This used to be a great place to dine. Not anymore. If you don't mind sharing your food with flies, then this is the place for you.

The hostess was right there, friendly and ready to seat us either inside or outside. We chose the covered, shaded patio with views of the water, and it was perfect. The whole place is decorated with lots of local art, which gives it this relaxed, cultured, artsy vibe that just feels good. It's the kind of atmosphere that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. My daughter ordered the chicken quesadillas and I went with a classic BLT and fries. Everything was delicious... fresh, well-prepared, and satisfying. I also couldn't resist trying their pineapple jalapeño margarita after seeing one on another table. It looked (and tasted) amazing. I'm not much of a drinker so I only had a few sips, but those few sips were worth it. The staff was attentive without being overbearing. We'll definitely be coming back with the whole family. Highly recommend if you're looking for a cute, low-key waterfront spot with good food and a lovely setting.

Also visited the Silver dolphin with my children, for Mother's Day and on St. Patrick's Day. The silver dolphin never disappoints. Hernando Beach restaurant that frequently has a short wait for seating... but is 100% worth the wait! Staff are small-town friendly and feels like home. While you wait, there is a large gift shop to peruse with decent pricing from local artists. Weather permitting, ask for seating outside. But if they are really full, the indoor seating is almost as nice (plus it has air-conditioning). Weekend specials on certain beverages, so early birds always save more money. We had the fish tacos, shrimp, tacos, watermelon Mojito, and steak sub. The fish tacos were divine and my daughter loved the shrimp tacos as well. Breakfast platters are healthy portions and also didn't disappoint. If you get there early, they have weekend mimosa and Bloody Mary specials (BOGO). Our favorite person was an elderly woman that cleans up the dishes. So incredibly sweet, kind and personable. Staff is very efficient, friendly, and food arrives rather quickly... along with beverages. Great view overlooking a canal, small deck on canal, complete with view of snapping turtles, cool breeze, shade, and areas to take pictures (dock, mermaid statues, dolphin statue, florida signage, etc.) We will definitely be back (again)!

Driving by it looks like nothing, inside is a large seating area, a bar area and then doors to go to the outside where on the weekends at least there's live music. I took a step outside to get a picture of the pizza oven, what a beauty! I did not know it was the owner, but I asked the guy if I could grab a picture of it and in an Italian accent, he said get a picture from over here you can see inside. Our waitress was very knowledgeable, friendly and fast, And she had some large tables. The pizza was absolutely delicious. I asked the waitress while looking at the menu, I saw that they said some homemade pasta. She told me that they make all their pastas, breads, sauces, and pizza dough on site. We will have to come back and try some other meals, but the wood fired pizza was phenomenal. I had seen this place on the socials, and one time working my way back home when the expressway was shut down...I drove by it, and would've never noticed it if I hadn't known the name. The place is definitely doing the business, but you need to go. It is a hidden gem. One of the better pizzas in the drivable area for sure! The owners are from Italy, need I say anymore. Oh, I almost forgot that they have a nice selection of beers on draft. Seriously, reef donkey for five dollars. It only made the pizza that much better! And the sidenote when you get mushrooms on your pizza, you get a mixture of delicious mushrooms, all fresh, even shiitakes. The red peppers are freshly cut, and the onions are sautéed, which just adds another layer of flavor. And definitely when we go back I am getting some meatball sliders, cause we got meatballs on the one pizza and they were so delicious, just a tender flavorful hold together meatball but not dense! Well, done, my friends! You have a new loyal customer.

However, it is nice that this is conveniently located just off of US 19. That said, this is a great, quick bar type atmosphere with good food. They have a onion appetizer that is similar to the blooming onion at Steakhouse's. It is fabulous. They also have drink specials like a rocket pop during specific holidays and are quite tasty. Conveniently located behind steak 'n Shake in the Publix plaza. Indoor seating is air-conditioned and they have booths, which are nice when you're with family wanting conversation. Outdoor area is shaded and has a TV in a breeze (wish they'd clean up the trash in the retention pond because it takes away from this experience). Still, the food, selection, quality, and drinks special shells have brought us back on occasion.

Even though they were pretty busy at two in the afternoon we were seated promptly. We had a nice table by a window. Everything looked nice and clean at our table. Our waiter Chris came right away to get our beverage order. We always order their unsweetened iced tea with lemon. Very, good flavor, very fresh. You can order breakfast all day if that's your choice. Their menu choices are plentiful and varied. They did have a couple of new dishes for the holidays which looked enticing. I chose Cracker Barrel's Country Fried Steak with three sides. The steak was flavorful and tender. The portion size was ample. Fried to perfection and had plenty of their signature white Sawmill gravy. So delicious - a great treat. My sides were their Country Style Green Beans, Grits and Coleslaw. I don't know how they make their green beans but they taste great. I think they cook them with some bacon flavoring. Grits were fantastic as usual. I add extra butter to make them a creamy perfection. Their Coleslaw was my only slight disappointment - they lacked some seasoning for my taste buds. All in all another wonderful dining experience at a restaurant that embodies the welcoming country lifestyle. Their Country Store I could spend a fortune in is also part of the Cracker Barrel charm, I hope it never changes!
