My husband and I came in last night around 7:30 and had one of the best meals we've had in a long time! I hate that I didn't take pictures of the food because everything was absolutely amazing. We used to come here every Sunday when my dad was still alive, and honestly, some places were just hard to return to after he passed. I hate that we stopped coming because this visit reminded me exactly why we loved it so much. I know we will definitely be adding Frank's back into our regular rotation. The food was fabulous from start to finish. We had the mushrooms in au jus and cheese for an appetizer, absolutely incredible. We also tried the crispy Brussels sprouts, which are not regularly on the menu but absolutely SHOULD be! By far some of the best Brussels sprouts I've ever had. Please add these to the permanent menu! For our entrees, we both had the chopped sirloin steak, and both were cooked to perfection. The baked potato and green beans were also amazing, well seasoned and full of flavor. And let me tell you about the service, absolutely some of the best we've had in a long time. We were greeted as soon as we walked in by the sweetest gentleman. They were busy, but the wait was short and honestly didn't bother us at all because he was so friendly and easy to talk to while we waited. Our waitress was FANTASTIC! She checked on us regularly, offered refills before we even had to ask, and had the best sense of humor. She had us both cracking up and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We ate here over 30 years ago but didn't realize that until we arrived. We were hopeful. It's in an area with not many sit down family restaurants. The restaurant is big with multiple party rooms. It was clean. The staff were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable about the menu, and attentive. The place wasn't crowded, and you could tell that there were a lot of regular customers. The food was ok. The pimento cheese and bacon burger and the pimento cheese and bacon chicken sandwich were both good and would probably be my recommendation. The cole slaw had some sweetness to it, but also had a tartar sauce aftertaste. Most of the people in my group said that the food lacked seasoning. We were told that a fresh or frozen burger patty was determined by the type of burger you ordered. read more

For some reason, it takes 25 minutes to run a credit card at this place. This has happened all three times I visited. Owner seems more interested in making small talk than waiting on customers. Wings were barely warm by the time I got home. Will not be back. Disappointed. read more

I was really looking forward to eating here. I had convinced my companion to trying it. The staff was nice; the service was fair; the food was overcooked in our opinion. The hushpuppies were a very dark brown although edible inside. My side salad was lettuce, a pepper and another item I don't remember. My companion ordered a sweet potato as a side; it was very small (kind of like a fingerling potato would be). Our server looked at the meal when she passed by and asked how everything looked so I guessed it was normal. We aren't complainers on site most of the time unless it is absolutely inedible. If you're looking for a Mom and Pop meat and 3 plus more, Franks is it!! Locally owned for over 50 years. Service Is great, and most anything you want to eat, from burgers, pizza, Italian or seafood, they have it. Prepare to wait on weekends or a night when they run a special, but it is worth it. read more

Went here this past weekend with family and friends. I ordered the Saturday special which was NY Strip with 2 sides for $28. While the service was great the food is mediocre. The steak had no taste and had a good bit of gristle on it. Not what I expect for that price. This place has been around for a number of years and could use an update from the dark paneled walls and the globe lights in the ceiling. They remodeled the Bar area into a Sports Bar and it has been slowly slipping away ever since. BUBBA STEAK ---Gone,.. replaced By ??? Long time Waitress'es Gone??? But the straw that Broke the Camel's back was the poor Excuse for their Delish DEEP FRIED MUSHROOMS!!! GONE!!! And Replaced with a small handful of LITTLE Mushroom caps and stems...IT WAS PITIFUL! I ordered two (2) baskets because they are so Damn Good and what did I receive to sad little baskets TRAGIC! they were the reason to keep coming to FRANK'S at all!! My family came in here for dinner Saturday night. A Saturday in the restaurant business should be one of your busiest nights. This place was dead. We were sat, and I went to check out the salad bar. Wilted brown lettuce greeted me. Half of the other stuff was mixed together from people grabbing and spilling their food into other food. It all looked gross, old, and frankly not worth the $8.99 they were charging for it. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with a side of steamed broccoli. They came together in the same basket, which led to a soggy sandwich bun. Very disappointing. My wife got chicken parm, and while I will say the chicken was good, the sauce and the pasta were bland and wasn't worth the calories to consume it. Atmosphere wise, it feels a bit run down. The menu states they have been serving food since 1970-something, and I'm fairly certain nothing has been updated since then. The one glimmer of hope for this place is the wait staff. The waitresses are great. Very friendly. Tear the place down and rebuild, but keep your staff. (Maybe replace the cooks) read more

This was a really good restaurant a VERY long time ago. Once the patriarch of the family passed away, it went down hill and has hit the skids. There have been no updates in the decor since the 70's. When you go into the place, it reeks of stale smells and you feel like you are entering a filthy, dirty place. The food is stale and boring. They used to have an all you can eat seafood night every weekend. They need to bring this back. The children are living off the fathers legacy but the patriarch was a good businessman and cared about the restaurant and the customers. The children (owners) are apathetic. Do us all a favor and close this disgusting place down. I wish I could give zero stars. The owners don't care enough to read these reviews anyway. But, if any of the public are interested, go somewhere else where you can get fresh food instead of food out of a can. Just gross. read more

Good place to eat out in the middle of nowhere. For the best service ask for Heather. The burgers here are good and very reasonably priced. Franks has a little bit of everything such as spaghetti, seafood, steaks, pizza and a salad bar but doesn't really have one thing they specialize in. I've been coming here for over 10 years now, and I've never had a bad meal while at Frank's. Their jumbo burgers are the best in town, and their Italian food and pizzas are excellent. I'm not a seafood eater, but my mom loves their catfish and fried shrimp! They take a lot pride in both their food and service, and the owners, wait staff, and cooks are wonderful people. I live close to frank's and it is a fairly ok place to eat, I have eaten there several times, but by no means am I a regular... I guess if I were I'd get prefered service, as I have witnessed (regulars) getting on several occasions. Food is of good quality and and has something for everybody, most basic foods covered... Nothing flashy or to inventive. Covering most price ranges from $ sandwich plates to $$$$ dinners. Most items I've had were a little Overcooked, always make sure to tell the waitress your preferences.very country boy atmosphere... I'm a regular at Frank's. My favorite appetizer is the potato skins. They are better than you will find at any restaurant anywhere. I have hosted and attended large and small parties here and some of their private dining rooms. They have sandwich baskets and many other choices for a small appetite or dinner on a budget. The restaurant is owned by family, and someone from the family is there all the time. Recently that begin being open for Saturday lunch, in addition to Sunday lunch. We recently moved here to the lake. There are VERY few options and we were excited to have Franks so close. Beyond disappointed! Everything seems to be fried and they overcook it. Prices make zero sense! $5.00 for a cheeseburger and fries (also overlooked), but $9 for a very small salad bar. Zero healthy options. Very run down.
