We had gin and tonics and I must say the tonic made in house was amazing. We didn't have time to eat because we showed up too close to closing time. Excellent food. You must get the cheese curds! I am from Wisconsin and I am quite the critic on those! Hot totty drink was awesome. Vodka is amazing- get the vodka tonic. This is the new cool hangout for locals that just opened. A comfortable or dare I say cozy retreat after a day of powder skiing or Trail running and biking. I had a truly homemade Manhattan (my favorite) and wow what a difference quality rye whiskey and a competent distillery technician (aka bartender:-) can make in a drink. I savored every sip. Yum City.... This is a nice family run business where you are greeted immediately and treated as a respected guest. The new limited menu of sumptuous Pastrami Sandwiches and homemade french fries coming out of the spacious and CLEAN Kitchen made me drool like a Pavlovian Dog. Note: I asked to inspect the kitchen and I was invited in and given a tour without hesitation as well as the seperate distillery by the owner. A must when you are in the area. Everything is so fresh, delicious and made in house. I love their gin and tonic and I never liked either prior to frequenting here. The have the best seasonal salads, chicken tenders, fries, we have never had a bad meal. Also the staff are super friendly and responsive, which is becoming more rare to find with the work force shortages out there. Ambiance is Colorado chic, warm and inviting. We never miss an opportunity to eat and drink here when we are in town. read more

Decided to get a couple different things and share at the table. My kids are 9 and 12 so wasn't sure if the food was too "fancy". Great food, service and atmosphere. We chose this place because it had a few vegetarian options. We got the falafel sandwich with a flatbread that seemed homemade and really good. Homemade sauces are excellent. We also got a summer salad with crispy chickpeas and a wonderful-dressing. The Mediterranean board was creative, appealing and very good with homemade hummus. We had no idea what we had been missing. Yes, this is a distillery, but their attention to the food is like it is all they do. The four of us ordered a variety off of the menu and everything was fresh and delicious, no shortcuts taken. I came here on a local recommendation for a good dinner place but sadly was very surprised and disappointed in the FVD's lack of customer service. The staff were strangely cold and aloof and they couldn't get me out the door fast enough when they realized I was only grabbing dinner and not a drink, as I was passing through on a road trip. My waitress payed minimal attention to me and sent other staff over to bring the meal and return my check - it definitely made me feel I was not worth her time. She had no problem however being overly welcome to the bachelorette party who came in next to me. My food was very good, but honestly ruined by the lack of hospitality and kindness. FVD, you mention this is a family owned and run place in your menu - please make sure your staff is kind and mature enough to treat every customer who walks through your doors as such. We visited this new distillery unplanned last night on our way to Grand Lake. Highway 40 was shut down because of an accident north or Tabernash. We had two cars, one of them with two girls (8&4) and bathrooms and food were needed. We opted to go back to Fraser to another restaurant which was a 30 minute wait. We saw that Fraser Valley Distilling had open tables and I'm not sure why because this place is awesome. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted with welcome service and set up for our party of six. Edmund (son of the owner, son in law? Can't remember sorry) greeted us at the table and gave us service that other restaurants should use as a prime example of what great service is all about. He was constantly stopping by making sure we were happy. He also gave us a glimpse of the distilling room and how it produced the delicious spirits they offer. Vodka martinis were had by two of us. $5 a piece. Very reasonable! I can honestly tell you that this was delicious vodka. Gin an tonic by another. "Very tasty". Whisky something by another. "Really strong!" On to the food. Edmund jumped all over the fact that we had hungry kids. Grilled cheese and fries $7. Rye bread wasn't a favorite with the kids but the adults claimed it delicious. We had an order of their organic Colorado russet potato fries. I thought, whatever they're fries and placed the order. I will go back for these fries alone! Best fries I've ever had! Served with ketchup and a garlic aioli dip that was amazing. The other food on the tables around us look delicious. Salads and pastas. Yum. Do yourselves a favor and check this place out! Came here twice this summer because it's simply too good to pass by. Really good food, tasty cocktails, and amazing (AMAZING) service. I went out to eat only a handful of times this summer and this place walks away with the best service by a landslide. In my time I had the chicken fingers (delicious) and the pork sandwich (fantastic) and a broad range of the cocktails (all good). Highly recommend stopping off here any time you're nearby.
