I got the absolutely worst manicure I've ever had! The pedicure wasn't much better! First I was quoted $65 and ended up paying $105! I must of gotten a student because I usually go to Nikki and she's great. The manicure I could have done better myself. My cuticles weren't even touched. No hand lotion massage, the gel is too raised and uneven and not all the way to my cuticle. It tips of my nails weren't painted and there's bubbles in my nails. I called them when I got home and they had me come back, but all she did was put alittle paint on them and top coat. No manager approached me or asked if I was satisfied. I even had nail gel all over my hands. Unacceptable and should be made right. Too bad I fly out of town tomorrow morning and I don't have the time. I'm VERY disappointed! I went in to take off my acrylic nails and usually they soak them off but today not just one but two different employees ripped my acrylics off with a nail tip when I asked why she (Cindy I believe, she had curly brown hair) were doing it that way they said soak offs take too long and that my nails were too thick for it they continued to rip the rest of my nails off despite my flinching and shaking hands. She made me bleed on two different fingers and managed to cut my nail so short it only hung on by the skin. I've been here before and had proper nail removal so I don't understand why she could not do it and had to be so rude through the whole process. read more

I have tried other techs (at different shops) in between but always found my way back to Cindy. Cindy is professional, efficient and quick! She pays attention to the small details, and is always up for the challenges I may bring her. She is easy to get along with, and fun to be around! Two stars because they did get me in very quickly when I was a walk-in. However, the service I requested was a removal of my dip nails. The nail tech chose to rip them off instead of soaking them. On the last nail she asked me if it hurt, to which I replied "YES." I paid $10 to have someone do something I could have done at home. I've been going to this shop for the last year or so and have notice how different techs speak and behave towards people of color. If you are Caucasian, you'll most likely be greeted with a wide smile with plenty of teeth and if you are anyone of color you will get a grunt and a go sit over there which is so disappointing. It has not always been like this. Service used to be ok but has gone completely down hill. They will also burn your nails with the drill and cut your cuticles while trying to rush through your service and cancel appointment with little to no notice while the same time is posted on the reservation site. I scheduled an appointment for 12:30 and wasnt called back until 1:10! why even make an appointment! The nail tech was so rushed he burned my finger with the grinding tool :( I'd scheduled a color change on my toes, after he complete my burning fingers he simply walked to the front for payment. I didn't bother to mention it, i just wanted to leave and then the bill was $55 dollars! for a fill, he said it's because i got a dip and brought my own gel polish!! I never asked for a dip and would not have if i'd know it was an up charge!!!!!! then they had a $5 take off charge (didnt happen) and a $10 gel polish fee - I BROUGHT MY OWN POLISH... I've been coming to this salon for a long time and this is only the 2nd time I've had crappy service. I went early and maybe that was the problem. The guy that did my nails did a horrible job. I tried talking to him during the process and asking him to make them right only to be told I was difficult. He didn't even want to explain the pricing when I asked why he wasn't doing my cuticles since I was getting a full set. I was told that manicures cost extra with a full set and that if I wanted a simple design it would cost per finger. What the heck!? I will never allow him to work on my nails again. I wish I had the same great experience everyone else is raving about. I'm gonna regret stepping foot in this shop for the next few months. A fill and a toe polish change was all I wanted. I had two lifting nails and two that looked like they would be lifting in about a week, other than that my nails were sturdy like I had them done that day. My tech didn't want to work with them at all and acted as if I was holding on to a set that had been done a month ago (it had been a week and a half). Clearly it was an upsell attempt. I obliged . He immediately starts ripping off all of my nails...no soak, no filing, no nothing. He just forced a tip between my natural nail and acrylic while telling me I needed to relax. Then when I said I was too scared to get a full set because I virtually had no nail bed left he suggested shellac...even more money. Once he realized how traumatized I was he finally said I should just grow them out and not put anything on them because they are too thin now. YA THINK? My nails hurt and I can feel the tissue under my nail bed. Never again. The facility is nice for the price point but I didn't experience any good customer service from the moment I walked in. read more

But they have a few not so great nail techs that routinely mess up the designs or don't listen to what I ask for, which is annoying because the pedicures are around $35. My mom regularly gets shellack or gel nails here every two weeks and she tends to have trouble with some of the techs not listening to her either even though she's a regular and gets basically the same thing every time. THE WORST!!!!! Just left this place and I had the worst experience I've ever had in my life at a nail salon. The tech who did my polish change was absolutely horrible. She attempted to polish my nails in the pedicure chair and did the first coat of white polish VERY sloppy. She then proceeded to try to do the color on top. It did not look right, I asked her more than once to stop because it didn't look right and she insisted it would be ok if she just put on more coats. Finally, I told her it didn't look and it wasn't going to look right. She then began to take off the terrible paint job and as she was doing so, her and another employee began talking about me right in front of me in another language and I flat out asked her if they were talking about me and she said "yes." After she took off the polish she then refused to polish my nails. I asked for who was in charge and not one employee said a word. Finally another worker comes over to see what's going on and she also gets EXTREMELY aggressive and combative with me. This was my first time coming here. With it being beautiful out there was a long wait no matter where I tried before.... I assumed this place would be the same way since there was 6 people seated before me. I was pleasantly surprised when I was called in just a little over 10 minutes! I just set there as many others were helped. When it was my turn, I had Ivy. She was pleasant, efficient, and effective. Ultimately, it was a very good experience. Horrible customer skills. Raised price almost double saying they needed to do a full set instead of the requested fill. Ripped off old set, leaving old acrylic on nail beds and just proceeded to glue on new tips.Refused to shape tips as requested, finally said they didn't have the right pink powder and would just use a different color pink. Not one time , but 3 the technician(a younger chubby guy) was blatantly rude. Finally I said I was leaving. He half assed taking off the tips he glued on and demanded payment when he couldn't and wouldn't provide requested services. I have been getting nails for 20 years and have never encountered such a rude, incompetent technician. My girls and I spend upwards of $600 a month in nail salons and this place will never see a penny of our money again. read more

Love coming here with my mom and sister because they have so many pedi stations that we always get to sit by each other. They are generally quick and efficient at getting you in and out the door. The pricing isn't bad either. I will say though, that sometimes I get a technician who looks annoyed to be there and annoyed because he/she has to do my nails. Sometimes they hurry through it and I feel completely jipped out of my massage. Which is the best part of a pedicure I mean come on! If I knew of a different place that had similar pricing and a lot of stations I would probably switch and stop coming here. read more

I had gone to the Lee's Summit location for years and eventually followed Tim to his own shop; however I have recently moved to Independence so I tried this location assuming it would be the same great service. Sadly I was wrong. I came in and asked the lady to do a short stiletto nail and based on the fact that I left with short square nails I'm not sure she even tried to listen. I think she had an appointment come in while I was there because she then rushed thru the rest of my nails. They are uneven and look like I am already in need of a fill. She asked me before polishing if I liked the shape and I informed her that I had asked for stiletto but clearly this would have to work; she didn't respond but instead started being more rough thru the remainder of service. Being in the service industry myself I of course still paid for not only my nails but my cousins nails including a generous tip because I believe in karma. ( luckily my cousin's birthday nails that were done by someone else turned out great!) Needless to say after spending $77 for the 2 sets of nails today I will now start driving 40 minutes to Tim's new shop out by Greenwood (nailtopia-- they do amazing work!!) from now on. I tried to make the appointments online with no success. You have to know who is working etc. When I tried to make the appointments by calling, the line was always busy. I emailed and a man called me and very abruptly telling me I should have made the appointments online. We arrived and tried to tell the older woman up front that we had 4 appointments. I went to check in and she yelled no! My friend tried to ask her a question and she yelled at her waving to go sit down. I told the nail tech 3 different things and every time I would point out something I would like done, she said okay and never did them! My polish was gone in a day and when I went to give the tip to my daughters tech she got smart with me. I took my daughter there and a friend for her first mani pedi experience and didn't want to ruin anything for her or I would NOT have left a tip and would have left. Absolutely do not go back or suggest it to anyone. It deserves 0 stars. read more

I had a lovely nail technician, very chatty and sweet. But unfortunately the service was very sloppy and definitely nothing more than I could have done at home. I agreed to the deluxe option. The foot bath was 100% scalding hot and I couldn't put my feet in, and was then overly cooled down to being a cold bath. My nails were shaped and trimmed to entirely different proportions. And the technician nicked my paint with her excessively long manicure, which also had been digging into my flesh like blades during the service. I don't know why I had to ask for toe spacers either, after she had already painted. she seemed to have trouble putting them on because of her long nails. She did of course correct the paint voluntarily and promptly, and again she was very nice. I would not want to get a specific person into trouble - but after this one visit, I definitely would not recommend this place for quality. read more
