DO NOT GO HERE. I would give zero stars if Yelp allowed it. I brought my car in for an inspection and was told there was a serious safety issue that could potentially be dangerous. Despite that warning, I was offered to leave the lot with the vehicle... and When I picked up the car the following day, I specifically asked whether the vehicle was safe and whether everything had been taken care of. I was told yes. I trusted that answer and paid the bill for $2,900. Unfortunately, the problems with this experience didn't end there. My car was returned to me with a rejection sticky, dirty with oil hand prints on the outside and with an oily/greasy mess inside the vehicle. The interior was left in a condition where I now feel I need to pay for a professional detailing just to get my own car back to an acceptable condition. There were also basic services I expected to be completed that were not. My gas tank was not even half filled, and an oil change not performed. If im paying $3 grand come on... Instead, I was left with a dirty, oily interior that needs detailing and serious questions about the safety of my vehicle. My recommendation to anyone using this business: DO NOT GO HERE. read more

** warning** We went there to get a inspection sticker and we were failed because the emergency break would not hold, The service guy said bring it back tomorrow morning and I'll take care of you. We were then told that additionally we need suspension and break work to a total of $1200. When we explained we were going to bring it somewhere else to have it fixed , they were not happy. The next time we started the car it started misfiring and all the check engine lights came on. Was determined when we brought to our mechanic that this Franklin shop threw something in the gas tank. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SWINDLED!!!! Whoever this Lori I person is, she is definitely related to or friends with the owners. It's the only good review in the past 4 years. Like many others, I went there for my inspection. They said they could get me in right away, which they did, and now I know it's because Lori probably didn't need anything done that day because no one else would go there. I should have looked at reviews, but I was already a month overdue and really in a bind. Of course they found something "wrong" and tried to bully me into replacing the part there. I don't know anything about cars but felt like I was being taken advantage of because they were being so aggressive and even tried to convince me that I wouldn't be safe driving home to try to get me to do the work there. When I finally got out of there, I went to another shop to get a second opinion, and what do you know, they told me it would need to be replaced soon but it was fine for now. They passed my inspection and I spent $70 (for 2 inspections) that day instead of the $1000 these swindlers wanted to charge me. Thank God I trusted my gut. read more

Charged me $90 to remove the splash guard, that was falling off, from the bottom of my car. Something that literally took him less than a minute to do. When I protested he said they charge a minimum of $90 to bring it into the garage and that I should have asked how much it would cost before. read more

Best auto service we have ever been to. My husband and I have been going to Franklin Gas & Autocare for at least 10 years. For auto repairs, oil changes and inspections. And now my son goes also, and my daughter will be going soon. Sam & Emilio are great guys and they are great mechanics. We have some old cars and they always correctly diagnose and fix the problem. We trust them 100% and have peace of mind knowing that they are taking care of our family's safety on the road. They are the fastest and most efficient mechanics we have ever been to. And they are honest, we have never been charged for work that didn't need to be done. Their prices can't be beat. We are thankful we found Franklin Gas & Autocare. read more

Simply horrendous experience. Terrible customer service and terrible experience. I have a wife who just had a C-section, a 1-year old, and an infant at home so I needed a quick inspection and oil change so I could get back home. I called and explained this and they said it would be 10 minutes, 20 tops. Instead, they kept me waiting for over 90 MINUTES! There was never a word of explanation or apology. Finally after an hour I asked what was going on and how long it would be. I'm still not exactly sure what the explanation was. I think it was due to the fact that I got an oil change and inspection (never mind this is what I said on the call) so apparently each of those by themselves are quick, but together for some reason take an hour and half. I will never go here again and would strongly recommend that anyone reading this find another service center. read more

This a great place to go for gas. They are always among the cheapest in town and they pump it for you. In some ways an unusual place in that it is gas and auto service, not a convenience store. This is also a great place to get an inspection sticker. You don't need an appointment and they are very efficient. read more

I went for a simple inspection but had an EVAP check engine light I knew of. I asked if they'd clear the code while issuing a rejection sticker. If the code returned, I'd have it repaired. I suspected it was a loose gas gap as has been the case many times in the past. They said they would clear the code. 5 minutes after the inspection before I got into my car I checked to see if the code was cleared. They did not clear the code. I reminded them they JUST agreed to clear the code but they still refused to do it. They said they'd rather charge me a diagnostic fee to clear the code. Regardless of the issue w/ my car, I will not return there, ever, on the simple principle that they did not keep their word. If they cannot keep their word for something simple, why would I trust them for something larger? Forget it. read more

I was told by a mechanic friend that I needed struts and shocks due to a rattling noise that I hear when I drive my car on the highway. Being a Franklin resident and supporting local businesses, I brought my car to Franklin Gas & Autocare at 71 East Central Street in Franklin on June 4. I asked them to give me an estimate for the repair. The estimate for the repair was $700.00. Yes, that is a lot of money but I knew that I had to get the car fixed. I asked for a written estimate but they would not write anything down for me. I brought the car to Goodyear and asked for an estimate for the same repair. They didn't look at my car. They just gave me the price for the repair work. It was the same price as Franklin Gas & Autocenter. I was still not satisfied with a high price for my repair work. I brought my car to the new Midas near Wendy's on Route 140. Matt and another mechanic looked at my struts and shocks. He then took my car for a test drive on the highway. A few minutes later, he returned. He told me that I didn't need shocks and struts. As a matter of fact, he told me that my car's shocks and struts are in excellent condition. The rattling noise was caused by the hood being uneven with the driver side fender. When a hood is uneven, air gets under the hood and causes a rattling noise at high speeds. Matt at Midas could have tried to sell me something that I didn't need like Franklin Gas & Autocare, but he took the high road and was honest with me about the problem. Just because he was honest and helpful explaining the problem, I will refer my friends and family to Midas in Franklin. Of course, I will patronize Midas thanks to Matt's honesty and knowledge. And because Franklin Gas & Autocare tried to sell me something that I didn't need, I will not even fill my car up with gas or even get my car inspected there! A few things can be learned from this experience. The first lesson is to get more than one estimate for any car repairs. The second lesson is to be a smart consumer and ask for an explanation of the reason(s) for the repair work. The third lesson is to stay away from shady businesses. Another lesson learned is to listen to your instinct. My instinct told me that Franklin Gas & Autocare was not being honest with me. I listened to that instinct and I was right. Franklin Gas & Autocare should be ashamed of themselves for trying to rip off a customer! It is a good thing that I am a smart shopper and do my homework before I make a major purchase. Stay away from this business! Don't support them even with buying gas! Shame on them for taking advantage of customers! read more

Ripped me off. I took my car here to get inspected and they failed me for my suspension. I brought it back the next day and they said my front passenger side wheel bearing was bad. They took me out to the garage and showed me how the front passenger side wheel wobbled while the car was up on the lift. I said ok fix it no problem. 2 months later I take my car to Jiffy for an oil change and rotation. They jack the car up and surprise! The same wheel wobbled just like before. I bring it back to them and they said it was the drivers side originally and that was the one they replaced which was a complete lie. I believe they replaced the drivers side bearing but I specifically remember looking at the passengers side wheel from under the car while it was up on the lift when I got the job done in the first place. So now I have been driving on the same bad bearing for the last 2 months thinking it was fine and still have to get it fixed. Somewhere else. Also, when I took my car for an inspection the guy tried to fail me because my bumper was dented. "It's too much damage." he said. Says who? It's cosmetic. But guess what? They just so happen to do body work as well and would be happy to replace it. When they "took care" of my wheel bearing the dented bumper was no longer an issue. as long as they got something out of me I guess.... Stay away!! They are crooks!! read more

I recently moved to this area and my son brought my car to this service center for an oil change, they completed this quickly and reasonably. When I returned the next day to ask some questions about the service and an issue I was experiencing now, the Owner (Sam) was berating another client and yelling/cursing at him. I was next in line and asked a few questions about what was done to my car (since I was not there and wanted to understand better). Sam immediately started yelling at me and blaming me for something I wasn't even asking about. I tried to clarify but he only yelled louder. I have never been treated like this as a paying customer at any type of establishment. I read the other reviews and they may be fast for inspections and may be friendly at the pump (the main guy overseeing the pumps and service is great!) but if you want auto service be warned, Sam will make excuses for everything and treat customers as idiots. His response only amplifies as you try to understand what service you should expect. The price or time may be good but there is a reason for that, I had to redo my entire service at another place (Sunoco next door) in order to rectify the entire situation. read more

Bassam, While I appreciate you writing back to quickly - I did not need an education from you, in your response, about how the car works and my key fob...I actually already received that education, rudely, from the inspector. What I needed was for you to not just take your employees' word over mine. My husband was present and found this gentleman to be condescending toward me as well. My misunderstanding about my brand new car was not a reason for your employee to be rude and impatient. Other reputable businessmen would take the time to explain it and use the opportunity to teach me, politely. You are incorrect in your information - there was no cashier - in fact, there was no register, no receipt, and no professionalism around the transaction. The inspector pulled a large wad of cash out of his pocket and asked me for money. I don't know who this "cashier" is that you speak of - the contact that day was with the inspector. There was a man there poorly painting the ceiling to the shop, but we did not interact with him. There was also a gentleman who pulled my car out of the garage and as we approached him he said "Good luck with it". I wish you hadn't taken this opportunity to defend your staff and assume your employees are correct. I am in upper management myself and have taught many employees about customer service. Your response solidifies, for me, that we will not be coming back. Feel free to respond to this if you wish, but this will be my last communication. I know what happened in the shop that day and have shared it here on Yelp to help others with their decision. Price gouging!! and you are a sitting duck if you are young and a woman. Charged nearly THREE TIMES to my daughter what it generally costs for a general repair. I should've gone with her, I thought a local garage would not be low enough to take advantage of a young girl, but I was grossly mistaken. I always fill up here and get all my service done. The owner/employees are friendly and all I've had are good experiences with them. The mechanics know what they're doing and I completely trust them whenever work on my car is done. I've always noticed that the gas prices are usually the cheapest around me which is great also! So I don't think I'll be switching up stations any time soon!! read more

When I have an issue they are more then willing to take my car right in for service and there repairs are priced very fairly. We thought the owner of this station was an honest man boy were we wrong. He sold my 19 year old daughter a car she paid him cash he did not give any receipt with his name on it. When we got the title it was a reconstructive title which means the car was junk. She hit a tree and the air bags did not go off but he put a inspection sticker on this piece of crap!!!
