I was looking for a good and reputable salon to address color, cut and styling to refer a very good friend who was visiting from out of town. I came across this salon and read the reviews. I wanted to see the negative ones as well. So I saw a post by someone from a year ago that complained of a bad color experience so of course it caught my attention. But the more I read it, the more obvious it became that something didn't quite sit right. By the time I read it in its entirety, I was surprised that Yelp didn't catch the glaring inconsistencies and egregious claims. First, she stated she came in with black hair and wanted a color change to purple, but then said the stylist didn't really want to. Seems the expertise of a stylist would have good reason to pause. Then she says the stylists recommended a different color (brown) given there was admittedly gray hair along with her black hair, another red flag. Maybe its me, but maybe there would have been hair damage or loss to move through gray and black to purple? She wasn't happy, (and from the read of it I don't think she ever could have been) and yet after all that work, she wasn't charged, but an error occurred and the card was charged for a measly $85 bucks twice! Yet I never read to reached out to the salon and anyone refused to correct the error. First, where do they even charge that reasonable a fee for color. So being the underdog champ I am, I researched, read more reviews and visited there and spoke to a client coming out. It was a no brainer to make the referral for someone who "admittedly" was honest with the stylist to say she had a head full of mixed gray, wanted a color change, cut and style and relied on the expertise of the Stylist, Jacinta! Let's just say, Jacinta underpromised, but sure as hell "over performed." The outcome was superb and its one of the headshots on her social media page. All I have to say is read negative posts with a discerning eye and try to experience things for yourself. Franchon Parlour did a phenomenal job and now have a returning out of town client. I will start off by saying this, LOCKED IN for life! My first time visiting the salon was early spring. I was greeted upon arrival and get this! No wait, like ever. Peaceful salon atmosphere and VERY professional. The shampoo is life changing, if you think I'm playing then please try it for yourself in which I highly recommend. Ladies, healthy hair starts with clean scalp and hair. The silk press, for one! My hair is super thick and when I leave it's laid to perfection AND is still in tact when I return for my two week maintenance. Jacinta, has kept my hair healthy and growing and overall that's the goal! Also ladies, we live for a good self care day! The steam treatment that's included with your service is literally the cherry on top. I fall into a peaceful nap session each and every time. So this is my very first Yelp review as well as my very first time at Franchon Parlour. I was greeted upon my entrance into the salon by Jacinta, the stylist I had chosen for my first visit. I happened upon this salon during my quest to find someone local that could deliver the look & cut I wanted to try. She was very pleasant and immediately took me to the back. For me, time spent in the salon is EXTREMELY important. I'll break down my experience there by time. My appointment was scheduled for 12 pm on a Friday. By 12:07 I was washed and under the dryer... 12:27 her assistant (she was so very sweet & accommodating) was blow drying my hair. 12:40 I was in Jacinta's chair. 1:29 I was in my car on my way back home!! Franchon Parlour is hands down an excellent experience. I'm big on customer service, and as soon as I enter the salon, I receive a warm greeting by all of the stylists. It's the little things like that, that go a long way.
