If you are ever in this area, this is a must stop! They make their own whiskey and vodka. Many flavors to choose from. They have a few beers on tap and in can. My husband got the old fashioned with their Maker's oak reserve. It was smooth and very good. We started with the pretzel which was dressed with very little salt and some parmesan cheese. This comes served with a dipping sauce of your choice. We got cheese. It was a good starter. I ordered the bison burger. It was amazing! I ordered it medium well and it was juicy and flavorful. Their waffle fries were crispy and sprinkled with cajun spice. Not spicy or greasy. The regular burgers are good but don't top the bison burger. Great service and efficient even while being short-staffed. The wait staff very courteous and happy. Good tunes playing. Bathrooms very clean. Checked in here and got a free shot glass hand-etched by them. This place is truly a gem! read more

Stayed here through Harvest Hosts and was so happy I decided to stop. I'll start off by saying I have some of the best small batch whiskey I've ever had! They also have an amazing assortment of infused vodka's and other spirits. I didn't get a chance to eat any food but from what I saw they had a decent menu. The location is great, they open up a lot of their parking lot to Harvest Hosts which is very generous. And all of the staff were amazing, I had a great time chatting with a few of them and if I'm ever in the area I will absolutely come back. Checked this place out on a Friday night when we were looking for a fun and casual place to get drinks and dinner with our family of four. There was a sign on the door about being short handed which was no problem. We received great service. My husband had a Bloody Mary and I ordered an Old Fashioned. Totally disappointed with the quality of the food. Chicken tenders $6.50 for 3 with a roll and they were burned. Ruben $11.25 and was a joke. Loaded potato wedges $9.50 and were mixed with some cheese and bacon thrown in. Will definitely it eat here again as the last 2 times have been a complete disappointment. We travel 4 hours ONEWAY to get drinks and food when we have a day to spend away from work. We travel on motorcycle or motorhome. The 141 Rye is worth every penny. Makes a fantastic old fashioned. I wish they'd get the 140 proof vodka they had a few years ago back again. It put Grey Goose to shame. Laid back place, cool bartenders and servers, great patio out back when the weather's nice. Highly recommended!!! read more

We were having a mini vacation and visiting distilleries. Came upon this one by looking thru google maps. Decided we were close so we went to visit. Selected 2 flights for tasting - smoothest Vodka and so many flavors to choose from - currently they have about 30 at the end they are saying they will have about 39...guess that means another trip. This is the best place in Boones Mill to drink liquor. They distill their own liquor and have an interesting cocktail menu. There is music fairly often. While they don't have a kitchen, you might be able to catch them on a day when there's a food truck. There's a patio with a fire pit out back that will be a good place to sit when the weather is warm. . read more

The blue ridge cheers trail brought us here. So glad they did. Staff is awesome and make you feel at home. We had a flight consisting of the rye, vodka, brandy, and rum. But honestly, the real stars of the day were the Andy's Apple Poe and Andy's orange creamsicle cocktails... both are a must when you visit. Stopped into Franklin County Distilleries for the second time. The staff is not trained or something. We sat outside for the quarantine re-opening. We had a waitress that had colored hair who was terrible. Didn't know how to enter our food order, kept rubbing her nose and was completely clueless. It was the craziest most unprofessional backwards thing I've ever seen in a bar/restaurant. I couldn't tell if she was drunk, high or what. Most of the older staff seemed drunk. By far the worst restaurant I've ever been to, the inside is definitely nice and pleasurable, but everything else was terrible. Our server was very nice so absolutely no hate towards her, but she was never around, at the end, when we were done eating, she was gone for 20 mins so we couldn't get our check. But anyways, we get our drinks, most of us got sweet teas and that was basically water, we go to order and she tells us that most of everything was not available, like the wings which I was hoping to get, but after what happens next, I'm glad I didn't, side note the wings were $1.50 per wing. I settled with getting a Philly Cheesesteak and tots, which the side does not come with the meal, and costs $2.50 on top of the $11.50 Cheesesteak. We finally got our food, no long wait on that, but it gets out on small plates, my Philly Cheesesteak was no bigger then a burger, not a Philly cheesesteak in my opinion, the tots were a decent portion but for $2.50 it better be. By far the only thing I enjoyed was the tots, which thats hard to mess up, the cheesesteak was not seasoned so was bland. Then my girlfriend got a grilled chicken sandwich, she could not finish it because is tasted like fish, she is not a big fan of fish but I am pretty sure that chicken should not taste like fish. My girlfriend's brother got a burger with mac and cheese, the burger was standard size and the mac and cheese was about two spoonfuls, very disappointing. At the end of the day, I would never recommend this place, until they give better proportions with their food, and have better pricing. read more

Ate here with a group of 5. The service was friendly and they recently added a food menu. We each ordered a meal and a fried pickles app. Cozy atmosphere as we waited for a food to be prepared. They had music playing but it wasn't overly loud like some places can be. First and only visit so far was back in the summer. We had to wait awhile before a waitress arrived and there was only 1 other party there. The drinks were good and they had a food truck. It is very nice inside but we chose to sit outside. The food from the truck was really good but we had to eat in the dark and use our cell phones to see because there were no lights on the patio due to the food truck guy using the outlet. We may try again later once they've had some time to work the kinks out. read more

Arrived shortly after they opened this afternoon, the 8th of November 2018. Walking in, my husband, toddler and I were warmly welcomed by the bartender. After giving us a knowledgeable history of the region and moonshine, she introduced us to the newly established distillery. It just celebrated its one year anniversary and I'm sure it will earn serious business in the years to come. The distillery is located in an old garage that apparently used to store local moonshine underground when the garage was in operation. They have some gorgeous equipment on display that really add to the atmosphere and a comfortable side seating area with leather couches and a gas fireplace. With her help, we settled on a flight of some of the best liquor we have EVER had. Top shelf liquor doesn't hold a candle to what they make here. All of it is made in-house and much of it is apparently made by the owner himself, who happens to be a convicted moonshiner. We sampled the Corn, Rye, Apple Brandy and Bourbon. All were great and we purchased bottles of the Corn, Rye and Bourbon. I've never had a bourbon I've actually liked until now. These are all easy to drink and none had the burn so common in some of the popular brands. We also sampled some of their infusions; Apple Pie & Creamsicle (Amazing. Both made using the owners family recipes & taste Exactly like they should) as were our "tasters" of Hunny Bunny (started off with an almost peppery heat and finished with a smooth, clean honey flavor), Butterscotch (tastes just like the candy, with notes of maple syrup and brown sugar), Banana (I didn't think I would like this as I usually don't care for banana flavored things but it was delicious) & Blood Orange (a little sweet for me, but my husband loved it- smooth orange finish, mellow and not too citrusy). Funny because my hubby and I don't usually care for infused spirits, these were delightful- fully flavored, yet not too overpowering or heady and went down almost too easy. I am honestly sad we don't live in the area as I would make this my local watering hole. I would seriously adopt the bartender as well. From her top knot pigtails and her easygoing attitude; she was not only cool, she was loads of fun to talk to, she took great care of us and even doted on our little one. We will be back. I plan on insisting our local ABC carry the FCD brand as I will buy it often. I wish the infused flavors could be bottled and purchased as well, hopefully they can arrange that in the near future. It is a fantastic bar with some incredible spirits. I was honestly surprised they have only been open a short time. The brand is well thought out and incredibly crafted. I highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area or visiting. There is some riveting history in this region, adding moonshine to the equation just makes it tasty and fun. read more
