Camarillo has been devoid of good pizza Pizzeria Bianca Rosso closed. Fred's appears to be filling that void. I wanted to start with a simple 12" brick oven margherita pizza. The crust was nice and speckled and chewy without being dense. The cheese was just enough and tasty enough not to overpower the sauce and dough. My only criticism is the sauce was a little bland. Overall I enjoyed the pizza and will be back again Parking is a big issue as there is an outdoor seating area taking up a dozen spaces or more The website is also a bit misleading as it appears takeout and delivery are the only options In fact, there are plenty of tables and chairs to enjoy your pizza inside (if you can find a place to park. Unfortunately, as much as we enjoy their food, the service was not the best. We waited 40 minutes for our pizza and when we inquired, they said it would be, "right out". We waited a little bit longer and finally asked for a refund (which we received) but not before we were accused of "spilling water on our pizza" (which we didn't...it was a customer outside who, in fact, got their new pizza and we still hadn't received ours!) Easily my favorite pizza place in Ventura County. I just love the vibe here with Rori's ice cream across the way in this loud and shared venue. If you're looking for pan or California style pizza you've come to the wrong place: It's all about New York thin crust style here. The dough is perfectly chewy with a bit of heft that holds up to the high quality ingredients. The red sauce is tangy and fresh. And the sausage in particular is that crumbly, fatty goodness you crave with tons of fennel seed and oregano. The mushroom pizza had good truffle flavor and umami. This was our second time coming here and we will continue to come to this spot regularly. Today we got there Margherita Pizza (not pictured because we literally ate it immediately) and it was super fresh and the crust is delicious! I was really craving their deli nachos which I can't believe no one has raved about in a review yet.. I have been thinking about them for weeks since we got them the first time but sadly they ran out of pastrami. I decided to try the loaded fries with Buffalo chicken which were AMAZING. This place just gets better and better. Crisp, homemade chips, salad dressings and a cheese sauce that is beyond belief! FINALLY got to that Short Rib Melt. I paired it with their mixed greens salad that the name doesn't do justice to. Yellow cherry tomato halves and looong pieces of thinly sliced fresh carrot curls and homemade vinaigrette top off the colorful spring greens. The short ribs are a slow cooked delight! The Margherita Pizza with Prosciutto Di Parma and extra basil added has become something I must have regularly. Well trained, attentive and all pro staff complete the always amazing experience. Maybe should have tried their signature pizza because the sandwiches were just basic. The bread was ordinary. Unremarkable. The chips were ok, too. The service matched the food or maybe even colored my opinion of it because it was most basic, detached. Example - the wait staff simply dropped off our plates without even asking "is there anything else I can get you? Would you like any sauces, napkins?" (We got neither). So plain and inattentive. As for ambiance, the parklet is cool, but just because it's shared use with other eateries doesn't excuse let you off the hook for cleaning the tables. Wiping them down wouldn't take too much effort, instead we're treated to what generations of diners before us had. So yeah, if you're looking for a basic experience, there are probably lower price options out there. read more

Amazing pizzas. Unfortunately this visit, we ordered 2 pizzas at 12:11p. At 12:38p we inquired where our pizzas were. ( for reference it was a Monday/lunch time- 2 other people in the place which came after us and were leaving as we got our pizzas somehow they got theirs before us) One pizza was just coming out of the oven. They other pizza they completely burnt and they told us they needed to remake it. He apologized with the "I don't know what to tell you" unless you want the burnt pizza. This is the sixth and last time we will be going to Freda's. The last three times we tried their pizza we've been severely disappointed! When they first opened they had amazing customer service and beyond delicious pizza. We would tell all our friends. We wrote off the first bad pizza with very little flavor to a busy Friday night. Then we thought it was because it was delivery that made it disappointing. But the last and final time we went to pick up a pizza on a Sunday we looked at the pizza before we left and this burned pizza. We kindly asked if we could get a new pizza not so overdone. The young thoughtless staff proceeded to show the pizza to everyone in the back cooking pizzas and laughed. It made us wonder what they might do to our next pizza. Gone are all the good people that used to work at this location. Everyone there seems very young and doesn't seem to care about quality. Too bad! We LOVE Freda's!! Everything taste so good & fresh. The Bacon/Potato has become our new "go-to". Truly the best. The wedge salad is huge! (Enough to share). I feel really bad saying this.. but " We haven't been to T*****'s in forever. (Nothing bad to say at about them @ all). Love that Freda's shares space with a local brewery. Outstanding pizza. TERRIBLE delivery time. They won't fire your order until the drive arrives. That penalizes the drive and makes your online order take an hour or more to get your food. We love their pizzazz but they force a policy that is harsh to the customer. read more

I must admit this pizza joint is by far the best pizza in town! After the Camarillo outlets I was craving pizza and looked up a pizza spot on Yelp and this came up- i thought I'd give it a try! Great customer service and very patient and clean with all these Covid rules. Abraham made a bomb ass Truffle Mushroom pizza and me and friends devoured it. I will definitely be going back for more and I also tried their wings. The sauce is unbelievable - it's perfection! They need to open up a location in the valley.
