After shopping around and doing some comparing, I just purchased a 2014 Subaru Outback from Megan over at Sellers Subaru. They had the best price for the new car and offered me $1200 over what the previous dealerships had offered for my trade in. Even though I started my car search over a month ago, and just now purchased, I never got any pushy calls from anyone at the dealership. In fact, I am the one that came to them when I was ready to purchase. Megan had all of the paperwork ready and waiting and I was in and out of there in an hour. She took the time to go over all of the features on the vehicle and made this, my 7th car purchase, the easiest and most pleasant. Tried to call and ask a sales associate about a used vehicle he said it had been delivered, the promptly hung up as I attempted to ask if there were any other similar vehicles. Had to call back to asked the salesman if I could ask him about a similar vehicle before he tried hanging up again and it'd be cool to business with the and they thought that was pretty funny. Guess they were more concerned with going home rather than selling a car. If this is how they conduct themselves on the phone, imagine what they're like in person... After walking away from a different Subaru dealership in the area a few months back, I still desired a new Crosstrek. I noticed on Cars.com a specific model and color I was interested in. I emailed Seller's Subaru from cars.com and within an hour I had a response about the vehicle including the price. The email associate had recommended I speak to Jason when I was ready for a test drive. Jason and the other staff members at Seller's were great- super pleasant, respectful, and knowledagble. Jason made the purchasing process so easy and by far the most enjoyable experience I have had at a dealership. Tracey in financing was also super easy to work with and completely down to earth about the whole process. Pricing was transparent and was consistent from my first email to the dealership down to when I signed the papers- no surprises. I am impressed with Seller's Subaru and their professional yet laid back staff. I appreciate the follow up after purchasing the Crosstrek. English is not my dads native language so Ron even makes the effort to call me to re explain things for my dad. I had been wanting a Subaru Outback for some time. When I decided it was time I began my research into the local dealers. Sellers was the only Subaru dealership that published prices for their inventory so I contacted them. Here's my first impressions, as soon as I walked in the door I was enthusiastically greeted by a guy from the sales staff. To be honest, I had mixed feeling about his greeting, it wasn't over the top, but I did notice I was the only non-employee in the showroom. However, I have to say it must have been a timing thing because while I was there a steady stream of people came and went. One of the thing I enjoyed most about visiting Sellers was how friendly and accommodating everyone was. I can't even count how many times someone asked me if I want something to drink (i.e., water, coffee). While that isn't the best reason to buy a vehicle it is a hint towards how important the staff considers each potential customer. One major consideration in doing business with Sellers was that I told them up front what I wanted, how much I wanted my monthly payment to be and they did flinch or raise a brow. Once the salesman ("Outfitter") understood what I need/wanted he set out to accomplish it; to me it's impressive to see salespeople who actually listen to a customer (actually it's a rare experience). All in all, I had an outstanding experience at Sellers and I would and have recommended them to others. My one "issue" was that the sales person kind of treat with opposite approach that I've heard/read from women at car dealerships. Once I signed the paperwork he handed me the keys and said, "Goodbye". There wasn't any introduction to the vehicle, no here's how this works and do this, not that. In fact, I sat in the service bay for a few minutes trying to figure the lights, heater, cruise, etc... Actually, this is the first vehicle I've ever had with paddle shifters, which I mistakingly thought was the cruise control. As I said, I had a very good experience at Sellers and I do recommend this dealership, but ask the sales to person to show you how everything works. read more

ABSOLUTE STELLAR SERVICE. As good as it gets. I purchased an '18 WRX 6MT from Sellers Subaru after having gone to another dealership, that wasn't very impressive and couldn't really answer my WRX-specific questions. I placed my faith on Sellers Subaru from the moment I walked in the door. My salesperson Alex was very knowledgeable, as well as another gentleman named Steve. Both introduced themselves and made themselves available for my many questions. They were prepared, professional, and friendly. After I purchased the vehicle, Alex showed and explained all the features, programmed the clock, paired my Bluetooth for my phone and music, and showed me how to check fluids under the hood. AFTER already having completing the purchase, Sellers Subaru, specifically Steve and Kim, went to bat for me, when I had issues with two of my rims being scratched when I went to a tire shop to get the summer performance tires that come with the vehicle replaced. Rather than pointing fingers or saying "it's not our problem," Sellers Subaru got to work and helped me work out a solution with the tire shop. Again, this was after I had already purchased the vehicle. Sellers Subaru had treated me as a valuable customer even AFTER I had purchased the vehicle. They had nothing to gain by spending their time to go to bat for me. They did it because they value their customers. They have won me over as a loyal customer for life. The salesperson, Dawson, ironed out all details over the phone and sent a detailed invoice, none of that "just come on in we'll sort it out nonsense that most places pull". They offered a good, fair price (as rated by Edmunds). When we arrived the car was ready, the paperwork was filled out and it was just a matter of walking through the details. I gather that salespeople are paid a salary with a flat bonus per car sold, so they don't try to upsell you, they just find the car you want and, at least in our experience, offered a fair price. read more

I had a great experience! I bought a used Hyundai Veloster with 10,000 miles and Anthony and James were excellent. The entire transaction was straightforward and quick. The delivery to my house was greatly appreciated. The person (I'm sorry, I forget his name) who delivered the car and had the paperwork was helpful and patient. Overall the experience was wonderful from beginning to end. I love my car and I am very glad I did not get the new Veloster from another dealership that I was also considering. I had my car checked out by my mechanic the day after I received it (7day Love it or Leave it) and was told the car was in excellent shape and they did not recommend any fixes/changes. read more

I made an appointment for an oil change for my Subaru Forester. When I arrived I was talked very rudely to and told to bring my car back in two hours as they were backed up although I had made an appointment. When I returned I sat in the service department garage for 15 minutes before I was acknowledged. There was workers walking around at many points but they didn't have the courtesy to even speak to me about what was going on. After two years of bringing my car here I will be finding service at another dealership. read more

Came in for an alignment, got 3 different quotes. Work was not even completed as invoiced. Service manager tried telling me my alignment would cost over $1000 elsewhere. Alignment wasn't even properly done and car pulled hard when I finally left. What they tried quoting me 6+ hours for I took to another shop and got properly done in 2 hours. Service here is a joke. I can't attest to their sales staff but just find another shop before you get harassed over their employees own incompetence and leave with your car in worse shape than it started. read more

Wish I could rate ZERO stars! I purchased my 2016 CrossTrek from Sellers in September and they did a fine job of finding me the car I wanted with the options I needed. However, my positive experience ends there. Right off the bat I ordered upgraded speakers and tweeters and a remote starter. The communication about the parts' arrival was HORRIBLE. The computer generated service reminder to make an appointment because my parts were in was apparently wildly off track from what they actually received in the parts department. They had my speakers, they didn't have my speakers, they had my speakers, they had to order my speakers... Finally after about 3 weeks and 1, almost 2, wasted trips they were able to get everything installed in 1 appointment. Cut to a month later of monkeying around with my Bluetooth and trying to talk to friends/family on my built in Bluetooth system. Horrible. "It sounds like your rubbing something up against the speaker! Are you moving a straw up and down in a cup?" Sooo, back to the dealership I go... Only to be told "everything is fine and the technician called several people from your car with his phone and it's working fine." Wasted trip. I disconnected my Bluetooth and don't use it. Trip #4 or #5 for my first service. As I'm checking out and the customer service chump was going through the inspection sheet, he got to the cabin air filter and I remembered that every damn time I turn on my front defrost it smells of mildew or dirty feet. It's been like that since I bought the car and kept forgetting to tell them the last couple of times I had it in. So, he promptly says "Oh, ok. I'll just change that out for you. You want me to do that?" I say "Sure!" He comes back to ring me up and wouldn't you know it? He flipping charges me for the damn cabin filter!! I was appalled. He says "Well, would you like me to put the old filter back in and take it off the bill?" Are you fuć£¡ng KIDDING me?! Um, the car has 8,000 miles, I've owned it since SEPTEMBER, I tell you it has smelled like this since I bought it and you want to charge me for a $39.95 cabin filter because it's not under warranty?!? "Fine. Just run my card and let me out of here. I'm done with you people." Ok, Sellers, I've been more than nice avoiding reviewing your establishment so as not to cause waves but damn. Bought a used Subaru Outback from this dealer three years ago. The pressure to buy warranties was crazy, but now that the car is broken beyond reasonable repair and we still owe on it after three years and numerous issues, it is understandable why they recommend warranty purchase. Never had to buy a warranty on a car in my life and was sold on the idea that Subarus are such wonderful reliable vehicles. Totally in the hole with this purchase. Service is very slow, and poorly managed. Both times I have tried Sellers Subaru they did not even start to work on the vehicle for over 45 minutes. On both occasions they said the work should be completed within an hour, in both cases it took closer to two hours. I have waited even longer at Hodges - so I keep going back to Sellers. Love the car, though it has more problems than a new car should have (HVAC, Bluetooth, etc) but I am not loving either Hodges or Sellers read more

Hands down the absolute best customer service you could ever expect from a dealership. Recently we had issues with our Subaru purchased in 2008 from a different dealership and ended up taking to Sellers because it was much closer. Sellers took care of all the issues and even went as far to represent us to Subaru Corporate. Long story short, Sellers went above and beyond what any other dealer would have done in this situation. This single experience has restored all faith in dealerships and it is a great feeling knowing that when I go t Sellers I am dealing with a legit business and some pushing BS dealership. I love my Subaru but am less thrilled with my experience at Sellers. The dealer was nice but didn't do us any favors. When we spoke with the finance person all our rates changed, despite having a stellar credit score. The finance person also filled out multiple documents incorrectly even though they charged a $210 documentation fee. Even the title paperwork was filled out incorrectly resulting in us having an improper title on the car for several weeks. The finance department told us blatant falsehoods about the cost of services to try to get us to buy warranties that we already declined. To top all that off, when we got out first oil change at another dealership the dealership could not change the oil pan because the Sellers's service department stripped the plug. I highly recommend a Subaru and that you buy it elsewhere. read more

I sent my son to get an oil change performed and to have the OBD done because of a check engine light. Also, the windshield washer fluid is working only intermittently. It cost $56 to run the OBD and to get the code for an EVAP leak. Come on, to plug in the OBD computer and to get a code cost $56? Then my son was told another $56 to do a smoke test! And they would not diagnose the wiper fluid without another $56. The service adviser also tried hard to up-sell to synthetic oil. I would have expected better from a Sellers dealership. To clarify for the Yelp community, a Saab 9-2X Aero is really just a Subuaru WRX. read more

Best Dealership I purchased a Crosstrek in April 2015 and could not be happier with the dealership and service department. When I purchased my car it was the Limited Edition for the year (only 1000 made) and this dealership only had one to sell. When I called around, other dealerships were trying to get me to pay $1000 over the sticker price since they were "in demand. When I called Sellers Subaru, they said "you asked first so it is yours" and still discounted the sticker price. The financing was easy, there was no high pressure up selling and easiest car purchase I ever made. Have had no problems with the car but for routine service I have found their service department to be wonderful and no more expensive than "Joe Schmo" down the road and these guys really know Subarus so I feel better going there. Love my Subaru and when I need a new one (sorry guys but probably will get 15 years out of this one!) I would go nowhere other than Sellers Subaru. read more

I do like the dealership, am happy with my Legacy and they are a very little pressure/pet friendly dealership. However, I will not attempt going for an oil change in their 'express' service ever again. The last time I went, on my lunch break, there were a couple cars ahead of me and it took them over an hour and a half. I went a couple days ago, middle of the week, around 10:30, and again, a couple cars ahead of me, and the wait would have been an hour and a half. I left, who has that much time for an oil change? Having scheduled appointments would be so much better. I am assuming it is more profitable to run a first come first serve operation, but unless you are retired or unemployed, I can't imagine who has the time to waste. read more

Don't have enough space here to describe how much trouble the poor quality and service have caused me. They aren't experienced enough to work on higher end cars or even change tires without them being stolen. I took my car to this dealership for the same issue multiple times and received the same scripted answer every time until the engine finally gave up and I spun a rod bearing the day after they told me everything was normal. I had them change my tires, the old ones got stolen when I asked for them back, and they didn't say anything until I asked. They replaced my brakes and I asked them to check the calliper function, and the rear right still doesn't work and they said they fixed it. They replaced my wind shield washer fluid reservoir and didn't test it. I had to spend two hours figuring out myself that they had hooked up the pump to the wrong cord set. They replaced the engine after a misdiagnosis and ruined the power steering pump in the process and used my after market warranty to leverage the labor cost for a new steering rack. They sent my car to a shop that does work for them and he ripped off me and my insurance company. When I found out they were giving my car to the same shop again for another repair I went and took it back immediately and they tried to charge me a lot of money for doing so. I had to practically drop down on my knees and beg them not to charge my over 1k for a rental I had, and after spilling my fake heart out they finally dropped it down. I hope I never have to go there again, and the issues they should have fixed I am still paying others to fix for me today. They might mean well, but the quality of work suffer from the inexperience of younger uneducated generations. Buyer beware, would recommend against this dealership and any of the shops they outsource work to. read more

Every fear, concern, discussion, finance question, option, hesitation was always handled in the most professional and courteous way. Even though it literally took me months to make my decision, she was there every step to review the options, quotes and financing. We bought our first Subaru last week--whoo-hoo! We worked with Jamie and she was fantastic! We did the entire transaction via email since we're in Ann Arbor. I shopped dealerships as far as Indianapolis and Sellers didn't bat an eye at meeting prices. Other dealerships told me that Outbacks were in such demand they didn't have to negotiate. I can understand that, but like I said Jamie was happy to entertain negotiations. I know she's a women too, but I handled the whole thing and there was no dismissing me or condescension because I was a women. The vehicle we were interested in was in transit and due in 2 weeks, but unexpectedly another came in so and she let us know we could get that one sooner which was greatly appreciated. The trade in value they gave us for our '97 Camry was much more than expected. Other dealerships said they wouldn't take it, that our best option was to donate. My husband went to pick-up the car and he raved about the customer service and said everyone was very friendly and accommodating. We had a very different experience from another reviewer in that Jamie took a crazy amount of time going through every detail of the car with him. She actually had a checklist that she was required to go through. Thank goodness because there all kinds of things we would have had no idea about! Since the purchase we've had a few questions and she's been just as responsive as she was prior to the sale...replying within hours. This was our first ever new car purchase and our experience sooooo much better than expected. We CANNOT recommend Sellers enough!!! read more

UNLESS YOU'RE BUYING A CAR, AVOID THIS PLACE. My car is experiencing transmission issues, an issue that was already supposed to be resolved by this dealership 7 months ago. Monday, I called to schedule a diagnostic appointment. The girl I spoke to, who claimed to be a part of the service department, advised me that she could get me in Tuesday however they do not have loaners available. She proceeded to tell me that the next available date they would have a loaner for me, would be Thursday. I scheduled my appointment for Thursday at 5pm. I arrive at the dealership today at 4:45pm and was greeted by a porter in the service drive and was told to go sit in the advisor area and someone would be with me. After 10-15 minutes Ivan asks if I have been helped. I tell him no and I explained to him that I have an appointment for 5pm, and what it was for. He tells me to wait, as I see him scrambling around the service area speaking with the other staff. He returns and asked me who created the appointment. I didn't have the name exactly but thought it was Hannah, he then proclaims that she is the receptionist and shouldn't be setting appointments. He proceeded to tell me that he WOULDN'T have set up this appointment because they are extremely short staffed right now and won't even be able to look at my car until Wednesday of next week. Instead of politely asking me to come back on Wednesday, which I would have been fine with, Ivan continued to rudely tell me that honoring my scheduled appointment would be a waste of his loaner vehicle. I tried to ease the tension by explaining to him, that although I have three other dealerships closer to my home, I made an extra effort to bring my car to this specific dealership because in my past experiences, the customer service has been excellent. His only response was to rudely tell me "how does that help me?!". At that point, I asked for my keys back and I told him that I will take it to another dealer and never return here. Employees are the face of their companies. The way you treat your customers reflect on the business itself and how they value their customers. Ivan took his staffing shortage frustrations out on me, which in my opinion is rude and completely unprofessional. read more

Note: This is about the Sellers Subaru dealership in Macomb. They are horrible and Anthony, a salesperson, can't be trusted to sell a bottle of water in the desert. We LOVE the Subaru cars. This was my worst car purchase experience, ever. The salesperson was horrible and I have posted several social media pieces about how bad he was and how I would never recommend him. While the dealership tried to make up for it, they were not as good as other Subaru dealerships that I have worked with. Here's how this transaction happened: First thing in the morning. Husband emails to check about a certain car. He wanted the blue Crosstrek. It had all of the bells and whistle that he liked. The dealership responds and his appointment gets scheduled for 1 p.m. At 12:00 noon I meet Husband and we go to the bank. At 12:15, the dealership calls to confirm that we will be there at 1. We get pre-approved for our loan and go to dealership. With traffic, we realize that we're running a little late. We call the dealership with the schedule change and arrive at 1:30. We look for our salesman that was scheduled to talk with us. He is gone to lunch. Another person says, "I will help you until he returns." He then informs us that the car Husband inquired about was sold this morning. I am IRATE. The dealership has set an appointment and then CALLED us and confirmed an appointment AFTER the car is sold. I was ready to walk out. I took 1.5 hours out of my day to do this trip with Husband. The sales manager came to talk with us and offered us $20 in Speedway money. Nice, but that's not enough in my mind to redeem the dealership. They easily could have called and said that they had sold the car that Husband wants, but there is another one available. That would have been sufficient for me to not hold this deal against the dealership. Now, I feel tricked. "Sure, we'll show you that car... oh, wait...it's not available... we have a similar (not as good) car available..." There was another car on the lot that was available for a test drive that is very much like the one that he was looking at. We drive that car to see if we like it. It's a nice car. We like Subaru. I still never would have purchased the car from that dealership. Husband, however, really wants a Crosstrek and had looked around for another dealer that would offer the same deal and can't find it. We come back and talk to the same person who had talked to us before. I think his name is Bryce. Husband is ready to buy. The person that we're talking to (Husband thought maybe he was an intern) shows no emotion, no helpful words. He didn't introduce himself and didn't even ask any questions, or a closer, "Are you ready to buy?" Once he realizes that Husband's going to buy the car, he offers warranty and Subaru loan options. Still not knowing his name or his position with the company, he goes to talk to the loan officer. He comes back and we talk about options. The loan officer comes over and talks to us about options. We decide to use our credit union. Anthony seemed to be hiding and not even coming back to his desk. At some point, he sent us to the beverage station and made sure that I knew the password to the internet. (Which was good because I didn't have cell signal at the dealership.) He provides a card with a FAX number. I call (luckily I have cell phone signal for that minute) the insurance with the VIN number and give them a fax number. They email me a copy of what they faxed. I don't see the sales guy for at least 30 minutes. He shows up and I asked him if the insurance came through on the fax. He says that he'll go check that out. We don't see him for another 30 minutes. He provides no updates on what is going on, provides no timetable about what is happening, and offers no news about why we're waiting so long. He's just gone. Somewhere in that time, I read my email more carefully because I have nothing else to do and find that the insurance company says that the fax did not go through. In all of that time, this guy has not returned to let us know that the FAX didn't come through from the insurance. I don't see him anywhere on the sales floor. I go find somebody else to ask about the insurance. It's apparently the sales manager again (who also never introduced himself or let us know his position with the company.) That guy has me email the proof of insurance to him so he can print it out for our sales guy. During this interaction, I realize that the man that we've been talking to is actually a sales person and his name is Anthony. Not Bryce. We have been here for at least an hour and didn't have people's names yet. We are spending significant amounts of money here and people haven't properly introduced themselves. Absentee salesperson and impossibly slow considering that we knew exactly what we wanted. read more

I have been working with Briana Alan on a vehicle and finalized the sale yesterday. I had a wonderful experience I had this dealership. This is the first time I've purchased a vehicle and, I was really nervous and excited. Bri was so personable and took her time showing me different vehicles available. I really appreciated the no pressure, no stress environment. She was open and straight forward about my options, and the vehicles that fit my budget. Everyone was nice and friendly, I was always greeted with a smile and asked if I needed anything. I choose to go with the 2014 Legacy, and I love it!
