Equally as wonderful was the food. I had the French toast and biscuits & gravy. Both were great. Biscuits were moist but resisted becoming soggy from homestyle sausage gravy, which was one of best I've ever had. The sausage gravy was perfectly seasoned with chunks of delicious pork sausage. The consistency was also perfectly smooth without being clumpy, over floured or oily. The French toast was also phenomenal. Frank's Diner has a unique atmosphere, with countertop seating as well as booths located inside the railcar. We arrived on a Friday morning before we had to get to the airport. There was a 30 minute wait when we arrived, but the place got busier after that. Service is quick and there is complimentary coffee and water as you wait. Right about 30 minutes, our names were called and we were seated at the counter. We had already perused the menu so we ordered our breakfasts. I had the eggs with sausage, which also comes with a heaping side of hash browns and your choice of bread. I chose wheat toast. You can also choose to have your hash browns covered in gravy - yes please! My husband had the country Benedict. The food is plentiful and the service is prompt and efficient. My 32 year old husband was carded here and then wrongly accused of tampering with his valid Washington State ID. Even after confirming the ID was real, the manager defended the accusation instead of apologizing. No accountability and no customer service skills. First off this place is by the cutest train car diner I've ever experienced. I really felt like I should've been dressed back in late 1900's attire. They kept the dining car up its original appearance which was darling. When we checked in for breakfast we were told it would be a 25-35 minute wait but it was actually about 15. Our service was quick and they were always prompt in asking if we needed anything. The food was great and prepared just the way we asked. My omelette was beautiful golden and folded so delicately I didn't want to cut into it. But hungry got the best of me. It was light and fluffy and just melted in my mouth. It was a 10 out of 10. My family and I absolutely loved this breakfast caboose! If you're coming for weekend brunch, expect a wait of 45 mins but let me tell you, SO worth it! Service is friendly and the food is even better! They have bar seating which gives it that old train feel, the booths have a glass museum style attraction right up beside it. It's a total vibe. I highly recommend the corned beef hash with grilled onions. You won't regret it. They crisp up the corned beef to perfection and fry it with well done peppers and potatoes. Portion is huge also and one size of huge only as opposed to some other menu items. We also tried the cinnamon french toast and meatloaf benedict. Cinnamon French toast was pretty standard and the meatloaf tasted a little more on the impossible meat texture and flavor. Overall, this place is a solid 4.5/5. Today 11/16/24, my daughter and I had a breakfast date and a brilliant idea to try Frank's Diner for the first time together. We both have been wanting to try this diner for a while now. We started with hot coffee and creamer. We ordered the Wyoming Elk Steak came with hash browns, two eggs with toast. We selected sourdough. Cost was $23.00. We requested no onions as my daughter dislikes it. However, there were raw onions in the steak that was made into a patty style. I can eat cooked onions but not raw. This one was a deal breaker. We also ordered a side of Belgium waffle $12.00 ouch!! (Made with the real malted whole egg batter). It was light and airy just how we prefer it. However, the price for the waffle just does not justify ordering one. I didn't realize the price until my daughter paid the bill. Service was speedy and our server, Andrea was great. Overall, the food was good and flavorful. We'll have to return to try other items on the menu. read more

My friend and I went here on 6/3/2026 around 6:45 pm. Hope, our server was so polite, and willing to help us with our orders in any way, I just can't say enough about her, and Aaron the cook, knows how to cook your food just the way you like it. Second meal in Spokane, and it might have been our favorite. We're from the Midwest (two hours ahead), so when we woke up hungry at 5 AM on Saturday, we immediately started hunting for breakfast. Frank's opened at 6, so we wandered around for a bit and made our way there around 7. It was about a half-mile walk from our hotel (The Louie Spokane), and totally worth it. Walking through the doors felt like stepping into a proper greasy spoon--in the best possible way. It's an old railroad dining car turned full-service restaurant, and the charm is real. We were seated quickly at a cozy two-top booth. A little snug, but it fit the vibe. After a few minutes, we were greeted by a cheerful and energetic server (I think her name was Melissa?) who was super helpful answering our questions. We both ordered coffee. My wife got scrambled eggs with fried green tomatoes; I went with the Fiesta Veggie Scramble and a side of hash browns with gravy and grilled onions. My wife loved her fried green tomatoes. I really liked my scramble--although it was a bit spinach-heavy for my taste. Kind of a "want some eggs with your spinach?" situation. Still tasty, just not perfectly balanced. The hash browns were solid, though the gravy was a little odd for me. Could be a personal taste thing. That said--and this is important--we truly loved our visit. What the food slightly missed, the atmosphere and service more than made up for. It's one of those places that sparks ideas and daydreams. We even joked about how fun it would be to open something like this back home. If we lived in Spokane, we'd be regulars. Another excellent visit to Frank's Diner in Spokane, as we were in town for the NCAA BB tournament. Yes, there was an hour and a half wait to get in, but that was okay. The food was perfect. Our daughter and I had the Classic Eggs Benedict and it was incredible. So good. My wife had the Snoqualmie Falls Oatmeal and she loved it. The only reason that it is not 5 stars is the lack of service and greeting upon being sat. The table next to us also experienced the same issue. It was at least 10-15 minutes until Celeste took our order, (and I don't think she was our scheduled server). She was great. Wow... franks was incredible... We had an overnight in Spokane and wanted to grab breakfast before the road. We did have a wait, but it was well worth it. The diner is in an old train car, so space is limited. The staff were all incredibly nice and welcoming. Well, if the ambiance and warm welcome didn't say enough, the food certainly spoke for itself. I came to Frank's Diner for the second time. Wow second time that I had an amazing experience. This restaurant is inside of a train, or the building has a shape of the train lol. Loved the decoration and how they organized this place. Their menu has 2 pages with a lot of yummy options. Today, I tried the Jalapeño Bacon Burger and I the Hawaiian burger as well accompanied by bottomless Lemonade. Both of their burgers were delish, but I did prefer the Hawaiian, which it is a chicken burger with pineapple and cheese. It was so yummy and you don't feel so full with that. I had a pup with me, so I sat outside on a nice September day, but there's no table service so I had to order via phone and have it delivered to me in paper cartons outside. I asked if I could get regular stone wear plates, but they indicated that it would have to be boxed which wasn't ideal (especially eating a chicken fried steak with plastic knife and fork). The steak was alright but could have used some seasonings, and the gravy was very non-descript - a bit bland. The rye toast was delicious and the hashbrowns and eggs were exceptional. Overall, I love the setting (though I didn't get to go in and check out the train car) but I got the benefit of a loud freight train going by, so it delivered on the train theme. ;) I'd like to try it when I can go in and sit down properly, but I probably wouldn't order the CFS again. read more

Two travelers hungry after a very early flight stumbled upon this repurposed rail car. It was like walking into Shangrila, where time stood still amidst the heady aroma of pancakes, sausage & bacon. A hive of activity where waitresses & cooks delivered upon the weary traveler the most wonderful of meals. The coffee was applied generously as were the cheerful smiles if the staff. The food was great with ample portions. The staff was efficient, friendly & service was lively. The traincar was spotless, comfortable & inviting. Free (BOMB) coffee outside while you wait, trains passing by, the inside feels like you've transported into a 1950's rail car with better food and less racism. The food was so good, the deviled eggs were stellar. The caprese benedict seems weird, but it really just goes. The green tomato gives that texture you're looking for. The service was kind and quick once we got seated! And again, coffee made the wait worth it. Note: not great for big groups! I'd say a 4 person group is the most comfortable maximum.
