The standing sign outside was all that I needed to see to know what I was buying... The Gobbler Panzarotti. Because of the orders ahead of me, it took roughly 20-25 minutes to make. Considering that everything there is freshly made to order, 20 minutes is a pretty fast time. What was really impressive is there wasn't a take it as it comes, only one way choice... You could have gravy on the inside, on the side in a cup, or both. The same for the cranberry sauce... This was another item that took me two sittings to eat. But it was extremely good, and a nice change from the norm of having a pizza based panzarotti. I wish they made this year-round. But this is a seasonal item. The ladies at this establishment were very nice but not helpful. I told the cashier this was my first time here. It appeared it was no big deal to her. I was expecting her to give me some recommendations but basically she was just waiting on me to see what I wanted. So I did order these things called panzarotti. Basically it makes me think of a calzone or stromboli. It was crust with meat inside. Lots of cheese and other items that you might desire. The crust has a certain amount of sweetness to it. Not sure if they sprinkle sugar on top but it looked like some sugar crystals when I was eating it. I did try 2different panzarotti's and both of them were disappointing. They were disappointing because I felt it was lacking "flavor" I also felt like it could have had more meat inside. It was very hollow. Not sure if that is what it is supposed to be but I could have been stuffed more. The Franco felt like something was missing. I ended up adding some parmesan & romano cheese to it but I still felt something was missing. The everything panzarotti was a little better. I did not have to add anything but it could have used some more meat inside. The inside of the restaurant was clean. All the tables were clean no trash around. Even though I did not eat there I could have and would have been comfortable. A nice touch that I did notice was one other cashiers gave out this paper with reheating/freezing instructions.That was good because I was not going to eat them until later. I have been a Franco's customer for 40 years... I have followed them thru the various locations changes which I believe this is their 3rd location. My last couple visits were outstanding.... Employee was very upbeat and polite on the phone, she was just as nice when I went to pickup my order. I am a panzarotti fanatic and they were outstanding! Fresh ingredients, lots of meat inside and crispy crust and the oil fried in was fresh and had no nasty taste from frying other foods in same oil! This is how they tasted 40 years ago... So if you haven't been there in a while, go back and try again... guaranteed to be delicious! Franco's is recommended by the Tarantini Panzarotti website, so when we were in the neighborhood we called in our order. As others have said, the price is right. $4.68 for a Panzarotti that filled me for the entire day. Husband got one with pepperoni, which meant there was an entire packet of pepperoni shoved inside. He loved it. It was nothing like the "panzarotti" another pizzeria sold us. (Look for the bubbles! And it should be square.) We ordered for lunch, a panzarotti each. We didn't need to eat again for the rest of the day. I'm not sure I loved it as much as I did as a child, but it was a cheesy, gooey, comforting treat. This review is specific to the Panzarottis . After all, this place serves the Original Tarantini Panzarotti and that is an important distinction to keep in mind when you have a craving for one of these deep fried dough pockets of goodness. Yes the baked imitation Panzarottis at other places may be healthier for you, but they lack the taste of the original, and whats more important then great taste in a meal. Just don't eat them for breakfast lunch and dinner as a regular diet. I have enjoyed the Original Tarantini Panzarotti for years now, so when Franco's place moved even closer to my house, it made it that much easier to run out on a Snowy winter night to feed my Panzarotti craving. Francos Panzarottis are consistent in taste and are stuffed with generous portions of mozzarella cheese and homemade sauce then deep-fried to a crisp, golden brown. I ordered the steak Panzarotti and my wife ordered the chicken for take out. While both were delicious, I have to say the steak it is still my number one go-to when getting a Panzarotti. We ordered a side of extra sauce to go with both. This was the only disappointment, tasted mostly like sugared tomato paste and nothing like a classic Italian tomato gravy. Only suggestion for Franco would be to change up his tomato gravy to improve the fantastic Panzarottis he serves up. I gave 4 stars for the Panzarotti w/o the side sauce. First things first the wait time at this place is terrible I ordered one pepperoni panzarotti and it took 33 minutes and there wasn't a lot of people there at all. The dough is nicely fried, but is too greasy for my preferences. The panzarotti is large, but be careful biting right into it since all the steam will just burst out. You need to be extra cautious when eating this if extremely hungry in the moment - you will get burnt! Not to mention, they are one of the few places that offer great curly fries in a post-"Roy Rogers everywhere" society. I went back and forth with giving them 3 or 4 stars. My parents and I got a large cheese pizza. Came home and opened up the box and The entire pizza is burnt and bubbled. Clear someone thought it was okay to put it in the box instead of saying they messed up. So 20 minutes there and back and we couldn't even eat it. Franco's has the BEST Panzarottis. I love them, I would eat them every night if I had a faster metabolism. And they're only $3.55 a piece- can't beat that. Last night I called and ordered 9 panzarottis- they told me I could pick them up in 20 minutes. I was late to pick them up and was worried they might get cold- they weren't- instead steaming hot. I never heard of such a thing but was excited to have one as well, especially after a night of bar hopping and drinking. So, to describe a panzarotti-- think a deep fried calzone. It was amazing! I've been going to Franco's for years with great food and service, but lately their service is the horrible. This month is the worst 1st Monday picked up my panzarottis they were cold and empty shells. 2nd Monday called told they were out of panzarottis, hang up on called back and placed an order for panzarottis. Got home hardly anything inside them. 3rd Monday this Month called and told their not doing special panzarottis only plain. Now I order the same thing every week and now they only do plain on Monday's. 4th Monday today ordered a head like I have for years, Now I'm told I have to go wait in line with the people who are waiting to order because they're not doing it where you can just pick up your orders that you called ahead any more. The line waiting to get into place their orders was all the way down the street. I can't stand for long periods hence the call ahead. I asked to speak to a manager a guy named Don came to the counter. who said that this is how their doing with one line if I wanted the panzarottis I'd get in line. I asked about people like me who can't stand, he said it doesn't matter who it is there only one line. They could have done two lines one to place and one for call a head but don't and they talk to people no respect.
