Best fried chicken I've ever had hands down. This is the type of chicken that makes you want to do backflips down I-95 with no shoes on. The skin is so crispy and flavorful and the chicken is very tender. Every time I eat the chicken from here I start doing Oklahoma drills with a brick wall. I don't know why I used to take 30 minute trips to Zaxbys when Frans has been local all this time. Their chicken is so good and doesn't taste processed or frozen. I would definitely reccomend. Better than Zaxbys, Hooks Fish and Chicken and Wingstop!. read more

My co worker and I were so excited to try this place out after seeing the reviews. We finally made a trip here and we were disappointed. If you love fried chicken you will LOVE this place!!! I know it's been a Boca restaurant forever but I feel it's even better now then it was 15 years ago ! The restaurant is a bit tiny but the food is huge in flavor and taste. I really don't know what the secret is but the outside of the fried chicken is super crunchy yet the inside is so moist , flavorful and delicious it's unbelievable ! Besides the fried chicken I have had the mashed potatoes which were yummy with the gravy , fries crispy and the corn nuggets ( creamy corn deep fried to perfection) are a fun tasty treat that you can't get everywhere. The guys who make the food and help the customers are so very friendly it feels like you are at a friends house! Can't say enough about this place. They have flavored wings and other chicken options like tenders but I can't help it once I walk in I have to have the fried chicken !!! One leg one breast side of corn nuggets = pure happiness and food coma. Thank you everyone at Frans!!! First off this is the best fried chicken and hot wings, I have had in South Florida. I'm from North Florida and this reminds me of home. The fried chicken was well seasoned and fresh. The cooks were a show onto themselves cracking jokes. The naked hot wings were cooked to order. They were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside as they should be. The fries were delicious. The Fran's sauce was amazing and the first chicken place that did not do the generic mayo and ketchup sauce. Plus they have proper sweet tea, thank you 8 pound 6 oz baby Jesus. Food was delicious. Ordered the chicken and waffles. I love Belgium waffles with my fried chicken. Chicken was very juicy and waffles were fluffy and delicious. Service was mehhhh and the silverware there were not too clean. Also, so many of the hot sauces bottles were empty so that was pretty inconvenient too. Loved this little hole in the wall. Went with a friend for lunch, they cook to order their chicken tenders so keep that in mind. They take a whopping 8 mins!!!! We got the 3 tender meal, which is plenty and was under $7 w/out a drink. Comes with fries and a little side of coleslaw. It was really, really good & we definitely did not finish it all! There's also a million condiments you can put on this--they have it all...ranch, honey mustard, ketchup, buffalo wing sauce, etc. Def would suggest if you have a hankering for fried chicken! read more

Update: Have eaten here a few more times with mostly misses on the chicken. Once it was cooked in the oil that they do the deserts in and the chicken tasted sweet and gross. We went back to give them one more chance and told them about The last experience and he basically did nothing for us and made up an excuse. I won't be eating here any more. I guess the first time was just a one time random chance of the chicken being good. Really disappointed in this place don't recommend them any more. read more

While doing some serious research for local, good fried chicken, I came across Fran's Chicken Haven. I wasn't disappointed! This place is a true hole in the wall, doesn't look like much from outside, but once inside, you are greeted by guys that truly care about their fried chicken craft! The inside also isn't much to look at - the tables and chairs are quite tight, and could use a little TLC, but the food is good so you sort of forget that it needs a little elbow grease. Plus, most patrons take their food out anyways. They have many options for different chicken dishes... chicken platters, chicken and waffles, etc., which are nice options to have. Also, they have awesome mashed potatoes that they offer for a small upcharge instead of French fries, which was a good addition. Overall, a good experience and we are eager to go back! read more

Three stars for the chicken. Four stars for service Three stars for price. Stopped in during lunch time and it wasn't busy, a few patrons enjoying their meals. The gentleman who seemed to be working alone was welcoming and attentive to both my order and the food which he was cooking. The prices were a bit higer than what I was expecting but he shared the lunch special and its what I ordered. Lunch special is a thigh, fries and a drink as well as a roll. At a little over $6 not too bad... overstimated how hungry I was and added onion rings at $3.50 an order to make my lunch bill just under $10. As soon as I walked into the office, the smell of the food enticed everyone there. Since the fries and onion rings are cooked when ordered they were still hot and tasty. Didn't like the chicken too much: it did seem a bit salty and was just okay. However, they have been around since 1964 so I will unlikely check them out another day to give it one more shot! read more

The people working were very friendly had smiles on their faces and we're happy to be there. They were quick to explain the menu and quick to get my order together. Wanted to try out a local mom n pop restaurant for lunch so I looked up some spots on Yelp. I found this lovely gem. Fran's is a small, warm, and friendly restaurant. I knew once I walked in a smelled the aroma of freshly fried food I was in the right place. Now if you're looking for healthy options or vegan dishes this isn't the place for you. I ordered the 4 wings combo, which comes with fries, coke slaw, and a roll. I also ordered a small thing of gizzards. The chicken was hot, fresh, and delicious. It had just enough crunch and was tender. The portions were large and filling. The gizzards has a slight sweet tastes to them which was different than I'm used to but good none the less. My boyfriend ordered 10 mango habanero wings breaded. You have the option for breaded or naked when you order just wings. He enjoyed the wings and said they had enough spice and were large in size. STAFF DOESN'T WEAR MASKS Neither the guy at the counter nor the guy in the back (he came out while i was there) had a mask. There wasn't even any evidence that they wear gloves or wash their hands. If the staff won't protect its customers by wearing masks, it's hard to believe they are taking any other additional precautions to keep their patrons safe. I've been here many times over the years as have many of their customers. It's disappointing to say the least. I won't be back until the risk of infection drops below the emergency levels it's at now. read more

I was pretty hungry today while visiting Boca beach, so I decided to make my way towards Fran's chicken haven. It's a nice little place tucked into a plaza off of N Federal Highway, it's got a subtle charm to it. I got the corn nuggets, a chicken leg, and their homemade sweet iced tea for $13 after tip. It was a bit pricey for the amount of food I received considering the chicken leg was smaller than I expected. The chicken was really tender and juicy though, the corn nuggets were alright, nothing to drool over, but their Buffalo sauce which I presume is made in house was really tasty, it gave me that soul food flavor that Fran's chicken haven is promoting. The last thing was the homemade sweet tea, it was the best part of my meal, really hit the spot and gave me that fresh flavor of a southern sweet tea, it was phenomenal. Overall I give Fran's a 6.5/10, I would recommend stopping in for a light snack, nice establishment with friendly staff, due to covid there is dine in available. Thank you! :) read more

So after reading the great reviews for this place, I knew I needed to stop by. Walking in, your nose is distracted by the aroma of fresh fried chicken. When every seat was taken, I knew I was in the right place. Decided on ordering a 2 piece meal with mashed potatoes and gravy. The corn nuggets sounded good but I think I will go for them another time. Asked for some bbq sauce on the side and hot sauce too. Soon I was on my way home and the scent of the chicken in my car was ridiculous lol. Open up my food and it also came with a small cup of cole slaw. So I pulled a piece off of the chicken and all I thought was heaven. Delicious, crispy, chicken so yummy! The mashed potatoes and cole slaw were also very delicious. I love eating local, so I was excited to try a little hole in the wall. I got the bowl with fried chicken (obvi how do you come here and not get chicken?!?) mashed potatoes, cheese and these fried corn nugget things. It was very very tasty! The chicken was very tender, and the corn nuggets were to die for. A perfect combination of flavors. My boyfriend & I were the only ones dining in yet our order seemed pretty rushed. The workers seemed super busy doing other things which was off-putting if I'm being honest. I ordered the homemade sweet tea and my boyfriend got a water and they never brought out his water but my kind boyfriend asked for my sweet tea and didn't care they forgot his. (***PRO TIP GET THE SWEET TEA!!***) I frickin' love a good homemade sweet tea. It was the perfect drink to wash down some bomb fried chicken. We also ordered corn muffins which I felt were missing something, I'm not sure what they just seemed a bit bland. In my personal preference, I would had like the meat to have a bit mire flavor, the crust was very well seasoned but the meat itself was a bit bland...again, it was just me, my family was fine with it. Finally tried this place and I'm impressed. I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was fried nicely and had great favor. The waffles was good but I wasn't a fan of the powered sugar and whipped cream that they put on top. The fried oreo was the best part however. Craving fried chicken today brought us to Frans. The place isn't much to look at but it is clean. Extremely small inside with just a few tables. The menu is simple, what kind of chicken do you want? We tried a white basket of 2 breasts and 2 wings. I liked the flavor of the chicken but the breasts were over cooked and the wings seemed soft and just uncooked. The mashed potatoes are delicious, the chicken gravy was also good. Coleslaw was a little sweet but very yummy. We enjoyed the simple fried mushrooms. But if you don't mind sitting at the counter or at one of the tables lined up near the entrance, it's fine. Order, grab your plastic or metal utensils and you're served pretty quickly. Service is friendly and businesslike, since there are no waiters or dedicated servers, just one or two gentlemen at the counter, taking orders and frying chicken. A few suggestions: skip the french fries, which are ordinary and opt for the mashed potatoes instead. They're homemade and accompanied by a tasty (but not too-salty) gravy. The slaw is slightly sweet but very good. The chicken is the star, of course and it's perfectly crisp and greaseless; flavorful inside and not at all dry. Everything was delivered fresh and the chicken was super hot!
