Chino cabinet co. were less than half the price of what those guys wanted to charge us in Anaheim. (Keep in mind the cabinets from Anaheim were prefabbed from overseas and chino cabinet co cabinets are custom built.) We ended up ordering the built-ins from chino cabinet co. and the quality is amazing. Beautiful work and finish. Would recommend over anywhere else. No complaints. I would whole heartedly recommend this business and it's owner, Frank. There were a couple of small glitches, as there always is in home remodeling, but Frank was more then willing to fix things as soon as we discussed them. He does a clean, professional and creative job! I need to add that Frank doesn't just do tile well. BUYER BEWARE - AVOID AND BE WARY!!! DISREPUTABLE BUSINESS OWNER!!!…read more I hired Carmen Ironworks to add pickets to an existing railing at a small apartment complex. We negotiated a price and he requested a 40% deposit which I felt was too high. We agreed in writing to a 20% deposit which he received at contract signing. I did verbally agree to make a progress payment of the additional 20% once I felt that 20%+ of the installation was completed and the full balance would be due at completion. On his 1st day on site I received a call that he was at the apartments to start. I don't live there but I called a trusted tenant to let him into the gated community. I arrived within 2 hours to review his work. He immediately told me that he was finishing up for the day. I reviewed his work progress and was satisfied with the work completed. He had installed less than 5% of the pickets and less than 20% of the pickets on site. He requested the additional 20% payment. I told him that I wanted to see more of the pickets installed prior to making an additional payment. The guy literally lost his mind! He started yelling, cursing and calling me dishonorable. He was in the apartment courtyard of a small community and he was so loud it was causing residents to come to their windows as well as into the courtyard due to the commotion. Despite my pleas, the man wouldn't calm down. I was able to coax him to the parking area. He said he wasn't going to do the job and that I could have the rest of the pickets. He then tried to leave, with the pickets in his truck, but couldn't leave because a remote was needed to open the gate. I then proceeded to empty the pickets from his truck into mine. He 'helped' by grabbing a bunch and tossing onto the driveway. All through this his adult son (who apparently doesn't weld, not sure why he was even there) was cursing and accusing me of illegally detaining them from leaving. Once all the remaining pickets were off the truck, I opened the gate and they sped off. The entire encounter was completely unhinged and my 20% deposit is now gone with only a few pickets installed leaving me with a bigger problem.
