Stopped in for lunch with my co-worker and was greeted by Pete who was very friendly and engaging with us. We waited a few minutes for 2 slices and a few garlic knots. This slice was huge to me and it was very tasty. We had a bunch of oil on the bag and desk but guess that's expected with pizza. The place looked clean and staff were wearing mask. You either order ahead or come in and place your order but, it's not big enough to have a sit down lunch.

Where do I begin? Put simply, this pizza I ordered tonight was a life changing experience as far as the world of food in my eyes is concerned. I'll begin by stating that I've never had Franco's Pizza before. I'm somewhat new to Philly and it was getting late when I'd realized I'd yet to eat. I opened a pizza app on my phone and the place that was still open was Franco's. Off the bat the food looked great. The Upside Down Pie caught my eye. It just looked great and when I seen the choice of toppings I could choose from I became excited. Not every pizza joint offers artichokes as a topping, and usually when they do you're in for a good experience. Nervous that maybe they would use soaking wet artichokes and ruin the pie I went for half only. They didn't do that. It was perfect. The driver had no problem with finding the address. They got here in perfect amount of time and he was kind and courteous. I dropped a nice tip because I was so impressed and appreciative of the excellent service. Keep in mind, I hadn't even eaten the pie yet, so that just made it all that much better. I got comfortable in my living room, put on some it's always sunny and enjoyed the wave of warmth that I was met with when I opened the box. The pie seemed to still resonate with the ovens flames. The cheese lifted with the first slice like it was straight out of a commercial. The sauce is a force to be reckoned with. Popping with a zest only the spirits of a thousand Italian Nonna's could achieve, the way it accompanies the smooth texture of the mozzarella, made it feel as if the pepperoni and the artichoke were two lovers dancing on a carpet of mozzarella and the sauce was the music that filled the air and the audience with awe. I'll end this review with some final thoughts. The pie was filling after only 2 slices and that means I get to relive this pleasure through leftovers. Win. Lastly...I've never had the Yelp App before nor have I ever left a food review before in the entirety of my existence. It was this Pizza that moved me so to download this app and leave this review. If only all food were this incredible, I'd make a career out of this. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, thank you to the fine people who operate that establishment. I hope to come by in person one day and personally share my gratitude.

Would just give 5 stars for the garlic knots they give you on the side. Wow, the cheese and bread were delicious. We tried the stromboli, the chicken parmesan sandwich, and some wings. First, the stromboli was long, stacked with toppings inside, and came with a tasty marinara dipping sauce. The dough was flavored and textured well and the cheese instead was perfect with it. Lasted for a while and was satisfying. The chicken parm sandwich was relatively cheaper than others in the area, and the chicken was juicy, perfectly fried and breaded, and there was a perfect amount of cheese on top to make it just like I wanted. The bread was a good texture too which was just an addition to a great meal. The wings were pretty equivalent in size (on the larger end), had a good sauce, and the bleu cheese they give is nice and creamy, not too chunky. Would and will order from here again, as the prices and quality is just right.

Food- Very very good! Pasta, pizza, and shrimp were all impressive. Very large portions, we were stuffed afterwards! The only negative is they didnt take the skin tails off any of the shrimp.. so it became a sloppy buffalo/alfredo mess. Service- We ordered Uber eats and the wait time and service when we picked up were great. Atmosphere- I didn't go inside so cant speak to this but it looked super duper small local spot.

On a recent trip to the Philadelphia area, I visited Angelo's Pizzeria. My fiance is a big fan of…read morethe pizza, and wanted to first try it after hearing Dave Portnoy's rave review from One Bite. Since his first time trying it, we make it a point to stop anytime we are passing through the area. Angelo's is a very popular pizza restaurant located in South Philly, near the corner of South 9th and Fitzwater, and also the Palumbo Playground/Rec Center. For those who are tourists, it is also not far from where Pat's and Geno's are both located. Parking here can be challenging, as it is in the middle of South Philly. Sometimes, I have had to circle around. Other times, I have gotten lucky with a street spot somewhat close by. There is a now closed Rite Aid about a block down, and I have parked in that lot before to go and order/pick up my food. If you have someone with you, it might be easier to drop someone off and circle around until they are done. It will depend on the day and time, but each time I have visited parking has been a little bit of a struggle. The signage, as well as the crowd outside, will let you know exactly where the shop is. It is clearly marked with a black awning. The Pizzeria is a quaint shop, and there is no seating. When you enter, you walk right up to the counter to either order or pick up your food. I visited here on a Saturday in September, when I was in the area for a football game. On this day, I was coming in from Chester. So, I was about 30 minutes away. I thought I would attempt to call ahead, and then hopefully my food would be ready around my arrival. Unfortunately, this did not work out. I am not sure if they just do not answer the phone, or if they will stop answering once they hit a certain threshold of orders. However, I tried calling a plethora of times on my way to the store, but no one ever answered the phone. I understand this and am not necessarily complaining, but I wanted to include this here in case someone else is trying to call in an order and cannot get through. I arrived at the store just before 4:00 PM. I went right in and placed my order with one of the employees. Once you place the order, they take your name and phone number. You will get a text message when the order is done, and they provide an estimated wait time at the counter. This is nice, as you know exactly when to head back and when your order is ready. My order only took about 20 minutes to be prepared. When the order is ready, you come back into the store and get in the line on the right side. They will ask for your name, and you pay at that time. I also visited here last month, on a Sunday evening around 6:00 PM. I had a similar experience with wait time for my pizza on this trip as well - about 20 minutes until it was ready from when we placed the order. After getting the pizza, I decided I wanted to try a Cheesesteak. So, I placed my order for the sandwich and only waited about 15 minutes for it to be ready. We have always enjoyed the food from here. The pizza is hot, fresh, and has just the right amount of crispiness. We have gotten the Pepperoni and Sausage each time, and it does not disappoint. The pizza also reheats well, as we typically eat some and then take the rest home to enjoy over the next few days. The Cheesesteak was amazing. It is definitely better than any of the other tourist-type locations in the area. The bread was toasted well, and the mixture of the meat and cheese just tastes divine. I also added onions to mine, which was a nice variety in terms of texture. I will definitely be ordering this, along with my pizza, on all of my return visits. This place is good quality, and for that reason it is a good value. Our pizza is usually in the $35 range, but as stated it is well-prepared and has a nice amount of toppings. The Cheesesteak was slightly less than $20, which is comparable to other spots in the area. However, the quality on this one is through the roof. So, though it is a little pricey here overall, it is worth it for the product. The staff here are very friendly, quick, and efficient. Though they deal with these large crowds seemingly everyday, they are always pleasant to interact with. My waits for food are always less than they say, and I appreciate their hard work! I would love to see some type of online or phone ordering system for this location, as I know it exists for their other spot about 10 minutes away. As an FYI, they used to be cash-only, but started taking cards sometime in the past few months. This is a must-try spot in South Philly, both for locals and visitors. It is so popular that they are opening another location, as of May 2026. The food is worth the wait, and the sometimes hassle, that comes with ordering here. You can even make some friends while you wait for your order. I highly recommend Angelo's to anyone thinking about giving it a try! I am already looking forward to my next trip here and trying more of their menu.

Being that I'm not from the east coast, and these are known as Philly cheesesteaks, I was super excited to try the food and even more so when I saw that the restaurant was Michelin rated. 100% I would rather have hunger pains than eat another meal here. The meat was bland and mushy. The fried onions were undercarmelized. The peppers were non existent. The sesame bread was tougher than I expected and super heavy on the sesame... which could've been ok, but because of the blandness of the protein... really dominated the taste profile of the hoagie. I feel like west coast people just have different expectations when it comes to what we expect from our food. I am a foodie and we have such a high standard as a baseline and this was not it. Sorry Philly... we got better cheesesteaks out here. You all should come visit.

While I might choose another place for takeout, when the goal is a night of pizza, wine, great atmosphere, and authentic neighborhood vibes, this is usually where we end up. The space is bright, industrial, airy, and thoughtfully designed but unforced. White walls, warm wood, considered lighting, and a floor plan with real breathing room. The vibe recalls Bucktown, Wicker Park, Williamsburg, and Greenpoint: design-forward but genuinely local. There's a great bar, and booths near the kitchen with glass windows that let you watch the staff. Our three-year-old was mesmerized, and the staff was warm and playful, smiling and waving while they cooked. A small detail, but memorable. The crowd feels local. Good music, friendly people, hip but never pretentious. It's just a fun place to be with great service, too. The food is outstanding. We usually order the chicories caesar with grana padano and breadcrumbs, and the lettuce salad with shaved vegetables and creamy oregano dressing. For pizza, we love the arrabbiata (the Angry pie) and tomato pie with sausage and pickled chilies. My wife enjoys the ice cream. A note on bringing kids: I don't think this is a family restaurant, but if your kids are curious and well-behaved, it's absolutely worth bringing them earlier in the evening. We've gone around 4:30 or 5:00 on weekends and always felt comfortable. One time, our daughter had a full meltdown, and we were mortified, but the staff couldn't have been cooler. They packed everything to go, kindly and without any judgment. That kind of grace is hard to fake, and it genuinely stuck with us. Pricing is fair for the quality of the food and the experience. Places like this can seem overrated or overpriced, but this one doesn't. It offers real value for a memorable night out. The whole restaurant feels like a microcosm of Philadelphia's progressive, creative side. There's real ambition behind it, but it still feels human and grounded, nothing sterile, nothing corporate, nothing over-engineered. Just smart people building a cool neighborhood place that others actually want to spend time in. Oh, and make a reservation. Great spot, Joe. We'll be back soon. Thank you!

I love that the menu is on the shorter side and they rotate the pizza offerings, so even if you're visiting on a regular basis, you'll always be able to try something new. Additionally, when a menu is only about 2 pages, you know everything on those two pages is top notch, as was the case at Pizzeria Beddia. This evening we got the meatballs (didn't take a photo, was too excited, but they were HUGE and excellent) and the beef, pork and veal balls with a rich red sauce was outstanding. Came in an order of 2 but one was plenty for each of us. The Pizza we got had potatoes on it, and we added sausage per the servers recommendation, and it was cooked perfectly and all of the flavors blended so well together. We are so lucky to have an amazing (and nationally recognized!) pizza spot in the neighborhood and it's always nice when you can walk in without a reservation from time to time.

The polite smile that says "it's fine" while the eyes say "it is absolutely not." Totally understandable. No one loves a near-close order. I even acknowledged it out loud--apologized, explained we weren't from the area, and that we were just trying to grab a quick bite because it was one of the few places still open. She said it was okay. Her face said otherwise. Fair enough. Here's where it turned around. The pizza came out hot, fresh, and legitimately impressive. Not "good for late night" good--just plain good. Every bite was fresh, the ingredients tasted clean, and the pizza clearly hadn't been rushed or phoned in despite the timing. Hunger probably helped, but even factoring that out, this was a standout. Honestly, I was kicking myself for not ordering an extra one to go before leaving the city. That's how good it was. We did try to get drinks, but were told the soda machine was down. The nozzles were off, so I'm guessing it was a cleaning/end-of-night thing. I won't ding them for it--though let's be real, tossing nozzles in sanitizer isn't exactly a marathon. Still, not a deal-breaker. Restaurant was clean, but of course, they were near closing. I tipped her a few bucks for staying late, and left genuinely satisfied. What a cute little restaurant. We came here for lunch and were promptly seated. Service was nice…read moreand courteous. They have an open kitchen so you can see pizzas being made in front of you. A little pricey but the sourdough pizzas are delicious. Loved the dough. They have a nice salad menu as well. We tried the butternut squash salad and it was pretty good. Definitely recommend.
