For this #ThankYouThursday, I want to recognize Fra Amici for their amazing service and food. Me and my husband continue to order takeout from here once a week at least because everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, on the menu is so good. We have tried something from every section of the menu now and are confident you can't go wrong no matter what you choose. Our newest favorite menu item is Grandma's pizza. Our friends who were over to try it even said it's the best pizza they've ever had. I will agree that it's the best pizza I've ever had (in Buffalo, that is because I've been to Italy so I can't say it's the best in the world). The employees are always so friendly and prompt with service as well. The food is always ready on time and never takes long. This place needs more business because they truly deserve it! They are available for online ordering so you can get it delivered through DoorDash or Uber Eats too!

Small (12", 6 slice) Cheese, Pep, Bacon, Sweet Pepper, Onion Pizza: Each slice held the toppings very well

I tried Fra Amici back in early March 2022, right about the time they had opened to the public after LombarDough's closed. In short, it was a fine experience, but the pizza didn't do it for me. I called and placed an order for pick-up around 4:45pm. The woman who answered was very nice and and told me to come in about 20 minutes. I arrived and parked on the side street as I had done when it was LombarDough's. I walked in and was immediately cashed out and given my pizza. I spoke to the woman who answered the phone and she explained how they had just opened and she was incredibly nice! It came across that Fra Amici was a family-owned and run business, so that's excellent to see. For dinner, I ordered a small (12", six slice) "Clark Classic": cheese, pepperoni, bacon, green (or sweet) pepper, and onion pizza. The pizza was ok, but honestly, I wasn't blown away. At least to me, the dough and crust tasted like like a Digiorno frozen pizza. The dough was not Buffalo-style but it wasn't NYC-style, a kind of middle ground. The crust did have some crunch to it. The red sauce was savory and spiced, not sweet, at least that's what I tasted. There were plenty of toppings giving each slice a nice variety of textures though. I don't expect, nor do I want, every pizza shop in Buffalo to be the same with the dough and sweet red sauce but I felt nothing stood out about this pizza. The size of the pie was good, it filled me up and it was very reasonably priced, one of the more affordable pizzas in the area (as of March 2022). Overall, Fra Amici is fine. The staff were very nice and quick and their prices were pretty affordable (as of March 2022). The pizza though was forgettable though, nothing stood out about it, at least to me. From the Google reviews, Fra Amici seems to have a growing customer-base, which makes me glad. This is not on my list of go-to pizza shops, but I wish them all the best!

Excellent food every time. Any of the pastas are always cooked perfectly. Great prices. So glad we found this hidden gem in South Buffalo.

I'm always on the lookout, keeping my ear to the ground, for great pizza places in Buffalo…read more Although sometimes, I just want to try some place new. I had heard good things about Naked City Pizza, so I decided to take a break from my usual spots and give them a try and overall, I am very pleased! I called around 4:45pm on a Saturday and a gentleman took my order. He was courteous and friendly and said my order would be ready in 25-30 minutes. I arrived about 30 minutes later, easily finding a parking spot in their large parking lot, which is a mixture of pavement and dirt/gravel. Walking inside the shop, it's similar to most Buffalo pizza shops where it's relatively small and really about take-out, not for dining in. There were a few young guys working the counter and ovens, they were able to get me in and out quickly. From the limited time I was inside, the workers were friendly enough, they seemed to get along well. For dinner, I ordered a Quarter Sheet (6 slices) Steak and Three Cheese pizza but the gentleman who took my order over the phone put my order in as a Half Sheet (12 slices). They realized the mistake too late and gave me the Half Sheet for the Quarter Sheet price! I really do appreciate that, it's great customer service. I have half a pizza leftover for a quick dinner now! Naked City Pizza nails the traditional Buffalo-style with a doughier undercarriage and nice crispy, chewy crust. The dough was airy but it didn't seem as "heavy" as many other pizza places around Buffalo, but maybe I was just REALLY hungry. haha For their steak pizza, it seems like they use thicker pieces of steak, which was great, definitely felt more substantial. Most steak pizzas come topped with banana, hot, or sweet (bell/green) peppers, but Naked City uses roasted red peppers, which are sweet and have a more distinct flavor and softer texture - I was impressed, this paired VERY well with the other components! Along with them, there's also onions on top. The three cheeses used are cheddar, mozzarella, and parmesan, which of course are delicious. In addition to the roasted sweet peppers, the other component that I was surprised by was the white garlic sauce as the base. Steak pizzas around Buffalo vary from using a "hoagie oil/sauce" to just a huge variety of cheeses, no base sauce of any kind. I tend to stay away from white sauce on pizza as it's usually associated with garlic (I don't want my breath to be too... fragrant haha), but this wasn't too garlic-y, I didn't feel like I was "wearing it". I enjoyed the added creaminess the white sauce added to this pie. After six slices, I stopped myself and put the other half in the freezer. The six slices I had were delicious and filled me up nicely - The squares were cut nicely and they were plenty filling with tons of meat and cheese. I have a feeling these will reheat in the oven nicely. Looking at the prices, I was impressed too with how affordable Naked City Pizza is! All-in-all, I'm glad I gave Naked City Pizza a chance and had a great experience! The staff are friendly enough and quick, it's easy to get in and out quickly, and the pizza is traditional Buffalo-style so it's on the heartier end while being affordable. I look forward to ordering and trying a red sauce pizza from Naked City Pizza to see how sweet their sauce is.

I took my son there for lunch the other day, and we were warmly welcomed by the owner, who as it turns out, I knew from his previous restaurants stops. I hadn't seen him in about 15 years, but I recognized him instantly. Great service, polite and courteous staff, and delicious fresh food, are my initial reactions. I was surprised how good the San Franco pizza was! I also had a bowl of Pasta Fasola which was outstanding. I live in the city of Buffalo between Delaware and Elmwood and there are many pizza places around here, plus, I grew up on Bocce on Bailey pizza. However, the Forno Napoli pizza now ruins all others for me. I have never been to Italy, but I imagine this is what pizza is like there. Authentic and fresh. I'm taking all 3 of my kids back there tonight. Trying their salads and pasta as well. This place was very busy on a weekday at 4pm, so it is not a secret. It is also not cheap. You are paying for the quality of the food, and it is worth it.

When you're ready to order, head up to the counter. After ordering, head back to your seat and the will bring you your food when it's ready. My friend had the meatball sandwich (napoletana panini). It looked fantastic. But when I asked his rating, he gave it 6/10 stars. However, I wouldn't trust anyone who doesn't like cheese so take it with a grain of salt I was torn between the Bianca and Quattro pizza so I asked the kind man at the register for his suggestion; he said the Bianca is more popular so I went with that. I enjoyed my pizza, although I wouldn't order this one again. I do want to say that it is pricey but you will get a very big pie of great quality. The dough was excellent! It was actually my favorite part and I've never said that about any pizza! Atmosphere is extremely casual. There's fruit infused waters to have and you go and grab them yourself (back right corner). But you can order bottles of soda, alcohol, etc. Also in the back right corner are small pizza boxes for leftovers you can grab if needed. When you cash out, be sure to enter your phone number for the rewards program!

When you first enter, there is a phenomenal selection of specialty pies, and all are included in their two slice & soda special for $9. They offer both fountain sodas and a generous selection of refrigerated drink options also. Once you order, there is a back dining room with several different size tables, but all with Bills chairs, which is a neat trend we loved seeing in this area, despite being from Florida. The man who greeted us was kind helpful and I was impressed with the pizza options. We ordered: - Buffalo Chicken: had a really good flavor & was my favorite! - BBQ Chicken: my son loved it - Margerhita: also had a good flavor - Pickle: the best we've had by far - Beef Pattie: looks like a Jamaican one but isn't spicy and had a very strange almost veal or lamb taste. Overall the flavors of the pizzas were really very good, but unfortunately every slice was so overcooked and burnt that it quickly overtook the great flavor of each bite. Now, the thing is, everyone likes different kinds of pizza, and apparently Brooklyn style isn't necessarily our jam, but for something we really don't like (black crust), it was still very good and we would highly recommend it to people who like more cooked pizza.

This time I ordered their take on a WNY specialty pizza: the chicken finger pizza. In short, it was fantastic! Since I'm a member of their rewards program, I received a "$5 off your next order" code and figured it'd been a couple months since my last visit. The coupon couldn't have come at a better time. I placed my order online on a Saturday around 4:15pm for a 5:05pm pick-up. I know, you lose a bit of the personability when you don't call the restaurant to place an order, but online ordering is so easy and quick, and I love being able to pick my pick-up time and know my order will be ready, and paid for, when I arrive. As of 07/2026, the inside of One Pie Pizza Co. underwent a remodel. It's not as spacious, but I think it opens up their kitchen more, which I'm 100% on-board with since that means more pizza and other goodies. The staff are just as friendly and courteous as ever, I'm glad that hasn't changed. So, for dinner, I ordered a QTR Sheet (six slice) from their "SUPER Specialty Pizza" menu - The BFLO Chicken Finger (blue cheese base) cooked "LIGHT WELL DONE", which is a choice between their homemade red sauce or blue cheese base that is topped with diced chicken fingers, mozzarella cheese, and Frank's (medium) sauce. The "LIGHT WELL DONE" option is for cooking the dough underneath a bit more, firming it up, making it crispier. I like a little extra cook on my pizza as, sometimes, the Buffalo-style dough is a bit too limp, almost soggy/wet, which makes holding a slice... challenging. haha Now, I've had a few chicken finger pizzas throughout the years and while I love them, they don't always love me back. They're typically very dense pizzas thanks to all the cheese (blue cheese base AND cheese blends on top) but I was impressed with how well One Pie Pizza Co.'s sat. Don't get me wrong, this pizza is absolutely loaded. When I opened the box, I was worried how I was going to pick it up as it looked messy, but as they say, appearances can be deceiving! I was impressed and didn't finish my meal wearing it all over my hands and face. Every slice was generously topped, the flavor was spot-on. Now, I love a cheesy pizza, but I really appreciate the constraint One Pie Pizza Co. showed with not going overboard with a "blend" of cheeses on top of a blue cheese base - The layer of mozzarella was plenty, a great flavor on its own. As with all of their pizza, this left me happy and full. With that $5 off coupon, this brought the price to under $20, an incredible price, especially in 2026! One Pie Pizza Co. remains one of my favorite pizzas in Buffalo. I'm glad I finally tried their chicken finger pizza, this was excellent. With how well it agreed with me, I'm pretty confident in saying One Pie Pizza Co. will be where I order chicken finger pizzas from exclusively going forward!
