    Gyro

The food options in Terminal 3, Concourse L are limited, but Gold Coast Dogs caught my eye. I got myself a gyro, which was tasty and quick. I chose fries for my side, but due to an anti-ketchup sign (only in Chicago!), I was afraid to request some. Thankfully, they included a few packets.

    Italian Beef with nacho cheese

I had the Italian Beef with cheese. I've never had this anywhere before. It felt like a cousin to the Philly Cheesesteak. However, the Philly Cheesesteak is better. The positives of the Italian Beef -- juicy, warm and brothy beef. The nacho cheese was fun and tasty. The negatives for me -- waaaay too many jalapenos. It overpowered the sandwich. I had to pick 'em out. The bread was so soggy. It's still worth trying. And the service here was fast and friendly.

Friendly service. Reasonable wait time and prices considering it's in an airport. Food was seasoned and cooked well. Something to note if you're a vegetarian/vegan and concerned about cross contamination - they cook the Impossible patty on the same grill as the regular meat.

Nothing beats a Chicago style hot dog when you need a quick bite. The toppings are the game changer and there's no such thing as a ketchup dog!

Service was polite and prompt. We got two breakfast bagel sandwiches, hot dog and gyro. Everything was very tasty. Solid spot at the airport for the family and myself!

Sonia was EXTREMELY RUDE AMD YELLED at my mom saying no one was gonna take her order because she was standing in the wrong side. There was no need to be rude she needs to be fired! She literally was yelling for no reason and so MAD. She was yelling at her in Spanish.

It has been some years since I have visited a Gold Coast Dogs location; it was a location near my college campus within downtown Chicago Illinois. This particular Gold Coast Dogs was one of the options conveniently located near my gate that had no excruciating long line. I ended up ordering an Egg & Cheese Bagel with a Ginger Ale prior to my flight from O'Hare International Airport - Chicago. The employee who assisted me took care of me in a timely manner at the register. And it took no more than five minutes for order to be completed. Prior to boarding my flight I enjoyed the Egg & Cheese Bagel; its taste was okay, and it fulfilled my hunger before flight. ~Blessings~ Thomas G

    Jumbo char Chicago dog

Jumbo Char Chicago dog is the way to go. Other items don't seem to be good. Comes with fries or chips for $8.49

Below par with other Chicago dogs; in part because the dog is charred, not boiled!
    Daniel B.

Slightly cheaper for airport food (bill for Chicago dog and fries) will run you a bit below ten bucks. But their version of Chicago Dog is incorrect! Chicago-style hot dogs are typically boiled. I've never eaten a charred Chicago dog. Yet Gold Coat charrs their dog. And even worse, the Charred dogs were not made to order! I'm giving this a 2/5 because at least the toppings and bun were correct, but c'mon! How can you call it a Chicago-style dog and have a charred dog? Fries were basic and way too salty.

    Chicago Dog served Chicago-style... delicious!

Layover in Chicago O'Hare so what do you do? Go grab a Chicago dog at Gold Coast Dogs in Terminal L. If you can't get out to Chicago this is truly the next best thing! I of course ordered it Chicago-style with peppers, mustard, pickle, tomato, etc. It came with a side of fresh fries and I grabbed an orange juice. Service was fast, friendly, and the dog was delicious!! They also had sausages, Italian beef sandwiches, and other offerings. Definitely worth the walk from G terminal over to L terminal. If you have the time treat yourself!! Safe travels!

Skip it. But get the chi dog for sure. Huge and filling.
    Jesika H.

Delicious! Came for the Chicago dog during my layover. So good I forgot to take a picture. It was around 6 bucks and it didn't even need ketchup. Their lines run QUICK and it's the cheapest item you'll probably find there. I did also have the chili cheese fries you should SKIIIIIIP. No bueno. Love this airport.

    Hot dog, fries, and drink

Picked up a Chicago dog, all the way with fries. Line moved VERY quickly, food was served up quickly too. Very typical Chicago style dog. A touch light on the relish. Sport pepper ratio was on point. Bonus points for grilling the hot dog. Fries were crispy despite looking undercooked. Slightly over salted. Reasonable price for an airport meal, I suppose. 6.3/10 quite respectable. I would return. Only two drawbacks: no pepsi products, and no seating.

Sadly we couldn't find a good hotdog place anywhere in Chicago. This place had no flavor in the meat and the bun was old. We also tried a hotdog truck downtown that wasn't good either. Chicago is supposed to be famous for their dogs and we went to 3 places that all disappointed us. Honestly we have better dog places here in Utah and I feel all weird saying that, but it is true.

    Chicago dog everything on it!

It's like a big food hall and you'll wait to get your order called to pick up your food. Utensils and condiments are in the stations so you'll have to get it yourself. Overall we enjoyed the food and experience. The hotdogs are good and my son finished 2 - I tried a few bites but I also loved my pasta - huge service for the price and I get to share it with my son as well. The chocolate cake is not too sweet but really decadent. Must try if you're visiting and staying in the River North area.

The sausage was good and the bread was soft. The dill pickle, tomato, and peppers tasted fresh and gave a crunch and acidity to the hot dog. - French fries: okay but it wasn't crispy.

It has that classic late night comfort food vibe and feels like one of those staple spots you have to try at least once. First night I ordered a polish hot dog with everything on it and a fish sandwich w/ extra grilled onions. Super cool that your order comes with fries and I added a cheese cup both times. In my opinion the fries were mid the first go around, but second time they were better. Definitely tasted better dipped in cheese. They were kinda airy in texture, if that makes sense. Polish hot dog was around a 6.5-7/10 for me. It did taste better warmed up the next day. What I was most obsessed with was the double cheeseburger and fish sandwich! both were easily a 10/10. Super good prices and worth the money. Also, the chile peppers were sooo bomb and hotter than I expected ! I wanted to eat them all, but they were packing some serious heat! The lemon Italian ice is where it's at, make sure to order one! You can also mix it with strawberry, but both times people recommended the lemon and now I see why. The line gets super active and busy past 10-11pm, but during the daytime it's way less crowded. Even when it gets packed the line moves pretty quick. They stay open late and close at 1am which is nice.

We were eating in our rental car in apx 10 min. It was cool to eat outside on a warm July night in a classic, 1950s style drive-in. The food was excellent, flavorful and fresh. I normally avoid krinkle cut fries because they are usually frozen and mushy or mealy. Not Superfries. These fresh cut fries were practically fried mashed potatoes. We loved them! The drinks were perfect. The Black Kows is basically a root beer float and served with an extra root beer "sidecar." Our only complaints were about errors with the garnishes. We specifically said we wanted all the garnishes on both dawgs and they only gave us the standard grilled onions on the Whoopskidawg and forgot the sport peppers on the Superdawg. A single dog with fries and a medium drink came out to about $9. While waiting, I loved watching their team work like a well-oiled machine behind the counter. Fresh hand-cut potatoes were dropping into the fryer, and the assembly crew was constantly building dogs and piling massive heaps of steaming fries on top. High output, fantastic energy! I even asked one of the prep guys if I could snap a picture, and he was super cool about it. The meal itself was awesome. The fries were piping hot, perfectly salted, and very generous in portion. Once I dug down to the dog, that first bite took me by complete surprise, the snap of the natural casing and the flavor were incredible.
