There is never a good time for a water heater to die on you but 3 days before New Years Day is especially bad!! I called 2 companies and they were both booked until January 3rd. Fortunately for me Freddy was not only open but returned my call within 10 minutes AND came to my house within 2 hours. I know very little about water heaters and my husband was at work. Ordinarily I don't like to deal with household repairs on my own because I feel like some men try to take advantage of my lack of knowledge but not Freddy. He told me it didn't make sense to spend the money on a repair because the heater was so old and in a week or so it would die again. I called my husband and Freddy explained everything to him. Five hours later we have a brand spanking new water heater with a 6 year warranty. It's so pretty too. An actual good plumber... In the process of moving, SW Gas said they couldn't turn on the water heater in our new place due to a bad install and potential CO leak. Calling plumbers, we came across a bunch that made you feel as if you should be grateful to do business with them... on their lazy schedule... and with the privilege of paying them just to visit the West Valley. And boy, could they sell you a bnch of other things you "need". Finally Yelp'd it and we found Freddy's Plumbing. I was in a pinch with a plumbing emergency, and called all over town trying to find someone. Most companies wouldn't even give me an idea of a price range or they wanted to charge a service fee just to come out and give me an estimate. Others I called were not available for days. A friend gave me Freddy's number, and he rearranged his schedule to come to my house within a couple of hours. He was polite and professional, and he charged way less than I had expected to pay. On his way out, he came back and knocked on the door to show me the line to my main drain and explain how the valve worked and to be careful about the new plants I had planted around it to make sure I didn't cover it. A guy from the gas company came by because our gas bill was going up really fast. After a little investigation he told me I had a hot water leak and needed a plumber over ASAP. I wasn't sure where to start, but I found Freddy on Yelp. Although it was already late, we talked about the problem over text and he gave me a call later at 7:00 PM! He had me check a few things to confirm it was a slab leak, and told me how to stop the bleeding until it gets addressed.
