We popped into Delarosa right before 6pm on a Wednesday. My sister had been to the restaurant before and said nothing but great things about it, so i was looking forward to our dinner. Appreciated that we were able to get seated right away without a reservation. There was plenty of indoor seating, but the restaurant had an outdoor patio as well. We opted to sit inside because of the vibes: Cute and modern, fun light fixtures, bright and open communal layout. We settled in right before Happy Hour was ending. We put in a few items to share including a spicy soppressata pizza, 2 margherita pizzas, calamari (not on HH menu), white prawns with butter sauce and toasted bread. My roommate and I stopped in late Friday night and were able to luckily snag a table for 2. We ordered some drinks to start and then the burrata bruschetta- definitely a must get! We loved the honey and the nuts that come with it, I think about this dish often. We ordered the rigatoncini pasta and the chicken skewer to split. I was pleasantly surprised by the pasta- it was a little spicy, creamy, and packed with flavor. We didn't like the chicken skewers as much and thought we could've skipped ordering them. The restaurant is composed mainly of long tables, so we sat next to another party of two. My friend and I had come on Valentine's Day, so they had a special spritz that we both got and we both enjoyed! It tasted very similar to a typical aperol spritz, which we both like. We also got a steak skewer, ziti chicken parmigiana, and calamari to share. This was more than enough food for two people! I really liked the steak skewer - it was my favorite dish of the night. It's cooked perfectly, and sits on a bed of onions and potatoes. The calamari was also fried and seasoned perfectly, and I enjoyed the sauce it came with as well. Such a lovely dining experience after a long Sunday in San Francisco! We had officially tried to go to Original Joes, but with a two hour wait, we looked for other options. Delarosa was highly reviewed and,importantly, had seating available. We got a pizza, pasta, and salad to share between the three of us. Delarosa is a really good spot for Italian food. There's indoor and outdoor seating and we sat outside which was nice. To start we got the burrata bruschetta. It comes with burrata cheese, honey, and hazelnuts on top. It was simple but super yummy, but I think the hazelnuts were not needed and overpowered the taste a bit. I was happy to see vegetarian lasagna on the menu as that's usually rare. It was good but maybe slightly overcooked. To drink I got the aperol spritz and it was so good, tasted like Fanta almost. We didn't have a reservation, and the place was packed, but we got a table outdoors within 30 mins, so it was not bad at all. The place was lively and bustling, but the service was still pretty fast and friendly. I had the Midnight in Oaxaca cocktail, and for dinner, we had the crab arancini and the bartender pizza. Going by what others ordered, the bartender pizza seems to be a popular choice. The cocktail was okay - it was a little too sweet for my taste, but it was well presented. The sweetness completely overpowered the smokiness of the mezcal. But it was quite potent. LOL. The arancinis were tasty, but the pizza was the highlight for me. Exactly what I imagined. Thin crust, lovely sauce, tasty toppings. The pizza base was delicious just by itself. I could just eat the crusts with some olive oil or balsamic vinegar and still be happy. Full marks there! By the time they brought out my friend's food, mine was cold. Beyond this, I was very disappointed by the service. Portions were not very big, especially for the price. Fungi pizza - Crispy, fluffy crust but the flavor itself was on the bland side. This is a very popular restaurant, so it can get quite crowded and noisy, making conversation difficult to hear. We still had loud of fun though! Was excited to check out happy hour at Delarosa, was incredibly disappointed. I'll start by saying the Happy Hour menu did have great deals, and I enjoyed the Aperol Spritz and my pizza just fine. Where Delarosa really missed the mark was service - from the initial interaction at the host stand being cold to our service throughout the night. We sat without our server coming to say hi or offer us anything for 15 minutes, which felt like forever. When our server did come she apologized, but service stayed incredibly slow all night. We also had several different people take our orders and it all felt very messy, disorganized, and below average. Waited a little bit to order, but we decided on doing the Girl Dinner promo along with a Fennel Sausage pizza. We were told no modifications were allowed for the Girl Dinner promo (understandably), which came with the caesar salad, cacio e pepe fries and a dirty martini. We requested for the dressing and parmesan to be put on the side for our salad and fries. The salad was pretty basic, but the lettuce was super fresh and crisp and the croutons added a really nice crunch. I'm glad I asked for the dressing on the side as I was able to add smaller amounts, but never got the cheese and didn't want to bother our server because it was super busy. The fries were my favorite part of the meal and had a great pepper flavor. I wish they served this outside of the girl dinner menu so I could have it with a different entree. We ended up moving to the bar seating as the communal tables were right near the doorway and it was a bit cold, and the servers were accommodating. We ordered the Aperol spritz and al fresco spritz for drinks, and the calamari, burrata bruschetta, and broccolini to share. We loved everything we got! The broccolini had just a tiny hint of spice and the burrata was just a tad sweet. We'd definitely want to come back to try out more of the menu. Went to see my sister to help her pick out her wedding dress. The appointment ended and we were hungry. We were walking to a different location and this spot caught our attention. The restaurant itself was very cute and we sat in the back. We looked over the menu and everything looked good. This hidden treasure was recommended to us by another merchant close by this restaurant. We just happened to go here during Happy Hour and the name lived up to Happy Hour! My friend ordered a chocolate Martini that looked delicious! The three of us shared the spicy meatballs, Caesar Salad and Margarita pizza. All of those items were $10 each on the Happy Hour menu. The spicy meatballs lived up to its name. The meatballs were cooked to perfection, smothered in a spicy tomato sauce that seriously had a kick! The Caesar Salad had just the right amount of dressing, crushed anchovies and the lettuce was fresh. Delicious! The Margarita pizza was loaded with buffalo mozzarella that melted in your mouth with the basil. We asked for more basil which they happily gave us a lot more to add to our pizza!
