Beautiful clothing and great quality. I just purchased 3 shirts and they did a great job of helping me customize my shirts so they don't just have the normal white buttons, but have some buttons that add some "pop" to my shirts. The shirts are expensive and you pay extra to have them properly fitted but that is to be expected. Don't go into the store if you aren't ready to pay the price. I just got a new job and a big pay raise so I decided to treat myself as the clothing is really beautiful and the shirts are quite unique. You aren't likely to see someone else wearing the same shirt, that is for sure. The only real negative is that Franco and his staff play to your ego a little too much. I went in a year ago with my daughter just to look around and he asked me what company I run. When i told him I didn't run a company, he said that I looked like a CEO. Then he told my daughter that she looked like a model. She is attractive, but there is no way she looks like a model. This time, I went in fully with an intention to buy some shirts, with my wife and my daughter. Franco again asked me what company I run and gave me the same line about "you look like a CEO." This is mildly irritating but I mostly find it humorous. I am not a sucker for this kind of flattery and it won't make me buy clothing. However,t I am a sucker for beautiful clothing that fits well. I am a thin guy and most shirts are a little to full for me. Franco's shirts fit extremely well and they of course will tailor them to fit even better and as I noted above, they are beautiful. Franco and his staff provide personalized assistance that's unmatched in the Bay area. Although people expect great customer service at a high end shop like Franco's...this store is on a level of its own. I bought the suit I wore for my wedding from Franco. His store is the place to go for something unique and custom made. I had a traditional Indian wedding, and Franco asked that my wife (fiance at the time) bring in her dress so that he could incorporate some of her look into mine. What he came up was impressive...he made a bowtie and matching lining for the suit, and tailored the shirt with buttons to match. He even offered to go with me to other stores to find shoes to match the outfit. Everyone complimented the classy look that Franco developed for me. For the wedding ceremony, my groomsmen and I had to wear some traditional Indian garb. Unfortunately I ordered these outfits from a tailor in India (before I met Franco), and there were some SERIOUS problems with the fit when delivered. I was stressing because I had no time to send them back to a tailor for the changes, so I brought the issue up to Franco to see if he knew someone in the industry who could help out on short notice. The response was classic... He told me to relax, and bring in the pieces that needed to be fixed. Less than a week before the event, he and his tailor fixed the outfits...and actually made them look better than originally designed. Franco and his staff went above and beyond our expectations to make sure my wife and I were happy with the looks. I purchased my first custom-made suit from these guys, and it was a dream come true. First of all, I was able to select whatever fabric I wanted, from hundreds of swatches and samples. I chose a beautiful, dark charcoal from Italy. Next, the fitting process was dialed in--David and Ike took dozens of measurements to make sure everything was just right. After that, they had my suit made and hand-sewn on a tight time line and prior to a trip with my fiancé out of state for our engagement. Lastly, the price: a flat rate, with no hidden BS or even a hint of upselling etc. Like I said, a dream come true and David and Ike are true masters. My go to place for suits. I went to almost every place that sells suits, Brooks Brothers, Jos A Bank, Men's Wearhouse etc. and wasn't able to find anything that fit me. Just out of curiosity I stopped in at Franco's. I was amazed that the first thing that I tried fit. A few tailored adjustments and it fits like a glove. Franco himself is a man with an impeccable sense of style. It is like the old days before everything was sold off a rack where the salesperson assists your personally in putting together an outfit. We chanced into Franco Uomo on a day trip to San Jose, and were completely blown away with their amazing selection of absolutely beautiful fabrics and design. This is the kind of place you see in the movies and you feel special just walking in the door. The help was so kind and took time to talk to me and my family explaining what they do and about their products. As I was looking at the wall of ties I told my wife that she could pick any of them and I would be happy with it. At Christmas I unwrapped a box and knew it was something special, it is an amazing blue and gold! And this past week she surprised me with another unique and beautiful tie for my birthday, I love it! But the heart of the review is about the interaction she had with David, when she called saying she wanted it shipped next day so I would receive it on my birthday, he said " no problem, we will take care of it", and they did, covering the additional shipping and including a handwritten note thanking her for our business, and a gift to encourage us to come back. I'm right at that point in life where it feels like all of my friends are getting married. All of the suits I've owned up until now were purchased for cheap on a college kid budget, and none of them fit well at all. Now that I have a steady source of income, I felt like it was time to get a *good* suit...something that I could wear to all of these weddings and feel good about myself in. With the first of this year's weddings happening at the end of June, I knew it was time to get rolling. So, I did what any modern consumer would do...I went on Yelp and made a list. I made Franco's shop the first stop of my suit-shopping afternoon, partly because it was close to home, partly because of the great reviews, and partly because it looked ultra-expensive. I didn't want to buy from the first place I went to, so I figured the price would keep me from impulse buying anything there before I had had a chance to visit any other shops. As I walked in the store, I was immediately greeted by Sophia, who got me started with a few ideas. Shortly after, Angelina walked in, and since I was the only customer in the store at the time, they both started discussing things and trying to find a style that they thought would work for me. I explained I wanted something that I could re-use for a number of occasions, and we settled on a classic black suit. It felt like it fit alright at first, then all of a sudden they were pinching it all over the place and styling it up, finding all the right spots to taper to take the basic suit jacket and turn it into something that was stylish and *me*. After a bunch of measurements and sorting through some colors for matching shirts and customizations, I had most of an outfit picked out, and they did a fantastic job of helping me see how it would look once all of the tailoring that they had in mind was done. Angelina did a great job of making sure the tailor understood *exactly* what she wanted for my look, and as I was standing in front of the mirror, I knew that I'd be buying that outfit from them on the spot. I deferred the tie, cufflinks, and belt until later, thinking I might be able to get them for cheaper somewhere else, without compromising the style. At one point, I mistakenly referred to them as "salespeople," and Angelina promptly corrected me and explained they prefer to see themselves as "style consultants." That is *exactly* what they do. They won't just sell you a suit, they'll work to find a style that works for you, with complementing accessories and everything. I visited their shop on a Sunday, and I was flying out on Wednesday for the wedding. I'm not even sure what I was thinking leaving the suit shopping until then, but when we discussed the scheduling, they were incredibly helpful and accommodating and made sure to get the alterations done on time without any hassle. I went back to the shop on Tuesday night to pick up the suit, and met Franco. I really enjoyed working with him to finish off the process with a few minor tweaks to the suit (done by the onsite tailor while I chatted with Franco). He made me some delicious tea, and showed me a belt, cufflinks, and bowtie that matched my style. I was still planning on grabbing those somewhere else before the wedding, but after trying them on and seeing how well they fit the style, he had me sold on those too. He'll talk your ear off if you let him (and if the shop isn't busy), and I really enjoyed the conversation. It's definitely a big plus to be given that level of attention and personal treatment by the owner of the shop. So, with all that great service, why am I giving them 4 stars instead of 5? When I visited on Sunday, Angelina helped me pick out a pocket square, and I bought that with the suit and shirt. When I visited on Tuesday, Franco showed me pocket squares again, and picked out one that he liked. I mentioned that I thought I had already bought one on Sunday, and asked if I could exchange the one that I had paid for for the new one, which I liked a bit better. He glanced at his computer, and told me that I hadn't bought a pocket square yet, so I bought the one that he had picked out. When I got home, I found the pocket square from Sunday tucked into the inside pocket of my suit. I only wanted to buy one pocket square, but bought two because of the misinformation. That's partly my fault for not double-checking the receipts before buying it, but at a store that prides themselves that much on attention to detail, that's an important detail that they should have gotten right by carefully double-checking their records. It's an honest mistake, but at those prices, mistakes are pretty expensive. I think I look awesome in it, and it feels so great to finally own a suit that I *like* to wear! At the wedding, I got so many compliments from all of my friends about how well it fit my personality and how great I looked, so I'd say the suit passed the most important test! Well done! read more

I've been going to Franco Uomo for a couple of years now when I really want to get something that will stand out, last and be a staple of my closet. My tailored shirts are my favorite of all the shirts i own and my bow-ties (only worn for special occasions and rarely tied) always make just the right statement. However, it was the tailored sport coat my wife just got me for my birthday that takes this review to 5-stars! The quality is impeccable, the fit perfect and I have gotten more compliments than any jacket I've ever owned, and I wear a lot of sport coats! My wife and I had spent most of our day in search of a suit for me to wear at our wedding. We had been to five other stores and most of which didn't want to give us the time of day. I had on slippers, stained sweat pants and t-shirt because I wanted clothing that was easy to take off. We decided to make one last stop at Franco Uomo and that ended up being one of the most important stops for our wedding. We walked in and were greeted by Ike who offered water and started to ask questions about what we needed, colors,etc. Ike started to put some samples together for us and during this process it was almost like he had a glow to him because of how passionate he is about creating the perfect look for you. After about an hour he had designed the perfect suit for our wedding. We were so impressed by this and confident in the entire staff at Franco Uomo we bought five more suits for the groomsmen and my wife allowed them do the alterations on her dress the bridesmaids dresses. David and Michael are also extremely nice and knowledgeable. I recommend everyone I know to go here. I have since been back and purchased a jacket, a couple of shirts, and several amazing bowties and these guys are always wonderful to work with. I ask the store clerk if I could RETURN it if it didn't fit. He said no problem. Well, it didn't fit and they didn't have another size. They only accept exchanges within 7 days. Franco Uomo is the best mens clothes store in Northern California. You will have to go to Beverly Hills to get clothes of the same quality. The store always has a warm masculine scent and you are almost always greeted by Franco himself. Franco designs all of the clothes himself. His clothes are custom made and not mass produced. I was working with a competitor of his near Santana Row, and was not getting the type of service I was expecting. After giving up hope on the other business I checked Santana Row, and found Franco's store. I immediately felt relieved after being with him for only several minutes. He ended up having exactly what I wanted in a suit, and the customer service was above and beyond what I was expecting. He worked with me on all aspects of my weeding outfit and it looked terrific.
