I don't even know where to start. Fox Subaru Macomb runs a TOP NOTCH center for customer service! Talk about being treated like royalty and a Lady! What's funny, I never intended to actually buy the Crosstrek from here. But Tom, my sales guy is a real down to earth type of person. Kyle made sure to introduce himself to me when I was leaving on my first visit (that scored HUGE in my book). James sent a video in front of the Crosstrek I was buying (was it "hokey"...maybe) but it was still very thoughtful & personal. Zach was AMAZING with all the financial/warranty stuff. He took his time with me, wasn't rushed and in no hurry to get rid of me! Even Eric in Service was kind and very patient. I was crying towards the end of the deal. Happy tears, but still crying! I had intended to buy a Honda CR-V but the guy that waited on me didn't seem to interested in finding me the car with all the features I wanted. I then, decided on a Buick Encore. That dealership (on Van Dyke in Sterling Hts) will NEVER get a reference from me. I was in the dealership 15 minutes and NOT A SOUL acknowledged me at all!! I left. Next dealership, in Saginaw, for the Buick Encore, made a deal with them and while waiting for the delivery of the car, I found that SAME car on their website (with the same VIN#) for $5K LESS than what they were selling it to me for!!! This place is the epitome of a sleazy, lying dealership. I absolutely love my Subaru Forester but the dealership has made it a nightmare. Keep that in mind if you are thinking of buying one. You'll probably have to drive to Troy to get it serviced if you want honesty. Without getting into the awful experience of when I bought my car, I will focus on the recent service encounter that proves their shadiness is not confined to just sales. The "leadership's" lack of customer service and morals encompass the entire environment. My check tire pressure alarm came on. My husband recently broke 9 ribs. I say that only because I AVOID that place unless I HAVE to go there. He told me to swing by the dealership and have it checked since I was grocery shopping nearby. I called first. A nice lady told me that it would take a quick 15-20 minutes and to bring it by. An hour later (after rudely being told -gaslighted-that i stopped by without an appointment so they had to "make room"), i was told it had an UNFIXABLE PUNTCTURE and I'd have to buy 4 new tires!!!!!!! My car only has 16,500 miles on it and I'd need to buy all new tires?!?! They send me home with the spare and say they will call back with quotes. They never did. Weird. My husband gets the tire out, clearly calls bull and cannot believe they would actually try to fool me into buying all new tires. ***The next day we take it to Discount Tire where it was fixed for free in less than an hour. Can you even believe this?!?!? *** . Oh, without us making an appointment nor calling first either. I feel it important to note, they also marked a random spot closer to the wheel-well but considering there was no leak/puncture there I can only jump to conclusions as to why they did that. None of them good, all of them shady. As an added bonus, the GM called after I voiced my disgust. The same man who told me it wasn't a big deal that I didn't get both key fobs with my new car and, when I realized how awful they were and wanted to return my car the next day, he offered $32,000 while another dealership offered me $36,000. He had the audacity to say i didn't remember him, that he was the one who tried to help me. I am neither stupid nor forgetful. Pardon the long review. I do not typically write negative ones so I wanted to make sure I provided enough FACTS to support it. Be warned if you go there. Ladies, if you are like me and do not know enough about vehicles to question EVERYTHING, this is sadly a place you'll want to bring your dad, husband or brother with you to. Yup, these places still sadly exist. On the positive side, the Services Manager just called me. Evidently the tech thought it was necessary to tell me this was not fixable and new tire/s were my only option because I was in a hurry. And this is an acceptable reason to them. So, it might be a great place to be an employee...just not a customer. P.S. I will never buy another car used, or new from this dealership. I bought a used car with 52000 miles on it for my son. I am not kidding the check engine light came on within the first month of driving. Upon checking the oil and coolant the engine oil was extremely low, and so was the coolant level. When I took the car to them. the service department stood by their claim that the vehicle fluids were serviced before they sold me the car. They claimed that the reason that the oil was low was because "it was burning up oil". They were totally trying to take the stance that they were not going to help me. lucky for me the issue was an air intake line disconnected. I will never buy another car from this dealership, and now I have to go back because the issue happened again. Brought my 2018 Crosstrek for service in March, it needed $4,300 in service, including around $2,000 on the engine. In June the engine warning light comes on again, I bring the car back for largely the same problem (but now a different oil control valve this time), and it's another $1,000 to fix, but really it needs a new engine for $6,500 or this will keep happening. Why wasn't I told the 1st time it needed a new engine? At this point I've lost all confidence that they can actually repair the car, and I return to pick it up and go elsewhere. Then I'm hit with a $149 diagnosis charge for what should have been a warranty inspection. I argue the charge, and the service manager has the nerve to tell me if I don't pay it his technician won't get paid. Never going back there, and if I ever buy another Subaru it'll be from another dealership. BTW, I ordered a replacement engine on eBay motors and can get it installed for about 1/2 what they quoted me. read more

I had a 2021 Chevy Trax lease for eight months that I was no longer happy with, as I had been in search of a Subaru Crosstrek before I got the Trax. When I found the Crosstrek I had been looking for, I started speaking with Anthony Cornacchini (sales). Spent over $2000 for an oil consumption issue for my Subaru Impreza back in 2018. The issue was covered under an extended warranty. Sellers saw the warranty associated with my vehicle and NEVER mentioned the warranty or that my repairs would be covered. I paid all expenses out of pocket and the oil issue STILL persists. As auto dealerships go, this is a pretty great one. We are a newer Subaru family, but we love the vehicle and plan on leasing another, obviously from here. The showroom is immaculate, and has one of each model on display. The sales floor is open and adjacent to the showroom. All sales staff we have ever encountered, particularly our salesperson Jackie, were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The waiting areas has comfortable seating around a television, a cafe style seating area with high-top tables and chairs, a coffee area, and best of all a children's play area. Yeah. A kids area at a dealership. Awesome. Oh, and free WiFi. All of this overlooks, through a giant picture window, the service area where you can watch technicians actually work on your car. Using their service is a pleasure. There is an app that you can use to schedule appointments, or just drive up for An oil change using the express service lane. I've experienced no issues as of yet with any aspect of their service. After two years. All in all I love this place. I'd recommend. read more

Bought a wrx 2023 from eric malone and the whole experience purchasing the vehicle was great no problems there, the only issue i've had here and the biggest one is that when i was signing all of my papers with a lady named lisa she seems like a very nice lady but this had changed my mind she had offered a warranty package for the windshield, tires, key fob and dent removable. With me being told no matter what happens to the tires or windshield it will be taken care of, and i thought that was great it added an extra 1600$ onto my final cost when a new windshield alone costs about that much so i went through with it and come now where i've had to use the tire warranty cause of a pothole scratching up my rim and windshield warranty cause a rock cracking it, nothing i mean nothing i have is being covered by this warranty, i feel like i was straight up lied to to get me to buy this warranty, i should've read the fine print but it is still very deceitful and disappointing that's how she had to sell me on that warranty, its either that or she had no clue what she was even selling me. And i called after to cancel this warranty because its useless took multiple days to even get ahold of lisa and then finally did and was told to send in a signature via email and i had done so to no response 2 weeks as of now even with me double and triple emailing her in a row throughout the 2 weeks. TERRIBLE experience with this, so shitty this happened and makes me feel like this place has no value for its customers they just want our money and nothing else, i've been using them for oil changes and i'm at the point where im considering looking somewhere else to service my car as well even with them being 5 minutes from where im located. read more

Last Fall, I had a lot of work done on my older Subaru Outback and decided to purchase a set of tires as well. Yesterday I called their Service Department to make an appointment for tire rotation. First, they told me that tire rotations were handled with Express Service and wouldn't make an appointment. Secondly, they told me that it would cost $19.95. What?!!! No, that's not happening. So today I went to Discount Tire, having easily made an appointment on line. My tires were service quickly and professionally. And the bill was $0.00. Now THAT is what I call "Customer Service." During delivery we got to meet a good amount of the staff & everybody was so nice to us & our granddaughter. She was all over the place. I took my car in for it's 1st oil change already. I own a hybrid Subaru. This is my first mistake, because Subaru does not offer many hybrids, and they do not really know how to deal with them. ..anyway, back to customer service issue. I had a 11:30 appointment to a diagnostic test on the hybrid system. I sat there until I inquired about my car at 2:00. They then told me the stop/start battery was bad. This is Not covered on my warranty, and the repair will be more than $800. I let out a curse word and said I will not be getting my car repaired there today, I'll just pay the $120, they charged me, to sit there -for hours, while they checked it -and leave now. As I was checking out, I asked them about the battery's in my car. I asked where the stop/start was located. I was told, and I'm not kidding, It is located "in the firewall. " I repeated this, without a smirk on my face- and in all seriousness, "In the firewall, humm, really," And he repeated it again and they added "under my feet." So again, without a smirk, I repeated ?"under my feet?" . I left at 2:30 This is the customer service, I received. (b.t.w. I got a $250 Prius Stop/Start battery and installed it myself . ) It's really kind of sad this happened, because I have done All my oil changes, and tires and breaks, with them, throughout the time I have owned this car. read more

A truly "great experience"! Our comments as we drove away in our 2015 Subaru Outback! Tom Squillace, our Subaru Outfitter, was friendly, patient, non pushy and had a sense of humor as well! The process took awhile because it was between 2 cars. When we 1st arrived it was late on a Thursday and both cars were dirty, we came back Friday and looked at them in sunshine but they were still dirty, we put a monetary hold on them both and were told they would be ready Monday! Well long story short the red one was wasn't because they had gotten busy with end of the month sales and it was next! We weren't in a hurry but this gave us opportunity to get that car pre-certified by Kim Rundell the service manager! Thank you Kim!! The red Outback needed special detailing due to the excessive dog hair in it and it cleaned it up nice but all said and done not nice enough when compared to the other one! We decided on the 2015 "Champagne" Outback and it's beautiful!! We then met Steve, the sales manager, who was yet another friendly guy and we haggled the price a bit and found a happy compromise! Not bad for a place filled with Spartans! I'm a Wolverine... ugh! Anyway! Then on to the financing where we met Jaimie! Super friendly and fun! She explained everything clearly and showed us some personal pictures of her weekend up north! How fun! Tom showed us pictures of his girls and talked about his family! Jaime talked about how much she loved working there and they are treated like family and they spend time after work together. You could tell they all enjoyed working there. The atmosphere was friendly. The showroom was clean. The bathrooms were clean. The waiting area had nice couches with a Tv! The coffee machine was amazing! The kids area was clean. Nice big windows to watch your car being fixed if that happens! And they sent us a congrats on your new car video... and a thank you for your business email and a complimentary 3 month subscription to Sirius radio!! Can you believe that?! We bought our last Subaru elsewhere and we regretted it... the salesman never called us back we had an issue! We felt rushed .. we obviously did not go back and it's 10" from our house! We left that day from Sellers Subaru feeling like we had friends for life!! Thanks Tom, Steve, Jamie and Kim! And of course the technicians we didn't see we pre-certified our Subaru and cleaned it and made it so beautiful!! Note: please don't text and drive! The service department is the worst. The only things they can do are oil changes and tire rotation. Anything more than that and the so called mechanics are clueless. They had no idea what was wrong with my motor. Kept on trying one thing after another for over two years. Kept my car for months on end. I bought a very nice looking 2012 Town & Country on September 19th.  At the time my wife was in labor, so we couldn't go see the van in person, but we needed a vehicle to fit our growing family.  I purchased the vehicle via phone and email.  I was sent a vehicle inspection showing the vehicle had been inspected by Sellers Subaru, and given a clean bill.  So I went ahead with the purchase.  Upon receiving the vehicle, I needed to immediately take it to Goodyear to get 4 new tires, the tires were too bald for me to allow my family to drive in the van.  This was not a deal breaker, because tires are simply a maintenance issue.  The real problem (and one reason for the one star review), is that on November 9th (52 days later), the transmission went completely out.  Now, in 52 days, some folks might be able to really put on some serious miles, and ware on a vehicle, but not us.  This is my wife's vehicle.  We bought it while she was in labor, and it sat mostly in the driveway these 52 days.  We only put one tank of gas through it, around 300 miles.  300 miles going back and forth to doctors appointments with a newborn in the vehicle, so it wasn't being hotroded. So I contact the dealer to inform them that the car they just sold us, had the transmission go out.  They said they would like to see it, and once they diagnosed it they would see if they could, "pay for some of it, none of it, or all of it".  So I paid out of my pocket to get the van from my mechanic's shop, to the dealership.  All the while the dealer said they would have a loaner vehicle for us the next day, then the next day, then the next day, until they inform me that they won't be doing the ethical thing, and fixing the van, and therefore will not be supplying a loaner vehicle.  So I've been paying for Uber and Lyft's on the days that my wife needs to drive my car.  My wife and I own a van that does not drive.  We payed $1,000 for new tires for a car we cannot drive, we are paying a loan on a car we cannot drive, and we're paying insurance on a car we cannot drive. After speaking with a lawyer, he is willing to take our case, to sue the dealer to pay for repairs, a rental vehicle, reimbursement of towing, and Uber & Lyft rides.  He says because the dealership did an inspection of the vehicle, and we only put 300 miles on the vehicle it is a slam dunk case, which I guess is good.  The problem is why is it right to have to sue folks just to force them to do the right thing?  Why don't folks just do the right thing in the first place?  Wouldn't it be cheaper for the dealer to just fix the vehicle, and supply a loaner, then pay a judgment and both sides legal fees?  I guess they assume most folks won't go through with hiring a lawyer and filing suit, and if 1 in 10 folks do, they save money over all.  Just because this tactic might make financial sense, doesn't mean it's right.  It's not right for a dealer to treat folks like this, period. read more

After shopping around and doing some comparing, I just purchased a 2014 Subaru Outback from Megan over at Sellers Subaru. They had the best price for the new car and offered me $1200 over what the previous dealerships had offered for my trade in. Even though I started my car search over a month ago, and just now purchased, I never got any pushy calls from anyone at the dealership. In fact, I am the one that came to them when I was ready to purchase. Megan had all of the paperwork ready and waiting and I was in and out of there in an hour. She took the time to go over all of the features on the vehicle and made this, my 7th car purchase, the easiest and most pleasant.
