I had a very disappointing experience at Freddy's reptile store due to unprofessional behavior and misinformation. I came to the store because my bearded dragon was not doing well, and I was very concerned. I specifically asked if he had the proper supplies to help my bearded dragon. He assured me that he did, which is why I returned to the store three separate times. On my first visit, I was sold uvb light T8 that no one carries anymore and 50W basking bulb, which turned out not to be working. When I returned to exchange it, he gave me a 250W bulb without properly explaining the risks. That bulb far too hot for a my baby bearded dragon and could have seriously harmed my pet. When I brought this up, he told me to come back and said he would give me store credit, then clarified that he would actually refund my money. Based on that, I agreed to return the next day. When I came back as instructed, he refused to give me my money back and instead said I could only take items from the store--even though he admitted he had nothing appropriate to provide for my bearded dragon. This entire situation was extremely stressful, especially since it involved the health and safety of my pet. The lack of proper guidance, changing his word about the refund, and overall unprofessional handling of the situation makes this a place I would not recommend, especially for new or concerned reptile owners. read more

We visited Freddy's and found the place to be delightful! If you are looking for a reptile this is a great place to go! Every animal looked happy, healthy, well cared for, and clean. All of the cages were clean too. I took pictures with smudged glass, but that doesn't mean the cages are unclean. It just means the reptiles were people watching. They've been open for about 3 years, but this was my first visit. The man who helped us was very helpful, knowledgeable, eager to help, and answered my questions. One of the best parts of our convo was finding out how well he knows the personalities of all of the reptiles. And he also knows the owners of other local exotic pet stores. I think this store is a diamond in the rough. The area is a little iffy for my taste. But, the store itself is fantastic! It reminds me of a pet store I visited often as a child. And - Bonus! There's a friendly tortoise named Brutus that you can feed for $5! How cool is that? I definitely recommend this place! read more

This guy sucks. Animals are in deplorable conditions, all the tanks are flooded, hognoses, bearded dragons and ball pythons kept in literal mud. Wouldn't be surprised if anything you buy there has pneumonia or scale rot. Two black throat monitors in an enclosure no bigger then 5 feet long, same with the argus monitors. He has two massive retics in an enclosure not even big enough for one, not to mention everything's overpriced. $120 for a white's tree frog? Take your business to 9th island or scales n tails, you'll have a much better time read more

Freddy was extremely cool and his shop was set up very neatly, and he has a very cute doberman! This store is about a 30 minute drive from our place, but it was well worth it to stop by. I had a snake who I rescued from a person here in Vegas who wouldn't eat, he helped me with what he could and even gave me tips on how to help out the snake . The 5 star reviews on this store must be a joke. First off as someone that works with reptiles I was very shocked to see the pricing on some of these reptiles. There's absolutely no reason for animals to be as expensive as this store sells them. I was in this store a week ago and it is a sad joke. I recently moved to Las Vegas and decided to go around Vegas to see the reptile stores and by far some of the worst stores I have seen and believe people who just simply want a pet should be aware of the disheartening, disgusting, abusive conditions these reptiles are in. Pushy salesman but good prices on some things it's a meh shop they don't really got much.

I would put a zero but unfortunately yelp doesn't let me. I have a baby bearded dragon and came in to get some small dubias for him. And the employee argued with me telling me he feeds his beardy large dubias so I should feed mine large dubias. And I told him no I need small ones because my beardy is small and he will choke or throw it up. Which is what happened last time I gave him too big of a dubia. Long story short the employee showed me a small dubia and what he will be giving me, and it looked like a good size so I was happy. Until I got home and opened the sealed brown bag he put them in and they were large dubias. So needless to say I feel very disrespected and if your not going to accommodate the customers needs then why are you even selling to people? It's honestly very rude and i huge waste of time. And now I have a bunch of bugs that are huge and can't give to my dragon because they wanted to be petty and lie. read more
