I was highly disappointed in the Brunchery. First off, the music is loud - so trying to have a conversation with someone is near impossible unless you are screaming. Next, the service was bad - but they charge an automatic 18% gratuity so service doesn't need to step up since they automatically get 18%. in addition to the 3% fee for business and 3.5% for using a credit card, which I asked the waiter about debit card and he said no the fee wouldn't be charged (if using a dc places remove that fee), but still charged. The food also lacked flavor which is good they had hot sauce which had spiders and flies all over it, so cleanliness is another issue. I Want to start off by saying the French Toast flight is excellent, came out extremely fast and was really really delicious especially the flavor of the week (Banana Pudding). Next thing is the price and it's the reason they lose another star gratuity was included for a party of 2 that's fine, I don't know why that's the case but that's fine, however they charged a service charge that's built into the bill and charged another service charge of 3% on top of that one for paying by card. Tad bummed, a few of my other instagram influencers went to this location and their food and drinks looked great. It's very cute on the inside and has areas for photo ops. I ordered the jerk shrimp and grits, I'm sorry it was trash. We also ordered the bacon flight, nearly every piece was burnt. The food is not worth the price. Came here this morning for brunch! It has a fun upbeat vibe and lots of selling points for brunch - like mimosa flights and fun pancake and French toast options. We went with the bacon flight, the cinnamon roll pancakes, and the lox platter for one. I enjoyed the variety of the bacon flight and loved the pancakes - the icing on them was a nice touch. The salmon platter left me pretty disappointed though. It was a generous portion and I liked the assortment of toppings, but the salmon was off. It just didn't taste fresh. I'd definitely love to come back here and give this place another shot. The French toast looks awesome and so did a lot of entrees at the tables next to us. read more

You have to go here for brunch!! The food is good, fast, and affordable. The bacon flight is $10 for 5 different strips of bacon. It includes pork, turkey, pork belly, jalapeño, and Canadian( in order of picture). The homestyle skillet is fulfilling and comes with a side of bread of your choice. How can I say amazing with food? This place gets it. A recent visit to Chicago made me haunt for great brunch food! I definitely found it. The parking is off the street. We took an Uber and were able to get dropped off in front of the restaurant. The restaurant itself is not huge, maybe 50-60 capacity. However it doesn't feel snug so you can definitely enjoy your brunch without strangers on top of you! The menu had so many great choices but I decided on the French toast flight and the Jerk Chicken Omelette. The French toast flight is $16 and comes with 5 slices of French toast. Basically a sampler with strawberry, chocolate,blueberry, banana and nut and vanilla bean rum. I think Vanilla Bean Rum was the special for the day so the 5th selection is whatever it is that day! Anytime you close your eyes as you're eating French toast...it's good!!! The vanilla bean rum was my favorite. It was simply delicious . It was moist and that sauce was heavenly. The strawberry French toast had a glaze topped with fresh strawberries. I could tell those strawberries weren't even a day old. Fresh,fresh, fresh baby. As if it couldn't get any better.... That jerk chicken omelette was soooo good! It comes with a choice of potatoes. I ordered a mango Margarita trying to be grown. It was good but I am not a drinker so the balance of alcohol to the drink.. I couldn't tell you. I wasn't tipsy after so maybe it didn't have enough alcohol. But I didn't care because it was good. So I'm a little torn here because some of the items we ordered were out of this world however some were just okay. The cinnamon roll pancakes and the latkes were amazing. On the other hand our truffle French fries were cold (the aioli also didn't taste of truffles at all), and the bacon flight was pretty gross (also mostly ham and not bacon?). I think if you order the right things this would be an incredible brunch, but just note not everything on the menu will be 5 stars. Also the service, though super friendly, was really sparse. The mimosa flight was very good. My wife and I got different flavors and most all of them were tasty. The steak was underwhelming at best and I would avoid ordering that. The scrambled eggs were tasty, light and fluffy. They were not in a hurry to refill coffee. Not the best and not the worst. Their mimosa flight just wasn't it (loveddd their Dragonfruit, but thought their Orange Juice + Grapefruit was ehhhhh). Well, the place was packed and the staff was very friendly. My friend and I stopped in for brunch last weekend, for brunch. My friend enjoyed her eggs and potatoes very much. I always struggle with brunch because I am vegan and this time was no exception. The waiter suggested I get the sautéed vegetable platter, which I did, and I also ordered a toasted bagel with a side of peanut butter. They had no peanut butter so I had it dry, since I don't eat dairy. The vegetables were good and tasty, but it was about 85% potatoes. I was sorry I hadn't ordered from the build your own section, where I could have specified more vegetables (and less potatoes). Because I was brunching alone I was pushed aside and made to wait extra longer. I had to go to a different person after waiting an hour and 15 and he was able to seat me but told me that he normally doesn't seat One person at a 2 table seat. WTH?! Come on, do better! He has simply the best personality...that alone makes you want to come back because Customer Service is everything. It is spacious but can fill up quick due to being a poplar restaurant in a popular location and they do not accept reservations. (Give your self enough time to find parking). The food was alright to me nothing to brag about. I had the biscuit with homemade gravy, eggs and cheese and cheesy hashbrowns. The cheesy hashbrowns were not good at all the over do it with the cheese and the eggs didn't have nothing on it no salt or pepper. Overall: After 6 years between visits, I can happily recommend the new and improved Frances'. The good: 6 years ago the menu was strictly diner, which was fine but also lacked any variety or healthy options. Sometimes that's what you look for, but I was glad to be overwhelmed with options this time around. There's something for everyone, no matter what they're in the mood for. The waffle was large, fluffy, and packed with flavor thanks to the blueberry compote on top of it. Absolutely horrible service here. We came for brunch yesterday (party of 3) and sat outside. Our waiter was very unresponsive - didn't come back after taking our order. Had to ask for water multiple times before he would bring it. Kitchen "lost our ticket" - we waited 55 minutes for food to arrive, meanwhile every table around us got food quickly.
