Great prices on fresh bread, and even better on clearance. I always find some surprise treats. This is my go-to store for pies.

The Grain Shed does a farm to table model and is a bakery and brewery. I got a snack here along with a beer and left quite satisfied. I got a Grilled Cheese Sandwich on some of their house made bread with some Cheddar, Swiss and Provolone cheese. The exact name for this sandwich is the Cheesy Toastie. And of course moving on to the beer... the primary motivator to come here. I got the Kölsch beer here called Field Trip. I do love a good Kölsch as they are nice, light bodied beers. And they are especially nice in the summertime. Flavor features in this beer is maltiness, breadiness, a bit of hoppiness and a dry finish. Another beer that Steve and I tried was the INWPA which was a Pale Ale. It was also a nice light bodied beer which again hit the spot despite it being a different drinking session. Flavor characteristics in this beer is citrus, a yeastiness, hoppiness and a biscuity trait. Good beers and sandwiches and we are aiming for a return whenever we are in Spokane again.

Oh man best ever! A molasses cookie! And again best ever! And my favorite thing was a fabulous cup of drip coffee with free refills! Sat outside and it was very enjoyable.

Experience/Service: the place is cute cute cute! The service was top-notch, friendly, and genuine. Food: wow! A bakery this truly is. I had the opportunity to try several types of scones and some sort of almond roll and it was all delicious. I especially loved the lemon-blueberry scone and I normally don't even like lemon. If I had been in town more than 2 days I would have gone more. Price: normally I don't mention this because prices are in the eye of the beholder. But compared to my native SoCal the prices here were $1-2 less per drink. A latte and a huge home-baked scone for $10? Wouldn't happen elsewhere. So bravo for keeping prices reasonable. Loved visiting Spokane and this was a key part of my experience in the South Hill.

Oh my gosh, it was soooo good! We tried a few different items. We had the lemon blueberry scone, a butter croissant, a chocolate croissant, and a cinnamon roll. Each one was delicious! We also had a couple of their fun coffee drinks and they were also amazing. One additional thing that I think sets this bakery apart from the others is how spacious it is. I feel like most bakeries are a bit cramped with their counter and the seating, but Rockwood Bakery feels very spacious for your coffee dates or a meet up with friends. The service was super friendly and helpful too! I highly recommend going here!

There are also warm food options to order. The staff was friendly and upbeat and answered my questions about the baked goods and food. I selected the ginger crinkle and was not disappointed. It was so flavorful and rich with real ginger you could see. I came back the next day for another one. There is street parking but it can be limited when times are busy. There is space to sit and enjoy your food. And there are some neat shops to check out nearby. Highly recommend!

The quality of ingredients tasted really fresh and thoughtful, and they have a surprisingly wide variety of nutritious options. I don't have a chance to try it, but their selection of savory entree plates were very impressive (see my photos pleaseeee), and they also serve delicious soup as well. But the highlight was their baked goods, 100% gluten free at a very reasonable price for the portion and quality. This place is inside Saranac Commons, very pretty and is a good place to slow down for lunch or coffee. Staff were kind, attentive, and happy to answer questions about the menu. Definitely a place I'd come back to whenever I'm in Spokane.
