    Heirloom Tomato Salad
    Jared D.

Excellent experience. Really fun bar that also makes exceptional drinks and quality food. Sat outside as it was a bit warmer. Beautiful interior and a nice outside as well. My favorite was the steak and guanciale. Second would be there heirloom tomato salad. Those 2 are the shit together. Had a couple drinks with a friend and had so much fun. Glad I could come support after I heard so much of it from Angelo next door at Norcina when they were still making the space! Everyone was so kind, friendly, and a gentle guide here.

New addition to the marina !!! Overall loved the vibe. Went second weekend so I think they are sorting out links. There was one server for the whole inside and she was clearly tired you could tell. She did a great job despite that. Drinks were fun and inventive with cool glassware like a tray for your martini and they specialize in martinis and Negronis. Unlike most bars, great food menu! A little pricey but really cute and fun will be back.

4.5 STARS Paws before balls. They're loyal and don't judge...if you want to romance the bottle. A passion project from the owner of Norcina, Frankie's is the hot new bar in The Marina (opened 2/13/26). It's named after the owner's lab who roams around giving love to customers. Open seating indoors and outdoors. M E N U Signature craft cocktails ($16-$22), shooters, i.e. campari + fernet ($11-$14), beer ($9), and wine (list available upon request). Bar bites ($4-$21): Oysters, charcuterie, skewers, flatbread, and sandwiches. No utensils; everything is meant to be eaten with a stick or with your hands. Kitchen is open until midnight. Not spicy at all. * Steak Tartare w/ potato croquette, anchovy spuma (4 pc-$17): https://tinyurl.com/2rk3744a The warm, tender potato mille-feuille nicely contrasted the savory tartare, while the airy anchovy foam added a punch of salty umami. * Sirloin + Guanciale w/ dijonnaise, horseradish (4 pc-$16): https://tinyurl.com/dt4ucedh Enjoyed the charred flavor but the sirloin was dry and overdone. I only trek for to The Marina for two reasons: Mishka's and Komeya but now I have a third reason: FRANKIE!

This was such a great find on our mid week trip to SF! Great atmosphere, drunks were amazing AND we got to pet the owner!

Came to meet Frankie the dog and stayed for the lobster roll. We did not regret it! Also get the truffle fries - they were amazing. The drinks were just okay but the food alone definitely makes this worth a stop if you're in the Marina

Beautiful black, white and red ambience color scheme with huge hanging flower fixtures. The bar has a large portrait of "Frankie". He is a calm and cool golden Labrador that wanders around greeting guests. Frankie is just one of the friendly attentive staff. The many martinis come with a side car on ice and choice of garnishes. The cocktails are fresh fusions that you can accompany with delicious baked oysters or flat bread and more. The oysters shooters are an extra bonus. If you sit by the open windows, you feel like you are in another place and time. A must for your Marina district visit. Be Back to see you, Frankie!

Frankie's was great! The service was excellent, and we even got to meet Frankie himself. We stopped in for a quick bite and ordered the lobster roll and garlic fries. The lobster roll was delicious and generously packed with lobster, and the garlic fries were just as tasty. We'd definitely come back!

Every time I'm in there is such an amazing experience! It literally feels like I'm having a drink at home. The chef is an amazing and very talented person, the manager Angelo is always so friendly and treats everyone like a friend! Also the food is outstanding, I love the grilled cheese and the lobster roll. At last I can't forget about the main man which is Frank the dog! Is literally the best thing in the world seeing him walk around and smiling while everyone is having a great time!

we sat at the bar. There is a fly problem at this restaurant. Several flies bothering us while eating. And than we couldn't help but look at the Frankie picture in the center bar. There's 10+ dead flies on the Dog picture.

Absolutely amazing. Just what the Marina needed - great vibes and awesome food. Kudos to Angelo & Chef - 10/10!

The dog is cute but the drinks are expensive, pre-batched, and not good. Wouldn't come back.

Love that Frankie the dog roams around - amazing stuff. Super friendly dog and love the bow tie. The services feels frantic, our group had a drink get spilled on them and other drinks showed up at random 15 minute intervals. Trying to understand what need or niche this bar fills in the marina. Would come back for the eponymous Frankie, but would go to other places for food and drink . Didn't try food but I can see the pizza oven in the back

Dear Val and The Patio Restaurant Team,…read more We wanted to extend our sincere thanks to you and the entire Patio Restaurant staff for making our wedding brunch celebration such a memorable experience. From the very beginning, Val was incredibly kind, responsive, and organized. She answered every question we had and guided us through the planning process with patience and professionalism. Her recommendations on the food portions were spot on, ensuring that everyone had plenty to enjoy without overordering. Our family and friends had a wonderful time, and everyone complimented the food, drinks, and beautiful venue. The patio space created such a warm, welcoming, and intimate atmosphere that was perfect for celebrating with our loved ones. The brunch menu was outstanding. Every dish was delicious, from the mac & cheese, fried chicken sandwiches, and meatballs to the calamari mixto, French toast, fruit and berries, charcuterie selection, sommelier's cheese selection, little gem salad, avocado toast, and scrambled eggs with potatoes. There was something for everyone, and every plate was enjoyed. We also want to recognize the bartender for crafting amazing drinks throughout the event and the servers for being so friendly, attentive, and professional. They made sure our guests were well taken care of and contributed to the relaxed and joyful atmosphere. The entire team went above and beyond to ensure everything was set up perfectly, allowing us to simply enjoy the celebration with our family and friends. We will always cherish the memories we made that day, and Patio Restaurant will forever be a special place for us. Thank you, Val, and thank you to everyone on your team for providing such exceptional service and hospitality. We truly appreciate everything you did and look forward to visiting again in the future. It was kind of strange but I overlooked it. So we got a proper table and our menus and yet, even though there was only one other couple sitting in the back, it took forever for our server to help us. When he finally came back to take our order, we ended up giving him our entire order for drinks, apps and food cause we were starving (he didn't come to take our order until 30-40 min after we sat down). Then when the food came, it didn't come coursed out at all. The mains came before the shared appetizers. The oysters came out midway through our meal. It was all just kind of a mess. I ordered a burger medium and it was mostly pink through the entire burger and had little to no salt in it - there was no flavor! The fries I asked for crispy and they were just not soggy but hardly crisped. All around, the food was lackluster and the service was disappointing.

It's definitely on the expensive side, and the portions are on the smaller side, but every dish is incredibly creative, fresh, and packed with flavor. If you're looking for a place that feels clean and healthy without sacrificing taste, this is one of my favorites. I find myself craving it, especially for dinner. One thing that can be a little confusing is the hours. They often leave the door open, and because there's so much foot traffic, it's hard to tell whether they're actually open. I've definitely been the person peeking in to ask. They serve lunch on certain days, but they seem to be primarily a dinner spot. The biggest downside is the service. Unfortunately, it's been consistently underwhelming across all three visits, even with different servers. I've found the staff to be pretty dismissive, which makes me think it's more of the standard experience than just a one off. Because of that, I don't really dine in anymore. Instead, I usually order takeout and enjoy it outside. The food is absolutely worth it, even if the service isn't. If the quality of the food weren't this exceptional, I probably wouldn't have returned after my first visit. But it's honestly that good, and that's why I keep coming back.

The person who states "This is most likely the best restaurant in the world" has to be beyond sheltered; It's not even the best restaurant in the _neighborhood_. The main thing you must understand: the food is "inspired" by Indian food, but it does _not_ taste like Indian food. I suspect its been intentionally watered down to be palatable to milquetoast palettes. We ordered three small plates and the butter chicken as the main. Chicken Tikka Taco. This was greasy to the touch, with chicken and cheese. The dominate flavor is the cheddar cheese. They were trying to be creative but the ultimate effect was similar to a frozen burrito with cheddar cheese and chile verde. If you eat this, close your eyes and imagine a microwaved, frozen burrito..you'll see what I mean. Tandoori Avocado. This features an avocado that's been warmed and covered in a chili sauce. There's a green hummus and a fried dosa crisp. While it sounds wild, once the flavors are mixed together on the plate...the overall effect is that of a green-goddess salad. It's not bad, but its not mind bending. Octopus Xec Xec. The octopous was was cooked nicely and there was a tomato based sauce. Unlike something you'd find in India, it is _not_ heavy on the spices, or tang, or nuttiness. It's just very _neutral_. Butter Chicken. This was the biggest disappointment. I've never had a butter chicken curry that tasted so close to tomato soup in my life. I've eaten tons of butter chicken in my life, hundreds of Indian restaurants. I cannot imagine this was not an intentional choice...It was extremely disappointing. Also, the choice to use chicken breast was poor. Inevitably you get overcooked, chewy chicken pieces. They must have chosen this because (like Disneyland) sometimes you water things down to make it more popular with less adventurous people. The customers next to us (not Indian) kept slathering it on their rice and saying "I can't believe I didn't use to like Indian food!" -- that told me all I needed to know. BTW the naan is insanely bad. They stretched it very thin and then crisped it to the point that it breaks like a cracker. In what world is naan not pillowy and soft? Personally, I was really disappointed with this experience -- the other reviews on yelp are absolute insanity IMO. I know there's a hype train right now -- but someday people will realize this place is not it.
