Fox Ridge was the site of our family reunion in the summer of 2017. It's a charming property with a mini golf course, an indoor and outdoor pool, game room and campfire every night. They offer a delicious complimentary breakfast for guests with a wide variety of food (not just continental, which was good for those like me who are gluten intolerant). Our rooms were nice with fridges, and some of my family had loft rooms, which were great for bigger families. The only downside is the lack of elevators, which was tough for me with a bum knee and those of our family who were elderly. While you can request a downstairs room, if there's limited availability you have to deal with the stairs. The location was central to outlet stores, lakes and more. We enjoyed it a lot! read more

We stayed here last week with a tour group. It's dirty, nasty, and I wouldn't recommend it at all. I felt sorry for the staff because they were friendly, but that didn't make up for the obvious mold in the bathtub and the terrible food. This place is in need of a major overhaul. Steer clear. My husband planned a trip to North Conway for my birthday this year. We stayed at Fox Ridge and OH MY GOSH I'm soooo happy we did. I walked into our room after check-in to a fully decorated room with balloons and chocolates everywhere! I assumed my husband had somehow decorated while I was gathering luggage... but come to find out the resort did everything for him! He told them the occasion when booking and asked them if they could place some balloons in the room, but they went above and beyond his expectations. Truly made my 26th birthday so special. Overall the room was very nice and clean. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Location was perfect. Plus, we had a jacuzzi tub! 100% recommend! read more

We didn't know what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. It is a bit dated but so clean. I judge all hotels by the "dirt stains" in the tub. And the tub was literally white. The grounds are immaculate. The mini golfing is cool and the outdoor play area is good. They had plenty of pool towels available. The staff are wonderful. We really enjoyed our weekend here. And you would think with all the kids running around as this is a family resort that they may be a bit rude or even impatient but that was not the case. Please Fox Ridge, update your rooms!!! Fox Ridge has a lot to offer a family. They have an indoor/outdoor heated pool, mini golf, movies nightly, bonfire with marshmallow roasting nightly, horse drawn carriage rides, frolf (frisbee golf), a small playground/swing set, painting pottery. You are also able to use their "sister resort," Red Jacket's, indoor water park Kahuna Laguna for an extra charge (depending on the package you purchase.) Complimentary breakfast is offered and is decent. However, there is a very limited menu and limited seating. Be there at 7:30 am or you will wait! No elevator! Really? Had to carry heavy suitcases up stairs. The grounds are impressive but the rooms need MUCH updating. Still use a key instead of a card to open the doors. Old wallpaper on walls and stucco on the ceiling. Old bed spreads. Old carpet. We stayed in a loft and the Wood on the stairs is chipped and needs to be refinished. However, rooms are clean. Staff are helpful, attentive and friendly. Very old miniature golf area as well. Honestly, for the cost of the room, the rooms themselves should be up to date! $$$ Plenty of parking. We stayed here for our trip to Storyland, and it did the trick. Outdoor and indoor pools, a playground, mini golf, game room, gorgeous grounds all pluses. Located in between the outlets and Conway village, but it's nearly impossible to turn left out of the driveway. Helpful staff, good beds, eh bathrooms, VCRs in the rooms. The Red Jacket up the street has a spa and is building a water park, but I'd stay here if it was a good value. I think the Valley Trolley stops here, which can be good if you don't want to drive. read more

This place is outstanding and one can feel at ease here. We have stayed here two years in a row now, we like this place so much. The resort has everything one could need, but without high prices or formality. It feels relaxed, comfortable, attractive and casual, but it is professionally run. The staff are genuinely friendly. The rooms are kept in tip-top order. They don't skimp on towels or anything else. If you need anything, like a DVD player, just ask for it. The rooms are entirely non-smoking (smoking is allowed only on the grounds), and they really enforce this rule, so that the rooms smell fresh. The grounds are landscaped exquisitely and are expansive. This resort is on a hill, far off the highway, on dozens of acres, yet right on the strip in North Conway, so it is convenient to everything the region has to offer. It's the perfect place to stay for exploring the White Mountains region. We love on how quiet it is here. Not much noise or commotion, so one can actually relax. The parking lots are not right on top of the rooms, so one doesn't hear much noise. You just drop off your luggage near the entry to your room and then go park the car nearby. The views from either side of the buildings are lovely -- a gorgeous garden on one side, or a panoramic view of the mountains on the other side. read more

I absolutely loved this hotel and would recommend it to anyone. Every employee we came across was friendly and helpful. We were able to check in early without any problems. Hotel was up on the hill away from the main street- unlike the other hotels nearby. Both pools were well-maintained. Mini golf was a fun and FREE activity on site. The checkin was early (nice) and our stay was very nice, but the down sides were a big deal and would cause us to not stay here again: - Playground needs serious repairs. Wood is rotted and the tire swing is about break off. - For the price, we felt the rooms should be a bit more updated. We have stayed in other local places and this is in desperate need of repairs. For example, nice deck and door outside, too bad the deadbolt had a broken key left in the lock. Carpet had an odd smell but wasn't unbearable, - For summer, the indoor pool was seriously cloudy and the indoor ventilation didn't exist. Without going into the pool my eyes were burning within minutes just sitting in the pool area. Outside pool was great. - Breakfast was included but pure chaos. The poor hostess was running around getting people's room numbers and trying to seat everyone but after a while it was standing room only and quite uncomfortable. People were crowded so much into the area that there were other people standing between tables watching you eat or just eating there. We ended up taking our food back to our room. - The fire and marshmallows are a nice touch but like other reviewers state, some people camp out there and eat literally a bag just for their family of 4 leaving none for anybody else and the stock quickly runs out. We arrived within 20 mins and all bags were empty. Granted these may seem a bit nit on their own but not collectively and maybe we were unlucky that it all happened within the same two days... read more

Clean, right in the middle of everything in North Conway. indoor and outdoor pools, decent breakfast. If you DO NOT HAVE KIDS, SKIP THIS PLACE!! HORRIBLE!!! Do NOT book this hotel. There were holes in the ceilings boogers on the wall, cobwebs everywhere. Smells of weed and pot, bathroom floors were sticky. Pools were NOTHING like the photo. Lights won't turn on, Toilet doesn't flush. The beds give you chronic back pain. Parking lot had no lights, nearly tripped. Breakfast is nothing but but food from stores. Had to walk through a bush to get to my room. Keys are old fashioned and the front desk gave another guest my key. The key didn't work. there was a moth enclosed into our room door. Water smells like copper. The pool is so foggy you can't see the bottom. The front desk had a big attitude. They dont clean your room nightly, there were garbage bags all over the hallway. The shower head is the size of a peanut and was hardly any water pressure. The mini golf course had caution tape around it which is very concerning. The bottom of the pool was filled with dirt and hair clots. The "resort" title is not very fitting, more like a motel. read more

We recently got back from our stay here. There are some pros and cons of the resort, which I'll share. Pros: Good location close to many attractions (outlets, storyland, santas village) , staff was very friendly, rooms were clean, mini golf and swing set on the grounds for the kids, pool bar, breakfast was tasty with good options, great mountain views. Cons: The entire resort is outdated especially the rooms, they don't have luggage carts or staff available to help with bags (this may not be an inconvenience for everyone but when you're traveling alone with toddlers it would have been nice to have) , they don't start seating for breakfast until 7:30am (again, may not be an issue for everyone but when you have young kids that's on the later side), pool is made out of the old concrete material which was VERY slippery. Overall, it's a decent budget place to stay if you want to save some money. read more

To start off this a family place for sure, as was confirmed by the tiny herd of elephants above us, this did not upset me because we were tired. I expected a little extra noise because this is a place for kids and families. I called last minute after our trip to Storyland and spoke to Chuck. He was extremely friendly (much more friendly than the sister resort) and we got a great rate. The kids each got a cot, which I made sound very exciting, and I got the queen bed to myself. Mommy does not like to share. :) We had a lovely dinner with Laura as the host and Kim as a server (I hope I am remembering the names correctly) and we got some great tips for timing things out. My 9 yr old son was cringing about the baby that was crying next to us and I had to remind him that babies cry when they get tired. The parents did manage to calm the little one and we loved the view. We did a speed round of mini golf and unfortunately miss the camp fire, but did manage to snag a couple marshmallows before heading back to the room. We got to the breakfast EARLY, I was told it becomes very busy from 8 to 11, so we got there at 7:40. It begins at 7:30. Then we got in a quick swim before heading off to check out. We checked in, went to the room and then spent 30 minutes calling around to other hotels. This place is a dump. Granted, I've been at worst places before by far. You could certainly sleep there without having to keep your cloths and shoes on while in bed, but in general, a dump. This place is still using keys for the room locks. There is a reason all the other hotels in the world are using swipe cards. It's so some random ahole can't get into your room with a copy of the key. There is no hot tub either. For the price you may as well stay any place else. The room smelled bad too. The mattress and linens were old and uninviting. read more

Little pricey for the room we were given. Also not as great a "mountain view" as expected. Our room was facing a mountain with a Main Street and cars driving by even at 1-2 AM. Beds weren't super comfy, but were bearable. Overall a decent stay. I would try and find a different place but it was relaxing. Cleanliness is apparently not something this hotel strives for. Checked into room and three towels from previous guest were on floor behind door and hanging from back of bathroom door. Visible dust on nightstand, tv, dresser, fridge and coffee maker. Hall carpeting has seen better days, time to replace was probably ten years ago! Hotel has plaque from 1995, year opened??? Looks like everything is still from original design, walls need paint and repairs! Driveway went to the lowest bid, time to renovate and revamp!!! Only impressive thing is the views of the white mountains, guess that is to distract you from what you don't want to see it your room! read more

we arrived at Fox Ridge on a Thursday with two kids ages 6 and 8, and two adults, there were not many people around at this time and kids had pool to themselves. This is a great family resort that really has so much to do, we had fun in the game room, playing mini golf and the two pools. Kids loved the playground, and making sores at the fire pit. The rooms are great size, with coffee maker in room, and a refrigerator, we had a private patio which was great for quiet morning coffee. The breakfast in the morning was great with eggs,bacon, sausage and much more. The staff was very friendly at all times,and the views are breath taking. If your looking for a family resort this is it, also many shops and restaurants right on main road, will definitely stay here again read more

My husband, 3 kids & I had just left Fox ridge yesterday and we had a great time. The grounds are beautiful, we had a standard room w/ 2 double beds & had good room w/ three kids and had a cute patio w/ chairs to sit, Breakfast buffet had a lot to choose from. They have fun activities for the kids like pottery class, movie night & fire pit w/ marshmallows. Amenities were mini golf, shuffle board indoor/outdoor pools. Location was perfect we went to storyland and was down the street to downtown North Conway. Looking forward to going back! read more

Matt at front desk was great! Ask for a room with view of outdoor pool and mountain. The upstairs rooms have more privacy on the balcony than the downstairs rooms patios do. Room was clean looking but had a bit of musty smell. We aired it out. Bathroom, while looked clean had pee smell. Think some caulking around bottom of toilet might help? Deep clean grout? Did appreciate the grab bar in tub/shower (otherwise it's tough to wash the bottoms of your feet!) Decor was a bit tired but the bed was very comfortable. Stores and restaurants are plentiful on the main road at the bottom of the (long) driveway. You can park near door to unload/load but then you'll move vehicle to parking short distance away. They do allow dogs and I saw some ppl letting dogs run off leash, even though present, so just be aware. Most likely against rules. Overall, peaceful and convenient setting and a good value for what we paid. read more

I recently enjoyed a two night weekend stay at the Fox Ridge to attend a wedding in the area. The resort is a very family and pet friendly facility. It is a friendly, clean place that served my purpose very satisfactorily. Bed was very comfortable and the shower was amazingly hot and strong, which is a must for me. Fridge in the room. The staff was very friendly, accommodating and helpful. But what made me even happier, was the complimentary breakfast meal, which I wasn't expecting to be much, but ended up quite impressive in it's generous heartiness, from soup to nuts and everything in between. It included a hot breakfast buffet: scrambled eggs/cheese omelet, home fries and sausage, pancakes (complete with syrup, strawberries and whipped cream) whole fresh fruit and a fresh cut fruit salad. Perfect to start a day of skiing or shopping! Both weekend mornings, the dining area was full and bustling with families including children of all ages enjoying second helpings. The MOST noteworthy: despite the constant number of people enjoying, not once did any food item run out, even the hot items. The food area was always kept neat, organized and visually appealing to the hungry masses. As tables turned over, they were immediately cleared and cleaned as they vacated so seats were always available. And it was all maintained, run and serviced by ONE dynamo, Priscilla. I saw an occasional appearance of other kitchen staff, but she worked quickly, with an eye for detail and attended to it quickly. She kept everything running smoothly all the while with a welcoming friendliness. And never slowed down once, except when I called her over to thank her and pay her the compliments she deserved. Every 2 years we have a family reunion. This year it was my turn to host. We reached out to many Hotels and resorts. The Red Jacket made me feel good about undertaking this adventure. From the beginning dealing with Bob Weir, the Director of Sales, there were not obstacles or challenges. 125 family were coming for a family reunion...no problem. The front desk Anne Nestor and Deb Warshafsky made everyone comfortable. Our reunion gathering and dinner was held in the Hampshire room. The set up was better than I could have hoped for. Marj took care of the dining room and the meal. The meal, five days later my family is still talking about this dinner. The Salmon was excellent. The Prime Rib was tender, tasted great. Laura Maxfield, in setting up the dining room noticed that I was having difficulty setting up a video to be shown during the evening. She left and returned with her own personal laptop and made it possible for the video would be seen. Laura and Liz were great. The family stayed at the Red Jacket. Rooms were perfect. Staff was professional and friendly. The breakfast was great and included fresh fruit and yogurt. Great for families read more

I have to agree w other reviewer. Location is great and from the outside hotel looks great. The room we got smelled of mildew and the shower had no pressure whatsoever. On the plus side the food in the restaurant wasn't bad but the staff was overwhelmed by our group so service suffered(should have staffed more than 2 people for 40 guests). disappointed bc I thought this place would be awesome read more

We stayed at the Fox Ridge Resort over the July 4th weekend while visiting family. We made our reservations online via Travelocity at a pretty reasonable rate that included breakfast. The check-in process was quick and easy. We were booked into room 101, way down at the end of the hotel and very quiet. Our room was supposed to be a garden view king but instead, we were in a Jacuzzi room with a full sized bed. Had it been the middle of winter, we would have been excited to have a Jacuzzi but it was in the mid-90s and too hot for that. I use a cpap machine and when I tried to plug my machine in, I discovered that there were no outlets anywhere near the bed. We called the front desk and were brought an extension cord. The next morning, we decided to ask to be moved into the room we reserved, with a king sized bed. The hotel was able to accommodate us and we moved to room 123. This room was nice, too and had outlets on both sides of the bed! It was also very close to the swimming pool and surprisingly, not loud with pool noise. They also have mini-golf (which we didn't play but others seemed to be enjoying) and a shuttle to the local water park. The breakfast buffet went until 10:30 on weekdays and 11:00 on weekends. There is a large dining room and you are seated like in a restaurant. They had juice and coffee, cereal, toast, muffins, fruit, eggs, bacon or sausage, pancakes and potatoes. It was pretty crowded with families and kids but I was able to be seated pretty quickly. The hotel does not have a restaurant but they do offer poolside food during the summer and family barbecues. There are several restaurants within walking and driving distance, too, and the room has a fridge for leftovers! We decided we wanted to stay another night beyond our reservation so we went to the front desk and were quoted a rate $40 higher than what we paid online and $30 higher than the hotel's OWN website! My partner was willing to pay this but I wasn't. I contacted management via email (listed on the website) and within 24 hours, the rate had been adjusted AND we received a voice mail on our room phone about the reduced room rate. This really impressed me for several reasons - one being the manager responded to me on a Sunday. Sometimes I think when a business makes a mistake and fixes it, I'm more impressed with them than if they'd done everything perfect in the first place. It says that the business values customers and wants to provide a good service to their patrons. When we go back to North Conway to visit family, we will probably stay at the Fox Ridge again - in part, because when they made a mistake, they admitted it, fixed it and were easy and pleasant to work with - but also because the room was comfortable, the pool was nice, and the breakfast buffet was a great add-on. read more

Stayed here this weekend. Really nice place. We have a 4 yo.. he loved it! Went swimming in the outdoor pool, played at the playground, ate marshmallows at the campfire, and played mini golf. Great hotel for options to do after a busy day, but just want to relax at the hotel. We had the breakfast.. I would say, it's good, not great.. but it's totally fine.. just wish they had some things "to order". Didn't have the dinner.. lots of great restaurants in the area. Pricing isn't bad. But the rooms are pretty outdated. I wasn't sure what to expect. Everything was clean beds are comfy. We got the family alcove room. The extra room had a tiiinnnyyyy tube tv you could hardly see. The pressure of the shower head is almost non existent. The view was nice but unfortunately it rained our entire stay. We got to play mini golf which was fun and the pool is very nice and so was the hot tub. Game room doesn't have much and is over priced. Breakfast is awesome. A lot of stuff to choose from. I would check out other hotels and spend a bit more on a different place than here. Not bad but not the greatest. We also got free water park passes with our package was a huge Money saver. Oh and in this room the toilet and shower were in one room where as the sink was right outside the bathroom. Convenient for a 4 year old lol. read more

I was underwhelmed with my stay at Fox Ridge. There was no specific incident or anything. Just, overall, I didn't see the value. I purchased my stay via Groupon, and understand that there is usually "red tape" associated with these discount websites. The stay was advertised as a stay at the Mountain View resort; not Fox Ridge. I didn't realize it was for Fox Ridge until I received my confirmation email. It also advertised that admission to the Kahuna Laguna water park was included with the stay. Turns out you had to stay for two nights to get the water park passes, and we had only booked our stay for one night. I wouldn't have booked the one night if I knew that water park passes weren't included. This is more of an issue with Groupon than Fox Ridge, but it still left a bad taste in my mouth. Our plan was to head up on Wednesday, camp out, and then check into Fox Ridge on Thursday. Then, one of our children broke her arm the night before we were supposed to camp, so we extended our stay at Fox Ridge for another night since the great outdoors is a poor host to a 4-year old in a full arm cast. I asked if we could take advantage of the Groupon deal terms, with water park admission included, but the hotel wouldn't honor it. We paid $20/each for our tickets, even though our 4-year old was in a full arm cast and was unable to do more than put her toes in the water. Business is business, I guess. But I would expect that a family-focused hotel would place more importance on the satisfaction of its guests than its top line. Furthermore, the room was dingy and the beds were so uncomfortable that my boyfriend and I slept on the patio in our tent on the second night. Our sleeping bag pads were more comfortable than the beds in our room. I won't be back to Fox Ridge. It wasn't bad. It just wasn't great. read more

It was a decent hotel with a motel feel. Defiantly dated. I found the place clean but in serious need of some updating. Outdoor pool was nice with amazing views. Indoor pool was OK but again needed some updating. Hot tub was a little gross , seamed like a layer of slime on top. Needed a water change . My suggestion for pools is a floating rope across middle to separate shallow from deep ends. Especially on outdoor pool which drops off to deep end very fast. Free breakfast buffet was good and hot with decent amount of choices. The wait staff were useless. I saw tables of six with twelve empty plates where the staff never took empty plates. They were all standing behind "hostess" drinking coffee and talking. I did mention this to GM and told them I was in the industry for over 25 years and "if they have time to lean they have time to clean". He agreed and went strait to dining room. Many activities for kids daily from roasting marshmallows to ceramics. Overall this was a good place with need of a little polish to make it a great place. read more

It had it's positives and negatives. There was no elevator to get to the rooms which wasn't cool with a whole bunch of bags. And the parking is pretty far from the room. I felt like I was staying in a dated dorm instead of a hotel. LIke other people said here I found it ridiculous that you don't get in to the water park for free with what you pay. I also had to pay $10 to get in for myself even though I was not swimming. What exactly was I paying for? To watch my child and husband swim? The bed was comfortable though and breakfast was pretty good. read more

I expected more from this hotel for this price. It had a few really good things going for it, I'll start with that. The hotel is set up high, away from the road. So it was very private. The grounds were very nice. We were welcomed by cold water with citrus infusion and yummy cookies. The in door pool was nice. The outdoor pool was very nice with a poolside bar. The downside, the rooms were very outdated. It was so damp and smelled so strong of mold/mildew. So if you have allergies or asthma, beware. What was really bad about it...the walls are paper thin. It was so loud. The banging of the doors, the stomping and banging from above, you could hear everything. We were kept up at night and woken up around 6 am in the morning. We called the last night we were there and they said they would look into it. I suggested we get moved and they said they would talk to the people above us. Nothing was done. 3 nights of no sleep. You shouldn't pay $500 for no sleep and the hotel not do one thing about it. When I was asked in the morning how everything was...I was honest, it was noisy and we did not sleep. The lady said there was nothing they could do about it if parents couldn't control their children. She said and I quote "I don't know what to tell you". Seriously??!! She said next time we come back to request a room on the second floor....Umm there's no way we are going back. read more

For the past 10 years I have stayed between the Mountainview and the Fox Ridge annually. However, I believe this past visit will be my last. The treatment that I received while staying at the Fox Ridge Labor Day weekend was quite disturbing. The hotel was very busy over the holiday weekend so of course breakfast was a busy time. When my daughter and I arrived we were placed on a list (there were three other room numbers on it) to wait while tables were cleaned. As we waited other families arrived-and were seated-then more families arrived and were seated. I soon realized that anyone with more than two people in their party were being seated, so I walked over to the wait staff and suggested that perhaps she forgot about us. She stated that she intended to get to us. After 24 minutes and several more families being seated in front of us I went to see if perhaps the manager could find us a seat elsewhere as this was obviously ridiculous at this point. The manager was not in yet. I decided that I had paid to stay at the hotel just as any other family had and I had waited long enough.....I took my daughter and sat at a table! The wait person could not even explain to me what the process was for not seating me-just that it did not make sense to seat two people when she could seat five or six! I don't believe that this hotel has any real policies or procedures in place for the staff to follow. I was humiliated that I had to steal my own chair for breakfast and bummed that I was staying another night!! read more

If you're looking for a nice hotel, keep looking. This hotel needs serious updating and cleaning! Both pools are nice but hot tub is very small and needs desperately to be cleaned. Grounds are nice and there is large kids swing set, but the sprinklers are on all over and you dodge them trying to get anywhere. Front desk staff was accommodating once we complained, I'm sure it's not their fault this place is so outdated but the cleanliness is way to obvious to ignore! Rooms are not soundproof and it was very noisy till after 11 so if you have kids who can't sleep with loud banging and screaming, your out of luck! Chairs in room are so gross I wouldn't let my kids sit in them! Walls, doors and windows are slimy, dirty and gross! Furniture is so shabby it must have been updated since the 80's. My husband wanted to leave before we even unpacked. If you spend more than $100 on this hotel you will be very disappointed! read more

I had an amazing experience at this hotel! The desk staff was friendly and upgraded my group to a suite that would better accommodate our needs. No complaints for a quick trip. The grounds, the view and actually saw a few foxes. Good stuff.

we had a lot of fun, but it was pretty expensive for some pretty outdated hospitality. the infamous resort fee added into the bill after you book for another cost. seriously! its not like you can opt out of this payment, so why not just make it part of the cost and not act like a cheap greedy company. Despite that there were lots of fun things to do with the kids who loved the little miniature golf course on site. the room was ok. pretty outdated... still used real keys to get into the room. seriously? a CRT TV (not a flat screen) really? they had a tennis court but I don't think it has been painted or surfaced for twenty years. the one thing that bugged me was the game room. the pool table had one working stick! really? you cant maintain these things better charging your "resort" fee! then the games themselves are really minimal and not really anything for little kids which I would guess is a huge amount of the clientel given the proximity to story land. the included breakfast was a nice touch and the choice between an indoor and outdoor pool is a nice choice to have this time of year. nice place just needs some serious maintenance and updating. read more
