The owner sat and talked us through each lizard and gecko and crazy thing she had in the enclosures. She took time well past closing to explain each one's needs. She volunteers her time and animals to schools and other organizations to teach people about the animals as well. Reptiles are her special interest and have been since she was a child. I don't think she is out to make money more so than she is trying to share her interest with the world. We ended up selecting a bearded dragon and when it came time to buying the enclosure and lighting etc, the owner offered used items first if we needed to stay in a budget. She said she believed everyone should get to experience reptiles regardless of income. I opted for new some someone else had the opportunity who needed it more. She also told us if for any reason it doesn't work out to please bring the dragon back to her to care for. So she isn't a typical pet store with a return policy she actually cares for the animals. Also, her and her husband offer a boarding service for reptiles. Twice we have left our hatchlings with her and her husband and they came back well cared for and happy. Yes the smell is off putting. But the love and care for her animals is present in every interaction.

The tickets were inexpensive and lucky for us it's close to home. This is located Indy convention rooms. Now thought and underestimated the size of this event. But it was huge! Right off the bat you see snakes and spiders. Now most of these for are for sale. We just went to familiarize our self with these cold blooded creatures. We saw all different types of snakes in all different sizes. Gila monsters and chameleons! The vendors are were kind and let my six-year-old hold one. The spiders range from $100 to I'd say $600. Most took cash and some took card. We were really looking to buy just because it's a huge commitment but it was still pretty cool to see. The people around me would ask vendors all types of questions and even by just being near them we learned so much! I think the craziest thing was seeing all the tarantulas. I even heard one of the vendors telling the lady she cant hold it because their hairs get stuck in your skin. Almost like fine glass. They sold everything from glass habitats, food and even have T-shirts you can custom made. They come twice a year. definitely something to check out!

I'm disgusted with their lack of care for these animals. Is there anyway to report or open an investigation? I've had my ball python for about 12 years and I just learned more about how to set up the best most efficient tank with minimal upkeep. The gentleman that helped me with his expertise was incredibly knowledgeable and personable, and very cool. And it is absolutely beautiful when you walk in, all the tanks have real plants, it's clean, it's well-maintained, it really looks like the store and creatures are genuinely cared for. Really can't say enough good things. I highly recommend anyone in need of anything reptile, etc., related come here. You won't be disappointed.

Petsmart on Nellis…read more We had a good experience at this Petsmart. We were looking for a Syrian hamster and unfortunately, we didn't find one for us. The whole setup for the animals was incredible. The store was clean, the cages were clean, the animals were healthy. A woman helped us and let us interact with all of the Syrian hamsters. They all seemed happy and ready for homes, we just didn't find the one right for us. It was a good experience though and I definitely recommend the store.
