On Saturday, the mechanic on duty called with a quote for my check engine light, but had also prepared separate quotes for other issues that needed to be addressed for my car. Initially, this stressed me out -- (even though I also knew these items were issues on my car, but wasn't ready to fix them yet). I asked them if they could email the quotes to me which they did. I went online and I ran over to the reviews before approving any of the repairs and saw a 5 star review from a neighbor that is the kind of person I would imagine would leave a very thorough and honest review of a mechanic. (I had also had great experience at this garage years before, but wasn't sure if it was managed by the same person - it still is). I gave my ok and the parts were ordered and arrived on Monday, my car was completely repaired and ready to go by Tuesday at noon. My vehicle was in excellent condition at the time of the visit. The purpose of the service appointment was an oil change and a general maintenance inspection. After six days, I picked up my car, having paid $1,407.25 for the services. Upon starting the vehicle, multiple electronic alarms sounded immediately. The warnings included issues such as a right headlight out, ride height sensor malfunction, and a notification that an oil change was required. These alarms were evident when the mechanic moved my car from the service bay to the street, indicating they were likely aware of the problems. Despite these issues, the mechanic did not investigate the cause of the alarms. When I raised the concerns with the manager, he opened the hood and observed that a cable had been left in the engine compartment. He commented that he instructs "employees to double-check their work". The manager attempted unsuccessfully to disable the alarms and advised me to return on September 26, 2025, at 9:00 AM for further repairs. No apologies were offered, even though my car was in worse condition than when I had originally brought it in. When I returned on September 26, the same manager informed me that they would not inspect the car. Instead, he shifted blame for the vehicle's problems onto me and suggested I speak with the owner regarding my concerns. I ultimately took my car to a different automotive repair shop. The mechanics there discovered several issues resulting from the previous service: * The right headlight was disconnected. * Wires for the disconnected headlight were dangling and had damaged other components. * The right front fascia and lights had been poorly and improperly repaired * Both the right and left bumper covers, as well as the headlamp housing, required realignment due to incorrect installation. * The left and right ride height sensors with linkage needed replacement, * The garage door opening system could not be repaired due to the nature of the damage All necessary repairs stemmed from Grosse Pointe Auto's work and cost an additional $281.78. I anticipate further expenses for a new garage door opener. Based on my experience, I strongly advise avoiding Grosse Pointe Auto. In my opinion, competency and customer service are not part of their offerings.

First off, this is a busy service center, so I called and made an appointment for 1:00 p.m. I was…read morepurchasing new tires for my wife's car; fairly expensive Michelin all weather tires. The technician said, "Give us a couple hours." I checked the parking lot at 2:50 and my car was still there. At around 5:10 a tech came out and said, "Would you like an alinement too?" I agreed, so I didn't get out of there untill about 5:45 p.m. After a drive home, I discovered that the tire pressure sensor would not reset. I waited a couple weeks until I had time to bring it back to have them repair it. Another two hours in the waiting room. They replaced the faulty sensor with no additional charge, but I shouldn't have had to go back and waste another two hours of my time. I will probably continue to use this service center because it is convenient to my house, and I've had good service there in the past, but I was a bit miffed at this last experience.

I notice my name on the queue and it said it would not be ready until 3:15PM which was shocking. I asked the front desk if it was accurate because if it would be more than an hour I would head home. He said he would check for me to give me a new estimate on time but couldn't find my slip. Another hour passed before it moved off the lot into the bay. I didn't leave until 1:45 and they didn't even peel my old oil change sticker off the window or reset the oil change light. A tech was walking in complaining about how he wanted to go home and the worker behind the desk kept having to tell him please clear the board first but the tech's complaints were rather persistent and I felt he was completely unconcerned that I was sitting waiting for potentially 7 hours for routine service. The job got done and the front desk guys were very nice and helpful which is why this isn't a one star, I witnessed many customers being unnecessarily rude and disrespectful to them while they stayed patient and kind, but it seems the shop staff could use some mentorship or assistance if it takes that long for simple routine service and they didn't even do the basic resetting of a light and replacement of a sticker + on top of a staff member complaining in front of me who is hoping he doesn't go home because I want to go home too :/
