I found the foxhole. This bomb-shelter-gone-underground-bar certainly has appeal (especially after you've had at least four drinks and are convinced the entrance really IS hidden). The interior is dark and industrial with a slightly utilitarian, military vibe that invites lawless fun. My major concern is that there is next to no seating and absolutely nowhere to dance. I spent most of my night prancing around looking for a place to stand that wasn't in the traffic flow around the bar, or in line with a pool stick's aim. The build-out doesn't invite mixing or mingling, but the overhanging balcony does make for excellent target practice ... I mean people watching. read more

Great concept, I love the "hidden" foxhole location and vibe inside. I'm with Josh, I saw my tab and was like wow. But no local people are going to want to pay those overpriced tourist prices for a mini drink. Yes Cute glass but the mouthwash cup in my bathroom is a little bigger than that. It's definitely not a place you want to keep an open tab on. Especially because they run a flipping validation "trial" charge more than my gash darn cell phone bill to make sure you have funds. This place SUX!!!! I am from New York and know what a "speakeasy" is. This is a bar that used to be a storage facility. Drinks are overpriced and are not worth it one bit. We asked for a glass of prosecco and the bartender had no idea what it was. OK, vodka soda. Yeah, $30? Come on now! The place was dead and now I know why. Spent $160 on 10 tequila shots. After I signed for the check the bartenders refused to serve me a glass of ice water. They insisted I pay for a bottle of water, saying that it was the "Owners rules" not to serve glasses of water and that they would get in trouble. What a joke. Additionally, the bartenders take away the receipt that indicates that 18% service charge is included when they give you back your card to sign. I asked the bartender if tip was included and she said "no. An 18% service charge is included but the house keeps 10% of that" WHAT?? Ended the night at Bodega down the street. Perfect place to grab a drink and the ultimate spot to watch a game. The pool table and jukebox downstairs are nice touches to a chill atmosphere where the bartenders and waitresses are quick and friendly. I go here any time there is a fight or big game. The upstairs is the best spot in the house with nice lounge areas and a Birdseye view of the whole downstairs bar area with a cool vintage gun collection mounted on the back wall. A must see for any south beach local who doesn't want to pay for ridiculous covers and overpriced drinks. read more

Went to this place last night and it was the worst night I've ever experienced. I was standing up against a wall on my phone and the owner and 2 bouncers took me out by force for no reason. My friends and I had been there for an hour, I accompanied one of them to the bathroom but it was full so I stood outside to wait for her. Bouncer comes up to me says I need to go so I ask why and the owner just tells him to get me out and I ask for a reason but he didn't respond. He walks away and 2 huge obese bouncers come back along with the owner and tell me to leave, I asked for them to let me tell my friends I would be outside so I turned to the bathroom to try to tell them and they proceeded to start pulling my arms and one of them got behind me and pushed me out by force. 3 men twice my size pushed me out for no reason, I felt assaulted and violated. This place is horrible and inhumane, and the owner is as well. Once I was outside I asked why he felt the need to do that and not even let me tell my friends I was going to be outside alone. He said I was not 21, which is false because I am 22. So he told me to call the cops and I did and they got all the information. If I could give 0 stars I would. A place of business should have professionalism when dealing with patrons, no matter if they wanted me out of the establishment for no reason at all there is a way to do so without groping and assaulting someone, especially someone who was not physically resisting. read more

What is up with the rude, angry bartender?! Maybe treating paying customers poorly is supposed to be "cool" but I'd think that not being rude or annoyed by people ordering drinks would make customers feel welcome and they'd stay longer and consume more. Maybe the pretty, blonde bartender was having a bad night but it is never acceptable to be unprofessional to customers. Very disappointed this time around. Foxhole is definitely one of the best spots in Miami beach to get away from all bigger clubs that play intense house music. This bar has the CHEAPEST beers on the beach and a huge variety to choose from. Very chill vibe. I recommend it to everyone that asks me where to go if they don't want to deal with the cover prices at the surrounding bigger clubs. And the bartenders are flat out gorgeous and extremely nice. read more

Had an AWESOME time at this club... cant even tell you how great the DJ was completely unbelievable ALL might... couldn't sit down he was so great!! Good people and excellent drinks. As a frequent bar-goer, I found foxhole, their popular saying, applied to me as I ventured to this bar for my first time last Thursday. I did indeed find it, I say this because for those of you who have never been there be informed that there is no signage or indication that that is the location. Nonetheless that is what makes it secluded and more for the locals. A cozy, very comfortable spot in South Beach that I became very fond of very quickly. Maybe it was the beautiful staff of bartenders or the sense of welcoming the whole staff gave me. I am accustomed the South Beach nightlife, which I hate, and this was far from that. I used to go there almost every week. Before it was different customer service, the bartenders were nice and fast, and yesterday omg ... I went there with my friends , first of all, it took 10 min to make 1 margarita, 1 rom and coke and 1 beer. Then 5 mins to calculate the prize. And even the drinks were the same every time the prize was different. Then I decided to put some Russian music in a jukebox for my friends before we leave since they never heard. I put the songs for extra money to skip the line but it was still 7 songs ahead. So I ordered another round of drinks since we had to wait. And then as soon as my songs started playing manager skipped them. I went and complained to security. He was the only one person which was nice. He said the manager is gonna put it back in 5 mins. We were waiting 10 then I got so mad I called that "manager" I asked him for the money back for the music and for the drinks since we ordered them just to wait for my music which was waiting time and money. And the manager was SUPER RUDE!!! He told me to go away and don't come back. You know what, that's how you act with your regular customers?! I hope the owner is gonna see this comment and find a new manager and new bartenders. read more

I'm a successful business man that was the majority owner (90%) of a 1.8 million dollar resturant/night club in downtown orlando so i'm very familiar with the business. on a daily basis i would wind down my day from my day to day business i own in Miami by going to a neighborhood bar on south beach "foxhole". I'm very popular with the venue, its staff and was told on several occasions by staff members i was told how grateful they were for my consistent regular support to the extent that they surprised me on my birth with a cake baked by one of the employees and was celebrated there along with my girlfriend. I've maintained a great relationship with the manager "phill" where he'd spend time almost daily keeping me occupied on opening the bar since the bar has basically no customer until the late night hours on the earlier week days, once I'm there Phil and myself would play pool to the extent that I bought him a personalized club pool que as a token of my gratitude to him taking the time to facilitate me, music on the Jukebox etc...I would on occasions go out of my way contacting phill via cell phone sending him new customers from a resturant close by that ive recently invested in, maintain a good relationship with him and the bar. On April 9th myself and a friend entered the bar "foxhole" at around 7pm and sat at the bar where I got the usual warm greeting by all the staff with the exception to the three operating partners ( Jason, Conrad and angel ) that had been sitting at one of the booths along with phil and a female companion what seamed to be either hanging-out or conducting a meeting. My friend and I together with a only customer that I was familiar with, ordered some cocktails, I walked over to the jukebox inserted $10 and played my first song, phil immediately ran over, switched the jukebox off, did not refund my cash and said "not now" in a very intimidated demeanor.... I was a little confused but payed it no mind and continued to hang at the bar with my friend (51yrs of age and me 41 yrs of age) my friend asked if they served food and I explained that they have menus made up of Restaurants that deliver to them, he asked if any of them had good wings, I call over the bartender and asked for their menu with the list of restaurants, she gave it to me and I ask,...."what would be the recommendation for good wings", she could not suggest so I resorted to Phil "the manager on duty" I was shun away by him again portraying a shy intimidated demeanor and was told "not now", i went back over to my friend where we determined that this treatment and behavior was wrong and unacceptable especially for the extent of my constant regular visits to the venue and the good customer relations I keep with everyone that works there, so I proceeded back over to the booth where they all sat to plead my case of good customer service where almost immediately the booth erupted and the operating partner Jason exclaimed that I was rude and "needed to leave his bar" I replied "why" he continued to explain that they were in a meeting and sarcastically expressed that he did not what to talk to me about whom on THEIR ORDER MENUS WAS the best choice for chicken wings, and an argument proceeded. Phil and I over my consistence in visit to the bar has developed somewhat of a friendship so in an attempt to defuse the confrontation, he placed both his hand on my sides and started pushing me towards the the door where angle "one of the operating partner" took my drink out of my hands from it spilling onto the floor from phill's attempt to get me outside where he could speak to me in private. Once outside Phill asked me to let him handle it and explained that they were conducting a meeting and did not wanted to be disturbed .....i replied thats its bad customer service. My friend and I payed our bill and left. later that night i stopped in to collect my personal pool que that i also leave at the bar from phil and was informed by him sadly that I would not be welcomed back to the bar anymore. I believe as a successful business man that my advice to the majority owners of fox hole that they should consider taking their three overwhelmed operating partners (Jason, Conrad and angel), make them silent partners, give them no authority on the day to day PR give the operating position to Phil. It will give them possibilities of becoming a land mark on south beach . read more

It's good to see in this era that business men are professionally open to direct criticism and are willing to work towards their customers interest and not their pride or confidence in their methods. I have once reported on this site a very bad experience I had at an upcoming bar, Foxhole, with one of the past managers, Jason. As so did a few other patrons that had similar experience with this manager. I have no idea what has happened to him but what I do know is I was welcomed back to the venue and there have been some management changes made I'm guessing by the operating owners Angel & Conrad. From my experience as a former bar/nightclub owner I can acknowledge that this venue is going to be a landmark on south beach and would be around many years to come similar to the land mark night club Mynt. To draw a reference to my true feelings of this venue now with the adjustments made here is an example of my recent experience: for being one of their frequent patrons at the venue and having casual conversations with the bartenders, as any guy would do at a bar, the bartender (my good friend Kelly) listened to my scotch glass conversation of my wife being nine months pregnant and yet to have a baby shower. To make a long story short, she got together with another bartender, Mikayla, and the bar manager Phil, and hosted my wife the most amazing baby shower a mother to be could have asked for. Every female staff member chipped in and got my newborn amazing gifts and Kelly and Mikayla did an exceptional job of hosting the event, putting together decorations, & setting up the venue to accommodate everyone who attended. While Phil, the bar manger, also attended and kept me company at a near by bar while the women did their thing. This bar and its employees is not just somewhere you hang out its going home to family.
