We went back to Frankie's On the Park to look for a service dress for my daughter's upcoming bat mitzvah. This time I made an appt with the infamous Suzie who was kind enough to meet us on a Sunday morning before the store was even open. Suzie has quite the reputation (a good one!) among the bat mitzvah girls and I can see why. She had an eye for what would look good on my daughter and nailed it within 5 minutes. Done! We then made our way downstairs to do some shopping while we had the store to our own. She found a dress to wear to other mitzvahs that she liked so much we got it in a few colors and did some fall shopping as well (aka sweatpants and cute long sleeve tees). We spent more than I was planning to, but the smile on her face was priceless. My daughter wears a junior size and I do find the dress selection a bit limited for juniors (she had 2 racks to choose from), but they certainly have more than anywhere else I've seen and easier to try on person than ordering a bunch online. I think she's good on dresses for the rest of 2023, but when we are ready for more I"ll definitely be calling Suzie to make sure she'll be there to help! read more

I am deeply concerned about the maturity of today's children's clothing. These styles are entirely inappropriate and belong on a 20 or 25-year-old woman, not a child. It makes me wonder, at what point did we lose our way in designing clothes that are truly appropriate for our kids? We once had brands like Justice and The Limited that understood how to dress children without making them look like miniature adults. We must ask ourselves why this is happening now. read more

Rude! I walked in with my friend today and said to her, "I don't think it's just children's items." The woman working there turned to us, sized us up and down, and said "We have juniors sizes and one or two things for women, a cashmere sweater." She then proceeded to return to her conversation with the three teenagers hanging out in the shop. Little did the lady know I was shopping for five cousins who are in middle school. I almost never leave reviews, but I felt compelled to do so after my experience this weekend. So the store itself is so cute and someone really does have an eye for the tween market. It's an absolute girly heaven in there. My complaint lies more with the employees. This is the third time I've been in and the third time I've left with a bad feeling about the way I was treated. I came in with my daughter, two other moms and their three daughters. We were the only ones there and we were greeted by one of the three employees barking at us about our drinks. Fine. I took them outside. Then she proceeded to sit in a chair and look at her phone for the majority of the time. Just short, snippy and not helpful. Later she did get up again to remove two of the girls from a fitting room she didn't want them in. Mind you it was open, and they were just sitting in there quietly looking at a book. We all ended up spending a fair amount of money in there, and she was a bit more attentive after that, but really it was too little too late. It was really off putting and I won't be back any time soon. Like I said, it's hardly an isolated incident for this store. If it was a one time thing I'd chalk it up to an employee having a bad day, but it's the 3rd time and it looks like others have had similar experiences. read more

This is where neighborhood Karen's go to "shop". I was told to get out after I was let into the store because it was a "private event". It looked like a bunch of old women complaining about how inconvenienced they were by the simple people around them. I overheard women complaining about how homeless people bother them too much in the streets of Lincoln Park. Anyways, I wanted this pretty bag I saw in the window. Just walked into this store and I was yelled at twice by the employers and decided to leave right away because they didn't deserve my time or money. Make sure that if you are an adult or a teen to NOT walk back to the kids section because I guess that's not allowed and you will be yelled at. Also DO NOT go upstairs because according the employee that yelled at me and my sister, it is very against the rules. They basically acted like if we touched or looked at anything that wasn't our "size" or meant for our "age" that it would all be ruined. Don't go here if you don't want to treated like a piece of poop. I hate the fact I even have to give one star to leave this review. Thank you Frankie's for not a good. this store is just the rudest! there were two ladies working and neither showed kindness. they basically fat shamed us into saying we can't even go in a few sections of the store. we couldn't go anywhere with out them nagging on us. they were very rude and yelled at us for doing something we had no idea was wrong. don't go here unless you want terrible customer service! they are awful here! read more

My friends and I had just arrived in Chicago and were looking forward to exploring the city and decided to visit this shop along the way. Right away, the vibe was off. NO one greeted us and instead we were followed around by one young employee while an older woman behind the desk watched. Wherever we went, she followed. No one said ANYTHING to us, just made the atmosphere extremely uncomfortable and made us feel un-welcomed. We left without buying anything and will never come back. No one said goodbye either. Absolutely awful experience. It's a very unwelcoming store, they immediately scolded my daughter for not having her mask above her nose. They offer no help, don't look you in the eyes and even worse didn't say thank you. My daughter insisted on buying a small item. I own a small business myself and know the importance of putting your customer first AND thanking them for your business. Will never come back. Word of advice for the owner- loosen up, smile and embrace your community. Otherwise Frankie's on the park won't make it read more

Frankie's....oh Frankie's. Sit down, love. We need to talk. This is a cute, two story shop. A lot of stuff for the young gals, some for us older ones as well, and there's some cool stuff to look at upstairs so if you venture in there, don't leave before checking it out. I am taking issue with some of the prices though. Yes, I have bought items in the past that made my wallet moan in agony. But if I am buying something pricey, I have to feel that what I am buying is worth the price. A Scorpions tee shirt for $68 though? A gray tee shirt, not even 100% cotton, with Scorpions written across it...for $68. Did I want that plain shirt? Heck yes! Could I rationalize paying almost $70 for it....sorry. No can do. read more

I had a gift certificate to this store and took my 11 year old daughter who was in heaven ! ! ! Yes its overpriced; some of their kid jewelery etc I've seen other places for cheaper but they had some cute cute stuff and the staff spent a lot of time with her not minding that she was trying on a lot but we were spending a little. They also have an upstairs short and tshirt bar where you can design your own items which was affordable and cool. They did have several items for sale but none of it was advertised. You had to ask. All in all it was a fun experience and I'm sure she'll be back to spend her 'mad money'. read more

I love love love Frankies on the Park! It has exactly what the girls my age are wearing and it's the best shopping experience ever! I modeled there once with my friends and even taking a little longer than we should have, the staff was very tolerant and my friends and I had a blast! Recently just came here with 3 of my friends, because it seemed cute from the outside. as soon as we walked in we were swarmed with eyes from every employee. they made us feel very uncomfortable, as if we were going to steal something? i completely understand watching and monitoring for theft, but it was extreme and everytime we moved one girl moved with us. like literally eyed us town the entire time and made us feel unwanted. i recommend better training. definitely won't be coming here again. also the BLM against the "4th of july" display really contradicts the entire message. read more

Hands down the best tween/teen shopping experience in Chicago. The selection is creative and fun and the staff is warm and friendly. Clothes range from seriously casual to very dressy. They have a cute collection of jewelry ranging in price from super cheap to much higher end. Plus upstairs they have a custom Tee shirt/sweat shirt design area and Dylans candy. We first discovered Frankies while visiting Chicago when our daughter was 10 but have returned every time we visit Chicago. The staff is always helpful and makes us feel like we're regulars. I live right around the corner from Frankie's in LP so I've given it several chances hoping it would be better but no such luck. I go in once in a while to look for gifts for my nieces or pick up a cute pair of sweatpants or a t-shirt. They have a small selection but it's good. Every single time I go in there, no one greets me or even acknowledges my presence. Everytime I walk towards the back to look for things for my nieces they tell me in a very rude way that the back is just for children... like I'm not supposed to go back there. I buy something every time I go in there and they are still so rude and don't even make eye contact. I've completely checked out without so much as a word.. who I think maybe the owner one time even implied that I must have picked out the wrong size about a pair of sweatpants... she's the rudest of anyone store person I've ever encountered. read more

Wow, this is the best childrens clothing store in Lincoln Park. Don't let some the of the prices scare you off. Frankies has all level of prices and the quality is unmatched. People are very friendly and customer service is excellent. I go primarily to have personalized gifts made. They do a good job with iron ons either with kids names, cute patterns or camp names, etc. They even let you bring your own merchandise and charge just $5 to do the iron ons. Their selection of merchandise for the iron-ons isn't that great, so bring your own t-shirts, sweatshirts, pajama pants, etc. and you can get cute personalized items. I agree with some of the people below that the prices for the kids clothes are a bit much sometimes. read more

The store is warm, inviting, and the customer service is friendly and more than happy to help! The merchandise is so well selected and serves a variety of purposes. Clothes range from comfy casual to cute and simple with a flare. Everything is tastefully chosen and can be worn from work then out for a cute gathering. As a mid-twenty year old, I really appreciate that most items don't need to be dry cleaned! I also found great gifts at reasonable prices that certainly don't break the bank for my younger girlfriends who are in the process of fashion maturation and coming into their own wardrobe. I love Frankie's! Though it is a bit pricey, there are some good finds in this store. I have bought a necklace from here, which was a bit expensive, but I wear it almost every day, so it was worth it. They have a few pairs of cute shoes, too- I just picked up some amazing Sam Edelman flats. I definitely wish there were more clothes for adults in there, but space is limited. I wouldn't regularly buy clothes from here because of the prices, but the clothes are beautiful if you just want to pick up a few things, and the accessories are very cute and trendy. read more

Frankie's is a wonderful store for teenage girls. And, maybe some fit moms. The store has a very positive, fun vibe. They take girls seriously and give them independence to choose their own style. When one gets to know the staff, they will even invite the girls to do quick photo shoots in their clothes. It is a wonderful confidence booster for young girls just learning about themselves.
