First time at Frankie Bones Bluffton. Great Service but....we ordered the early dining specials which included a soup or salad and entrée. My husband and I both got the Caesar salad...very mediocre. The bread and "herb butter" were not impressive at all. We thought the "herb butter" may have had Old Bay seasoning in it? Not much flavor and the bread was dry. The entrees came and my husbands prime rib arrived with a grapefruit sized piece of pure fat attached to the meat! The slice of prime rib was about 1/2 of what would be on the main menu. The slab of fat was gross. Who is in charge in the kitchen??? The twice baked" potato was a mound of seasoned mashed potatoes. The seafood spaghetti that I ordered was ok...but nowhere near a $20 meal! We were very excited to try a new restaurant, but sadly, we most likely, won't return. If we have this experience again, we would certainly return the prime rib and the gross fat with it! Again, we will not return. read more

While my husband and I typically love Frankie Bones, the service we received tonight was so disappointing. We ordered a take out meal of meatballs and salads, after being told it would be 30-40 minutes for our food we had to call and ask about the status of our order as our food was not brought out to us (curbside) and being put on hold for another 7 minutes for the host to tell us she would be right out. When they brought the food out to us it was missing items and the salads looked and tasted as though they sat for a length of time. It was a disappointment as we typically are a favorite of Frankie Bones, but won't be returning any time soon. read more

We live on Hilton Head Island and have been to Frankie Bones many times. We decided to try the new Frankie bones in bluffton. I had the ribeye steak and my wife had the lobster with Mac and cheese. My stake had a lot of gristle throughout. It was one of the worst cuts of meat I've ever had. I was not impressed with the sports bar atmosphere of the restaurant. We had takeout last night from Frankie Bones. The restaurant always looks so inviting when we drive by, we decided to give it a try. We ordered online: the fried green tomatoes appetizer; one cannelloni; and the prosciutto-fig flat bread. I won't bore you with the details but we were very disappointed by the portion size and the flavors of some of the ingredients. The cannelloni was good. I go to lunch several times a week at Frankie Bones Bluffton location. We sit at the bar. Kerrii W. is our bartender ... she is the best ! Great service. Greets you with a warm welcome, and makes sure we are taken care of while we are there. Frankie Bones' food is always good no matter what you order,and comes out of the kitchen quick and perfect everytime. We love going to Frankie Bones. You won't be disappointed! read more

We were at the restaurant to honor a friend's anniversary (special occasion); we had made a reservation several days prior and were altogether a table of 10. My complaints: --The calimari was mostly fried crumbs (my husband I had trouble finding the calimari itself among the breading). --I love cannelloni--this was the worst I'd ever had: no taste--swimming in sauces that provided some enjoyment. There was nothing complimentary about the cannelloni itself. --Five of our dinners came out first. We politely waited at least five minutes for the second group of dishes to be served before we felt we could start eating. EXTREMELY poor management. The first collection of dishes should have been set aside under a warmer until all ten could be delivered. --Our guest of honor ordered a steak. A steak knife was not delivered with his dish--he had to ask, then wait for it. Again, that seemed to me to be something taught in Culinary School 101. Guess not. --I love creme brûlée but cannot have anything with caffeine in the evening (sleep issues). I was so disappointed when the waitress described the creme brûlée had a chocolate base. Kudos: --My husband shared a bit of his meatballs with me--REALLY good! One of our favorite places to eat until 9/25/2020. Will not be going back for awhile. Under cooked Italian Sausage, over cooked Veal Pectate, Caesar Salad dressing was watery and had no taste. Rated this place excellent when it first opened, don't know what happened but after tonight's take out we will never be back. Curb side service was non existent. I don't know why I left a tip. If you're looking for COVID-19 we assure you, Frankie's got it. It was shocking to see how packed this restaurant was last Saturday, August 22nd! Saturday Night Fever on every level. It was so crowded, that they ran out of specials by 7pm. Shouldn't there be limited seating indoors in SC? There is no social distancing enforced at this location whatsoever. Customers entering without masks. People at the bar were elbow to elbow, each and EVERY table was occupied and a very long line of people standing by the door waiting to be seated. It was very scary to see that the management would allow this during pandemic. Having a ginormous bottle of hand sanitizer at the hostess' station will not do it, sorry. read more

This is a great addition to this side of Bluffton. The choices in Oakatie are slim. The vibe here is a grown up atmosphere . Happy hour at the bar is usually our choice. They have daily specials, with great choices and discounted drinks. Many appetizers to choose from. I particularly liked the crab cakes, my husband had the daily special Meatloaf. The prices are reasonable. Jessica and Chris make a great team behind the bar. Pleasant place for a full meal or appetizers at the bar. You will love it!! read more

The restaurant is so nice and the food was amazing . They have such a big menu which gives you more options which is great . However our sever wasn't very friendly. My boyfriend and I wanted to have a few drinks. We asked what drink on the menu is the sweetest drink and she pointed to the menu and said all the drinks are on that menu . Than five minutes later I asked again , I said what drink would you recommend and she slap her leg in frustration and said it's all in the menu than just starting naming drinks such as sex on the beach . I end up not ordering a drink because I was turn off . Just advice, if a guest wants to order drinks it makes your check bigger so just recommend a drink and maybe actually know what drinks are sweet and what aren't . read more

It's sad when the best thing you eat is the butter that comes with the bread. To start, we had a reservation and we were seated 20 minutes late, looking at our table unattended to and dirty, wishing for someone to simply clean it so we could sit down. When we finally sat down and ordered, the waiter forgot to bring out our appetizer and said "I'll take it off your bill" (duh?!) and then barely checked in to see how our food was. My husbands pasta was nothing to write home about and my ribs were dry and sad. I asked the waiter the story behind the name of the restaurant, he had no clue. A quick google search taught me everything I need to know (do your research). Not to mention every time he came to the table he approached us with his mask half way down his face. There are much better places to receive polite service and a better meal in the area. I'm going to take myself to Publix after this to finish eating that's how much I don't want to keep eating here. read more

Frankie Bones has become our favorite restaurant/bar, and we frequent it regularly. The staff is exceptional. We have found our names on our receipt after only visiting a handful of times and having not been there for over a month, and we are called by name on the regular. CHEERS! "Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name". Speaking of the environment, the oldies music and upscale yet laidback mood of the restaurant is exactly what we need after a long day at work or work week. read more

My husband and I stopped in I ordered a surf and turf lobster tail actually kind of under cooked and my steak was well done and I ordered medium rare..so had to recook it waitress never offered the manager for at least a free drink the bill was 100 dollars you would think since I ended up bringing my now raw steak home and I mean raw under cooked still mooooing that they could of offered something ! Had lunch today in the outside dining, the food was good, but very disturbing that none of the staff were wearing masks. When I went inside to use the bathroom with my mask on I stopped and asked why they weren't, "She told me that Serge doesn't require them too, that they don't where them inside or out, but only wear them when delivering curbside orders!!!!! Serg Group has several restaurants on the island and would they would appreciate the customers a little more and make them feel comfortable eating there. I will not patronize restaurants or businesses that don't put support their customers and care about their well being, You shouldn't have to tell them your uncomfortable in order for them to wear mask!!! read more

We are regulars at Frankie Bones in Bluffton. The service is getting weak and the manager needs to know. We prefer eating at the bar. Two weeks ago we went. We had to ask for the early bird menu, and we had to ask for bread. We did say we were there for dinner. I ordered off of the October Fest menu. Not a good idea. Then, we went again Oct. 3rd, got to the bar about 4:20 pm. Not too busy, we were given regular menus and the October Fest menu, again. My husband asked for the early bird menu and the bar tender shoved the October Fest menu at him and said.....this is it. What ? Is the manager pushing the bad October Fest menu wanting to clear the freezers ? We were given bread plates, and again, had to ASK for bread. My husband ordered ribs, there was literally a table spoon of sauce on 3 of the 6 rib bones. He had to ask for sauce, and he does not like it saucy. Before we left I asked the hostess if they still offer the early bird menu, she said yes. Like I said, we are regulars, but will back off for a while until we hear better reviews from our friends.
