Kinda cute honestly. The spot is small but they have TVs going and little Connect Four games on the tables so it has a fun vibe. Nicole was working and she was genuinely warm and welcoming. Not that fake "hi welcome in" energy . She actually made you feel like you were supposed to be there. I did my research before going so we passed on the catfish (the reviews on that were not it). Instead I got the Large Garlic Noodles, Chicken & Sausage Rasta Pasta, and the Crawfish & Sausage Mac N Cheese. All three were hitting. Like actually good, not just hype good. After the food came I decided to try the watermelon lemonade and that was a solid decision. Not too sweet, really refreshing. For dessert we grabbed the Peach Cobbler out of the display case. It came in a little tin that it was made in, and it was slightly dry, but the flavor was there. Tasty, just needs some work. Came out to $70.25 total which honestly felt right for what we got. Anyway, so as you walk in you can order thru the kiosk or at the register. So we decided to eat in. Just forewarning there's not a lot of tables inside. I've noticed people come in to pick up orders when we were there. But I felt like we brought in customers because there was no one in there but as we sat down people were in and out. Haha. I wish I had those powers. Anyways, I love how while you wait for your food they have board games on the table, so you're not anxiously or impatiently waiting (insert smile). So when our food finally came it smelled so good. The portions are huge I'd say it's enough for two. My friend ordered the vegetarian Rasta pasta and I had the garlic noodles and Asian sticky prawns. The food was nice and hot. Not warm hot! Oh my gosh! It was scrumptious! I need to come back and taste other items on the menu. FYI, the price is not bad for a plate, $15-20 a plate depending on what you order. I ordered one of their tropical drinks, the mango flavored one. What a terrible experience. Ended up throwing away $100 worth of food. The fried fish was rubbery, chewy and overcooked. No powdered sugar but it tasted exactly like a churro! The crawfish Mac n cheese with sausage was not skimpy at all. The yams were cut differently for me but could replace most of my families yams!! U order from a kiosk but she made sure to say hi from the back and smile. Her energy is everything. The blended drinks wasn't good too artificial for me but I appreciate the options here seriously. Now it is just scooped out of a large batch and dumped into a much smaller container. About 1/3 of the volume and lacking the density and cheese crust of the original. The portion was adequate for sharing, and the sides were delicious--though we would have loved a larger serving of Mac and cheese as well as the Brussels sprouts. The seafood platter was excellent, with each piece perfectly coated in cornmeal and crispy. We also tried the peach cobbler, but it was less enjoyable. The cinnamon was a bit overpowering, and the pastry dough could have benefited from a few more minutes in the oven. Additionally, the peach-to-pastry ratio felt a bit off. As a pastry chef, I typically refrain from voicing my opinions in reviews, but I share my thoughts in hopes that my next experience will be significantly better.
