I bought a pre-owned car 2 and a half months ago, when i looked at the engine i noticed corrosion on the battery. I asked them to check and change the battery. They said the battery was fine and that they got rid of the corrosion. Now 2 months later my battery is shot and the alternator is bad. So now they say i owe 837 dollars for an alternator and a new battery . When they said they checked it. And they wont make it right. when talking to the car salesmen who sold us the vehicle he tried nothing to make right the error. And he didn't care about a customer who was having problems. When I first talked with Chris, I said here we go again with the same BS all the other dealerships told me. I explained I don't want to hear all that, I just want the best price and service. I went to Ofallon MO location to test drive a vehicle. I got pre-approved online the night before and had a test drive scheduled for the truck I wanted. They told me I couldn't test drive it and it wasn't available because it had not been maintenanced yet. Why run my credit for the truck? Why have me drive 45 minutes to blow me off? We left with them ignoring us pretending like they were going to help. Bought a better truck from a different location. I wouldn't return here again. read more

I have never dealt with a more unprofessional sales manager, Daniel. I called about 5 times within a week's span trying to buy a CRV EX AWD. Since it was a holiday weekend, I was not in town and was willing to sign documents via internet or overnight mail. I was connected with Daniel to make this happen but he continuously pushed me off to the next day. On Saturday, August 31st he told me to fill out the financing application and he would call me on Monday due to the amount of people in the store. At that point, they had multiple CRV EXs on the lot that would have fit what I wanted. I told him that was fine and was looking forward to closing the deal on Monday. He never called me on Monday even after I called, asked to speak with him, and left a message for him to call me. I waited on Tuesday till 2:30pm for him to call me and when he didn't, I called him. He then told me that 1) he didn't have any EXs to sell me, 2) he couldn't send me the paperwork in the discount period (and why I tried to talk with him earlier, knowing this would be a problem). After asking him why he pushed me off since the deal wouldn't be possible, he had no answers and HUNG UP ON ME. This is the worst service, I have ever had. All I can chalk this up to is either poor service or not being taken seriously due to my age. I will be writing a review so all future customers will be able to understand my experience before coming into the dealership. I wouldn't want anyone to be treated the same way I was especially by a General Manager. read more

I used the online chat and spoke with David at Frank Leta. I asked if they would match the price of a local competitor, Ed Napleton for a 2017 CR-V. I gave them the link to the website with the competitor price and was told they would beat it by 500.0 and would call me with details. About an hour or so later David calls me and tells me the same thing on how they would beat the price by 500.00. He told me the first thing I need to do is go to Ed Napleton and get a receipt with the price of the car. Not sure how you get a receipt for a car if you don't buy it, but whatever. He explained how they lie on the website and will have a bunch of dealer installed accessories already installed and charge me more for the car when I show up. He even told me they do the same thing, but are more upfront with the dealer installed accessories. I explained that I already spoke to them and confirmed the price. He told me they always do that and I would not get it for that price. Well guess what? I drove to Ed Napleton, bought a new CR-V from them and could not be happier. I paid the same price that was shown on the web site. If you don't want to match the price of your competitors, just say that. Don't make up lies about them to try to sell your car. If you're going to lie about that, I could only image what they would lie about. read more

A bunch of swindlers..... bought a used vehicle which was ok for the price, but was scammed with paperwork and double-talk about exactly what those contracts involved. Had brain surgery with memory problems and they did nothing from start all the way to bringing the van back for multiple repairs, they never totally finished the repairs, instead they try to run you through ringers until you're sick of dealing with them. Ended up owing a few thousand more than the van was originally priced at from vehicle contract policies, a typical scam. Again, taking advantage of people on disability to get every buck you can off of them is downright immoral and hurtful. Also, like I said, had to bring it back to have issues taken care of right away with one of those time having the mechanic get in my face and ask me if I was stupid because i wouldn't just accept his 'quick fix,' Not very honest people there, just sales. read more

I am honestly shocked by the good reviews here. We have purchased 2 used vehicles from Frank Leta now. Whyohwhyohwhy. The first thing about these experiences that you should know is that the words "f*ck you, Frank Leta" has, as a result, turned into a common phrase spoken in this house. One example that oh just pops in my head happened just this afternoon. Vehicle #2, purchased just a few months ago received an oil change today. Upon inspection of the vehicle, the mechanic informed me that the tires were almost dangerously bald (please note, this also happened with vehicle #1 very soon after the purchase). Another time that those words grace my then pursed lips is just basically every single darn time I am driving over 60 mph in vehicle #1 and it makes that high pitched and constant whistling noise from a crappily installed windshield job that good ol Leta refused to fix post purchase. Those are just a few examples of what has basically just been a multitude of unpleasant encounters and experiences. Today, my husband said, "next car we buy, if I even so much as mention the words 'Frank Leta,' kick me straight in the balls. Seriously." read more

I have been taking my cars to Frank Leta Honda in O'Fallon, MO for many years. We have taken Honda's as well as Acura's and I have generally been pleased with the service. This last time, however, was a different story. My daughters car, a 2007 Honda accord, was due for an oil change. The car had been to Frank Leta back in April of 2019 for the same and when they did the multipoint inspection, ALL boxes were checked green. This time, 5500 miles later, we were told that her rear brakes were metal on metal and not only did she need new brake pads, she also had damage to the rear rotors. I called the service gentleman and asked how brake pads could wear that quickly. He agreed that this wouldn't have happened that quickly and agreed that obviously, the last service tech either did not really check the pads or didn't know what he was doing. I argued that I shouldn't have to pay for the rotors since it was obvious (I keep all paperwork) that the brakes were not properly inspected last time. I was offered $100 off. $100 off a $1300 bill for something that, in my opinion, should have never happened had the brake pads been properly inspected and probably replaced in April of this year. The gentleman went back to his manager and the best they could do was offer after market parts which reduced the bill to under $1000. So lesson learned, DON'T ALWAYS TRUST THE MULTIPOINT INSPECTION! This automobile will not be going back to Frank Leta for service in the future and I have lost all trust with this dealership. When it is time to purchase a new Honda, we will be going elsewhere. read more

My husband and I had a horrible experience with this dealership. They turned what should have been an easy cash sale into a four hour ordeal. We had agreed on one price for the vehicle and then I feel that they took advantage of the fact that my baby daughter was getting fussy and increased the price to the list price on the vehicle, which was not the price that we agreed on. It was out fault for not checking, but their fault for their unfair business practices. They "keyed" the mileage in wrong from the vehicle that I traded in. I'm not familiar with the law on this, but seems deceptive as well! They also did not provide us with a second copy of the key for the vehicle. I sent an email informing them of the issue and received a response from what looked like someone's personal hotmail.com account. I found it hard to believe that a "huge" dealership would use hotmail to respond to customers. It seemed all and all very unethical. I called today to request the copy of the key. I was treated very rudely by both the receptionist (Diana) and someone who identified himself as a manager (Marcos). I was told that Marcos would call me back. She also questioned why I would have such an issue with someone sending an email from a hotmail account. I attempted to explain that it seemed strange to receive an email from another source when you sent it to a large dealership. This resulted in more rude comments. When I did not receive a return call from the dealership almost 5 hours later, I called back. I was treated very rudely and told that they lost the key and were looking for it. A car dealership that looses a key? Seems like a very unorganized place! I was also told that it was very expensive to create a copy and that they did not want to do so. I was asked rudely if I had ever lost a key before. Marcos called me back and was very rude on the phone to me. He kept stating that the dealership had been in business for over 50 years and was going to be in business for another 50 years. I don't know how them losing the key to the vehicle was related to how long the dealership was in business? All and all a really poor experience. Hopefully, this keeps someone else from making the same mistake my husband and I did. I know car dealerships are not the most ethical places, but this place is the worst dealership that I've ever been to and I will not recommend or utilize them again. read more

Let me just say, my wife and I moved to Missouri from California, where she worked for American Honda. We were recommended to a particular sales person at Frank Leta. We expected great service, especially since the sales person knew we were sent by their corporate office. Everything this guy said was a lie. We were talked into a lease and told we wouldn't be penalized for mileage overages if we traded the car in to Honda again -- WRONG! It was a complete lie. The sales person left to work at another dealership then came back. So we go back into the dealership to figure out what we can do to salvage our finances after this lying piece of garbage misrepresented the terms of our lease. Turns out, we can either trade the car in now for a $500 payment (over $200 more a month for a new car), or we can pay the penalization fees at the end of the lease or buy it. This was never presented to us as a possibility -- as a matter of fact, this was never even a discussion after explicitly asking our sales person about this. Needless to say, Frank Leta Honda is standing behind their lying sales person -- this is the kind of business Frank Leta Honda runs. They run a business of lies and customer manipulation. The sales person, David Walsh, is awful to do business with and I would recommend running the other way if this guys tries to sell you a car -- as a matter of fact, I would run the other way if you want to buy a Honda a are considering going to Frank Leta Honda. I bought 3 Hondas from Frank Leta Honda, going back to 1999 when they were still on St. Charles Rock Road in Bridgeton. It's a long drive now from where we live, in Bridgeton, to O'Fallon. There are closer Honda dealers to us. Now this may seem silly, but one of the reasons I liked Frank Leta Honda were the "goodies" in the customer waiting area. They originally had a popcorn machine, a cooler with soda and bottled water, and best of all, fresh doughnuts for the customers, and coffee - all complimentary. Two weeks ago I was there and the fresh doughnuts have become packaged muffins and cookies. Today, not even those were offered. One of the reasons I continued to return to Frank Leta Honda was the nice customer waiting area and the freebies. I set up my laptop at one of the desks, get on to their guest wi-fi, get myself a cup of coffee and... well today, it was nothing, and I had skipped eating at home anticipating having a small snack while I waited for my car. What a disappointment. Since I am 22 miles from Frank Leta, I guess from now on I'll try another Honda dealer for service. I know, it sounds ridiculous to make a decision based on free doughnuts, but honestly that is what gave me the motivation to drive that far. read more

I turned my car in a month before my lease was up because they said they wanted the car only to find out they expect me to pay the last payment next month on a car that is no longer in my possession. Every time I talk to someone there they tell me something different. Being a woman and dealing with these guys is demeaning and ridiculous. I purchased a vehicle back in December 2011, and dealt with a salesmen who was less than desired. From stating he was ready to go home instead of negotiating a price of the vehicle, to wanting a gift card for his exceptional service and letting me know that I would be apologizing for the amount of commission he was making off of this deal, I found him to be less than entertaining. The salesman did not ask the finance manager to roll my sales tax into the loan as I had asked him to do. Instead he promptly told me that it could not be done. The finance manager stated he had not been asked by the salesman. The paperwork on my car was finalized at the end of December, but was held up due to my not turning in the title on my trade. The dealership failed to contact me after repeated emails and phone calls to find out what the problem was. I received a ssurvey from the dealership, and was honest. Due to my honesty, the salesman and the sales manager did not find the need to contact me at all in regards to my paperwork. Upon going into the dealership with my car, I was treated like common trash by the salesman who confronted me about my survey, and the sales manager who wanted to know "what my problem was now?" I left the dealership and was called BACK to come get my paperwork. The sales manager kept repeating water under the bridge, no grudges? I shook his hand and left. At the DMV, the title was not fully signed, and the sales tax had been figured incorrectly. I paid the overage. Give me a break. Upon speaking with my co-workers, I have since found out they have had the same problems AND would never go back. The general manager of the dealership has NOT responded to my emails, therefore I am turning my letter over to the customer relations department for Honda. My advice: steer clear if you are looking to be treated with professionalism and kindness. They are looking to make a quick buck, and that's it. read more

We went to the car show to look at lots of cars all in one day. We were very impressed with the Honda Fit. I loved this car three years ago but my husband thought it was too small. In 2015 Honda completely redid the Fit making it larger and loading it with lots of electronic devices to make it easier and safer to drive. Ryan Groeller helped us look with no pressure but lots of answers to questions we asked. We went later that week and met Ryan at the Leta dealership, which is a beautiful and very customer friendly facility. (It even comes with the nicest receptionist in town). Ryan helped us in so many ways to make buying our a Fit be a "GREAT FIT" for us. An example of his superior service was the fact that I thought I should buy the top model for a very pricey extra $1,000 dollar price tag to get the navigation system. Ryan showed me how I could get the navigation system using my I-phone and a Honda app that he showed me how to order. My husband and I are older and love when any one can help us navigate thru all this new technology. Ryan can and whats better will help you with this in a most patient and helpful manner. Another employee named Josh was very helpful also. He worked hard to see that we got the best price that Frank Leta could offer. My experience was specifically with the service department. This is one of several times that I have taken my Honda there for an oil change & was told that I needed hundreds of dollars of repairs. I was specifically told that I needed R/F brake & a caliper, which would cost $650+. I took my car to a mechanic who states that the brakes could use replaced, but I definitely didn't need a caliper & also didn't need rotars, so my final cost for the repair is $160. I was also told I needed a couple of flushes, which also cost 50% less at another Honda dealer. I would NOT recommend taking your car to this honda dealer for repair, & if you do make sure you have checked prices! read more

This has to be the worst Honda dealership in town. I had a conversation with the sales person couple of times and we discussed about what I wanted and if those cars would be available to buy. The sales person gave me an impression that they have plenty of cars in their lot and the price we discussed and agreed upon would be the final price. They set up an appointment for me to visit them so that we could proceed with the purchase. When I arrived at their lot we were greeted with hostility and looked upon as if who these people are. I felt like my skin tone and my dress up gave them the impression that I cannot afford to buy their cars. To my dismay the cars that I was supposed to buy was not even in their lot, they didn't have any colors that I wanted and the sales person was unapologetic and discourteous. I had called them a day before to make sure that the cars would be available--their answer- we have everything ready to go. The salesman justified the deceit by saying they were sold out of all their cars that morning--why even lies and make me drive 45 minutes to their dealership. The salesperson was a tool- he kept saying he has 27 years experience selling cars--but I guess in 27 years of his experience no one taught him the value of customer service and how you treat your customer. Do not buy at this dealership--in future they might give you problem with your warranties, who know. Their attitude was-- take what we have or get the hell out of our house--nice way to go HONDA, I was a loyal customer of this brand for a long time now I will never ever purchase this brand ever. read more

Over all we were very happy with Frank Leta Honda. Jason Hawkins was our sales person. He was very courteous and helpful. I would highly recommend Jason for a sales person. And although we haven't used the service department yet things seemed to run smoothly there and was clean and comfortable. On the other hand we were not pleased with our finance person. He was very pushy and had us sooo confused. He would answer a question with a question. We were almost ready to walk out and just keep the car we had. He finally got the payment close to where we want it.Although it had to be for 6 months longer then we wanted. But I have no idea what kind of warranty he sold us. The next day when I took the time to look over the paperwork there was an extra charge of $1990 on the paperwork. We bought some time of warranty but like I said before have no idea what he sold us.
