Waste of time. Their free estimate for our clogged sewer drain was to walk into the bathroom and without so much as even a flashlight on the drain they quoted $510 to snake the drain.Then the TWO techs it took to throw out a price for something they hadn't looked at left but stood outside by their truck for over an hour (weird and awkward bc I was working on my yard)! I then reached out to the co that's hard to spell and they came out with easier online scheduling that took 2 mins, tech being here 30 mins, showed us WITH a camera what the issue is, and ultimately if Roto Rooter blindly snaked that drain it would've likely caused a collapse. That's my experience. Really disappointing. read more

I don't like to write these poor reviews, especially when the people were really nice, however... I had someone come out to check my tub since it was not draining. We had tried Draino and our own snake but nothing helped. We noticed it's take over an hour to drain and was draining into our outside driveway. I also had a toilet that was flushing weird. Almost immediately after my online inquiry, someone called and even offered a sooner time slot than I had entered online; which was amazing since I was trying to get this taken care of on Father's Day Weekend & take one thing off my husband's to-do list. Someone came out and within a matter of 5 minutes got the toilet up and running smoothly. He was working at the tub for a good 20 minutes and said he was unsuccessful and had to get someone out to use a camera to see what was going on. (this visit was $330+) to unclog my toilet in 5 mins... He enrolled me in some "program" which he said would help him bonus and would ensure if they had to come out again I would get a "discount" Then... an hour later another guy shows up, took a photo of the tub and told me he'd email an estimate. I thought he was going to use a camera down the drain to get more information, but no. Just a photo. I get an emailed estimate to rip out my tub, dig into the foundation and replace any broken pipes for over $8000! This does not include any cost of damages done to the flooring or walls in the process. I was completely stunned... got another opinion and someone came out and unclogged a wad of hair from the drain within an hour and now everything is working fine.. Again, everyone was very nice in the process and truly made me believe they were helping me out and giving me the best deal. I write this to caution anyone to definitely get another opinion before spending the money. read more

Extremely disappointed with Roto-Rooter (Glendale, AZ). We were quoted $420 for labor to replace a standard electric water heater. Without any notice, my wife's card was charged $1,444.26 -- over three times the quoted price. No one explained the price increase before taking payment. The installation left drywall damage, debris, and stains, and even after visiting the local office and contacting corporate, nothing was resolved. The manager offered a small $200 refund that never went through, and no one ever followed up as promised. This company showed zero transparency or accountability. Paying premium rates for poor workmanship and no customer support is unacceptable. Get everything in writing if you decide to use them -- or better yet, find a different licensed contractor. read more

I called immediately and they had somebody come back the next day to fix it properly and there were no issues. They keep calling me to get $600 for me for the second visit EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THEIR TECHS FAULT. WHY WOULD I PAY MORE MONEY FOR A MISTAKE THEY MADE? I settled the issue, I thought, with Beth Adam's but apparently they still say I owe them money because I got another call today. Send me to collections I'm not paying for your guys fuckup. Rotor Rootor plumber didn't even go into my property and without assessing the situation said he would charge me $500 to un-clog my toilet. I said no thank you. I called Rotor Rooter and the guy who answered said he would transfer me to his manger/supervisor put me on hold came back on the phone and said his manager/supervisor went to lunch. I said thank you for trying. Goodbye. I went to Ace Hardware the floor sales man said to buy a Cobra toilet auger for $16. Go to you tube watch the cobra toilet auger how to use tool video. Guys were nice, but they didn't fix anything. Was booked for a 59 cleanout special. They came out and it cost me $390, plus a $5,500 quote for tree roots! I didn't hire them in fact their testing made my plumbing worse than before they came. They were trying to sell a service i needed but at a substantial price. Quote was $1600. more than another co that gave a second opinion for same issue. And other co didn't cause additional plumbing issues with their testing! Would not recommend Rotor Rooter unless you have money to burn. Consider it a Ripoff visit if they come to ur house! read more

I have been waiting several hours for a call back from them. After getting angry with them they called me back to say they already reviewed the problem and sent me a proposal for $6,700 and won't be able to do work till maybe Monday. So after the initial visit to clear the blockage, I was scheduled for a Hydro-jet appointment. I was shown a video of the inside of the drain line and even though the blockage had been cleared, it could be see that the pipe was still restricted with fat. The Hydro-Jet pressure washes the pipe from the inside. Joe was dispatched. This guy has been with Roto-Rooter for decades! He was professional, competent and warm. He showed me the inside of the pipe before and after the pressure wash. Joe is a very centered guy who was a joy to chat with. I have no doubt that his work the best. I was pleasantly surprised that such a large, well established company was was still so customer focused. Nice work Roto-Rooter! read more

Recent update:- we contacted the Arizona Attorney General's office and made a complaint through them, they contacted Roto Rooter Glendale. Roto Rooter refused to take any responsibility over several correspondences regarding stuck snake in our pipeline until finally they had no leg to stand on. They said they had issued a reimbursement check, we said, give us a copy of the canceled check - they could not produce it, A couple top managers have since been let go from what we understand. We finally got reimbursement after eight months for their incompetence. I would be very cautious about using this company in future unless you're feeling very lucky. read more

Well I just got done with 24 hours of hell waiting for this company. I called around noon and was told they would come out to fix a quick issue (my tenants did not have water through all of this) by 4:30. No show and I had to call at 5 to check in. They said all technicians were delayed and they would get back to me in an hour. Hour goes by... no call. I call again and same issue. 7 pm rolls around and still no one shows up and no phone call with any kind of update! At this point I had waited long enough and rescheduled for the morning with a window of 8-12. Shocker, no show and I have to call again at 12. I understand delays but that was ridiculous and the costumer service on following up was unacceptable!! Technician finally came out. Solved the issue but after waiting 24 hours (water had to be turned off this whole time) they only offered a measly 50$ off. Only reason they are getting a star is because I will say the job finally got done and the actual technicians that came out were very nice and helpful. Too bad because I have used them multiple times in the past with no issues, but this experience will be making me use another company next time. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. Worse customer service ever. Two guys show up to look at my water heater as it wasn't producing hot water. No introductions. Both stood a yard away from my water heater and spoke in Spanish to each other. I asked what was wrong and one replied he was diagnosing the problem...without even touching the unit, he told me I needed a new water heater. I asked if they were even going to look at other possibilities. When they didn't answer, I told them to leave if all they wanted to do was replace the unit without even examining it. I find them fast, same day service, a little pricey but both times I has called and used them they was honest and not trying to put a bill on me for services I did not need. I have had such a nightmare experience in the past with another plumbing company (Robins plumbing) so I was hesitant to call Roto routers at first. I purchased a water heater from Roto rooter one year ago. I was in shock when they gave me the bill, for a water heater they charged me $2,350 dollars!!!!!!! This unit started having water leaks since day one!!! I reported the problem, they sent a technician but they refused to change the unit. I kept having water leaks, so knowing that I had a supposed 6 year guarantee I called to get the unit replaced. The technicians kept scheduling for later because of the weekend, or because of the holidays....excuses. I kept calling and finally 3 technicians show up and replaced the heater! But with another big bill!!!!! So I ended paying for the second unit on full!!! The guarantee is a scam and everything was a scam and a TERRIBLE experience!!!!!! Wow! The service I received from this company is absolutely amazing. I was unable to use my bathroom/dishwasher/washer for two days and called these guys and I am so thankful for them. Total rip-off and exploitation of an 86 year old woman, a client of ours. I would give minus 5 stars if I could. Toilet tank was running, needed new fill valve, a $10 part at HD. They charged $20, which is acceptable. But they hit the lady with a $374.00 labor charge. When I found out and asked for an adjustment/partial refund, they told me thee job was done more than x days ago and a refund "is not possible". What a crock! Everything is possible if you are the owner! Well, they might have made an extra $150 or $200 on that job, but they will never get another job at any of our other 40+ clients, or from office staff, family members and friends. RUN AWAY! They will rip you off and not do what they say they will do! Do not get sucked into their up sales. They came out right away when I had a back up and then up sold me to a $7000 hydro blast and pipe coating. Instead of actually doing what they said they would they just moved the clog further down the line and when my home flooded for the 2nd time they came out with a pitch for $14,000. I was like wait a minute you did not do the first part for $7000 correctly and your tech even said it was not done and you want more money. Fix this original job and then we will see about the 14K. When I said that all of the sudden they were busy and it would be two weeks for them to correct their original screw up. The branch manager is super rude and down right abusive. He kept threatening to lien my home and sue me rather than correct the problem. He kept referencing their bids that I signed and how it was my fault and they would come after me. They are very horrible and especially as a women I would not trust them. They are below a used car salesman! They are out to get you for everything that you have and they do not care about their customers. I thought going with a national company would be the safest way for me to ensure I was not being taken for a ride. UPDATE: other company we hired charged $350 for same job... saving us $2,700! SCAMMERS! Save yourself the time and energy and go somewhere else. The guys who showed up this morning were unprepared to install a shower drain, despite us providing a detailed description of what was needed when setting up the appointment. They looked at the drain and then went outside to "consult" each other and figure out price as they would need to drill away a piece of concrete. They sheepishly came back to us with a ~$3k price tag for the work. SCAMMERS!!! We asked to speak to the supervisor and some unprofessional guy jumps on the line and drums up a courtesy discount to take the edge off. When asked how their price compares to competitors, "supervisor" says he doesn't really know or care what other companies charge . Seriously?? Way to stay competitive. We used another company... $350 for the same job. End of rant. Don't waste your time. Misleading lead time was unethical. First I was told 1.5 hrs, then when I called and they weren't there, it was another 1.5 hrs, called again, then told another 2 hrs, called again, then told yet another 2 hours, called then another 2 hrs... it was insane! Kitchen sink was clogged, Rotorooter came out and did a minimal job on getting sink to empty at $419. They then suggested a camera to view where the clog is located (so they agreed it was not cleared, but running slowly). $169 for the camera guy to come 2 days later. Camera showed clog at about 9 feet in. He would not clear it because he is just the camera guy!?? So another guy came out the next day, said if he were to cable the drain again, it is not covered under their 6 month warranty, because the drain is clearing - altho very slowly. He wanted another $419 to clear it, OR $990 to do a high speed water jet. At that, I asked him to leave. Hired Universal Drain the following day, took him 10 minutes to completely clear the clog, and he checked the main outdoor drain, all 4 bathrooms plus he made several recommendations on how to ensure all drains and toilets stay clear forever! BEWARE!!!!! This company is extremely dishonest! I"m from the Fountain Hills area code and a single woman who lives alone. I called w sewer pump issues, My injector pump was clogged and my sewer was over flowing onto my property. this pump has a electricity cord that plugs in at the top of the sewer hole and the cord is attached to the pump which sits at the bottom of sewer which pumps the sewer from the lower level of my home to the upper level to the city sewer. Their technician ?????? Shows up and about 25 minutes later finds me and advises me that he can't help that he needs to have a specialist come out to fix this problem, next appt for this specialist was 2 days away ( remember I have sewer over flowing onto my property) oh and I'm going back to Cali in 2 days so I running out of time. he leaves I go back down there to find that he cut my electrical cord to the pump in half with a shovel so now I have no power at all and my pump is now sitting dead at the bottom of this crap hole that's still over flowing onto my property ( FYI he left without telling me what he did) I call dispatch and explain my situation she says she will call me back after she talks to the technician. She calls back and tells me that he admitted to her that he did cut the electricity cord w a shovel so she would send another tech out to my home that same day. He shows up and also Has no idea what to do but he did know that roto rooter would not pay for this cord to be fixed. so now I'm left with a bigger problem than I had before they showed up.I spoke w the supervisor ???? And he tells me that I have to find a sewer dump truck to come out and empty out the sewer but they were not going to pay for this that I'm responsible for all cost. i spent the next 24 hours calling every company trying to find help.I called once again and told the receptionist to have a supervisor call me. the manager calls me and tells me that he needs to talk to his tech about cutting my cord but before we hang up he states to me that no matter if he cut it or didn't cut this cord that he wanted me to know that roto rooter was not going to be responsible for any of this Cost. First time, this month, had Robert, for a clogged kitchen drain. Was happy, wrote good review--too soon. Ten minutes after his departure, started the dishwasher-=-which flooded the kitchen. Finally got a Senior tech, Andre W. (and good trainee, Ty), who not only sorted the problem, but went deeper--one problem had lead to another, in this 1959 home. He took the considerable time, was kind, checked everything worked before leaving...the ultimate professional. He deserves a raise, flowers, chocolates, world peace and a pony. Am removing one star b/c communication at RR is a problem: branch manager Mike never returned calls (left 3 messages), and some dispatchers hadn't the right info, or didn't act on it. read more

This company is completely fraudulent. Received a quote on phone that was not upheld by company. Technician didn't even look at problem and quoted a price. Technician who performed work told me people who answered phones were not qualified to give quotes. Technician was in house a little over 13 minutes and charged $ 250.00. Called company to provide feedback from experience and was given the run around by people who answer phones. Never did receive a call from company after 'service' was provided fraudulently. We had a stoppage of the kitchen sink and called the night before to schedule service as soon as possible. We were given a window of 10am to 12pm. At 12pm after receiving no call that the plumber was on his way we called. They told us that the technician was delayed and it was going to be 1 more hour at the most. At 1pm, one hour later, we still got no phone call and had to call again. This time we were told no later than 3pm. So we have wasted our whole day waiting for a technician. According to them we have been next in line for the last two hours. We recommend going with a local plumber instead since we stated the 10am to 12pm would work since we had plans that afternoon and have had to cancel them and cannot use the kitchen at all. read more
