped off the car and was waiting to be checked out. They should also put notes on cars, or not keep them with the others, if they have been purchased. This was my case, I got my luggage all settled and drove out just to be told I couldn't have that car because it was purchased. I wish Fox had a better return process, like other rental agencies. You have to drop your car off and then go to an office for the checkout procedures instead of just getting a receipt from the attendant. Other than those minor inconveniences, I'd say Fox was A-OK and a very good price. read more

I had a flight expected to arrive just after 9p. There was a 2 1/2 hour delay and I tried calling the customer service, which had an option saying "if your flight is delayed, press __" So I do, and it just says "we will hold your reservation for 3 hours, if your flight is delayed, go to the counter and let the agent know." Then promptly hangs up on you. We landed around 11:15p. We still had to get our bags and find the counter, which is in a different building, not on site (as expected). There is a shuttle bus that will take you but of course, that's at LEAST 10 mins to wait, board and travel. We get there, find the counter, and, ironically, as I'm reading the sign that says "open 24 hours" the woman behind the counter says "we're closed, you have to go down to the 1st floor." There are no signs where to go and the woman offered no help. Needless to say, we were lost because you're going into a massive parking garage that has escalators, which go down one level and then you have to walk to another location to find the next down escalator. We FINALLY find the Fox Rental booth and there's a short-ish line. I'm assuming we'll be ok. The line does NOT move. I can see inside the booth that people do not look happy and it's taking so long. I realize something isn't going right and I find out why when I finally get inside WELL after midnight. They say my reservation has been cancelled and all they can offer are SUVs, which is a huge price change from my compact car price. My reservation had a total (2 day) cost of just under $60. They said it would now be around $165. I told them I was stuck on a plane, I couldn't do anything else about the rental and it wasn't my fault I was late, it wasn't my fault I was in line for over an hour. Had the line been faster, I'd have made it by midnight and gotten in before my reservation "expired." I told the woman I tried calling and only got a recording. I told her my flight was delayed over 2 1/2 hours, which I couldn't control. She said "if you go on our website, you'll see our policy." She never once apologized and basically made me feel like it was my fault. This is the first time I've used Fox rental and I'll NEVER go there again. DO NOT EVER EVER EVER RENT FROM THEM!!!!!!!! Pay attention to all the people who have left reviews...they aren't joking. I rented a car from them from SEATAC. First they make it hell to get to them. The shuttle takes forever and if you try and contact them using the airport info center nobody ever answers the phone. I get there and there are four people in front of me and one girl working the counter. I waited about 45 minutes to get my car. Behind me...poor souls...were probably 10 others. I rented a midsize and got a PT Cruiser. I guess that is okay. The PT was NASTY. Stains everywhere. Sticky steering wheel. Smoke smell, NO power features but the windows and doors. I actually got lysol and sprayed it down. Seriously. There was damage not marked on their form and I made sure that it was marked. Not like scratches either - DENTS. The car drove like it needed an oil change and had bad tires. The return of the car was okay, except for the return guy hit on me. The shuttle bus driver took a break even though there were a few of us waiting to catch our flights - standing under an awning in the rain. Nobody addressed us or informed us of shuttle times so I had to ask someone. AND BEWARE: Most rental companies charge you the rental amount and put a HOLD on the deposit...FOX DOES NOT DO THAT. They will remove the entire amount (car+deposit) and good luck getting that deposit back. I have been on the phone with them (rude) with no resolve so finally filed a claim with my card company. IT IS NOT WORTH SAVING A HUNDRED BUCKS. Go with Hertz...that was my mistake!!!!! read more

Listen up, peeps. This place has some heinous reviews and there is some merit to what they say, but don't let the low ratings keep you away if you can deal with some of Fox's 'issues'. We got a ride from a Seattle friend, so that eliminated the lengthy shuttle ride we read about. We waited almost an hour at Fox for our car (yep, you warned us about that too). The inside of Fox's rental office is downright yucky (yep, you told us that). So why the five stars? The staff was nice, albeit bumbling, and we scored a Dodge Charger for the price of a Chevy Aveo. We scored the reservation for the Chevy Aveo for less than half of what the big car rental companies charge to drive interstate. We drove that brand spankin' new Dodge Charger over 1300 miles from Seattle to San Francisco and loved every minute of it! Was it worth the wait on the front end - hell, yeah! Returning the car at SFO was easy and quick and our charges were spot-on. Believe the hype, this is a not your suit-wearing, platinum card having, corporate account daddy's car rental service, but for the rest of us - who can handle a bit of waiting when they make it worth your while - take a chance and save some $$ with Fox. read more

To our surprise, the company had apparently ran out of car rentals and told us to go rent a car next door. Worst rental car company ever. I travel for business quite frequently and travel to Seattle at least once a month. This last week summer rental car prices were pretty high, however Fox was advertising for much less than their competition. I have never rented from Fox before and decided to give them a try. Huge mistake. First, I stood in line for 2 hours. When I was finally able to get up to the counter for assistance there was a woman on one side of me who was crying because the counter agent was not being helpful and a couple on the other side of me who was in a rage after being told that the vehicle they reserved online was now going to be three times the quoted price. I figured that because I pre-paid my vehicle on a third party website that I should be ok and would avoid that situation. The gentleman who assisted me was polite and was able to process my car fairly quickly. However, even though I requested and booked an "economy" car, I was given an SUV. I told the agent that I did not want an SUV and he acted shocked - why wouldn't I want a bigger car? He basically told me that it was my only option and I agreed because I needed a car. The pre-paid gas on this car was $60, I am not sure what it would be with the car that I actually purchased. When reviewing my final invoice I noted that it appeared that I was being charged an additional $397.93 on top of the $221.84 I had already paid. I asked if the invoice included the amount that I already paid or if this was in addition. I was told that the amount I paid was included in the final invoice. I was skeptical and so I went to a different representative and asked the same question, again, I was told that amount included my prepaid total and the additional money was a deposit that would be refunded and my prepaid gas. Once I got to my rental car, it was scratched along the passenger side and had a huge dent on the driver's side. The inside of the car was filthy. The seats were dirty and there was dried liquid in the cup holders. Normally I would have this issue addressed at the premises, however, since I was now running three hours behind schedule, I just took the car. All week I have attempted to contact Fox customer service and every time I get the same recording which says, "We are experiencing a high volume of calls right now. Please call back." I have yet to contact an actual person. My credit card statement shows that I was charged the pre-paid amount through the third party website and an additional $400.00 by Fox Rental Car. I have no idea what this $400 is for. Lesson learned is that if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. I will NEVER rent from this company again and will gladly pay more money for a car that is clean and to know that I will be working with a company that is transparent and not full of hidden costs and fees. read more

I was initially hesitant to make a reservation with Fox because of the Yelp reviews and the fact that they are off airport. However, the other rental car services like Avis, Budget and even Hertz got far worse reviews so we stuck with Fox for their excellent large SUV price of about $46/day. Initially we made the reservation on Orbitz but there's no reason to do this. Go directly to the Fox website and also search for Fox coupons/deals. I got 5% off with a code I found online. We had flawless service from Fox from start to finish. There was a short line at the counter (about 5 people ahead of us) but considering it was Memorial Day weekend, a 10 minute wait didn't bother us. We were allowed to pick our SUV from a fleet of about eight Ford Explorers. How many companies let you walk to the lot and pick your car?? We picked the one with the lowest mileage (only 6000+) and it even had some remnants of new car smell. The highest mileage we saw was about 16000. We were in and out with the car in about 15-20 minutes. The shuttle service to and from the airport was also not a problem. We never had to wait for the shuttle - it arrived at the airport as we were crossing to the pick up area. We didn't have to call to request the shuttle. On return of the car at about 10:00PM on a Monday night, we narrowly missed one of the shuttles but the next one was right behind and there was no wait at all. The shuttle ride itself is pretty quick and takes less than 10 minutes. The drivers helped us with our bags and even carried them into the rental car office. The staff were genuinely friendly, not just 'service-polite' and I was surprised at some of the reviews I've read here and how my experience was completely different. Anyway, I had no issue at all with renting from them over the busy memorial day weekend. I would definitely use Fox again and recommend it to anyone. If they were directly at the SEATAC airport, I would give them 5 stars. The one at SFO is on airport and my experience at that one was also really good. read more

For the price (cheapest one on Kayak at the time), my rental experience was good, but the car could have used a service check; the brakes squeaked a bit and the tires tended to slip if I accelerated too hard. I didn't do anything adventurous with the car so it didn't matter. Overall I'm happy that I saved some money renting from here even though the product was a little below my expectations. Waiting in line to pick up the car took too long, but that's pretty much the case everywhere. Returning it was a breeze. read more

NEVER RENT HERE! This place was horrible. They gave away our car, which had been reserved months in advance and insurance prepaid. They directed us to go to Dollar Rent A Car next door and would not provide our reservation for price matching. After several other irritated customers from the same flight stacked the desk did the lackadaisical staff print out my reservation. Don't ever rent from FOX RENTAL CAR! Reserved a car at SFO and waited in a line for an hour and a half only to get half way through the line. Gave up and went elsewhere. Plus they have many hidden fees so that so called low price that's quoted is not the final cost. Tried calling their 800 number to complain; no one picks up the phone. They should be investigated by the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. read more
