Front desk workers are lazy and busy eating crackers. TK was too lazy to help me find filters and would not call for the service guy. Instead he blamed me for not knowing what filters and tried to get me to buy the wrong filters. Service guy was great and actually helped me. I am taking my business somewhere else. read more

Installed an Inground Pool with Valley Pools last summer 2024, and it was nothing but a Great experience. Great Communication, and the project went very close to how our Sales Person told us it would go. They have been nothing but very helpful following the completion of the whole project. We were looking for an o-ring for a common pool part. Parts person was rude and was not open to trying to help. Stated they don't carry that brand. When asked if they carry o-rings (as we could clearly see on the wall) he just repeated that they don't carry that brands parts. When we escalated to the manager to see if any of the orings hanging on the wall would work we were told no go to a hardware store. I've used them for 10+ years, this is the first time treated poorly and I will not return and I will not recommend that type of service to anyone. Making Amazon a more dominate force over local business, way to go Valley Pools. read more

I have used valley pools and spas for several years. The owner is rude, dishonest, and has no customer service skills. They screw up orders. Parts section is a joke. I have found a new location to obtain my pool supplies. I will never return and will spend my money elsewhere. Update: owner states he can't find me in his store. tl;dr-they won't replace a winter pool cover that ripped after only a few days of use. Let's start at the beginning. I needed a winter pool cover, and these guys seemed the most helpful and reasonable that I've dealt with (which is a low bar in this industry). So I purchased this for about $125. I put it on our pool, and it ripped within a week later. I called Valley Pool and Spa and they were more than happy to replace it for me. A few weeks later, I hadn't heard anything. So I called them back, and they said they had gotten it in, but there was something wrong with it, so they had to reorder it. Weird that they didn't call me updating me. I called back a week later, and they said they hadn't gotten it in. I also told them that I didn't love that I had to call them to get an update. They told me that I will have to continue to call in to get updates because they wouldn't call me. Strike one. Then, weeks went by, and I called again. It wasn't in. Then frankly, I simply forgot. Life got busy, the cover got snow and rain on it, so I knew I wasn't going to be able to take it off anyway until springtime. So this is partially on me, because I never called back. But it shouldn't have taken this long, and their poor customer service was also to blame. Strike 2. Fast forward to this week. Thinking about closing down the pool in a few months, I decided to call them back. I have saved the old ripped, duct taped pool cover in my garage as evidence. Jackie, the scheduler, was super nice. I love her. She is totally reasonable. Joe, in parts, and the manager, was.... not as nice. I explained my predicament, and he was immediately defensive, rude, and dismissive. "Why didn't you return it right away?" "Why didn't you call back?" "It's over a year old and I can't just take your word for it" I asked to speak to a manager, and he said he is the manager. I asked to speak to an owner, and he refused. So this is where I'm at. Angrily writing this review. I'm amazed that he's willing to sacrifice thousands of dollars of service over a $100 pool cover. Came home to what should have been my pool opening, but instead a nightmare. I always make it a point to say don't hesitate to call if they have any questions at all and my sister would be there if they needed anything else. After they no call/no showed on our original scheduling date , I had called asked if they were going to reschedule due to the cold snap or if i had the incorrect date, but received no call back again. Instead came home to a broken pool cover, broken key box from using a knife to open it when the key was where i told them, pumps leaking and weren't even pumping because the valves were closed. Even if they had opened the correct ones im not sure how they would have even caught prime since the water level was just below the skimmers . My sister had called me earlier in the day after the workers knocked on the door and said they were done and other than they told her a cover rope broke, everything wlse was good to go! I have had cover ropes break in the past but usually because they were due to be replaced anyway. Not brand news ones and thats why i had originally called to see if they were going to reschedule with the cold snap, considering everything was frozen soild from the rain/snow, seemed like a problem waiting to happen and my suspicions were correct. Wish I would have read these reviews prior to buying from them. We bought a pool 2 years ago and they are yet to deliver the ladder. Additionally their service is severely lacking. I had a pump that was overheating. I called them and said that I checked for blockages and adequate airflow. They made a trip out and checked those same two things and charged me 150 for something I already knew. Didn't do any further diagnosis. When I called to voice my concern they were unapologetic; having the gall to offer to send out somebody else for 150 to do the same thing. Pump is two years old. This shouldn't happen. read more

We got a pool in the middle of Covid, so while there were considerable delays, they kept me in the loop and were very apologetic about it. I knew this was happening across the industry, so we tried to be patient. Once the pool arrived they got it installed immediately on our time schedule (in between travel obligations), and came out to train us on how to do everything. It's a lot to learn, but he gave me his cell and email and was available for all my stupid questions and was really nice about it. Shortly after we started using our pool, we decided to buy a hot tub. Given the shortages, we opted to buy a floor model, and they let us know when it was available to be delivered. They delivered and set it up, and again, someone came out to train us. This is SO helpful!!! This spring I did my own "openings", and called them with quite a few questions, but was always answered helpfully. We ordered some solar heaters through a different company and the hoses were not quite the same size. The folks in parts have been super helpful in putting together options to adapt things so they fit together and get me up and running. A can't understand the bad reviews, a couple of my neighbors recommended Valley Pool, and our experience has been nothing but great! read more

we had our pool vacuum "fixed" here. They replaced it with dirty used parts. So much so that we don't even know if the unit is our own anymore! It does look smaller than the one we brought in. After dropping off the unit, I went in almost 2 weeks later to check if it was done and it was still in the same plastic bag I brought it in with- in the same location they dropped it when I dropped it off... next to a bunch of other vacuums. I think they are very disorganized. The worst issue is that when I paid for the unit, realized it wasn't mine (or, parts of it weren't mine) we called, emailed and came in to talk to the owner/manager. We have not received any calls or emails back trying to resolve the issue. Listen to the other negative yelp reviews and mine... this company does not care about your business.... just a sale. read more

Absolutely rude owner. The first time I went in looking for parts, I was told the hose I was looking for was not available and that non of the options would work. I bought two other hoses to replace the return and intake lines, but still needed one for the section between the pump and filter. When I went back in, I was told that the hoses that I previously bought would work fine between the pump and the filter and was told that "it's all the same pressure" when I asked about the fact that last time he told me it wouldn't work. Got home, installed the hose, and less than 12 hours later the pump stopped working. I checked all the breakers, the outlet and the intake to ensure nothing was clogged, and called looking for some answers. Larry the owner was very rude and confrontational when I asked if he was going to cover any of the cost to repair or replace the pump, as it's clearly the hose that caused an issue considering it was working JUST FINE for the previous month and a half with the other hose. I will absolutely in no way shape or form do any other business with this company, and I urge you to do the same. Larry has NO personality, and NO customer service skills to speak of. read more

We have been using them for chemicals, filters, covers and some service for over 20 years. We have had interactions with many employees over the years and cannot remember one bad experience. They are knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and price competitive. They also have done a great job in servicing our spa when needed, which fortunately has been seldom! read more

Rude customer service. Not helpful in the least when we asked questions. They're somewhat condescending and argumentative. When we provided them with measurements of our tank the guy was insistant that they never made a 40 gallon one...then he looked it up..... and to his surprise -"yeah, well I've never heard of that before". Really??? Also employees were just standing around when we asked for help to find something. They just sort of looked asked each other and pointed us towards "the back". Apparently everything they own is in "the back". Weve had them open and close our pool a couple times now which was fine I guess but doing business with them in person is a different story. We will definitely take our business elsewhere from now on including our pool opening and closings. read more

They're crappy servicemen broke my filter and two valve, then refused to repair them until I paid for their carelessness. When they left, my filter was spraying water like a fountain and they left my fence gate open. Terrible customer service. I am a first time pool owner which i mentioned multiple times. I was told "I have a lot to learn" and then provided no helpful knowledge. I was told my cover needed fixing and someone would contact me. It was never added To the work order. I was told to bring my water in for testing "in a couple days" after three days I took it in and was told it was too soon. When I asked what Time they would be at my house for an appointment they said "we don't know. they just come." I said it there a time frame? I was told no. One word replies. Horrible sales team and customer service. I walked into Burnsville's Valley Pool and Spas with cash in hand, for the sole purpose of purchasing my first hot tub. There was one other customer being assisted (with what looked like a hot tub purchase). Two additional sales staff at a register counter and what appeared to be another couple people in a side office room. I walked around the hot tubs for 15 minutes looking at the options and designs. Nobody seemed to notice I had even walked through the door. I asked the two sales persons at the counter for some information on hot tubs and they both said they would find someone to help. I walked around the spas for additional 15 minutes with no help or reply from any of the staff. Very unprofessional and rude!!!! read more

Terrible customer service. I brought in my pool vacuum to be repaired. A week later I called to check the status. They said they had not gotten to it yet. I asked when they would get a chance to look at it and the guy said he had no idea. I asked him to guess... a week? a month? should I come get it and take it somewhere else? He guess a week or so. Another half a week went by and I was in for a water test. I asked if they had a chance to look at it and they hadn't. When the vacuum finally did get fixed, they fixed it with a used hose. The condition of the hose was much worse than the one I brought in. Yellowed and rusted looking, though I know plastic does not rust. I left the vacuum there and asked why it was fixed with a used hose. The man I spoke with said he wasn't the one who fixed it and so-and-so would be in tomorrow and I would get a call. no call. I called 2 days later and the guy I spoke with simply said it wasn't fixed with a used hose - it was my hose. I am glad the vacuum is fixed, but angry at the poor customer service and will never be back. That said, the guy that opened my pool was very nice and informative. read more

My husband and I had an exceptional experience at Valley Pools and Spas. Our sales person Christie was very professional, knowledgeable, thorough and polite. She listened to everything we had to say about our needs. Valley has a very wide range of product to consider and we loved their Marquis spas! This is our third one! She went as far as to pull a spa out of their warehouse for us to look at to be sure that we were getting the proper color and finish for our home. We could not be happier!! Valley Pool and Spa put our inground pool in this past fall. Starting with their sales guy (Randy) to the owner (Larry), everyone we have come in contact with have been great! Valley has always been so responsive and patient with a few issues we had and questions we ask. Larry always makes himself available to talk and has great customer service. Worst customer service. Received a hot tub from our neighbors, and trying to get part numbers from the store to replace some stuff, and they state they are unable to give out that information. Mind you, Im not asking for any privacy information, but rather part numbers. They wont even tell me what filters i need. Would not recommend this company for building your pool at all. The communication is terrible and their sub contractors don't show up when they say they are. Took us all summer to get our pool built, when the people down the street had theirs put in within a month. Very poor customer service and no communication from the owners regarding the delay or apology. Customer service is pretty non existent aside from my first visit there. I had one girl who was able to find what I needed and even help me out to the car with my purchase. She was helpful and knew where to find things. However, I have yet to have a pleasant experience on any return trips. I just moved to a home with a pool and when I tried to ask an employee to help me find a new part for a non functioning vacuum, he couldn't be bothered to do anything besides seem annoyed and drop a part onto the counter and walk away. I've had to go in since and "interact" with this employee and its the same story.. People just sitting around and no one to really answer questions. Bummer. read more
