This CVS pharmacy in particular is the WORST one I have ever been to. The ladies there are extremely rude and very unprofessional. I had someone placing and picking up orders under my name and they said I had to call customer service. They would not even put a note in my account to check my ID before releasing medications. They were rude to the customers in front of me and they were rude to me. I will be calling customer service to leave a more detailed review on them because that is how disgusting their behavior is. Mind you, not all CVS Pharmacy's are bad. The workers at the Monterey CVS pharmacy are extremely respectful and kind. Cooperate, please check on this CVS. A lot of work needs to be done. read more

For a CVS it was actually a really good experience even though they're very small and have very limited stuff. They're super friendly and their pharmacist are very nice too. This place is fine. Small and packed because it is technically a mini-CVS. I pick up prescriptions for my mom and dad here. Never worse than anywhere else. My dad has lots of meds. I go here for other meds too when we have a cold or whatnot. The area is full of rich pretentious people who expect everything to be Gucci. Prices are good and plenty of parking. read more

The WORST pharmacy ever to get prescription medication. Meds NEVER ready when promised (pharmacy staff told me I need to come in and check and not rely on what the CVS recording tells me!), they bypassed charging my insurance and when I inquired they told me it was too late and the pharmacist raised her voice at me. The pharmacy staff has gone down hill! The staff lacks customer service which is sad since it used to have a real small town we care about our customers until recently. I picked up a standing prescription from this pharmacy, not a cheap one, $115.00. When I got outside I saw that is was the incorrect dose from an older prescription. I know they had the new prescription because I had picked it up the last time. So I took it back in and asked them to refund or exchange for the correct one. The bag was still stapled, all the boxes were inside and it had been just a few minutes. They refused. So I was left with $115 worth of medicine I could not use and would have to dispose which will end up in the land fill. The guy said doctors don't inform them when they have replaced a script with a new dose. So, does that mean if it was for an opioid you would have dispersed twice to me at different doses? It is BS and incompetent. They should have seen the last time that medicine was filled was a different dose. Anyway, I have transferred that to another pharmacy and CVS will not get my business again. This was the 3rd time I have had issues with the pharmacy. The first time was a pain med for my son that was shorted 20 pills. I will not give them my business again. read more

I've been coming to this CVS for over 8 years...and seen it change over the years, including employees. I usually come during the week - very welcoming employees.... so weekends are rare for me....but had to pickup meds for family. I also had to buy 3-4 items. I walked up to the front and another customer was using the self-checkout and nobody else was waiting. The front end employee was standing near the door and saw me but choose to look outside rather then just ring me up at the two open registers - okay whatever. When the other customer was done with self-checkout...the employee rushed over as I approached the self-checkout, & before I could do anything proceed to teach me the self-checkout..I kindly made it clear I knew how to operate the system...okay so great we are required to know how to do self checkout but how about observing first if the customers know what they are doing...or even better offer to check out waiting customers. Or maybe I am wrong and the person was ONLY allowed to play the role of security only...and if this is the case, just take out one of those registers and put in another self-checkout....if self checkout is more important. read more

I needed to get a COVID test for a family member and called several places. I could not get around the CVS answering machine to talk to a real human, but the answering machine said that they had the COVID test IN STOCK. So I drove over and was stunned to see a sign in the door saying,"We don't have any COVID tests in stock." So I decided not to just let this one go. Finding a COVID test is pretty important and they were advertising that they had them. I stood in line until my turn and told the first person that their answering machine said they DID have them. He said that they had no control over what the messages said. Then a second person behind the counter spoke up and said that actually, that was because they had some for their own employees. Wow, both of those answers suck. They should not count any COVID tests that are only available to their staff as "in stock" since they're not actually available to the public. But the other response, "We have no control over the messages." Really?? They can't change their message??? I wasn't calling the corporate office. I called the local number. SOOO lame. read more

I was a custumor there for 10 years and watched the place completely disintigrate fom a good solid reliable pharmacy to an absolute disaster. First there were constant staff turnovers in the pharmacy. Good staff seemed to only last a few months and then move on. The pharmacy became increasingly unreliable and were not filling my prescriptions on time consistenly, long term perscriptions would be over a week late. To make matters worse the pharmacy staff became increasingly rude and hectic so it was difficult to communicate with them about simple issues. The last time I was there, customers were yelling at the staff and the staff was yelling back. By the time it was my turn, my prescription that was over a week late had been cancelled and the pharmacist was still going on about the yelling customer so it was hard to clarify my issue. I sat down to wait and then the manager approached me and was hostile and threatening, total fight or flight scenario. After 10 years, i left that place. I will never go back there. My new pharmacy has been trying to get them to transfer my perscriptions to the new place and they are just not doing it so I am getting all new perscriptions done. Do not reccomend. read more

Boy if you want to be yelled at by the pharmacist in the back thinking he is all that this is the place for you! I had a question if I signed up for the right Covid booster and he was so bothered by my question when he was trying to explain/ yell it to me his face was turning red, Between him and the woman that was not willing to even try to help me I ended up canceling my appointments for myself and my two kids. I feel sorry for all the seniors that go into this place because they will be completely attacked for having a question. I called and talked to Jeff the manager he confirmed that the way I got treated was not OK he apologized numerous times. read more

I have a great experience with this pharmacy! I got my prescriptions as needed, no issues. O also been with other pharmacies in the past, and CVS was the best so far. Knowing very well the local population in Aptos, I believe that some (not all) of the reviews are more because of the hate that some locals have here against anything which is not a small business. Check reviews in Aptos, and you'll find a pattern of almost all big companies get horrible reviews, while almost all small businesses getting a positive reviews, even extremely poorly managed small businesses! read more

Not a very professionally run pharmacy or organization. I rec'd a text message to make an appointment for a flu shot earlier today. I tapped the link, entered in DOB, and answered several pages of questions, then made an appointment at this pharmacy for later the same day. Then received several texts from CVS reminding me of the appointment. Upon arrival, I was informed that they didn't have any of the shots I signed up for? I mentioned that was not good, and to my surprise, the person assisting me made no attempt to help, like maybe try and find a nearby location that had inventory..... I am a senior, which implies I am at high risk for COVID, so I limit my trips. Now, I must prepare for another trip, not good!!!! Doubtful that I will remain a CVS customer...... read more

This pharmacy is very good. I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews. The wait times are reasonable if YOU can plan ahead. It's not fast food...it takes time and diligence to ensure we get the correct meds. It can seem to be a bit short staffed at times, but that's not the fault of the folks working behind the counter. They're always courteous and polite. One time I had a script that wasn't covered by insurance and they proactively applied a coupon. They didn't have to do that. I'd have been none the wiser. This review is related to COVID-19 vaccinations at the CVS in Aptos. Process was easy and on time. They had a separate check-in window for vaccines - and it was clearly marked. I took my daughter to a different pharmacy (different company) and stood in the main line for 20+ minutes to just check-in. Here, the appointment was on time, too. Wish there was a no star or negative star. I get notifications from my Dr he sent in prescription, then I get notified by my health insurance that it has been sent to CVS in Aptos on Rio Del Mar. I say great I will wait hoping that the pharmacy has filled it and notify me it's ready,a week later I go in and check some times they say oh yes we got it and we will now fill it for you Please wait. Most of the time they say no, we did not get it would you have your doctor call us. I show them on my phone the different notifications I have received and they don't care,they say have him call it in. This is the worst pharmacy I have ever had to deal with. Horrible customer service in pharmacy department to whomever answers the phone and says 'Please hold', in the most annoying tone of voice as if I'm bothering her and quickly puts me on hold. If you hate your job that much, quit! All I wanted was their fax number, she could have asked me if I could be put on hold like other businesses, doctors offices etc, but no she decided to just rudely put me oh hold, and kept me on hold for much longer than I needed to be just for a fax number. I've worked in the medical field, doctors offices for almost 20 years and NEVER answered the phone or put anyone on hold rudely like she did regardless of how many patients/customers waiting and or if I'm having a bad day. I will be reporting this to CVS corporation. Train your pharmacy staff some decent customer service please. read more

This is by the THE BEST CVS pharmacy ever. It's also one of the smallest, but that doesn't stop the pharmacists and the techs from going above and beyond for their patients. My prescription is always done on time and waiting for me. If for some reason it isn't done, or an insurance issue came up, they always put me at the front of the line and get it out to me as quick as possible. I've also been there when so very rude patients are there and they are so nice even though they are constantly getting yelled at by rich entitled snobs that think the world should cater to their every whim. It's actually quite comical if you catch of them. It's so ridiculous. One woman even complained that she had to wait two minutes and thirty seconds for someone to help her. How stupid. But these are the people they deal with every day and still put a smile on their faces! I'm sure they are short staffed most of the time and work 12 hour days and just want to go home to their families but they choose to stay and take are of yours. Best pharmacy in the area. read more

Terrible service. My dr sent three prescriptions over and I got an automated call that two were ready but the third they didn't have and would recall my doctor. I never heard anything back after that. My wife went in twice inquiring about it since I was out of town. Both times they said it wasn't ready and they didn't have it and were rude to her. I called 2 weeks after it was sent and spoke to a female over the phone. She did not care about my issue and kept interrupting me when I would speak. She said they never received a third prescription and the robo-call must have been a mistake. Moving my medications to Safeway. Super unprofessional and not helpful. Would not recommend. read more

I changed pharmacies due to the incompetence of the staff and the crappiness of the pharmacy design. There's no indication of where a line should form. All it would take is one of those signs that says "Stand here", but no. People mill around haphazardly and then get mad because no one knows who's next in line. I put in my rx, then sat down and pointedly looked at my phone, playing Sudoku. 3 people asked me if I was in line. NO, THERE IS NO LINE. IT'S CHAOS. I can't open child-proof bottles. This should be noted in my file. I tell people often. Sometimes, they hand me bottles with child-proof caps and I immediately hand them back. The last time I went there, and the last time I will ever go there, I got the wrong cap, didn't notice, called to complain and was told that I should just check them every time. NO. I made an appointment online to get a flu shot. I show up and wait in line. They told me 5 people were in front of me and it would take 15 mins. Ok so I wait and watched as 8 people get their shots and 40 mins pass. I went back and asked what was going on and was told I was next. 3 of these people came after me! And I heard no one say they had an appointment. 20 mins later they call my name. It was an hour wait even with an appointment. It doesn't matter if you have an appointment or not they don't care. The pharmacy seems super unorganized and unprofessional from what I saw for the hour I waited my turn. Never will I go back to this store. read more

Worst management and pharmacy ever. They make mistakes and then get angry at you for trying to make sense of what is going on. Store manager is nasty and unprofessional. He is rude and could careless if you have a problem or not. I will never shop or step foot into this CVS or any CVS for that matter. I will also be sure to tell everyone about the horrible serve I receive while shopping there. In the Deer Park CVS the customer is always wrong. With so many options to choose from in this county, they should care a little bit more, than they do.
