They told me there was an appointment at 10am already scheduled. I come here at 10:45am, it's closed. And now it is 11am. No one there. Kind of not cool. Was looking forward to donating my hair. I didn't receive an email or phone cancelation either. I confirmed my appointment in the email as well. My advice, if you can't show up, call me or email me. Also, it's especially not cool when it's a hair donation for a kid. I understand life happens, but I drove 1 hr for this. The least you can do is inform me of a cancelation. Also, just to add, I was also getting charged for the cut too. So the stylist was suppose to get paid/tipped.

I had not known that otherwise I would have rejected the appointment. My hair lifts easily, and Haley noted that. Despite that, she used too strong a developer and damaged my hair beyond belief. Not only that. She missed half of my head with toner. She noticed. And didn't tell me. She let me leave the salon with half of my head not toned. It's very noticeable from the back. I didn't see it at the appointment because she didn't show me the back - and now I know why. That's the worst of it, but she also didn't rinse my hair properly, so I still had product dried up and crusty in my hair. And she barely used any product while she blew out my hair on the highest heat, burning my scalp a couple of times and damaging my hair even more. And it was still a bit wet by the time I left. I'm usually pretty relaxed, so I didn't complain until after I went home and noticed that my head wasn't properly toned (which is also not that hard to do, I've done it myself during covid lockdowns - so it really is incredible that she messed up this bad and didn't say anything, hoping I wouldn't notice). Nothing about my experience with Haley was positive. Her work was incredibly sloppy, negligent, and dishonest. Edited to add (in response to Howie, the owner): You know the issue isn't with the toner itself - I did not see that she didn't do the back otherwise I obviously wouldn't have been "pleased". Again, you know this. I have a photo attached. You see how bad it is. I don't know why you're trying to act like that quality of service is okay. I didn't realize Red Chair's standards were so low, and I regret that I gave you all a shot :/ Also, I have to spend the holidays looking like this. So thanks for that.

Andy helped me work out a plan for it and did a cut that gave my fine, very straight hair lots of movement, texture, and style even with my super low maintenance daily routine. It's been a week now since getting it cut, and sometimes when you do that first week (or even first wash) you have a moment where you're like "hey where'd all the cool haircut go, it's just mush again?" NOT SO. This one maintains great movement and texture even with just blow drying it the night before and tossing texturizer in it in the morning (which I got at a discount thanks to their welcome package). I also loved seeing all the different types of neighborhood people around--not just like fancy people getting their hair done but a really wide spectrum from older dudes to younger NB folx and femmes. I paid a lot and tipped very well just for it to look like an amateur cut my hair. Don't come here. I regret coming here as I looked better with my dead ends. I could've cut my own hair better which I have. This was supposed to be a pick me up to make me feel beautiful now 2 days later I am in regret not feeling like how I should and wanted. Sooooo expensive and terrible results. Also they could've been friendlier. I felt she got tired blow drying my hair. They are supposed to be knowledgeable in long, thick hair, curly hair, wavy hair. I wanted to choose this stylist due to her good reviews but I really cannot recommend her or this salon. I don't like leaving bad reviews but I am distraught. If you're looking for a curly haircut in the Seattle area, especially if you have textured or curly hair, Foxycut is hands down the best salon!!!This isn't one of those places where someone took a single curly hair class and suddenly calls themselves a curly hair specialist. The stylists here are deeply invested in their craft, and it shows!! As a queer BIPOC person with very thick, dense curly hair, I've been to more "curly specialists" than I can count. Miguel is amazing!! He's cut my hair through so many stages of my hair. From chronic illness flare ups to postpartum hair loss, and everything in between. Every time I leave the salon I leave with more confidence and energy. What I appreciate most is that you don't just get a great curly haircut. Miguel takes the time to explain what he's doing, teaches you how to care for your curls at home, and recommends products that actually work for your specific hair. Beyond the incredible haircuts, Foxycut has created a genuinely welcoming space. It's one of the few salons where I truly feel comfortable as a BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and neurospicy/neurodivergent person. You can tell they've put real thought into making the salon inclusive, affirming, and accessible. Foxycut is everything you need!! I'm so happy to write a review for Lily T. at FoxyCut! I have a 9-yr-old African-American daughter with extremely thick and tightly-wound hair. Lily has taken great care and has a wonderful way with children! After a a few appointments, Lily made some great recommendations to make my daughter's life easier and her hair more fun to take care of. Lily applied a gentle relaxer, leaving it on just long enough to provide some ease to the texture of my daughter's hair. It still have plenty of curl and is very healthy, but is now easier to wash and comb out. Lily is also a GENIUS with various types of corn rows and braids. My daughter gets compliments all the time. My sweet little girl suffered many years of tugging and pulling at home and in the salons spending torturous hours in the stylist's chair. Now she LOVES seeing Lily! The salon is quirky and fun. Lily is sweet and interesting. And my daughter walks out feeling beautiful and proud of her hair--which is always in a NEW different style each time we go! Lily is a gem of a find--a rare talent with ethnic hair, but also a genuinely nice person who listens to her customers and truly cares about their needs! I just moved to Seattle and decided it was time to take the leap of faith and get my hair colored. I found Foxycut on Google, and am I ever glad I did! I booked my consult and fantasy color appointment with Cam through the Vagaro app. Cam was prompt with accepting both appointments and even rescheduled seamlessly with me when I had to push back our main color appointment due to work. The salon itself is laid back with a come as you are vibe, we watched music videos and some movies (I was there from 10am to 6pm). The stylists themselves there were very attentive to their customers and knowledgeable of their craft and abilities. Cam was no exception in this as she was very informative throughout the process and even with how the aftercare of my hair should go. She was incredibly thorough, and it shows in the finished result! My hair is THICK, long, and a bit curly (I have a 2b situation going on), so I am always apprehensive if stylists will be up to the challenge that is my hair. Cam did not disappoint! She was communicative, patient and answered all of my questions. I could tell she truly cared how my hair would come out. I have been going to Foxycut for haircuts from Miguel for many years. Miguel is a wonderful stylist. Every time, I get my hair done by him, I get many compliments from friends, coworkers and total strangers who stop me to ask where I get my hair done. Having visited several mid to high end salons in Seattle, I have to say I prefer going to Foxycut because I like the service, and above all the warmth and friendliness of the people who work there. These are real people who care for their customers and for their community. I love the down to earth environment. Miguel pays a lot of attention to detail which makes a huge difference to not only how you look after a cut or a coloring but also the longevity of the style. I wear my hair short. As a busy professional, not having to keep getting trims very often is a big plus. Miguel works with me to find styles that compliment me well and cuts each strand precisely so that when it grows out, it still retains it shape. After hearing rave reviews and seeing amazing pictures of final products from Foxy Cut for two years, I decided I'd make an appointment. I wish I had made one sooner! Miguel is a true artist--he sits down with you to really get a feel for what you're looking for, talking you through each idea you might have, and he's pragmatic in choosing colors that compliment you and your ideal result. The atmosphere of the salon is like a family...I never felt uncomfortable or bogged down with forced small talk. And everyone is so friendly and funny! To top it off, Miguel discounted my ombré, the shampoo and conditioner I bought, and even fit me in a day later to really top off the color job. I've never been so impressed with a salon or stylist. I have had my hair cut by each stylist. They are all very good, but I was especially excited for my haircut today. I have seen Miguel in action, as he has cut my sisters hair three times now. Today, I was lucky to have had my hair cut by him! Miguel is a true stylist, as he listens to what you want and your ideas. There is no 'set way' that he creates a specific look. He goes by your hair, its texture, how it lays naturally, and spends time on what he is doing. Its truly a custom cut. I highly recommend Miguel and Foxycuts. I loved Foxycut!!! I walked in today and the owner, Miguel, got me in immediately! The place is super cool; great music, good conversation between all the stylists, and my hair and beard looked amazing by the time he was done! Price is very reasonable, and compared to other places in the area, this is by far the place where you get the most for your money. After one trip, I'm sold, and will be coming back at least once a month. I live in West Seattle, so coming to Pioneer Square can be a bit of a hassle but it is absolutely worth it!! I highly recommend Foxycuts!! I was a little uptight about trying a new hairstylist but Miguel was very welcoming and friendly. I was looking for a change and wasn't sure what type of hair cut I wanted and Miguel walked me through several different ideas that were much better than what I had in mind. After deciding on my haircut Miguel was very through in explaining exactly what he was going to do and made me feel very comfortable. I love Miguel and his foxy cuts! The down home salon produces a sense of walking into a Pioneer Square style episode of Sesame Street. Miguel is obviously embedded in the community, which I find charming, as drop-in 'hellos' and high-fives, are abundant. He gives sexy cuts and can make beautiful 'om' designs on a near shaved head (he will work with you with what you want!). Miguel Vigil rocks. He took my hair from a deep copper red, to a light pink without any damage at all. Many know that lifting red from hair to take it to a platinum enough tone to hold pink can be SCARY. He hit the color I wanted on the nose and was a blast to spend time with. I absolutely love my silver hair by Miguel at Foxycut Salon. At my first appointment, I came in with completely botched and fried hair that wouldn't hold color from a failed at-home dyeing job. Over the course of a few appointments, Miguel got me to a gorgeous silver balayage with dark brown shadow roots. Despite numerous bleachings, my hair feels healthier than it did at the start. I absolutely loved working with Miguel, who I went to for coloring services. He lightened my hair from dark brown to a near-white, followed by a beautiful pastel sky-blue and lavender ombre with UV-reactive green highlights which glowed under black lights. He was as skillful as he was wonderful to hang out with. I got so many compliments on his beautiful coloring - especially when it was glowing! I'll definitely be back! I came in for a lock repair and reattachment service, and the level of care and attention to detail she brought to every row was incredible. She was extremely thorough, patient, and intentional in her work, and it really showed in the final result. Ella also did a great job answering all of my questions throughout the process, explaining what she was doing and why, which made me feel really comfortable and confident in her expertise. In retrospect I remember that Antonio did Not show me the back of my head! It was days later when the other nurses I work with commented on how bad the back of my head looked and asked why none of the grey was blended into the rest of my hair, causing it to have a tacky chunky look. Please keep in mind that I had a lengthy consultation before my hair was touched and I expressed wanting a medium size foil and used my fingers to show how wide I wanted. He also said that his partial foils start at the temples to crown. Antonio ONLY foiled my hair from crown to cheek bone and so I had only a layer ( few inches ) of color on top. HE NEVER PUT ANY COLOR IN MY GREY HAIRLINE Keeping in mind that I was so blinded by his phenomena haircut and blow out that I kept telling him how much I loved it. After I saw the back of my head and had negative comments about the color I messaged him about how bad the color is and I sent him the exact same pic of the color that I am posting on here. Desperate to get halfway livable color I convinced myself to give him a benefit of the doubt that he could correct his work, I told him I would let him touch it based solely on his reviews. In r retrospect my guess is that the reviews are either very old or faked. Ultimately he refused to refund me one penny and offered to put a toner on. That's rediculous because what I needed was More bleach not darker. Keep in mind that I showed him pictures of the color I wanted during the consultation. Then he said that he would charge me $220 dollars to fix it. What I need is a COLOR CORRECTION. I'm getting upset writing this review. I didn't want the negative energy of reliving all of this but kept imagining some poor woman having him color her hair for the holidays and felt an obligation to let you know precisely what he did. These pic were taken a few days after the color and are the same ones I sent him when I asked for refund. I went in not knowing much about color and feel a little taken advantage of. I was clear in the beginning I didn't want red / yellow tints in my hair which is what I ended up with. We could've added more glaze to cover it up but Lan wanted to leave for the Friday. When I said the result was too orangey, she said my hair would change in the sun and her lighting was warm and it only looks like that in the top part of my head because that part is much more dense. I went to another salon to correct the color who thought I'd done it myself from a box. They told me that it was strange that Lan didn't use foil to lighten the hair and the lightest hair would get with that method was orange. They said the only reason to not use foil is the amount of time it took which checked out with how rushed it felt. I had to go to another salon and sit in a chair for six hours to take out the remaining red Orange with foil. I was also told the color job was uneven and was lifting unevenly. Overall it was a total waste of money and a half ass job. Instead of owning up to anything, Lan gave me excuses saying the uneven application made it look natural, etc. She was super friendly and personable though.

I expect the hair length on each side of my head to look and feel even and for texturing to be done so I can wash and air dry my hair without using product when I choose. Apparently, this is a big ask because it took 5 yrs trying multiple salons for someone to do it. Sofi at Antonio Salon did an amazing job the first time cutting my hair and texturing the way I like. I'm very pleased and will definitely be coming back. $150. is a lot to pay for a haircut but I'm willing to pay the extra $30. dollars above what I typically pay to get it done right by someone who is willing to take their time and do a good job. Sofi is excellent, pays attention to the details and really listens to what matters to you.

That put me in the hands of master colorist Jessica, who is excellently knowledgeable, honest about level-setting expectations, and has an admirable focus on hair health (given that I was requesting almost white-blonde hair from a previously dyed base color). She accomplished remarkable results in one sitting, with some clever improvisation, though I needed a second appointment to reach full platinum (due to the condition of my hair). Notably, because this is an Aveda salon, my hair texture remained super soft despite the intense bleaching. They really care for your hair and give you guidelines to maintain it. My second appointment was with Brad, who is a recent hire, gifted colorist, and very pleasant company. He took me to full platinum and gave me advice for keeping my hair color icy. I was more than pleased with the results. I'd like to add a special shoutout to Acacia, who manages appointments and makes you feel very much at home. The vibe in the salon is relaxing and spa-like -- which is a mercy during lengthy color appointments. Cannot recommend this place enough, especially if you are committed to natural, vegan hair care.
