A contradiction. The restaurant is new, the bar and decor is amazing. The food was outstanding. Music and Lighting was just bad Yet, the music was horrific. Music, circa 1970s ( CCR, Neil Young etc, as if your stopping bye the Aphoto weed store ). Just did not fit the vibe of the place The bar has a nice seats and layout, decor is all new and fresh. Finally got around to checking out Frankie's!! Let's start with the bread... so after & perfect! My wife ordered the kale soup, and I ordered the French Onion. Both were fantastic. My wife ordered grilled chicken with Alfredo sauce & linguini. The ability yo be able to create your own pasta is a nice touch. I ordered the short ribs. They were good, but I probably should have ordered the steak. It came with the mushroom sauce and had good flavor, but it was a bit small for me. The dessert menu looked great, although we didn't order. They have some great brick oven pizzas! They have thr oven right in the dining room for you to watch which is also a crowd pleaser. It was wonderful. We went there actually for you offering a 20% off special if you came on the night, they were making their new commercial for the TV and we did and it was very busy but the surface was excellent. We did order something for an appetizer, I believe they were the homemade clam cakes. It was quite a while before we was told that they actually sold out at lunch and the server it did not know so we'll have to go back and try that I did have the Boneless fried chicken breast with gravy that came hot and fresh nice and crunchy but filling. Had a taste like homemade mashed potatoes and a vegetable. I couldn't finish it end up coming home with us. My husband had the cheeseburger. I don't know exactly what it was called but he said it was very good as well Cook perfect we had window seats overlooking the lake. I will give the food a fair. Our waitress was ok. But the first problem was the very loud music in a mostly empty place at 6pm on a Saturday. They did turn it down when asked. Now the fruit flies. In our face, and all over the wall next to us. Just gross. We showed the waitress, she said she knew about the problem. We asked to speak to the manager, but he never spoke to us. Just awful! Even though it was not busy, we couldn't get anyone to wait on us in the dining room so we moved to the bar. The bartender was more interested in busing the bar than waiting on us! After 20 minutes we gave up and left and will not be back. Wait staff was no where to be found and bartender wasn't interested in waiting on us. It was obvious they didn't want our business or our money! There are PLENTY of better options out there! First time coming here. Service was very slow. But they have been because someone called out. My husband got a speciality drink. He thought it was ok. Food came out and was very good. They had live music which was ridiculously loud and I could barely understand our waitress and have a good evening with my husband. Had to scream in order to hear him. Waitress asked if his drink was good. Said it was ok. And said would be better with some more alcohol in it. But he was all set. Waitress comes back with another drink which we didn't order. Miscommunication because of the loud music. Paid 28 bucks plus the extra shot an additional 8. Which was ridiculous. Went to Frankie's for Easter Brunch. I initially reserved for 10 and then called back and spoke to Andrew to add two more. They were very accommodating. It was amazing! The array of foods was great! There was a tiered shrimp cocktail tower. Racks of Lamb, New York Sirloin, Ham, Baked Stuff Haddock, Chicken Marsala and so many delicious sides. My family loved the pastas. The breakfast included pancakes, French toast, quiches, bacon (the best I've ever had), sausages. I have to give the staff credit. They never stopped. They aimed to please. And it showed! They were all so pleasant. Our server was Savannah and she was top notch. Randy stopped at our table numerous times to see if we needed anything. He was replenishing the dishes as quick as they were emptying. The place is not too big, compared to huge venues I've been to. My son commented that he loved it and how quaint it felt. New spot in town and pretty good! Lets start with the menu... everything from brick oven pizza to spanish food to Mexican to Asian to Portuguese and finally Italian. Its is like a few different restaurants in one, each with their own section on the menu with apps and mains. The arancini was great. Loved the bread. The Indian dish lacked flavor but Indian is so hard to master I should have known better than to order that. My husband loved the jambalaya. Portions were big, enough to take home. Had the worst experience last evening on Valentines Day! We had a 6'pm reservation and were seated right away. Immediately it became clear there were problems. We overheard tables around us complaining of no service, drinks taking more than 20 mins and food nowhere in site. It took over 10 mins for someone to even acknowledge us and we were instructed by our server to order everything right away to even get a chance of seeing food within an hour. It took us another 15 mins just to get water though we had gotten bread dropped off by someone else. Our bar drinks took 25 mins and when the appetizer followed at 50 mins from when we arrived, it was a sweet and heavy saturated mess of calamari. Tables started getting up and leaving without ever being waited on and others asking for their check after just drinks and maybe an appetizer as they had been there well over an hour. I had a direct line of site to the bar and a bartender pulled up the bar orders coming off the printer and no lie - it was more than two arms length long. I witnessed her take one and keeping 'working'. Service and food were awful, waiting was inexcusable, and no managers or someone in charge anywhere in site. Add to it they had live music that was loud and not very fitting for a Valentine's Day time they advertised. Patrons had to yell to be heard. My husband and I left hungry and with a headache only having one drink and a poor appetizer while being there for over an hour. All of us in a group of tables were so dumbfounded by how bad this was, that we joked that we were waiting for Gordon Ramsey to come out and tell us to put our forks down in an episode of Reataurant Nightmares! Excellent service at the bar from Savannah. Drinks were great, penne with vodka sauce and chicken was delicious as was the tomato mozzarella salad. Tomatoes could have been more red and ripe and more balsamic glaze would have elevated it the app a bit but all around, great meal and we will definitely go back! This was a very pleasant surprise! We first visited this restaurant a few months ago for dinner and were not disappointed. There were 4 of us (with 2 of us who can be hard to please). We each ordered a different dish (meat and fish) and shared a few starters. Everything was cooked to perfection, hot from the kitchen and beautifully presented. Our second dinner was last Sunday for brunch. Small but fabulous selection at the buffet (including perfectly cooked eggs Benedict). The ambiance is smart casual with an open format, an upscale bar, well designed table layout plus a private party room. We have been to Frankie's Intl Bistro a few times & every time they never disappoint! The food is always phenomenal, the prices are great and the staff is always attentive, friendly & engaging. Right from the young man who is the host to seat you to the wait staff & even the bartenders. The ambience is pleasant and feels fresh. Appreciated the many vegan options but it seemed that the floor staff didn't know what veganism is all about. I ordered the kale & vegan cheddar salad. The runner brought out the kale & bacon salad. The server brought us the Parmesan bread & whipped butters that we had to refuse. She let us know later that the kitchen was making us some bread, which was very nice. It turned out to be pizza dough but it was good with our entrees. The eggplant & tofu rolls were good & crispy. The tofu would have used more seasoning. The truffle spaghetti & stuffed peppers were both very good. Service was slow but we had a nice table next to the fireplace & weren't in a rush. We were very excited to find out this place with huge menu! The waitresses were friendly even though we entered the place in the wrong way. That was l exit-only door! However, regarding their food, I have to say we were very disappointed. The pasta dish I ordered was tasteless, it's horrible cold noodles without any flavor. This is probably the worst dish I have ever tasted! Besides that, we had mentioned to the server that we may have not gotten the right dish. I said it's said it comes with Fusilli pasta. But that's flat noodles. She said, no it's correct that's our homemade pasta! I know help and staffing is an issue for places these days but you have to have some knowledge of what you are serving. We also asked for the cauliflower steak dish to try and we were made aware they were out of that dish about 25 minutes later after ordering. You can't deliver such a large Menu and not have those options. At least make the staff aware of what's not available for the night to make the customers aware before reading through such a large menu. read more

My wife and I had been a while ago. Service was slow food was ok. We did not have any desire to return. Last week we went for a late breakfast on Sunday at our usual spot which was longer serving when we got there. I heard that Frankie's had a brunch and my wife hesitently agreed to try. Food was great, drinks were great as well as service. New Chef/Manager Shannon came to our table and introduced himself as well as going over the new menu. The new owners did a fantastic job redoing the building, really nice looking place! The menu is different and kind of all over the place, American, BBQ, seafood, Asian, Italian, Portuguese, vegan, and pizza. Places that try to do everything and not specialize in one area tend to not do it all that well. Each page has it's section of appetizers, mains, and sides, so if you'd like an appetizer, you can't just look at a single appetizer section, you'll have to look through several pages. Bread was topped with garlic/Parm kind of seasoning, was good. Think soft/doughy rather than a crusty type of bread. The bread was served with a garlic butter as well as (get this) a sweet honey butter. Honey and garlic an interesting combination to serve. The main dishes had hits and misses. The chicken Parm's tomato sauce really lacked seasoning. Kind of like they opened a jar of crushed tomatoes and poured it on, was very watery and no flavor. Avoid dishes with a red sauce. Mongolian beef was another miss. It was ordered with white rice but it came out with rice noodles that you would find in like a pad Thai dish. When you think of Mongolian beef, normally beef with onions comes to mind. There were a few green onions sprinkled on the top, but otherwise was really beef and bell peppers. For the positives, the Chicken Marsala was very good, as were the cocktails. The hostess and waitress were both friendly and helpful. The pizza oven was fired the entire time we were there, however, it was not really getting used. Was a bit disappointed seeing a pizza being made as we were leaving by a cook in a sleeveless shirt. Does that even pass health requirements? Makes me wonder how the kitchen runs which you can't see. Overall, the restaurant was trying to be upscale but unfortunately, the food did not match the prices. read more

We brought in a large group for dinner. The atmosphere is very elegant with black tablecloths on table and full service. They started us off with fresh baked bread loaves on every table. We ordered a variety of items including: brick oven pizzas, lobster ravioli, grilled sirloin, jambalaya, chicken Marsala, and chicken fried chicken. The service was very attentive and friendly. We ended with some desserts. We had their regular and pumpkin cheesecake which was delicious. They were big and we brought some back with us. They also offered a chocolate cake and cannolis. I recommend this restaurant if you have a group that are looking for different cuisines. They had American fare, Asian fare, Italian, pizzas, and more. I just left Frankie's in Plainville MA. I hade a 6:45 reservation. We were seated promptly, but things went downhill from there. Our waitress Savanna came over after about 15 minutes and took our drink order and said she would be back with our bread. We recieved our drinks after 15-20 minutes. Savanna took our order and after an hour they brought over 2 of the 4 meals (still no bread and no sign of waitress). After being there over 1 hour and 45 minutes Savanna came over and wanted to know what was going on and I told her what happened and 20 minutes later she brought the two other meals over as we were walking out the door. 2 hours and I was done. The 2 meals we got were not hot (the only thing hot was me). Bad service and bad food. I would give no stars if I could. don't know how this place is still in business. George B read more

Last Friday, my friend and I arrived 5-minutes early for our 8:30pm reservation. We were met at the front door with befuddled glances from patrons and wait staff alike. Frankie's appeared to have one waitress and one bartender on the floor, and both looked directly at us at some point, while continuing to ignore my friend and I while we patiently waited to be seated. After about 7-minutes of standing idly, and awkwardly, analyzing the menu, we decided to try a different nearby Italian restaurant. Food was great! In their defense, there was one waitress working a few tables. That said, the room was quite small. The staff made no single attempt to communicate with us. Sorry but went as a party of 6, bolognese was gross, tasted like they dumped a cup of nutmeg in it, sent it back. Got lobster ravioli instead, mine had more of a marinara style sauce, yet another in our party had it too, and theirs was a vodka sauce. Theirs tasted OK, mine tasted like ravioli with spaghetti sauce, but with lobster. Not very good, but I ate it anyway, as I was now starving and couldn't wait for yet another meal. One ordered pizza from their brick oven section. That was very good. I should have just gotten the pizza. My wife's shrimp scampi was under cooked, had to send that back too. I don't recall the other meals specifically now, but another fish dish had to be sent back due to being overcooked. Meal was a disaster overall, with everyone eating at different times, meals going back, replacement meals coming out at different times. So, place looks very nice, clean, etc.. service was fine, no issues beyond being served horrible meals. Normally I give places a 2nd chance, but no way for this one. Expensive night for such a dismal and disappointing meal. I even had to tell the manager to remove the bolognese from the bill, even though I only had a single bite, that was then spit into a napkin it was so terribly bitter.
