We've passed this place going to and from the shore, and finally thought we'd try them out. No reservation required, and there's a pretty large bar area plus table seating. I'm not sure about alcohol prices or specials, but the bar sure was popular. Fortunately, there wasn't any wait for a table on this Sunday evening. First, they bring out the (endless) bread and butter- well, once you order, that is. The bread tastes fresh and warm, the butter is cold but still spreadable. I ordered the housemade spaghetti with marinara, which did taste good and fresh. My sister ordered the chicken parmesan, and received a whopping portion (a whole plate was just the chicken, with the pasta in a side bowl). Prices are a little more than expected, which is worth it for the portions- however, I felt that my pasta portion was a little underwhelming after seeing the chicken parmesan portion. Our meals also came with house salads, which I thought tasted great as well. Service was consistently fast and very friendly as well. We're looking forward to our next shore trip so we can stop at Francesco's again!

Saturday night dinner.

3.5 stars We have lived in the area for about 11 years and finally got around to trying Francesco's. The Hammonton area has too many Italian joints! Nothing stands out. Anyway, we were seated quickly and drink order taken immediately. Our server was really nice and informed us of Saturday specials. Brought us bread, which was average. Me: manicotti with house salad Her: chicken marsala with chicken pastina soup. The sauce of my manicotti was watery. Pasta a bit over cooked, which made it chewy. Chicken was whole pieces and flavorful. Homepasta on side was good. Soup was just okay, low on chicken. Decor in restaurant is dated. Looks 80/90ish. Rug was tired and worn, kinda dirty. The restaurant had a musty smell. All in all an okay place...would we return probably not.

The best fresh orange an vodka martini drink is the best!

Atlantic Ave near the train tracks in Audubon. Their menu drew me in as they offer a wide selection of soups by the day as well as sandwiches, wraps, grilled cheese, burgers and hot dogs. Just think cozy comfort food. The inside has ample seating if you plan to dine in and a small counter in the rear to order out. I was greeted by a friendly young lady who was patient with me as I looked over the menu. I decided on a grilled cheese and green split pea soup. It was hard to decide because there were so many yummy looking choices. Service was quick and efficient. I was in and out in about 10 minutes. Everyone was very pleasant. The grilled cheese was perfect! So delicious! The split pea soup w/ homemade croutons and tiny bits of ham throughout sure hit the spot on this cold winter day. The place was very clean and cozy and there was a bit of a lunch rush so they definitely have a good reputation. Would love to see them expand their footprint. We could use more places that offer simple comfort food at affordable prices in South Jersey. Can't wait to return to try another one of their soups...and a grilled cheese. ***Oh! This is a CASH ONLY establishment. Apparently they also accept Venmo.***

What a hidden gem! Definitely a strip mall/bar vibe but the food is very upscale. We started with…read morethe filet bruschetta which consists of a good size filet medallion over crusty bread with delicious spinach. They started us with a nice plate of breads with butter and tomato topping which was warm and fresh. My son had the ravioli trio which he loved and I had the pork chop fra diavolo. You could cut that pork chop with a fork it was so tender. The sauce was more like a vodka sauce or creamy marinara but was not fra diavolo sauce. But it was still delicious. It took us 40 minutes to get there and definitely worth the trip. We will be returning soon.

A Sunday, 98 degrees out and the 1st thing we notice is that it is sweltering inside. No big deal. The martini, $15, missing the top 3rd of the pour. We watched as the server told the bartender to stop pouring so he wouldnt spill it walking over. Reasonable perhaps? No! Because we watched as the bartender poured himself the rest of our drink and seemed to enjoy it right at the bar. Now the food. A wedge, fair for $16.95. But addeded a piece of tuna and now we have a lame $32 bowl of iceberg. Chicken parm and penne. Chicken was over an inch thick, not your typical chicken parm. But it was the sauce that ruined the dish. Since when is sauce so thick that it holds up the penne from touching the dish, almost like it was tomato pudding. Dont know what happened to this place, but it gout our last dollar!
